Kurt Wagner had a brief moment in comics when he had shadow powers (being able to turn completely invisible if he was standing in a shadow) before they ignored it, David definitely has powers that let him see in the dark, and Ruth is Ruth, so I'm rotating a situation in my mind when someone goes into the X-Mansion kitchen and gets jumscared by David, Ruth, and Kurt standing in pitch blackness, because none of them noticed the lights weren't on.

In order to save Nightcrawler, Pixie, Jackie Chopra and Doctor Nemesis who had been held captive by Orchis; the mutants - Legion, Blindfold and Banshee seek help with Mother Righteous even though Legion doesn't trust her. Then, Legion and Mother Righteous set off to Orchis space station where Legion breaks the captives out while Mother Righteous holds Nimrod off by using her magic and talking down to him. The rescue mission goes well for Legion until he encounters Margali who beheads him with a sword before throwing Legion, Doctor Nemesis, Pixie and Jackie Chopra out of the airlock. Margali tries to take back Nightcrawler until Mother Righteous appears and sucks the magic/soul out of Margali. After a brief fight, Mother Righteous brings Legion and the mutants back from the orbit.

I don't think David is entirely straight, but I also don't think he'd ever realise that about himself. You can divide his life pretty neatly up into

child (not thinking about dating yet)

slightly older child - teen (being subjected to medical abuse - not thinking about who he'd like to date)

dating Ruth - yay! (no need to think about who he'd like to date because he's already there)

so I don't think he'd ever examine being attracted to men. If you asked him what kind of person he's attracted to, his brain would just play a slideshow of everything cool that Ruth did in the past week.

I think he probably had a small crush on Doug Ramsey when he was younger, and I think he's the kind of pansexual guy who thinks he's straight, and also thinks that it's normal for straight guys to think Luke Skywalker is cute.
