Wrong Place, Wrong Time - Jim Street (S.W.A.T)
Tumblr media
plot: going into labor while visiting Street at work and being stuck due to a lockdown.
character: Jim Street x pregnant! reader + Deacon x reader + Luca x reader
a/n: Someone requested this but I couldn't stop writing so I turned it into a one-shot 😅 sorry I was so excited!
Tumblr media
It was a busy day at S.W.A.T HQ but you didn’t know that when you made an appearance to say hi to your husband Jim. You were out with friends for brunch before going home you thought about stopping by to say hi to the team. The first person you saw was David, you smiled at him and he came over to greet you.
“Hi Y/n!” he gave you a hug “How are you doing?” he looked you up and down.
“Hi David. I’m good and you?” You asked.
“Just swamped right now but good.” He answered honestly.
“How’s things with being pregnant?” he looked at your belly.
“Ugh so much harder than I thought.” You pouted “I thought it was going to be easy and fun and I’m like a unicorn but no it wasn’t.”
He gave a short laugh “Well don’t worry any day now the baby is coming and it’s gonna be different.”
“Well you are an expert at that so I should take your word for it.” You both smiled at each other.
Just before you could about your husband, he showed up looking worried.
“Y/n!” he came rushing to your side.
“Hey you” you smiled at him.
“What’s wrong? Are you alright? Is it the baby?” he took hold of your hands and started looking for anything that didn’t look right.
“Easy there tiger” David started and that made Jim look at him “She’s here to make your day better.”
He nodded at him then David excused himself. Jim turned his focus on you and gave you a long hug.
“Okay now I gotta ask you.” You said while hugging him back “Are you okay?”
He gave you one of his cute smiles that showed his dimples “Deacon was right I feel much better now.” He didn’t let you go completely and was still holding to your arms.
You were a little suspicion about that, but you knew his job wasn’t that easy. Tan came running and passed you two “Street we got an update.”
“What’s going on in here?” you said looking around, seeing everyone on edge.
“I’m sorry baby it’s just bad timing. We’re dealing with something right now.” Street said while rubbing your arms trying to keep you calm.
“You go help out I’ll leave and see you at home.” He was hesitated to leave you.
“Go” you encouraged him “I’ll be fine.” You gave him a gentle push.
He gave you a soft kiss before running after Tan. You hoped they all ended the day on a good note and prayed silently for their safety. As you were making your way to the door you felt pain, but at this point it was normal because it was close to your due day. You were feeling pain all through your pregnancy but each one was different depending on your stage. You stopped to take deep breaths.
“Oh hey are you alright Y/n?” you heard Luca’s voice before seeing him.
He stepped in to help if he could “Are you alright?” he offered you his hand to grab if you needed it and God you did. You took hold and squeezed.
“Here let’s help you sit down on the chair.” You barley made it to the chair
“Should we call Street?” Luca was rubbing your back to ease the pain.
“No.” You said firmly “There’s no need to scare him.”
The pain stopped “Oh the pain stopped” you stood up straight then looked at Luca.
Before Luca was able to reply the alarm noise boomed in the whole building. Everyone looked around then their training took over, the whole building was on lock down. The alarm scared you and you took hold of Luca’s arm.
“What’s happening?” your voice was shaky.
“We’ve been dealing with hackers all day. If I have to take a guess they must be trying to get into our system.”
Just then Jim came running, he was looking for Luca when he saw you.
“I thought you left?” his eyes were wide.
“Sorry I was double sided a little bit.” You gave him a weak smile.
“Come on we’ll let you rest in Hick’s office until we finish dealing with this.”
You both made your way to Hick’s office, and Jim went out of his way to make you feel comfortable as you will be in there for a while.
“All done” he said as he fluffed the last pillow and turned to see you looking at him with heart eyes.
“What?”
“Nothing” you moved closer to him “I just think you’re the best husband, trying to make me feel comfortable here while your team is out there doing their work.”
“isn’t that why you marry me?” he smiled with those cute dimples.
“That and for many other reasons.” You kissed him.
When you parted he saw your eyes widened, you looked down at your legs and his eyes followed yours.
“I think my water broke!” you said panicking.
“I think so too.”
He grabbed your arms to help you sit down on the sofa, Jim was used to stressful situations and situations that made most people panic and freak out. He knew exactly how to be calm and process everything at once, so when your water broke, he was exactly what you needed by your side. He was there for the birth classes with you, he didn’t miss not one class. He read every book he could find about pregnancy and childbirth, he wanted to be ready for the whole thing just in case something happened.
“You remember the breathing exercises?” you nodded “Well it’s time to put them into test, okay?” he told you in a very calming voice.
