Finally, my preview for the @tf-bigbang
What we have here folks, is a story of two sad, broken gay men being sad and broken and gay together. It is my interpretation of how an Overlord x Trepan relationship might form in the Shattered Glass universe. Not really a slow burn, but lots of comfort sought after past hurt. Like, tooth-rotting amounts of fluff in this one.
Lovely art for the fic has been done by @glasspunkart and I can’t wait for everyone to see the full thing!

ideas?
I just had an thought... what would a OverPan relationship look like in Shatterred glass...
Have any ideas, comment down below, because I have no clue how to do a poll...
I would love to see what you all think, also sorry for sounding like I'm doing this on YouTube, I also have a YouTube channel, but I don't post much on it as it takes a long time...
But I would love to know what you all think of what a Shattered glass OverPan look like...

The angst of SG!OP ans MAIN!MEG- Pain
But- How is the Surgery done (Cant spell it but ya know wat I mean xD)? Like what is the process and What is the consequence? (Im planning something for this new boi Kain for later >:3)
MegOP is a goddamn tragedy half the time and I'm 38745235% here for it GIVE ME ALL THE DRAMATICS.
As for Mnemosurgery, you could look up the original way it's mean to work on the TF Wiki page!
In TTB it works almost the same way, but those 'claws' the surgeons have are made out of concentrated light instead (a tech evolution of the use of Near-Infra Red light to aid in traumatic brain healing, the concept of Photobiomodulation, etc) Surgeons tend to have handsets w/gloves that emit the light and are hooked up to devices and screens that detect brain activity, record/decipher memory data and keep tabs on the bodily functions of the patient. See this asshole here, Trepan (who also wears goggles to protect his eyes during intense sessions of Mnemosurgery).
Tumblr media
A 'patient' needs to be fully awake during the procedure (hence any sort of GA isn't used because it messes up active brain function which the surgeons need to view to make 'edits') and in general, it doesn't hurt much :
When the patient doesn't 'fight' hence allowing the surgeon to work with a lower intensity of light to fix the 'issue'.
If the issue is 'small'. Removing larger chunks of their memories/personalities or even a full rewrite/removal of emotions (called Shadowplay, because the person is essentially a shadow of their former selves) can be very agonizing, but see even that can be rewritten so they don't remember it!
Of course patients who are subjected to this procedure outside of formal psychiatric institutions where it's been sold as as a last-ditch attempt to correct behavioral problems are usually undergoing it against their will, so they tend to fight hard and as Trepan says it, tend to 'leak' due to the pain from the intensified light needed to successfully work on them burns part of their brain tissue (this can be physically fixed to ensure the patient survives the procedure, but there's no retrieving whatever parts of them might have been lost in that ordeal) Nosebleeds, hysterical sobbing, loss of bowel control, the works. Trepan doesn't like it, it is gross, people are gross, but ehn, a day in a Mnemosurgeon's life.
In general the procedure in light sessions leaves no marks, but burns from where the light makes contact with the skin on the temple of those who undergo heavier procedures can be evident for a while. (Prowl used to have them when he was younger but the marks faded and were eventually covered by his regrowing hair)
The consequence can basically be anything the client orders. Little edits for undesirable issues, like you wanna get rid of addiction real quick and easy? Forget something traumatic? They can do that! You wanna fuck up your political rival? Expensive but they can do that too! You wanna rewrite some Cold Constructs acting up? There's special discounts for repeat customers!
Top-level Surgeons like Trepan are in HIGH demand, usually from government sectors or Class A/B medical facilities. Many, regardless of whether they did shady work or not , did not survive Megatron's purge of them from Decepticon territories and a lot have moved elsewhere for safety reasons.

My Shattered Glass AU centers on Rewind because of course it does. It deals with his two closest relationships and their circles of influence. So Chromedome as one, with Brainstorm, Prowl, and various members of the SG’s version of the Institute like Trepan, Sunder, Froid, etc.
And then Dominus as the other, and his new home in the DJD, who are now a vigilante justice team protecting Decepticons and neutral sympathizers. They’re basically still freaky but not freaky enough to domesticate him when they find out he’s a traitor and a nice enough family that Dominus starts to think about defecting to the Decepticons for real.

