Thoughts on Voyager
**Disclaimer: I have never read Fate/Requiem**
As soon as the collaboration had been announced for Fate Grand Order I knew he was going to be a Foreigner.  From the skills he possessed on the wikia (halting Nzambi's knife) no other class would have worked in my mind.  I did originally believe he would be the reward SR for the event, just like Shiki he is the figure most discussed.  And it would finally give the game a Foreigner as a reward, since it's the only class yet to do so (This does appear to be the year of Foreigners though, so fingers crossed we get one maybe for summer or Christmas).  However, typical of FGO, the main protagonist (Erice) would have made more sense to guess.
That being said he definitely deserves his spot as a 5 star (SSR) because he's so much more than the cute boy everyone sees.  He is definitely cute, don't get me wrong (me and my SO @inasearchforlife have decided to adopt him), but he is so much more than that.  He is literally the craft upon which humans hopes and dreams are being carried to other planets.  He has the blueprints for what makes our species work (reproduction).
Now that it is confirmed that he is Voyager 1 and not the Little Prince (sorry to anyone who believed that he was supposed to be, I couldn't buy it) it makes all the more sense he'd be a Foreigner.  He was yeeted into space by humanity, so he is completely alone in his journey with only his Golden Record and his camera to keep him company, even Curiosity (the Mars rover) is able to sing happy birthday to itself and the hope is that he will be rescued.  Voyager 1 is literally sent to die, which sadly will happen in less than a decade (when Fate/Requiem takes place as I am told).  So it makes sense that he would attempt to make Erice happy by taking an interest and attempting to be the Little Prince, because it's something she loves and he, seeking to fulfill her dreams (as Voyager 1 was made to do), would do his best to be that for her.  He even comes to her because she wishes for a servant.  My guess being he was added to the Throne of Heroes by Alaya, but was never made a Counter Force either due to his Foreigner nature or that fact the Gaia does not identify this as clash with her ideas.  As soon as he is added to the Throne he immediately responds to the wishes of Erice because that's the only summoning material she had.
I believe this also formed the physical embodiment of what Voyager is as a human.  He is able to do extraordinary things because Erice believes in their ability to do anything.  He also takes the form of an eight year old boy so that he can heal the damaged past that she has, when she was betrayed by Avenger Louis XVII.  The fact that he imitates the Little Prince is just a bonus he or his Saint Graph creates.  Erice also looks up to the explorers of the world, such as Francis Drake, which is why the Little Prince is still so important to her.  And who can top an explorer who is literally going to other worlds (besides Abigail Williams who is the host to Yog-Sothoth, who encompasses all space) such as Voyager.
Bearing all of that in mind, I believe Voyager is, in himself, a form of a lesser grail, he carries with him the hopes and dreams of all humanity in an attempt to make them a reality.
Now immediately after finding Voyager Erice gives him a bath and according to what I have read, he claims that it is too hot.  However I believe this to be a well concealed scientific fact by the author.  Most water is treated to remove impurities and one of the most commonly used chemicals is chlorine, which is very corrosive to aluminum.  Not only are Voyager 1 and 2 coated in this metal but Voyager 1's Golden Disk is protected in a box of the metal.  This leads me to believe he dislikes the bath because in his true form, it would have ripped him and the box protecting his prized possession to pieces.  As for his fear of snakes, he claims in FGO that he actually does care for them, but the Little Prince was bitten by one, so he took on that fear.
As for likes, he loves to explore anything he can, just like a child, but also just like a being who is new to these senses.  Taste, touch and smell would all be a new way for him to experience the world that he would want to try to overwhelm them all.  As for music, Voyager has only his own beepings and his Golden Disk to keep him company and as such would be fascinated by new noises, simply more for his collection.  This collection, by the way, consists of at least one sound, typically of music, from every continent and explains his ability to understand almost all languages, because he listens to them on repeat for over forty years.
As for his line about being Foreigner here, but a Voyager in another life I believe that this simply refers to the fact that he is now being referred to as a class name, as most servants are and he is not used to it.  He has always been called Voyager by the people who gave him life and then by Erice.  Now we call him a Foreigner and he is recognizing the difference.
Voyager is a class, I'm just dumb
Future of Voyager in FGO
Yes, I believe Voyager has a future in Fate Grand Order.  And it begins with another Foreigner.  In her Interlude Abigail states that she knows we are going to a place she cannot follow.  For someone who host all time and space in her, how could she possibly not go there?  Unless Yog-Sothoth himself is halting her progress.  Then later, BB (Summer) claims that she is attempting to keep us from continuing our journey because she doesn't want us to continue to our death.  Since she "borrowed" the power of Nyralathotep, the ultimate trickster, what could she be afraid of?  Finally Ashiya Douman and the Priestess of the Alien God allude to an entity of incredible power.  From the very start I have believed this threat to be the Elder God, Azothoth.  He who sits in the center of the universe and must be lulled to sleep less he strike out in his blind, idiot way.  And just like with Solomon/Goetia, Azothoth will be no small fight.  And I believe every servant will be needed to tackle this new threat.  Solomon/Goetia is already sojourning the Lostbelts with us, as the Atlantis chapter taught us and Abby and Musashi are time and space travelers too.  And who else would be a great candidate to be at the climatic final fight but Voyager.  Not only is he a space traveler in his own right but he is humanity's hopes and dreams, literally.  His Noble Phantasm, Pale Blue Dot is his love and wishes for humanity, the fact that he wants to carry on for us and make sure our wishes are realized.  If ever there was a time for his star to burn bright it would be in the fight against ultimate chaos.
Tl;dr: Voyager is an amazing servant who could potentially be our only hope
Edit: As you can read here, Mero on Twitter has pointed out that Voyager's last ascension not only shows him on a new planet but that the background features trees and what looks to be a throne similar to the one we see in the Solomon chapter.