“Give me a minute baby I’m gonna call someone” he held his phone to his ears.
He was still holding your hand while he talked to someone on the phone.
“Yeah we’re in the Hick’s office……… yeah her water just broke.” You couldn’t hear the rest of the conversation because of the contraction, you pressed on Jim’s hand hard while controlling your breathing. He ended the phone call and got down to your level.
“Hey sweetheart just keep breathing.” He grabbed your other hand and press a kiss to it.
There was a knock on the door and Deacon showed up “Hey guys I thought you might need a hand here.”
Jim and David did everything they could to make you feel at ease, it was the longest 30 minutes of your entire life. But you had your husband with you the whole time, so you kept on focusing on the positive things and not get your mind the on the negative. David was also here and he has four kids and they all healthy so he’s a trained professional on childbirths right now, when you told him that he laughed “Yeah you’re right about that, so there’s no need to be worried as long as I’m here.”
He also called an ambulance that was waiting for you outside as soon as the lockdown was over. The contractions were getting 4 minutes apart by now, the team was working as fast as they could. Thanks to both Luca and Tan they manage to find their target, the people behind all of this. Even thought Jim was slowly getting stressed about his baby being born here in HQ he wants to make sure that both you and the baby were fine, thankfully David was there.
As soon as the lockdown was lifted the EMT got into the building and head straight to you, they manage to get you to the hospital in record time. Your doctor was already waiting for you, you forced them to let Jim in with you they were against it at first until
“Listen to me if you want to baby to get out of me in the smoothest way possible without any risk of me being stubborn then my husband will be in there with me. You got that?”
You were so serious than the nurse was terrified of you so she let him in. The whole team were waiting for any news about what’s happening in there. After 2 hours Jim Street walks in the waiting room with a big smile on his face.
“It’s a girl!” he announced putting both his arms up “And Y/n is fine, she’s resting.”
A round of hugs and congratulations went around the room.
“Hey Deacon Y/n wants to see you first.” Jim told him.
They both walked in and saw you holding your little girl in your arms, you look happy and tired at the same time. Jim took her from your arms and gave her a kiss before handed her to Deacon.
“Wow she’s so beautiful.” He rocked her lightly looking at both of you.
“We wanted you to be the first to meet her.” Jim started.
“Yeah, we thought that she would want to meet her godfather.” You continued.
David’s head turned towards the both of you shocked “Are you sure?”
“Yeah of course, we’re sure!” you both said.
“She wouldn’t be here without all your help today, David.” You smiled at him “So thank you for everything.”
He smiled “Well let’s just hope she has her daddy’s looks but mother’s behavior.”
Both you and him laughed while Jim acted like he was offended.
“Say that to the poor nurse her mom threatened on the way to the delivery room.”

Can you do the prompt “Your love is like a soldier, loyal 'til you die” for Donovan Rocker?
Tumblr media
Rocker has never doubted your loyalty, not for a single second.
This thing between the two of you may be casual but he knows you don’t have any intention of seeing anyone else, the same way that he doesn’t. Which is why he’s surprised when Stevens tells him you took home a Detective in the Robbery division the last night.
“Carter’s telling everybody what a wild time they had.” Stevens informs him as they change into their gym clothes. “It makes me want to punch him in the face.”
It makes Rocker want to punch the other man in the face too, because Carter, he’s lying. Rocker knows where you were last night, you were with him, wrapped up in his sheets, calling his name, coming on his cock. He can’t tell Stevens that because you’re keeping things low key for this exact reason.
You don’t want other cops thinking you’re an easy mark, that you’ll jump into bed with anyone of them. You’ve worked so hard to get where you are and all people will see when they look at you is the girl that fucked Carter, it makes Rocker’s blood boil.
He doesn’t manage to get you alone until much later on. You’re in the kitchen making coffee, when he leans against the work surface alongside if you, his arms crossed over his chest.
“There’s a rumour going around that you fucked David Carter.”
He sees your shoulders tense, you pause stirring your drink before you tilt your head towards him.
“He tried to buy me a drink at the bar last night.” You tell Rocker. “I told him I wasn’t interested…”
“And now he’s telling everyone you slept with him.” Rocker summarises.
He understands what happened. Carter isn’t used to being rejected and nailing you, one of LAPD’s only female SWAT officers would gain him a lot of kudos and back slaps. Rocker fucking hates it. The other man doesn’t give a shit about you or your reputation, he just wants to bolster his own.
“What do we do about this?” He asks you because Rocker, he likes to be proactive.
He wants to get in front of this, stop it in it’s tracks.
“I’ll take care of it.” You say quietly.
