Evolution of Clothing Part 1 - Pre-Abandonment

This series of post was inspired by a post on r/worldbuilding about how to modernise clothing without Westernising the clothing. I'm using the Søkdne'ød/Sø̆kø̄d culture of SKE to explore this because textile and fashion history are things my brain likes.

Søkdne'ød are a semi-aquatic species who were initially seeded in a tropical region.

In Pre-Abandonment era, their creators provided basic scrubs a part of payment for serving them so adult men and women of the Søkdne'ød wore scrubs. Clothing for children was not provided so children either wore:

A unused scrub top as a tunic

A tunic made from two lengths of fabric half stitched together and tied at the waist. This could be made from the legs of worn out trousers, other fabric they had traded for or even loosely woven fabric made from grass.

The lack of differentiation between women and men's clothing, the basic tunic they have adopted and the shape of the scrubs will core aesthetic for the Søkdne'ød going forward.

In the same way that the basic required garments of Bronze age Europe can be seen to evolve into the core garments of 2023, this set of garments will evolve.
