so I know I'm in the no galladads side of the fandom but hear me out on this one—

so it's maybe five years after the end of the show, Ian and Mickey are still going with their security business, maybe they've even branched out and hired some extra help, making good money, swapped out the stolen ambulance for actual SUVs that Debbie has fixed up for them, and they've maybe even bought a house back on the South Side with a dog and a cat and they're close to all of Ian's siblings (Debbie and Carl and Liam all still live in the old Gallagher house, Lip and Tammi are a few blocks over)

and one day they're on a lunch break together, leaving some diner when some rando kid bumps into Ian, turns out it was a pickpocket, and Mickey takes off after the jerk who tried to steal from his husband (he may not be a South Side thug anymore but like hell is he gonna let that shit slide)

he knocks the pickpocket over and it's some kid, like thirteen or fourteen with bright pink streaks in her dark hair and fierce brown eyes, and Mickey is like wtf kid do you wanna die

and the kid is like oh fuck you, very much an angry kitten type because she's definitely a scrawny thing—by this time Ian's caught up to them and his bleeding heart is like look if you give me my wallet back I'll buy you lunch (Mickey complains that "we just ate, Gallagher" but Ian insists)

so they either go back to the diner or find some McDonald's and this kid practically inhales some burgers and fries, and both Mickey and Ian know the look of a kid on the streets, but she's giving off those vibes that say don't touch me don't talk to me don't fucking perceive me

but Ian probably sees something like Mickey, and Mandy, in this girl and we all know he wants to help people, so he asks her if she's okay or if she needs anything, and even though he can feel Mickey starting to grumble next to him Ian still offers her their couch to crash on after she mentions getting kicked out of a salvation army shelter because they found out she was trans

and after some very intense eye to eye communication between the husband Mickey's like okay yeah fine but if one thing is outta place in the house then we're gonna have words

and the girl—they find out her name is Starr, or something like that—is like wtf why are you people being nice (they understand the suspicion, obvs, they aren't stupid), and Ian's like uhhhh we're gay and we've gone through some shit of our own so maybe we just wanna help?? (although he does notice she relaxes a little bit when he tells her that they're gay)

so they drive back home and Starr is absolutely enamored by the gallapets (a beautiful fluffy black cat and a big pittie mix, both of these animals are Ian and Mickey's baby girls), while Ian fixes up the spare bedroom with fresh sheets—usually it's where Franny or Fred stay when they come for weekend visits

and at first Starr is like okay yeah I'll stay one night but then I gotta go, and somehow it ends up that one night turns into two, then Ian and Mickey come home one afternoon and the house looks amazing because Starr is like "yeah your place was a fucking mess so I figured I'd clean" because she's not a freeloader gdi

and before they know it she's been there for a few weeks and Ian's trying to help get her back in school, because one night they were sitting around and talking and she offhandedly said that she does kinda miss school but the last place she went they were assholes about her transition, and Mickey is like just do that homeschooling course thing that maybe Tammi talked about one of her bougie friends doing for their kids

and then it's been a month or two and they bring Starr to a Gallagher family get together—Debbie hosts the family at the house at least twice a month, but everyone's been super busy lately so it's been a while since the last family dinner—and Debs gives Starr a hug and is like "oh so you're the kid my brothers adopted" (she and Sandy worked things out btw and have been back together for a while now, they've even maybe talked about getting married)

and Starr is like oh no I'm just crashing for a bit but by this point Ian has already got her the homeschooling correspondence courses, and Mickey's taken her to find a doctor who can prescribe her HRT ("it was on our route anyway, fuck off, Gallagher") and their pets adore her—Ian jokes that their cat is the one who actually adopted Starr, they just went along with it

and basically I just love the idea of them taking care of a young queer girl, and being like the cool gay uncles, and yeah :')

So I finally figured out which way Ari would go with the romance scene and was going through it so I could I guess get back to the plot. (Yes it seems Gale popped her arm back in her socket at some point in the night).

And at the end, after all the sarxy astral plane shenanigans, it shows her back in her bedroll and I notice something in the corner beyond Gale's empty bedroll.

And I'm like "WAIT. WHAT WAS THAT?"

So I go through it again. And ZOOM. ENHANCE.

MF'er has not gone to sleep. He's staying up watching everyone sleep. HIS HAND OVER HIS HEART 😭

The real big reasons Old Overwatch Fell: The Public idolized them to much, and mission creep.

The orignal team did the impossible and help save the world in the Crisis. This saw the problem of them being practically deified, overstating their abilities, and put Overwatch in charge of peacekeeping in the aftermath. Not a bad idea at the start of it, but after the war, the allowance given to Overwatch… faded.

Overwatch didn't work well with all the red tape and both Gabe and Jack were maybe not suited for staff roles, not allow the same freedom, and latitude in the first war. Overwatch was built to be the Avengers, not CnC GDI, but everyone excepted them to deliver the same godlike results as before as a peacekeeping force.

And when they couldn't simply because enhanced or not, they were ultimately human? People turned on them, especially if those actually behind the failings of the world stirred the pot to cover their own backs.

Blackwatch, something that was probably approved by some of the very higher ups in the UN, that would later try to tear down Overwatch, gave people a very easy target even though Overwatch needed some sort of black ops unit if only to gather information and deal with sensitive missions that shouldn't be public. Mission creep set up a lot of groundwork for OW's fall because it meant that they were trying to be the Leviathan Force AND the Department of Everything Else at the same time

This is why I say that if Overwatch is to continue being a faction after the defeat of Talon and Null Sector it should stay a vigilante organisation, not being tied down by governments or the UN. Not only because it would allow the members of OW to actually stay and make sure things are ok with the people they help, but also because it gives members the freedom to step away from missions when they want to. They wouldn't be in charge of so much because of the fact that the organisation is so small now.

