so glad that i didnt make stobins little interactions up. saw someone say how steve was like dick out pissing and robin was just for the love of god redirect ur stream pls 🙏. robin told him when and why she peed her pants. steve tells her about his sex life. robin tells him to just 'be himself' and he tells her the same thing. they sat as near as the possibly could to each other at the tigers game. the muppet joke. 'robin i kinda wanna punch u' 'good thing ur sense of humour is still intact 😻'. them mocking and making fun of each other. platonic with a capital p. robin calling out for steve first when the vines get her. steve looking at robin just before he gets pulled under in lovers lake. robin ready to punch a man when eddie has steve up against the wall. steve drives her to work and school even though he thought she could do it herself. their whole big talk when they were making weapons outside the rv. holding hands in the rain. applying for and working at family video together. literally have stated that they wish they could just combine. 'what does he want us to do applaud 🙄 <33'. following each other around family video just chatting. robin feeling comfortable enough to come out to him. steve accepting her for who she is and instantly making her feel comfortable. 'should u strangle him or should i? 'we could take turns?? <33'. watching back to the future absolutely zoinked out of their minds but together. robin checking up on steve and rubbing his back after eddie got him whilst everyone else just goes straight to eddie. 'how many children r u friends with 🤔?'. their interactions in rebel robin. robin rubbing steves back in the vol2 reunion. steve being so happy for robin when he sees her flirting with vickie. everybody thinks theyre dating but theyre just horribly codependent. 'platonic with a capital p'. like just wow. Them.

I think it’d be really great, personally, if Steve one day dressed like he used to just to fuck with everyone, only for Eddie to absolutely love it.
I’m talking the ridiculously high and over-gelled hair, super preppy shirt with a little preppy collar, and khakis. The whole suburban goodie-goodie ‘I’ll have your daughter home by 8′ experience. The King Steve™ chic.
The kids all howl when they see him. Dustin pretends to gag. Max asks if Steve lost a bet. Mike appears seconds from a breakdown, because the last time he saw Steve like this was when he was dating his sister, and lord help him if that headache returns to his life. It’s pure pandemonium. Robin cracking joke after joke between her loud, wheezy laughs doesn’t help, either.
The only one who seems to be without a snarky comment is Eddie, because while he does agree with the peanut gallery that this version of Steve looks way-too-stuffy and borderline dorky, it’s also the version he originally fell for. He watched this Steve command the halls of Hawkins High and pined after him with reckless teenage abandon. He grew up knowing nothing ever could possibly happen between him and someone dressed like that, but still secretly dreaming about it when pre-calc got too confusing or Gareth’s rants about his little sister ventured into boring territory. This Steve had hooked Eddie from the start. This Steve had been his teenage dream.
So, when Steve saunters up to Eddie in his khakis and stuffy shirt, gazing up at him with the tender eyes of the newer, softer, caring Steve Eddie’s come to know and secretly love, asking for his opinion? Well, Eddie doesn’t quite feel like keeping his feelings secret anymore. Instead of commenting on his clothes, Eddie chooses to rumple them in his fist and pull Steve impossibly close to plant the very same passionate kiss he dreamed of delivering in high school to his lips.
Imagine Eddie’s delight when, soon after, he finds the new Steve, his Steve, smiling back as if the kiss were his high school dream, too.

I’m so sorry to be the one to remind you but. Regardless of if you ship them or not, Nancy wanted to fuck Steve in season 1. She went shopping for cute clothes to wear on a date with him, she wore a new bra when she went over to his house, she told him to turn around and took her top off in front of him. She wanted to fuck him!! I’m sorry!!!