He opens his mouth to ask what that means but the two of you are interrupted by Luca.
It’s at the end of his shift he finds out about what happened. He’s been out on a call and returns to overhear Street and Tan discussing it as their switching out into civvies.
“She tore him a new one in front of his entire division.” Tan tells the other man. “It was brutal and epic.”
“How pathetic do you have to be to make up something like that?” Street says shaking his head. “I don’t know what was going through his head, she’s completely out of his league.”
Rocker finds the edges of his mouth tipping up into a smile. He should have known he didn’t need to worry about you or your reputation, you’ve handled it all on your own.

Guilty as charged (David "Deacon" Kay x f!reader)
Summary: You're working for the CIA's Special Activities Division and get involved in a case 20-David has to deal with. Despite being married, Deacon is drawn to you and there's nothing he can do about it. His life gets out of control and it takes a really long time to find himself again.
Warnings: emotional cheating, a teensy bit of catholic guilt
Note: I only saw like half of s6 so I don't know Annie. She must be nice, but this had to be done.
Tumblr media
You were CIA–Special Activities Division to be exact. Deacon understood that you had been close to the fire before and knew much more about their suspect than they would learn from a quick research. Time was running out which meant they could use all the help they could get. Hondo wanted him and Luca to go through the details with you so they could come up with a plan, but he wasn’t exactly happy about it.
His problem with you wasn’t the fact you were an outsider. It was personal.
First, he subconsciously began to focus on your hands, looking for an engagement ring or a wedding band, but there was nothing. Then you made a quick personal phone call around him, and he found himself listening to see if the person on the other end of the line was someone you were in a relationship with. And he knew he was in big trouble when he had to wrap an arm around your waist and pull you against his chest to get you out of the way of trouble.
He reminded himself that he was married with kids over and over again, that he was in a happy marriage and didn’t need anyone else. But then you flashed a small smile at him and his strength to keep his distance disappeared without a trace. He discreetly made sure he was near you all the time; he helped you out if further research was necessary, if you had to visit a witness or a source, or if you wanted to let off some steam in the boxing ring after running into another dead end.
By the time that case came to an end, he had more and more trouble getting you out of his head. He even went to church to confess his sinful thoughts, but that didn't seem to help him, because that evening he had a brand new dream about you. A dream that mirrored the primal need that took over every time he was around you.
On the way to the station he made a promise to himself in his car; if they went out for a drink to celebrate, if you were a willing participant, he would take his chance and kiss you. Just one innocent kiss, nothing more.
Of course, it was hard to decide what he would regret the most. Kissing someone who wasn't his wife or letting you go without trying. He wanted to be faithful, he really did, but he was on the verge of losing his mind, and the only medicine seemed to be you. He had to try, even if he would have a terrible case of guilt for the rest of his life.
While you and Hondo discussed something outside of the bar, he got lost in a conversation with the rest of the team. Anything to take his mind off the thought of this being the last time he saw you. But maybe this was good news, maybe being away from you would give him the closure he was seeking.
Some time later Hondo showed up, ordering a beer for himself before turning to Deacon. “I can see you want to say something,” he said with a smile.
“Where did you leave our new friend?”
The other man let out a long sigh at this seemingly innocent question. “She’s talking to someone on the phone outside. Look, Deac, you’re my friend, so remember that I'm on your side. But listen, you need to stop.”
“What are you talking about?”
“I can see the way you look at her. You're married, you shouldn't look like a kicked puppy every time she turns her attention to someone else.” Deacon nervously looked away, suddenly feeling guilty because he was right. He probably did look like a kicked puppy, because he sure as hell felt like one every time you talked to someone else from the team. “Did anything happen between you?” Hondo asked him with a concerned look.
“No.”
“Good. You shouldn't risk your marriage for someone who will leave tomorrow.”
With a groan, Deacon stood up and put on his jacket. “Noted. I'll go get some fresh air now.”
“Come on, man, I've just told you to leave her alone. You're playing a dangerous game,” came the sensible response.
“Thanks for the warning, I appreciate it.”
Hondo was right about everything, he knew that very well, but he was drawn to you in a way he had never been drawn to anyone, not even his wife. The idea of never seeing you again felt like a dagger in his heart, which seemed surreal since he only met you a few days ago. It was something unexplainable, something he was willing to accept without questions. Maybe it was fate that brought you together.
He walked around the building and found you standing on the street with your back against the wall, the light of the screen illuminating your face as you scrolled your phone. Even though he came to a stop before reaching you so he could take a good look at you, appreciating the view and taking in every little detail to remember you, you looked up and flashed a smile at him.
“Needed some air?” you asked, sounding as friendly as always.
