William Frederick Yeames (1835-1918)
"And When Did You Last See Your Father?" (1878)
Oil on canvas
Located in the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool, England
The oil-on-canvas painting, depicts a scene in an imaginary Royalist household during the English Civil War. The Parliamentarians have taken over the house and question the son about his Royalist father (the man lounging on a chair in the centre of the scene is identifiable as a Roundhead officer by his military attire and his orange sash).
Yeames was inspired to paint the picture to show the crises that could arise from the natural frankness of young children. Here, if the boy tells the truth he will endanger his father, but if he lies he will go against the ideal of honesty undoubtedly instilled in him by his parents.
The boy in the picture is based on Thomas Gainsborough's painting The Blue Boy. It was modelled by Yeames's nephew, James Lambe Yeames. Behind the boy, there is a girl, probably the daughter, waiting her turn to be questioned. The girl was based on Yeames's niece, Mary Yeames. At the back of the hall at left the mother and elder daughter wait anxiously on the boy's reply.
The scene is neutral: while the innocence of the boy is emphasized by his blond hair, open expression and blue suit, the questioners are also treated sympathetically; the main interrogator has a friendly expression, and the sergeant with the little girl has his arm on her shoulder as if comforting her.

Fenris: ugh, yeah I know. Fucking bastards, all.
Sebastian: we should turn them in, it's our duty to the Maker
Fenris: absolutely not, what the fuck is wrong with you? Actually if you so much as look at Hawke wrong I'm going to kill you.
Sebastian: HAWKE IS A MAGE???

Remembering that time when I was five and didn’t even know filters existed—never mind knowing how to stop talking—and I was out with my grandmother (divorced from my grandfather) having a lovely day in a lovely little Maine town in the 90s.
The thing about Maine in the 90s was certain things like smoking weed was illegal across the country and generally frowned upon, but Mainers simply Did Not Care and more than happily grew and smoked pot anyway. The other thing about Maine is most of those Lovely Little Towns are constantly full of out of state tourists coming to buy kitch and eat lobster. These tourists tended to be from states that generally did not have the same attitude about pot as Mainers did. It was still considered a Very Bad Thing To Do.
So when my five year old self saw an older gentleman smoking a classic tobacco pipe amongst a crowd of tourists I remarked, on the top of my lungs, that my grandfather had a pipe too! Not that kind of pipe, though!
There was literally a beat of shocked silence before my grandmother laughed a little too loudly and said something about it being a different color or some nonsense. Of course no one, like, ratted out my five-year-old self and my grandfather out to the police for that. But there were definitely some shocked button-upped folks in that lovely little town that day.
Anyway, that was the one and only time I was a snitch.

DP Writing Prompt
So what happens if Danny ends up as the key/only witness to a crime? The kind that is able to pin a major gang/drug/mafia/etc lord with his testimony.
Well?
Snitches Get Stitches.
I just love the idea that some head of a cartel orders the offing of this random kid on the streets. But he gets more than he bargained for when not only does the kid pack a punch, he just wont. stay. dead.
--------
This could end up as a very intricate story with so many plot points. Because consider this:
He gets to witness the horrors of what the crime lord is up to.
Danny's family could be threatened. Which if you like angst could end up as more than just a threat.
Hit men might not be able to take him out.
He might find out just how much the justice department is not on his side (threats, a la Eipstein jail visits, etc).
His refusal to die could put him on major goverment radar beyond just the GIW.
He might go on a crusade, either against the crime lord OR the justice department. His skills are peak infiltration weapons against people who don't know about ghosts.
It can be combined with any other AU, including, but not limited to immortality, cryptid/eldritch horror, CORPSE. (Imagine the hitman's face when he KNOWS he left Danny Fenton's dead body behind.)
It has great potential for a crossover with non-supernatural shows like cop/doctor/lawyer shows.

I'm just being bitter and ranting at this point, but I love how in every corporate job I've had I've been snitched on by a coworker for reading books, complaining about something, taking too many bathroom breaks, whatever. I have literally never snitched on anyone despite seeing some shit and some people make it their entire personality to get involved in office politics and police what their coworkers are doing.
Most of my coworkers have been cool people, but some of them were definitely the "teacher, you forgot to assign homework!" kids in school. Guess that translates to a lack of worker solidarity, smh. Marx is crying.

Four Line Friday
Thanks for the tag, @puuvillaa !
Sirius feels like a jagged edge, like a piece of something irreparable broken. He feels like he has to move carefully, like he might cut his skin on the edges of himself, like he is the one most likely to hurt himself.
It is dulled with Remus pressed against him, better still with Remus’s knot in him, but the knot fades and Sirius cannot stay glued to Remus’s side all night. He can already feel Remus starting to move away, stretching and shifting and leaving their cozy little bundle in the bed, and he has an urge to beg Remus to stay. “Are you ready to go meet my mam?”
