My first first dove top by Megan Nielsen patterns, I love the high low hem and the overall fit is good. This top is a gift I had brought extra fabric to make one for me and looking forward to seeing it up. New pattern by #dgpatterns. This is the Chris blouse with that I got to test, it has a range of options, different sleeve lengths and with or without shirring. I have made mine in a jacquard viscose fabric from #stoffimpott This pattern is a quick sew with a great fit, what I love about this pattern are the shoulder darts at the back which give a nice fit and look to how the neckline sits compared to other patterns I have tried. I know it is a day late, did do it on Friday though! 😏 My neighbour asked me to make this dress wearable for her as the neckline was too low, swipe across to see the before photo. It may look simple however it took 30 minutes of unpicking to take off the flounce straps. My first failed attempt at sewing #freerangeslacks a great learning journey. I wanted these sewn up before travelling for our short break. I winged the pocket, love the comfortable fit at the waist and like the cut of the 3 piece leg. I didn't print properly so the pattern was enlarged in both directions, I failed to print the test size page! 😭 I ended up cutting 3 inches from top seam and 4 inches from bottom seam, also several inches from two of the leg seams. My fabric choice was also poor as after one day of wearing too much bobbling with viscose linen. Version 2 coming soon, I will first draw my own measurements trouser block and use that, as well as a toil to a copy shop printed pattern! I have joined slow fashion season 2020 and I pledge to never buy any ready to wear garments. This season inspired by @crazydenimlady I pledge to not buy any fabric. I will sew from my stash, repurpose and upcycle. A new Friday upcycle challenge has been started by ... which I will be joining from this Friday. A few years back I initially made the change to buy what is essential and shift towards ethically sourced fashion. Since October 2019 I have not brought any RTW and hope to keep this fast for life.