Deep Hole Drilling Machine: Types and Applications
Are you in need of drilling a deep hole? Well, you might need a deep-hole drilling machine to get the job done. Deep-hole drilling machines are specially designed to drill deep holes in various materials such as metal, plastic, and wood. We will explore the types and applications of deep-hole drilling machines in this article.
Types of Deep Hole Drilling Machines
There are three main types of deep-hole drilling machines:
Gun Drilling Machines
Gun drilling machines are used to drill deep holes with a diameter of 1mm to 50mm. These machines use a single flute-cutting tool to drill the hole. Gun drilling machines are commonly used in the medical, automotive, and aerospace industries.
BTA Drilling Machines
BTA (Boring and Trepanning Association) drilling machines are used to drill deep holes with a diameter of 18mm to 800mm. These machines use a two-flute cutting tool to drill the hole. BTA drilling machines are commonly used in the oil and gas, defence, and construction industries.
Skiving and Burnishing Machines
Skiving and burnishing machines are used to drill deep holes with a diameter of 5mm to 150mm. These machines use a multi-edge cutting tool to drill the hole. Skiving and burnishing machines are commonly used in the hydraulic, pneumatic, and automotive industries.
Applications of Deep Hole Drilling Machines
Deep-hole drilling machines are used in a variety of applications across various industries. Here are some common applications of deep-hole drilling machines:
Gun Barrels
Gun barrels require deep and straight holes to ensure accurate shooting. Deep hole drilling machines are used to create precise bores in gun barrels.
Fuel Injectors
Fuel injectors in engines require small, precise holes to spray fuel into the engine. Deep hole drilling machines are used to create these holes with a high degree of accuracy.
Hydraulic Cylinders
Hydraulic cylinders are used in many industrial applications, such as construction equipment and manufacturing machinery. Deep hole drilling machines are used to create the precise holes necessary for the hydraulic pistons to move smoothly.
Aerospace Components
Aerospace components, such as turbine blades and landing gear, require deep, precise holes for optimal performance. Deep hole drilling machines are used to create these holes to exact tolerances.
Medical Implants
Medical implants, like artificial joints and pacemakers, require precise and deep holes for proper placement and function. Deep hole drilling machines are used to create these holes with a high degree of accuracy and precision.
Heat Exchangers
Heat exchangers are involved in many industrial applications to transfer heat between fluids. Deep hole drilling machines are used to create the precise holes necessary for the heat exchanger tubes to function properly.
Oil and Gas Drilling
In the oil and gas industry, deep-hole drilling machines are used to create boreholes for oil and gas extraction. These machines can drill thousands of feet below the surface to extract oil and gas.
WIDMA Deep Hole Drilling Machines
If you're searching for a reliable and efficient deep-hole drilling machine, WIDMA offers a wide range of hole-drilling machines that are suitable for various applications. Some of the popular WIDMA deep hole drilling machines include:

*Slides you $20 and a plate of almond macarons* Can you please tell me more about Shattered Glass Sunderlord?
Tumblr media
(I changed SG!Sunder's design a little and I like this one more!)
Of course! :D I don't really touch SG that often, but I really should. There's a lot of potential in it!
(I haven't talked about Sunder in this universe much, so I'll do that!)
Sunder is a world-class mnemosurgeon still, though he's on the verge of retiring and becoming a therapist/psychology professor instead. While he wears the Autobot badge, he's not as vicious as them, only part of the faction because they were looking for the best mnemosurgeons to recruit. They'd reached out to Sunder when he was in a vulnerable state, thus throwing him into the rabbit hole. When the war was over, he left the Autobots in pursuit of self-healing; which he bumped into Overlord on the way, also looking for a new purpose after branching off from the Decepticons. The two ended up bonding over their pacifism and enjoyment of calming, serene things, as well as their individual hobbies (just a random cute thought, but I like to think Sunder only uses his needles for knitting now, while Overlord is into origami).
The two would end up growing close over the course of months to years, frequently meeting up to discuss things and help each other with their problems. Overlord is also technically a mnemosurgeon, taught by Trepan (in a non-forced way), and while he'd be hesitant to use his needles as well, he'd want Sunder to teach him if it was ever necessary. Though manipulating minds isn't a big, fun thing with either of them.
Common hobbies between the two of them include sitting around, lighting incense, playing relaxing music, and talking about life while knitting and making little origami rabbits. They probably cuddle sometimes too...