“Yeah, you can say that. Can we talk?” You nodded and pushed yourself away from the wall to move closer to him. “Please tell me you have someone waiting for you back home,” Deacon begged you quietly.
“What?”
“Tell me you're in a relationship, give me a damn good reason why I shouldn't do something I might regret later.”
“Deacon, I…”
He placed his hands on your cheeks and leaned so close his lips almost touched yours. Almost. He kept a little distance, he didn't kiss you, so it didn't count as cheating, right? You looked confused, but still let him take control of the situation. “I shouldn't be doing this, but you don't give me a choice. You're driving me crazy, you know that?” he asked as his lips brushed your jawline.
Your fingers curled around his wrist before you gently pulled his hands away and took a step or two away from him. “I know you’re married, and I avoid married men,” you informed him, although there was no hate in your voice. You were still kind to him, as if it was nothing more but a misunderstanding.
“If I was single, would you give me a chance?”
“No. And it’s not because of you, it’s because of me. I don’t live in LA, I’m sometimes away for months, and I wouldn’t want you to deal with that.”
“I wouldn’t care.”
“But I would.” You stopped and took a deep breath, your eyes set on him as you carefully studied his expression. Deacon tried to keep a straight face, he tried to keep calm and make it look like he wasn’t on the verge of a panic attack, but you clearly saw through it all. “You’re not planning on leaving your family, are you?”
“I don’t know. Can’t say the thought hasn’t crossed my mind.”
Shaking your head, you let out a sigh and took a hesitant step closer. “Don’t even think about it, okay? You can’t end a marriage that’s been good just because you’re temporarily confused by your feelings,” you said, keeping your voice down as you tried to talk some sense into him.
Before he could figure out how to respond to that, Street showed up and told him they had to go somewhere. You motioned him to go with that damn adorable smile on your face, and he had a hard time fighting the urge to finally kiss you, probably for the first and last time. In the end he nodded and walked away, not looking back to make sure he safely escaped from your gravitational field.
It took Annie over a month to realize something was wrong. The countless nights Deacon spent on the couch instead of their shared bed, the distance he slowly built between them, the conversations they never had, and the way he snapped at her once when she dared to ask why he stayed out late one evening. He screwed up, he knew that, but he had been tense ever since you accidentally called him.
How could he forget about you when he saw your number in his phone, saved under the name Oliver so Annie wouldn’t put the pieces together if she ever took a look at his contact list or recent calls? If she had taken a look at it, she would have seen one incoming call from this guy, and several outgoing ones that only lasted a few seconds. Maybe a new friend, she could have thought.
So another two months later Annie sat him down so they could talk like adults, discussing what bothered him and hopefully finding a solution to their problem. At first he didn’t want to talk, he just kept changing the topic, but she knew better than to let him do that. When she asked him who she was, he groaned and stood up to start pacing in front of her. How could he explain the situation? It was so ridiculous that even he wanted to laugh at himself sometimes.
“We worked together on a case for a few days about four months ago. I hadn’t seen her or talked to her since then. Nothing happened, I swear,” he said, choosing to be honest with her. She deserved that much.
“Then what’s going on? Despite stating nothing happened between you, you didn’t hesitate to confirm it’s about another woman,” she pushed on, her voice slowly breaking.
Deacon gulped as he considered what to say. “She knew I was married and she wanted absolutely nothing from me. It’s all on me, Annie. I was the one who chased her, not the other way around.”
“Please, pack a suitcase and leave. I–I can’t be under the same roof with you now.”
A text was all he sent you. A short text that told you his wife had kicked him out three months ago and he was sure they wouldn't get back together. Then he waited. A day. A week. A whole month passed with no response. He was beginning to accept that you wouldn't talk to him again.
But then he went to the station one day and he was told someone was waiting for him. It was you. After all that time you were standing in front of him, looking absolutely stunning in the blue sundress you wore with a pair of beige summer ankle boots. You looked so uncertain that if he hadn't known what you were capable of, he would have assumed you were out of your element here.
Maybe you were. Maybe you both were. This wasn't a conversation about a case or your respective jobs. He felt it in his bones that you came because of his message. So he cleared his throat and walked over to you, taking deep breaths to calm himself since his heart wanted to jump out of his ribcage.
“It's been a while,” he said with a nervous smile.
You looked down at your shoes, doing your best to avoid his gaze. “I don't even know why I'm here. I've been away for so long, then I came home a few days ago and saw your text and the missed calls. I'm sorry, it's been a long time, maybe I should leave,” you said.
