JULY 2021 IN PICTURES
JULY 2021 IN PICTURES
Mid-summer madness (a la Auntie Mame)! Only two more months and I’ll be caught up on these retrospective looks at the year that has been. Walks & Sights in New Hampshire An odd month in that, partly due to constant rain, I did only two “trail” walks — Kezar Lake (Sutton) and the Society for the Preservation of New Hampshire Forests (SPNHF) in Concord. The rest of the days I walked in…

Hellfire Requirements
Hi friends,
since this tiny idea is getting more traction than I expected I just wanted to lay out some clarifications.
The purpose of this cult is to boost smaller or new SPN fan blogs.
By following and using the #spnhellfire tag you can share your content more easily with others. You tag your posts with it and other members will see it. Essentially it’s about getting to know more fans and talk about Supernatural. That doesn’t mean that a bigger blog can’t follow or use the tag, everyone is welcome. You can also just follow it to see what’s new.
Requirements below
This tag is different to the general spn tags (#supernatural, #spn, etc.) in the way that if you join the tag you are part of a little fan group, meaning you can always message me about things and you are also open to making new friends.
Requirements:
No (w)incest; this is not a platform for that content; I don’t support it
Mature content is welcome but if it is explicit pls also tag your post as #nsfw
No apparent hate, be mindful and respectful
You can unfollow it anytime
You don’t have to follow me or others unless you want to, you just have to use the tag
If you want to be on my affiliates list on the blog just send me a submission but you don’t have to, it’s mainly so I can remember you and gauge your content (I do want to get to know you, have a name)
Any type of content is welcome (writing, art, GIFs, graphics, meta etc.)
You don’t have to reblog everything in the tag (but it would defeat the purpose if you only post)
Check in on the tag at least weekly
Invite others, the more the merrier!
I think that is it for now, if you have any ideas or questions just message me. You can call me Em or M. I won’t bite.
I literally created this tag yesterday so it is a work in progress. I’m guessing the information list will also be updated if it’s something important.
Take care everyone!

Succumbing to Monson
EASY.                                                        Historic, hiking, biking, xc skiing snowshoeing. I usually resist posting about well known, popular, trails around us. My followers asked that I explore the Monson community trails in Milford, NH. We were not disappointed. Monson Village was one of New Hampshire’s first inland towns settled by Europeans. In 1735 six settlers from…

The Trees of Bretzfelder Park
Tumblr media
SPNHF host local naturalist David Govatski The Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forest's presentation titled "The Trees of Bretzfelder Park" is on August 22nd. The free program is open to the public and is part of the annual summer Bretzfelder Park Family Educational Series. The presentation at Bretzfelder Park will begin at 7 PM. Learn how to identify the trees of Bretzfelder Park on this short walk at the park. You will learn the simple techniques to tell the difference between a red and sugar maple or a spruce and balsam fir. We will discuss why trees grow where they do and how to keep them healthy. We will look at the tools a forester uses for measuring the age and diameter of trees. You will hear the story of the large white pine that is central to the Park where Charles Bretzfelder used to relax and listen to the brook and see the Tree Identification Trail which is open for use year round. About David Govatski of Jefferson, New Hampshire retired from the US Forest Service after a 33-year career as a Fire and Aviation Management Officer, Forester and Silviculturist. He worked in Colorado, Vermont, Michigan, Oregon, Maine and New Hampshire and has a Bachelor of Science in Forest Management from Unity College in Maine. He has a  Certificate of Advanced Studies in Silviculture from the US Forest Service and has a strong interest in forest management and co-authored "Forests for the People: The Story of the Eastern National Forests". His articles on forest history have appeared in several magazines and he is a frequent guest speaker and trip leader. He has worked as a ship naturalist in Alaska and Iceland and will be returning to Alaska in 2019 as a naturalist on the Inside Passage route. Read about other Rocks Estate events from this year here. spnhellfire update
I think I should make formal introductions (the info you send in through the submission) from now on about blogs that officially send in a submission to join the group... just so y’all know who is new in this hell hole. What do you think?
There is a lot to do within this tag. You guys should also talk to each other (ask horribly private questions like “what are your childhood traumata?”)! See if you find a new frenemy.
I also should make a member list on my blog with content categories to see who posts what but, pff who has time to code an entire page? Me, I should have time to do that. We shall see what I’ll dig up.

Hellfire Update!
Hi, hello, it is your crash-and-burn admin and cult creator, M.
I was thinking that I am actually a horrible admin lmao. I think Misha once said that he is more of the sort of person who comes up with the ideas and then lets others have fun with it and I’m much the same. So I was wondering if any capable hands want to take care of this devil’s baby (the Hellfire Cult)? I would ofc still be around and we can bounce off ideas and such. For example how to find a better way to recruit new members besides sharing the word of God.
Most of the time I just glance through the spn tags and message new content creators personally (I feel like a military scout sometimes or a talent agency). So as an admin you would probably need to do things like that. Not all the time of course, just when you have time.
What are the privileges and pros of being a cult leader/admin? Well, you are a leader and you can totally let that go to your head and make everyone call you things like ‘Overlord’ coughcoughMr.Collinscough. I’ll pay your weight in gold. You can feel accomplished by helping and creating a network to have fun with other SPN fans, philosophise about the bigger picture of the world.
I hope you know I’m joking. Being an admin also means if ppl have questions they can come to you. And if we have new members you have to announce them, if we start new projects you’ll also have to introduce them. I’m planning to make this group way more interactive (weekly prompts, art requests/ tutorial requests). So if you think you have the experience of being a martyr then you are welcome to be an admin, too.
I went through the #spnhellfire tag and... when did we accumulate so much content holy f*ck!? I love you all so much. Btw if you want to check out the content there is a content table on my navi page (I’m still updating it). I’m also going to make a separate member/ network page for the Hellfire Cult this week and I’ll finally cram all of you into one space so you feel less like fly-aways.
Just message me if you are interested, meanwhile I’ll boil in my own stew.
Stay safe, M xxx

Hey what's a Picture Post anyways? It's a platform for taking repeat digital photographs of the landscape to document change & help better protect the natural environment. This one is in NH on the Monadnock-Sunapee Greenway owned by the Society for the Protection of NH Forests. When you're hiking the trail, please stop by and take a set of pics! #unhalumni #spnhf #monadnocksunapeegreenway #citizenscience (at Stoddard, New Hampshire)