anyway so I've been rewatching sg-1 again, picking up where i left off a few years back. neither of us had a hammond voice ready to hand for that stargate fusion we've been posting, so i rewatched "message in a bottle" (figuring that since it was a bottle show it would have a good modicum of hammond, which it did), and then i was like "i forgot how much i love this show" and started going again. so i have some brief notes / thoughts.
* serpent's song: s2 ep18, the one where apophis dies (mostly). the big plotty goa'uld-y episodes usually bore me, but this one was pretty well done. the apophis actor is really good. (i cannot seem to remember his name, because it's something like peter williams and my brain autofills peter wingfield, whom he is definitely not.)
* one false step: that one with the naked androgynous humanoids in white body paint, with the infrasound stuff and the yodeling. this was one of the very early ones i saw by chance, so i don't actually have much of an opinion on it, other than that sure was an episode of sg-1 that exists.
* show and tell: the one with the reetou, the invisible insectoid race. there are a lot of episodes where some kid bonds with jack, because rda is one of those rare actors who are absolutely delighted to be handed a scene with a kid or a dog in it. these eps usually live or die by the quality of the child actor. this one was no great shakes.
* 1969: a classic episode for a reason and a motherfucking delight. launched a thousand time-travel stories. the actor who plays baby hammond, except for his eyes being brown and him being a little taller i would still swear they actually went back in time and got a young don s davis to play himself. also teal'c in disguise and just everything. except possibly daniel's german accent. i'm not sure if it was specifically regional (my own german accent is heavily austrian, my portugese accent is from sao paulo, it's a thing) or just very bad. but everything else.
* out of mind: sg-1 was commissioned for four seasons at once, so they had the luxury of doing those cliffhanger season endings without getting cancelled on them. this one is mostly a clip show. and it brings back hathor, whom nobody really missed. good cliffhanger though.
* into the fire: s3 opener. much badass, very wow. jack gets goa'ulded, hammond gets to be teal'c's gunner, everything is epic.
* seth: in which sg-1 infiltrates a cult led by stargate's version of set. lots of uncomfortable (for me) thematic stuff about You Should Reconnect With Family. didn't enjoy it.
* fair game: the one where those three goa'uld system lords come to earth for treaty talks with the asgard, and there was that one promo photo that definitely looked like a pitch for a wacky sitcom.
* legacy: fucking ma'chello. even dead, he can't stop causing trouble. this is the one where daniel is Temporarily Schizophrenic Because Of Reasons and we have the evergreen trope of the Psychiatrist You Want To Punch. :P
* learning curve: another one where jack makes friends with an alien kid. felt like it ran way too long and nobody actually asked questions to understand the situation, but the heartwarming ending did stick the landing.
* point of view: the quantum mirror one where we establish that you can't have two of the same person alive in the same parallel reality or the secondary one will start to die of extremely '90s cgi. also one of the ones that really started to push the sam/jack. (i have complicated feelings about sam/jack. some other time.)
* dead man switch: the one where an annoying alien bounty hunter captures sg-1 and tries to make them do things. notable mainly for establishing the phrase "pain in the mik'ta". (Jack: "Neck?" Teal'c: "No.")
* demons: really fucking obnoxious episode that tried to have villagers whose culture came from medieval england believe the sg-1 team were demons. like, i can understand having an axe to grind against christianity, but this was just fucking stage christianity tropes, the fat corrupt churchman with the ring and the skinny good friar in a ratty robe, and a lot of blithering about demons and not even getting the damn St Michael prayer remotely right. Also the writer seemed to think trepanning would always kill the subject, and had *Daniel* of all fucking people be the mouthpiece for that one, when Daniel should know better than anyone that trepanning has been a valid medical procedure for millennia! (Also who the hell tries to treat chicken pox with trepanning I swear to god. This was a bad episode and it should feel bad.)
* rules of engagement: didn't remember this one at all. in which apophis had set up a mock sg team boot camp for his soldiers to practice infiltrating the sgc. no strong feelings.
* forever in a day: the one where sha're dies. actually very well done, but i'm glad i checked the summary or all the out of order stuff would have confused me a lot. sets up the search for the harcesis child, or however you spell that, the captions are not reliable because they appear to believe in the word "asguard" as opposed to "asgard".
* past and present: you know, i wouldn't have said the return of linnea would interest me at all, but it was actually very well done. wrapped up nicely.
* jolinar's memories / the devil you know: a two-parter i definitely didn't remember, in which everybody is good under torture, we seem to have taken care of sokar for the moment, and apophis returns, now with a phantom of the opera mask.
* foothold: never got to see this one before. wanted to. it's good. the sgc gets taken over by aliens impersonating all their people except sam and teal'c. badassery ensues. also maybourne gets to be a halfway decent guy for a flickering second.
and that is as far as i have gotten! season three is being kind of boring. seasons four and five have many more of the episodes I'm looking forward to.