Before you could turn to leave, though, he grabbed your hand and pulled you back. “Is that why I couldn't reach you? Because you were on a mission?” You nodded when you were finally brave enough to look him in the eye. “When I asked you if you would give me a chance if I was single, you said you wouldn't because of your job. But now you're here and I need to know why.”
“I don't know, Deac. All I know is that I couldn't get you out of my head after I found out you were still thinking about me,” you admitted.
He smiled at you as he wrapped his arm around your waist and pulled you closer to himself. “Let's say we can find a way to make this work. Are you sure you're ready for this?” he asked you.
You placed a hand on his arm and began to draw circles into his skin with your thumb. The silence was deafening, but he wasn't about to rush you, not when he finally had you this close again. And then you spoke up, but the things you said brought a deep frown on his face.
“You misunderstood me, I'm afraid. When I said I couldn't get you out of my head, I meant it in a different way. You can't keep doing this to yourself. Stop thinking about me, forget I exist, and for the love of God, try to fix things with your wife,” you told him seriously.
“I don't think that's possible,” he began sadly. “Every time I look at her, all I can think about is how I wish she was more like you. I can't love the woman she is anymore. It's you I need.”
Shaking your head, you pushed his arm away and stepped away from him. “I need to go, my team will head out in two hours. Don't torture yourself, Deacon. You deserve better,” you said, even flashing a supportive smile at him.
He let out an annoyed groan, his warm eyes watching you closely as he thought about what he could possibly do to change your mind. Maybe if he showed you how good you two would be together, you would realize that it wasn't worth losing the possibility of a happy relationship. So in the end he looked around, making sure no one was around, then closed the gap between you and let his lip crush into yours in a cautious kiss.
“Now be honest with me,” he began patiently as his fingers caressed your cheek. “Why did you really come here? You were nervous, told me you didn't know why you came here, which was probably a lie. And I can tell the whole ‘forget about me and go back to your wife’ speech was a lie too.”
You watched him silently for a while, then you gulped and licked your lips as you prepared to talk. “But I meant it when I said you deserved better than me,” you told him.
“Just try to accept it’s you I need in my life.”
“What about the divorce? How’s that going?”
The divorce. Sure. All that had happened so far with his marriage was Annie throwing him out and the two of them seeing a counselor to discuss how to move on with the kids. They had to tell them that he was moving out for good, and they had to find the right way to assure them he wouldn’t disappear. But they never talked about the legal part of this process which was weird in retrospect as they had been separated for months and Annie was seeing someone already.
Deacon took a deep breath and said, “It’s… going.”
When he saw you close your eyes and let out a long sigh, he knew he couldn’t fool you. And just as he expected, you pulled away and gave him a serious look. “Call me when you’re legally single, okay? Until then it’s nothing more but a fantasy, you know that,” you told him coldly before telling him you had to get to the airport anyway.
He didn’t even try to stop you. You were right, and even he would have a lot to process if he entered a relationship before the divorce was finalized. He was already going to the church quite often to at least chat with the priest if he wasn’t ready to confess, hoping he would be able to give him the guidance he needed so badly right now.
And now you were back, even if for just a very short time, and made it clear you wouldn’t necessarily be against a relationship if the circumstances were different. Now he had to wait. He had to wait for bureaucracy, hoping nothing would stand in his way. How patient he would be while he was waiting, though, was a completely different matter.

When will I come up with a name for this? Only time will tell....
PART 7. <3
The next morning Nikki woke up in the arms of the man she loved. Their night together was everything Nikki had dreamed of and more.
“Good morning, beautiful.” David said, his voice still heavy with sleep, when he realized his lady was awake.
“Mmm, good morning, baby.” She moaned and nuzzled her face into the crook of his neck.
“Would you like to take a shower with me?”
“Is shower sex involved?” Nikki asked with a chuckle.
“One hundred percent yes.”
After their first night together Nikki wasn’t sure if she could physically endure anymore orgasms, but she would love to bring David to another one and it still felt amazing in the process. She followed David into the shower once he had gotten the water hot. He pulled her into his embrace as the water ran down their intertwined bodies. After a few moments, David pulled Nikki from his chest, turned her around and began make sure her hair was wet and ready for shampoo. He grabbed her shampoo, squirted some into his hand and began working it through her hair, massaging it into her scalp. After her hair was soaped up, he took the time to wash his own hair and beard while Nikki cleaned her face with face wash. Once Nikki rinsed her face, David washed his hair and beard, then turned Nikki again so he could work the shampoo out of her hair. Nikki stood with her arms folded in front of her, enjoying the intimacy she was sharing with David. Nikki put conditioner in her hair while David put her body wash on her loufa. She turned around to face him and kissed his cheek as he began washing her chest.
“I love you, David Kay.”