kept awake by the fact that mike didn’t even TRY and hit the water when he stepped off the cliff at the quarry. like he didn’t even try. he just stepped off the edge. he didn’t even leap or run. he just stood there and finally stepped off, as if he’d been on the edge for awhile, both literally/physically and metaphorically/mentally.
like what was it that Powell and Callahan said about Joyce in season 1? Yknow, the only other person alongside Mike who believed Will was still alive and therefore they’re paralleled to eachother in that way and likely other ways? Oh right, they said:
“Joyce? About one step from falling off the edge.”
“She’s been a few steps for awhile now, hasn’t she?”
Just like Mike. Mike literally at the quarry was one step away from falling off the edge (he STEPPED OFF, FELL OFF, he didn’t jump, just like how Joyce has been a “few steps” from “falling off” the edge), but stood there for a fair while/walked up to it and was literally “a few steps away for awhile” from it. this applies not only physically to Mike but also mentally/emotionally. It took so little to make Mike step off the edge because mentally he’d already been on that edge for awhile, already been a “few steps from the edge.”
like do we really think this specific wording related to Joyce’s grief and depression is just coincidental in how it aligns exactly with Mike’s actions? That they chose to write those lines in that specific way for fun? That they chose to have Mike STEP off the edge instead of jump off because they were in a silly goofy mood? Do you think that they connected Mike’s actions to Joyce’s grief over Will via that quote and then ALSO had mike step off at the EXACT same spot where Will was though to have died all accidentally?? Because the duffers tripped and dropped that subtext in there? NO! It’s deeper than Dustin’s baby teeth for Mike, deeper than the bullies. It’s about grief and loss and depression and Mike’s self-sacrificing but also self-loathing nature and his difficulty with processing loss and strange tendency to both catastrophize AND be good in a crisis. (hint: he’s probably so good in crises BECAUSE of how his brain catastrophizes and goes to the worst case scenario, because it means that he’s more ready for that worst case scenario. but it also leads to him being READY to do ‘worst case scenario’ things like stepping off of a cliff to his death.)
Michael “‘See? Physics!’ in s3” Wheeler very likely knew that he wouldn’t hit the water with the way he ‘jumped’ (key point: he didn’t jump, he stepped off) He Knew. It was never just about the baby teeth.

Thinking about how Jonathan Byers, at 15, was making pancakes for his little brother and showed him the song that saved him in the UD and took care to distract him when their parents were fighting and saw his friendship with Mike well enough to think he’d just stayed the night and made enough posters to hang them up all over school and ate up any hints he could get that maybe, just maybe, his baby brother was alive…but then the stupid government pulled that stunt with the fake body and made him think he had to organize and host his little brother’s funeral by himself while his mom was out losing her mind

thinking about barb and nancy + that 'it didnt have to end this way vs it was always going to' post. because at first glance, it DIDNT have to end that way. barb could have lived and loved and her and nancy would be happy. if nance had gone home with barb, or declined steves invitation, she would still have her best friend. but then, when you look deeper into it - it did have to happen. if barb hadnt died nancy would still have heels in her shoebox instead of a gun, and the pretty pink wallpaper coating her walls, and she wouldnt have ever been able to protect hawkins. their town would have fallen a long time ago if nancy didnt go upstairs. barb is both the unstoppable force and the unmovable object. her death isolates nancy, turns her on herself, festers in the back fo her mind like a parasite - but its that same guilt that drives her forwards. nancy has to grieve to allow the anger it puts in her to fight. it was always going to end that way. barb was always going to die. nancy is a soldier, and barb is her sword, sharp and bright and cutting.

I think us Steddie fans, as a whole, have ignored the fanfic potential of Steve suggesting stripping (i.e. get this right, I strip - get this wrong, you strip) as a studying motivation in season 1.
Give me Steve suggesting it to an Eddie who is at his wit’s end studying for his last-ever test, ready to give up and not even try. Eddie’s taken so far back by the suggestion, absolutely thinking Steve has to be joking because there’s no way, he can’t be that lucky, but then Steve is staring at him dead-serious with this look of ‘...well?’ and Eddie is suddenly so much more interested in learning the ins-and-outs of quarks, atoms, and all that physics shit.
He gets a B+.
