Then I think Aru and Marshall would fuck shit up. The world is not ready for them together.

Rosalind and Aiden. There is a half-written post in my drafts about how similar they are to each other. They would get along really well. I also think that Rosalind would be very wary of Rudy and they could talk about him together.

Phoebe and Brynne as best friends or worst enemies. There is no in between. I can also imagine Orion and Brynne being friends (they are strong™️)

I can see Alisa, Phoebe, Sheela, and Nikita playing the annoying girl game too.

Listed: M. Sage

Colorado musician, artist and educator Matthew Sage produces a unique form of ambient music, one that focuses on personal experience rather than obscure intellectual objectives or new age mysticism. Through both his own sounds and those he curates via his Cached Media imprint his goal is to unearth the beauty within the seemingly mundane. With Paradise Crick, his latest and most fully formed release, he casts his gaze on the great outdoors, envisaging a camping excursion. In his review, Bryon Hayes found that the record was “his most visceral work, as he ornaments his typically ambient palette with an assortment of palpable shapes, colors, and textures.” In addition to making music, Sage also enjoys seeking it out, often from non-traditional sources. For this edition of Listed, he runs down some of the more interesting records that he picked up on recent thrift store diving excursions.

10 recent thrift store finds in no particular order — I hit the flea markets and thrift stores once or twice a month and get weird CDs and cassettes. I like buying stuff that I would otherwise listen to on streaming… or never listen to from these local companies. We have CD players in our vehicles and I listen to CDs a lot driving. Cassettes mainly happen in my office when I am writing or drawing. So… a lot of what I look for is sort of “functional music” that I can do stuff to. I also snag up favorites from bands I love… I found 3 Wilco CDs at one shop last week!

Anyway, here are some recent favs.

Bonnie “Prince” Billy — Master and Everyone

Found in Longmont at the thrift store with the curated CD selection. Long time BPB fan, and I especially like how subdued this one is. Maybe not my all-time fav Oldham out there, but it’s great and the CD is in great shape.

The New American Orchestra — Blade Runner Soundtrack

Found at one of the flea markets in Fort Collins. Maybe the one with the lavender? This is an orchestral adaptation of the original Vangelis score, and it is about as smooth jazz as it gets. Incredible sweeping melodies. This version of “Blade Runner Blues” feels like something hiding on “In a Silent Way.” Ambient jazz for sure.

Chet Baker — Let’s Get Lost

Another one from the Longmont spot. Been obsessed with Chet Baker for a while now in that when I don’t know what I want to listen to, I just throw on any Chet’s greatest hits album and feel content. I love the arrangement on “My Ideal” with the toy piano and Chet’s voice and trumpet.

John Coltrane — The Gentle Side of John Coltrane

Also from the Longmont spot. I, of course, love wailing Coltrane. But I also think his sweet songs are some of his best. “After the Rain” is especially informing some of the arrangement choices I’ve been making on some new Fuubutsushi songs.

Shanghai Film Symphony Orchestra — An Dun (Calming the Emotions)

I buy a lot of random CDs like this, and I can’t remember where exactly this one came from. But yeah, foreign/new age/private press, etc. weird CDs… and most of the time they aren’t great… but this one is very good. When I find something like this that I like I google it later. When I did that with this CD, I found it on YouTube and this is my favorite comment about it: “Whenever I play this on a construction site, at first the guys complain. Then later they thank me for playing it. Saying they've never felt better.” My toddler seems to enjoy it in the car… I do too.

Claude Debussy — Images pour Orchestre. Preludes: La Fille aux Cheveaux de Lin

70 minutes of Debussy from Longmont ARC. Lots of solo piano from Peter Schmalfuss. I like that these recordings feel soft. Sometimes classical piano feels really hard, lots of attack, almost like microscopic. These recordings are more spacious. Chris from Fuubutsushi swears by Ravel, but I am team-Debussy.

Georgia Kelly — Seapeace: Music for Harp

Can’t remember where but found this in Colorado in a stash of pretty heady new age tapes. Later found out it’s a cult classic. It is a self-released one — the album was later reissued on other formats by new age labels — so I love knowing Ms. Kelly herself released this copy into the world and it has since ended up in my possession. The whole thing is on YouTube!