David paused washing Nikki’s body and looked at her with a smile, “I love you more than anything, baby… and I will never get tired
of hearing you say it.”
Nikki rinsed after David washed her, only to have to wash again once David was finished with her. She loved making him feel so good.
The couple was on the way to grab lunch once they finished in the shower and got dressed. David’s hand was holding Nikki’s on the center console.
“So, one thing that I completely forgot about last night… we didn’t use a condom and we didn’t talk about me pulling out…” David said.
Nikki could sense the hesitation in his voice.
“My birth control is in my arm…” She said, “It stays there. I haven’t had a period in years and I’ve spent 31 years in this body, I know ovulation aches and pains and I also haven’t had those in years. I’m not concerned, but if you are, I don’t mind condoms.”
“No, baby, I was just asking. I don’t want to scare you off, nor am I trying to have the ‘I’m ready for kids when you are.’ Talk, but there are worse things in this world than making a baby with someone you love.”
Nikki grew distant for a moment and Deacon was worried he might have scared her by being too forward. His worry multiplied when he saw tears threatening to spill from her eyes. The couple sat in silence until he noticed her breathing pattern change – attempting to calm herself without falling apart.
“Baby, I’m sorry, I didn’t -“
“No, David, it’s not you…” Nikki said. Deacon squeezed her hand. She sniffed.
“There was one part of the story I left out when I told you about the attack from my ex.” She suddenly became petrified of telling her lover the truth. She was terrified that he would lose all trust in her and worst of all – she was scared she would lose him.
“What’s that, love?” His voice was soft… comforting.
“The reason that he attacked me that day was because he found out I was pregnant… despite raping me on multiple occasions, he was insistent that he didn’t want children. I had to agree with him. No child should have been born into that environment. I hid my pregnancy for 23 weeks - that’s why I was trying to leave. Until he found the sonogram pictures in my car. When he cut me that day, he missed my uterus, but my blood loss killed my baby.”
The tears spilled from her eyes as she thought back on feeling her baby move and watching her belly grow. Her baby would always be a part of her. Deacon had no words for his girl. He immediately pulled into the next parking lot, got out, and took Nikki into his arms as she sobbed. He was surprised that she had kept this from him after telling him the first part of her story, but he made conscious efforts to put himself in her shoes. Regardless, he couldn’t be mad at her – not with her falling apart in his arms like this.
“He took so much from me, David.” She cried in between breaths.
“I know, I know, baby.” Deacon tried to console her as he rubbed her hair. He kissed her head.
Nikki thought she had gotten over this…. But again, maybe she hadn’t.
Deacon was slightly bothered that Nikki had left out such a huge part of that story, but after seeing how much it still affected her, he decided to let it go.
“Her name was going to be Dakota…” Nikki said, her voice weak with surrender.
“I know she would have been just as beautiful as you, darling. There’s not a doubt in my mind she’s watching down over you, so very proud of the woman you are.”
Deacon held his love in his arms until she indicated she was ready to resume their day. Once they were in his truck on their way to food again, Nikki began apologizing. She hadn’t meant to unload on David like she had and part of her felt guilty for not disclosing this information beforehand, but now she understood why her mind chose to suppress it.
“Sweetheart, please don’t ever apologize for feeling the way you feel. I’m here to love you through it all.” Deacon kissed the back of her hand.
Nikki knew Deacon had questions and she was more than willing to answer, so she began.
“I guess that’s why I never got into another relationship after Jason - my ex. I knew the heartache I experienced every single day knowing what a horrible dad my baby was going to have and I knew that in order to protect her, it would mean leaving… and leaving killed her.” Nikki felt nauseated at finally voicing these thoughts, feelings, and emotions, but she continued. “I’ve never met anyone that even came close to what a husband and father should be in my opinion. I always refused to put myself or any innocent lives in that danger again. It ate away at me for so long and clearly it still bothers me, but I’ve come a long, long way since then.
“I want to have children one day, with the right person and David, you are my person. I don’t necessarily want children right now, but you give me such a security… you are home to me, David. That’s why last night, I didn’t care what happened in the aftermath of it all. I still don’t. My birth control does a pretty effective job, and one day, when we decide it’s time to have children, I can get it removed, but until then, I’m not die hard on all preventative measures.”
“Nikki, whatever makes you feel at ease is what I am willing to do for you… no matter what that means.” David looked longingly into Nikki’s eyes as he parked in the restaurant parking lot. He leaned across the console, pulling Nikki in for a kiss. Her lips still tasted salty from her earlier tears and it crushed him.
Several days later at work, Hondo walked in on Deacon searching for Jason Matthews.
“Who’s that?” Hondo inquired.