Various idw villains in sg, in my opinion:
Tarn: mixed tones of red and orange, some white, i just realized those are commonly considered medic colors in baseline and i am KEEPING IT. Blue optics. A simplified version of the mask, but still a mask. Hides his insecurity under a false confidence (and his mask) and an intense focus on the Decepticon code, may i gift him "i can fix this"–itus? Still obsessed with Megs, but unlike baseline it's more benign.
Sunder: navy blue and richer teal. Orange optics. His vibes are insanely off but he's secretly a himbo who means well, which isn't viewed upon so nicely in the sg autobots. Torn between replacing mnemosurgery with some other flavor of doctor, or having him reluctantly be a mnemosurgeon who tries to use his job for good like baseline Chromedome (angst time???)
Froid: black and gold with deep blue highlights. Mist blue optics. He's just a little guy™️ who's got a "I'm not paid enough for this shit" attitude, but he means his best for his patients. I like to think his theories are different in sg, but I'm unsure how to strike a balance between still keeping influences from Freud and it being less evil than what Froid's theories are in baseline.
Getaway: primarily black and deeper red/vivid green. Amber orange optics. Still an escapeologist, pretty amiable and sees good in everyone (despite being surrounded by assholes in the sg autobots). Would be immensely funny if, instead of being good at pretending to be a good guy, he's bad at pretending to be a bad guy.
Pharma: I'm squinting at my reference for him which is Not My Fave but I'm thinking of him maybe being charcoal gray, grape juice stain purple, and green or white highlights? Red optics. As far as his personality he used to be more confident but now he's a skittery thing, he downplays his several accomplishments and always puts others first (even if it means he's in a shit sandwich like SG Delphi). After Delphi he works with Tyrest for a while, which isn't ideal, and i feel like his behavior at this stage is like baseline but without the murder. He will get help.
Tyrest: maybe primarily a wine purple and tropical blue with a light brown-gray? Light lavender or white optics. i admit i haven't thought much about sg Tyrest as his personality is stickety to Shatter, but i feel like it's similar to baseline but minus the murder. He's haunted by his actions and up the shit crick without a paddle, but he'll get better i swear.
Atomizer: tropical green and sea blue with silver highlights? Blue or purple visor. sg Getaway's ride or die. Wow there's like nothing on tfwiki in his summary, so I'm going to make shit up and suggest in SG he's the skeptical type. I can see him having Opinions on some of getaway's plans but generally still helping
Scorponok: whoo boy why is he so many colors. Mostly yellow and red, replace the bright blue with bright red and keep the black? Definitely a blue visor. if i Shatter him, would he be a more benevolent scientist who cares for his creations type?
Trepan: i am absolutely lost on his personality because on one hand since he's so entwined with functionism and medical warcrimes i want to Make Him Worse, but on the other hand i want to see what it'd take to twist him away from that in Shattering his personality. Oh and color palette wise so far in tinkering he looks best with his brown swapped for a nice blue and yellow optics swapped for magenta/pink
Overlord: this sort of peach color with blue optics. Absolute sweetheart gentle giant in SG, probably.