English Meadow: Environments — Environments 1, 4, 12: Slow Ocean, English Meadow, Intonation

I have all the Environments titles on LP and have since started collecting cassettes when I see them in the wild. These 3 are specifically my favorite Environments, so finding them all in one go felt like a thrifting triumph. I feel like English Meadow specifically sounds nice on cassette.

Seo Changbin: on your drive thru date

It was your usual date night with Binnie. You both settle in some pyjamas before hoping into his car to get some dinner.

"You want the Shanghai meal again?" Changbin asked as you guys pulled up to the restaurant's window.

"Yes, large chips and a large coke and a chocolate sundae please," you answer.

"Damn, my baby knows how to eat," Changbin replies back in his baby voice as he smiles at you.

"You're so annoying," you rolled your eyes before giving him the same smirk.

After receiving your food Changbin drives to a carpark you guys always park at, to eat and talk.

"You going to feed me?" He asked fluttering his eyes at you. And you do. You grab some fries and reach your hand over to his mouth. He looked so cute with his face full of food you couldn’t help but cup his cheek as you just stare at him in awe.

You are in-love. Everything about this just feels so right. Shutting out the world and just spending your time copped up in Changbin’s small car talking about sweet nothings means so much to you. And you couldn’t wait to do this forever with him.

"I love it here with you," he breaks the silence, leaning into your hand.

"I love you," you say moving in towards him.

"I love you more," he replied, pressing a chaste kiss to your lips.

The next morning you and Changbin woke up to his manger blowing up your phones.

“What is it hyung?” Changbin answered as he finally stir out of his sleep.

“The public released some photos of you and Y/N from last night.. it’s on their instagram—”

“—Hold on let me see!” Changbin jumps out of bed in a panic causing you to flinch.

“What is it Bin?” You asked, confused, sitting up as you watch him jump around the room.

“Okay, but we look cute,” he says after closely looking at his phone.

“What is it, show me,” you jump out of bed just like he did, reaching for the device.

You chuckle when you see the photos and register what was happening. There was photos of you and Changbin’s cheeks full of food sitting in his car all over the internet. Someone caught you guys last night.

“Oh gosh, we do look so cute,” you agreed smiling up at your perfect boyfriend.

Lee Yongbok/Felix: during a shoot

"We will resume in a couple minutes Felix," the shoot leader says as she gathers her laptop and ushered the shoot team out with her to attend an emergency meeting.

You got off the comfy stool they have just personally assigned to you and made your way over to Felix. It was the third time you had come with him for a shoot and it always blows your mind how perfect they make him look.

"Take a photo it'll last longer," he jokingly says as he notices your staring. You giggle before quickly pulling out your phone from your back pocket to snap photos.

"I should be taking photos of you baby," he says pulling you by the arm and placing you on his lap.

"They always know how to make you look so good," you say, admiring his appearance once again, this time closer. You could see every freckle, every imperfections, every perfections, everything thing.

"It's because they knew my baby was going to be here today," he replies back tapping your nose with his finger.

"I like it alot," your hand reaches out to his face but you let it back down to your lap before you could touch him, afraid your were going to ruin his make up.

"You can touch, it's okay baby," he notices your hesitation and guides your hand back on his face, cupping his cheek.

"Pretty prince," you complimented, with a smile.

“Yeah, Y/N’s pretty prince,” Felix replied, wrapping his arms around your waist tighter.

Felix always knows how to make you feel noticed and loved. Just him guiding your hand back onto his face was all it took to make your tiny heart flutter endlessly. You can’t help but smile at the perfect boy in front of you, staring at him like he was your everything.

“Yeah, is that us?” Felix says as you both were lying in his bed, done and tired from his full day of work.

“What?!” You say looking over to his phone to see that the sweet moment you guys shared before in the studio was captured and posted every where online “Oh my, was that just from before?”

“I mean, whoever posted this is going to get into trouble but why do you look so in-love with me?!” Felix joked, observing the photos.

“Look at you! You’re staring at me! You’re the one that’s in-loved,” You replied back with giggles.