“Nikki’s ex-husband…” Deacon said, lost in concentration as he read the prick’s rap sheet.
“Ex-husband?”
“Yeah, man.”
“You didn’t tell me she came with all of that baggage… does she still talk to him?”
Hondo’s words struck a nerve in Deacon and he found himself slightly irritated at his teammate. He opened the window that held Matthews’ obituary and slid the laptop Hondo’s way. Hondo’s eyebrows furrowed as he read the article that detailed how the man lost his life.
“Holy… fucking… shit…” Hondo looked up at Deacon, “I’m so sorry, man.”
Deacon took the laptop back and scrolled through several mugshots. Most of them were from his marriage to Nikki.
“She was pregnant too…”
This caught Hondo off guard and Deacon could tell by puzzled expression on the man’s face.
“That’s what started it all. He raped her, found out she was pregnant halfway through the pregnancy, didn’t want the kid, so tried to kill the kid himself by gutting her. Nikki shot him in the head, but lost so much blood it killed her baby… Her baby girl.”
Hondo had no words.
“Yeah, I was just as surprised as you are. But you’d never be able to tell it, brother. She’s had to do even more work on herself than I have.”
“She’s a fighter,” Hondo agreed. “So does she want kids later on?”
Deacon nodded. “She’s on birth control now, but that’s all we use.”
“And how do you feel about that?”
Deacon appreciated how Hondo always cared about his situation, but ultimately cared the most about him as his SWAT family member.
“Honestly? She could tell me she’s pregnant right now and I would be just as happy as if it were something we were planning. I’m not scared of it, man.”
“You know,” Hondo grinned, “You’re gonna marry that girl one day.”
Deacon chuckled. “You are absolutely right.

Donovan sings in the shower. It’s loud and enthusiastic but it’s far from good, you don’t have the heart to tell him. Instead, you decide to find another way to distract him. He’s just rinsed the conditioner from his hair when the glass door of the walk-in shower opens, and you step inside. He doesn’t expect it, you usually slip out long before he’s woken up, but you’d had a rough call last night, you’d ended you sleeping in. When you’d turned up at his door, he’d known it wasn’t just for sex.
You’d spend the early hours of the morning ruining him, pinning his wrists to the mattress as you took what you’d needed. He gets the need for control especially when something goes down like that. He holds you in the aftermath, his fingers trailing over your skin as you tuck yourself under his chin. It’s the first time you’ve come to him for comfort, that you’ve allowed him to give it to you.
You don’t say anything and neither does he. He doesn’t want to break the spell so he keeps his mouth shut because he knows the wrong move will send you fleeing and he doesn’t want that, he wants you to stay.
When you kiss him it’s soft, tender. Something he isn’t used to receiving from you. This thing between the two of you has always been casual, a way to blow off steam, explore some of those darker desires but it’s on the cusp of changing, he can feel it. Your fingertips ghost along the line of his jaw, his arm wraps around your waist drawing you closer.
“I’ve never fucked in the shower before.” He murmurs against your lips.
You smile because you’ve been giving Donovan a lot of firsts recently and you like the idea of giving him another. He moans into your mouth as your fingers wrap around his hardening cock, hips arching into your touch.
“Let’s change that shall we.”

Pairing: David “Deacon” Kay x f!reader
Note: I only saw like one season but goddammit... I had a brainrot and wrote a little something.
Warnings: age gap.
••••
“Just wait until you hear the end of the story because it gets crazier, I swear,” you said with a laugh before taking a sip of your wine.
Deacon loved the idea of just sitting there in the small restaurant near the apartment complex you both lived in and listening to you telling him those funny stories from the hospital. During these moments you were full of life and it was obvious you loved your job more than anything, so he always encouraged you to talk to him about your day.
It would have been a lie if he said he wasn't catching feelings. Because he was. And boy, did he wish you were feeling the same. Every time he saw you smile at him he wanted to pull you into a kiss, just a quick nonchalant kiss that would make him forget every problem he had. But you never showed any romantic interest in him, which soon made him realize he was dumb to assume you would ever love a divorced man his age.
He had seen your boyfriends, the young and successful titans who were ready to give you whatever your heart desired. He remembered that surgeon you dated for a while around the time he moved away from his family, the man who always gave you a ride home in his fancy Aston Martin, and the man who once yelled at you in the hallway during a nasty fight. That was the day he checked his license plate to see who he was and if he got into trouble before.
“Okay, I'll shut up now,” you said with your hands held up.
“Please, don't.” But you shook your head and took a bite of your pizza. “What's wrong?”
“You always do this. You know, asking me about my day, then watching me with this weird smile on your face, as if you were listening to the village idiot telling some funny story.”