Damn, I really want to see AU on IDW1 where Orion Pax was empyrated, making him break down and become bitter, angry, even cruel and sadistic, mnemosurgery on Megatron (that was done by Trepan in one of issues of MTMTE) was finished, but not perfectly - he still vs Senate, but was brainwashed to thinking that violence is not the answer. In the end, Orion proclaims himself Prime after killing Sentinel and taking his (false) Matrix and wages war vs those that didnt accept him as a leader. Megatron, with help of senator Shockwave (who wasn't empyrated), starts resistance against Optimus Prime.
(This is basically IDW1 SG, but worse - like, Prowl, Bumblebee and others would decepticons, bc they would be same characters, same with Soundwave and Starscream - they're same characters, but autobots)

Sg Trepan
Loud, brash and abrasive, SG Trepan prefers to act first and leave the thinking for later. Don’t be fooled by his less than average height and slender frame, this bot thinks with his fists and can make the best of what he’s got.

On the subject of sentinel, he shadowplayed OP in the SG verse right? How did that go? How did sentinel use him? Did OP end up getting independent and end killing him?
Tumblr media
Oh it went along swimmingly in Sentinel’s opinion!
The catalyst for SG was a moment in time where Shockwave pursued Megatron first before he came into contact with OP. It was he who found Megatron’s writings outside OP’s station and he immediately knew Megatron’s exile was political and sought to do everything in his power to try and bring Megatron back home. In doing so, he prevented Trepan’s Mnemosurgery attempt on Megatron and saved Terminus life, meaning Megs never had to suffer that loss which hardened him.
However, his absence from earth at that point meant no one was there to help OP when he was imprisoned for his outburst in Senate, no political friend in high places to break him out, no one to help stoke the fire of rebellion he had, and he was at Sentinel’s complete mercy! It wasn’t too hard, Sentinel simply ‘bought’ OP’s freedom (You were misguided son, but he’s here to help), but had agent provocateurs initiate an attack on the prison transport vehicle which carried with it some members of OP’s loyal men including Roller/Springarm, who he ordered killed. OP he wanted critically injured, but alive.
He took over ‘care’ of OP after that, the Mnemosurgery was hidden behind the facade of a procedure needed to relieve cranial bleeding, and OP’s loss of an eye was attributed to the attack as well (it was intentionally removed to have a prosthetic installed as a failsafe), and the played up the role of deeply concerned and caring mentor throughout OP’s healing period.
After that it wasn’t too hard to get OP to believe that ‘rebels’ against the system had gone too far, that they were behind what happened to OP and the deaths of Roller and Springarm who were good, decent men, and that OP’s attempt to try and break ranks and befriend/trust/work with them them was a ruse, that he was used as a pawn for them to get an advantage over the system which promised order and peace.
He just kept chipping away at OP’s empathy bit by bit, feeding him cold fury with those feelings of betrayal and the idea that OP could not trust anyone except Sentinel, who always had his best interests at hearty even when he was going ‘astray’ (Your memory’s going to be a little fuzzy from the head injuries son, but don’t you worry, you’ll recover just right with him by your side).
OP quickly becomes Sentinel’s dragon/guard dog of sorts, his best and most loyal enforcer.
However, there are things Sentinel’s brainwashing just couldn’t get rid of, such as OP’s inability to see his men as expendable, which Sentinel keeps trying (and failing) to tell him is sometimes a necessity (OP will never have it), and the occasional spates of frustration he feels about the system he’s been told is a necessity for the country to stay strong amid a still-rebuilding world.
At some point, OP does grow more independent after continuing clashes with Megatron, whose memory Sentinel as tried to scrub out entirely, but it’s something he has to be very careful about because his eye is a failsafe that ensures Sentinel knows what he’s doing and who he’s speaking to at all times, and he has to figure out a way to circumvent that without removing it (which would immediately alert Sentinel to An Issue).