Deacon let out a laugh while he took the glass of wine from you. “Okay, no more alcohol for you. I watch you with a smile because I love to listen to your stories.”
It was strange how he couldn’t remember when he reached out to take your hand, but when he saw your gaze move down to your hand, he immediately pulled it back with an apologetic look on his face. He could have sworn you were disappointed by the lack of contact, but he dismissed this thought immediately. If anything, you must have been relieved that he decided not to force this.
“There’s something we might need to talk about,” you suddenly said, your voice serious all of a sudden.
He let out a questioning hum to assure you he was listening, but before you could say anything, a man near the entrance began to yell at the couple sitting by the window and even pointed a gun at them. Deacon’s immediate reaction was to pull you down on the floor so you would be out of sight, then he pulled out his own weapon and told the man to drop his gun. Instead of doing that, the man pulled the trigger with shaking hands and the bullet grazed the innocent man’s arm. The woman screamed and Deacon shot the attacker without hesitation.
While he made a call to report the incident and call an ambulance, you slowly stood up and looked over at the two injured men not far from you. Even though he wanted to stop you, you sprung into action and asked the staff if they had a medical kit in the restaurant. Being a doctor meant you were ready to save whoever you could, including the attacker who was slowly bleeding out on the hardwood floor.
“Let me help,” he tried when he stopped behind you.
You turned to him with an angry look on your face before returning your attention back to your patient. “You did enough damage, Deac,” you spat.
With a sigh, he moved over to the other man and helped to bandage the wound until the ambulance arrived. His eyes wandered to you every once in a while, seeing the way you did your best to save him with the help of a waiter. He knew what bothered you. He knew you swore to save people, while his job often came with taking the life of someone. Maybe for you there was no way to get past that, and seeing him actually hurt another human being opened your eyes and made you see this contrast.
The ambulance soon arrived and the paramedics took over, leaving you standing in front of the restaurant and watching the others do their jobs. Deacon bit on his lower lip nervously as he stepped behind you and wrapped an arm around your shoulder to pull you against his chest, his face buried in your hair as he kissed your head. “Are you okay?” he asked you quietly.
You didn’t turn to look at him, you didn’t even respond to his question, but within a matter of seconds you said, “I need to wash the blood off my hands.”
He took the hint and let you go, his eyes not leaving you while you went back to the restaurant. You never returned to his side, instead you stayed inside, sitting by a table to wait for the cops to arrive and take your statement. Since he didn’t want to push you now, he kept his distance, hoping you would change your mind and talk to him about what happened.
But then a week passed and he hadn’t seen you. He briefly considered visiting you at the hospital you worked in, but he was quick to dismiss the idea. So when Hondo told him someone was looking for him, and he found you standing in the hallway, he had no idea what to say. Should he apologize? Was this what you wanted?
To his luck, you knew exactly what you wanted to say. “I just wanted to say that I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to push you away. It’s just… I know you wanted to protect the people there, I know that man shot another before you pulled the trigger, but you need to understand that I’m not comfortable with this. I knew what you do for a living, I heard the stories, but I guess you always tried to shelter me by keeping these parts to yourself,” you told him.
“I’m sorry you had to see that,” was all he said to you.
You took a step closer, your eyes fixed on him as you got ready to speak up again. “There’s something I wanted to talk to you about before the shooting.” He nodded, encouraging you to go on. “Maybe I’m seeing more into things than I should and I need you to tell me whether I’m right or wrong. The way you’re looking at me and touching me makes me think that you might see me as more than a simple neighbor. Or friend.”
As he took a deep breath, Deacon carefully considered what to say. He didn’t want to risk losing you over feelings you might not even reciprocate, so he cleared his throat and decided to lie. “Look, I’m much older than you. I want to believe that you’re my friend and I want to make sure you’re safe. I’m sorry if I gave you the wrong impression.”
“Sure?”
He nodded and heard a relieved sigh leave your lips. Or was it a sigh of relief? Because the next moment you muttered something under your breath, maybe an apology, then before he could ask you what you meant by that, you put a hand on the back of his neck and pulled him closer to kiss him. Your lips were soft as they moved in perfect sync with his, and his hands were resting on your waist when he moved you a little closer to him. Anything to close that almost nonexistent gap between you.
“I’m sorry to interrupt, lovebirds, but duty calls,” Hondo said with a laugh when he passed by.
“We will have to talk about this,” he told you, unable to hide his smile. This was exactly what he’d been dying to do ever since that day he had his first proper conversation with you. When you nodded with a shy smile, he gave you a last quick kiss and said, “I’ll call you later, okay?”