・*+.Fanfiction Recs.+*
Continuity by ladydragon76
Rated M, 13k one-shot, G1, the best MegaRatch thing to ever be written
Ratchet is transported to the past in an accident and who’s the one to find him but a young Megatronus? He comes to find the poet and inspirational leader someone he wants to spend time with and completely forgets all about trying to find his way home. The focus on pre-war Megatron is just 👌👌👌 there are no words. Even if you don’t ship it, give it a try. You might be shipping it by the end (which is amazing btw).
Terms of Service by @xenargon
Rated T, 137k, TFP/RiD, the reason I like sparkling fics now
This fic make my aroace heart happy with the decided lack of blatant shippiness and sexuality. Still, it primarily features WaveWave and follows them in a post-war space adventure with the other Decepticons. There are elements here borrowed from the Metroid video games but since I’ve never played it was like reading an original story with my favorite robots hehe. Very compelling, very plot driven, and the characters are so well done it was like watching the show. The baby is just a delightful bonus! There’s a sequel currently in the works as well.
Déjà Vu by MooseKababs
Rated M, 115k, TFP/RiD, one of the best fanfics I’ve ever read
I ugly cried at the end, it was so good. If you want a fix-it for KOBD that simultaneously gives us an in-depth look into their past and how they got together, then this is the fic for you. Follows along the plot of RiD from Knockout’s perspective and gives a much needed look at Cybertron during all that chaos. Also has a flashback every other chapter to the war pre-Earth. Might as well be canon, that’s how solid the writing is. Shout out to my boi Sunstreaker who finally gets addressed. I’ve cited this on a post before as my go-to comfort fanfic even though I’ve never reread it. I should though. I might now that I’m thinking about it haha.
Taking it Further by @dangerouslyclassyhottub
Rated M, 112k, IDW Lost Light, also one of the best fanfics I’ve ever read
This fanfic is everything to me lol. It’s one of the few fanfics I’ve ever reread because it’s the best. Primarily features ThunderRod with a notable amount of Dratchet and some other ships sprinkled in. Basically what would happen if Rodimus initiated a secret relationship with the Greatest Autobot and would do anything to keep it secret. I was frustrated with the two of them like the whole story. Himbos who can’t be honest with their feelings. Lots of pining even though they’re literally sleeping together. Getaway is an ass as usual but it’s delightfully devious. It’s a great read. Inspired by Taking Its Toll by kibahshi which is also very good for a PWP.
Ultra Magnus Drabbles by charivari
Rated M, 68k, IDW Lost Light, incomplete but that doesn’t take away from the story
A collection of drabbles all focused on, you guessed it, Ultra Magnus. Primarily features RodiMags and MiniMegs, but there are a lot of other little ships here and there. They really satisfy my polyamorous ass haha. It follows a linear pattern; most of the drabbles are connected. Amazing Shattered Glass drabbles. This fic is the reason SG!Minimus is my favorite SG character now hehe. Another one of the few fanfics I’ve reread, it’s that good.
Kill Your Heroes by Eisengrave and selwyn
Rated M, 138k, IDW, the reason I love Tarn as a character now
This is a roleplay thread in fanfic form that focuses on a post-war Cybertron where Tarn becomes one of the world’s leaders. Primarily features Pharma/Tarn, with some tasteful MegOp on the side and a brief dabble in Overlord/Trepan. It is by no means an example of how relationships should be, but it was delightfully tasty in the evil Tarn department. It also inspired me to search for a TF roleplay partner of my own! Now I have a new fwiend lol