There is also the fact that with people like Cassidy working in public now I think it would be harder to deify them. You can't ignore the stuff some of the characters have done, the mistakes they made. Even if they were because of the fact that this new OW is working outside the law, it wouldn't really matter what the publics opinion of them was, they just want to do what's right.

I've also been on record criticising the OW universes UN, because they're a bunch of idiots. Both back then and in present time. Giving the soul responsibility of peacekeeping to an organisation that was not made for peacekeeping, not only that but handing control over to one individual, is idiotic at best.

Not only that but the UN refuses to actually take responsibility for anything they failed to do. With Overwatch gone the UN has the responsibility of trying to make peace between Humans and Omnics. Which they have obviously failed to do, and when Null Sector, a direct consequence of their own stupidity, come to bite them in the ass.

What do they do?

Nothing.

They do nothing and they threaten the group of people actually doing something;

Not only that but you are right, the UN must have known about Blackwatch's existence, it was a mandatory addition to Overwatch and Gabriel was assigned the position of Blackwatch commander. Blackwatch actively had bases built that were separate form Overwatch. They would have needed approval for that.

I think everyone forgot that Overwatch were human and not these god like saviours. It's why out of all the old guard Reinhardt is the only one to answer the recall, the only one to keep fighting. It didn't help that a lot of the old guard where also isolated save for a few exceptions like Cassidy, Angela and Sojourn. Overwatch became too big, too fast and was given too many responsibilities. Yes, it worked well for awhile but the foundation already had cracks.

All it took was for one big swing from Talon and the whole thing crumbled down.

I like thinking about a dungeon meshi/bg3 crossover for many reasons, but one of them is the mental image of post-canon Laios and Raphael in the same room.

Because Laios would, in all honesty, reek of demon. Just be fucking soaked in that vibe. Both for eating part of one, and the potent death curse.

Raphael being a devil would have some deeply 'ah, i see. hm' moments watching the group up to that point i think, because approaching anything to do with demons in dnd is basically an exercise in 'how fast do you wish to die'. Because in the abyss connected to the hells there, all demons want is chaos and destruction and generally horrific things that only get worse when they get past the whole 'getting out of the abyss' thing. One cursing you would imply a few things, though, and mostly the fact Laios is not a smear on the ground someplace means he was too strong to immediately kill.

Add in that in dungeon meshi, the mana used for magic is very much a 'from the demon or spirits' thing-- Falin and Marcille are gonna be also giving off Vibes.

AND THEN Add in the curse that monsters would never again willingly be around Laios, and you get a delightful moment of "ok so what does that do in faerun"

I'm running with the assumption that the curse source is far enough removed on the prime material plane that it simply gives non-thinking beings [aside animals] the willies, even if they can't tell where it's coming from.

All of which to say please imagine Raphael gritting his teeth through the worst anxiety attack a devil has ever felt while having He Who Devours All Things Horrible in his house.

Also Astarion having the weirdest case of the jitters around Laios. Not enough to throw him off, and he'd really only ID it as directly being a Laios thing AFTER Cazador is dead, but just enough to make him a little jumpy.

Tangentally related, Falin is basically a cleric. She has no god that we know of. She is just monster enough to be weird if someone sees her feathers. Shadowheart is gonna be sitting there mentally wracking her wiped brain trying to come up with whomst the fuck she belongs to.

Gale and Marcille talk about magic. This would actually go well because they're both nerds, but it WOULD end in her testing out fireball by ordering the weave to do something and Gale would be gobsmacked when it works.

Iztsumi, everyone just assumes she's a catfolk. The timeskip just meant she matured a little hanging around the castle, but she absolutely spends hours talking shit at the party. Shadowheart and her get along on snark, same with Lae'zel, but iztsumi is just like "can you guys stop bitching at one another, we were having a fun talk gdi"

Chilchuck is an old man at this point [35]. Well, more specifically he's gone grey and gained weight now that his whole deal is "run shop and visit Laios on occasion". Routinely roasts Astarion for not being handy enough with traps/locks. AKA Astarion missed 1 trap and Chilchuck has not let him live it down. It doesn't help that Astarion will just point them out, not do much about them on his own. He and Iztsumi put the poor guy through rogue bootcamp and he does not enjoy it at all. Chilchuck, though, mostly stays at camp to keep an eye on their stuff.

Also please imagine Gale being dragged through the forest to help collect forage with Senshi and ending up terribly bedraggled because the dwarf got very excited about similarities of some plants over the differences in others.

irl story time! 

so today i had a pretty packed day planned. first a quick breakfast, then a movie with my friends, then lunch at the mall, and then a date with alyssa. I was going to go to her house after and stay the night. naturally, I ate at all these situations. Here’s how it went. Warning: this is pretty long.

part 1: the movie:

At the movie, I had a pretty regular sized tub of popcorn, and one coke. Nothing too taxing for my stomach, although it did fill me up a bit given that my breakfast had been large.

part 2: the mall:

By the time we got to the mall, the popcorn was mostly digested. My friend ordered a plate of momos each for the two of us. I thought, since usually momo plates are less, I would get something else too. So I got myself a serving of noodles too. 

I hadn’t anticipated either of the portions being as large as they were. There were eight momos, and a filled-to-the-brim plate of noodles. I somehow managed to choke it all down in one sitting. I could feel my stomach grow under my shirt, so I excused myself to go to the bathroom for some tummy rubs. 

My stomach was heavy, achey, and taut to the touch. As I rubbed it, I let out a few belches too, but thankfully no one heard me. I mean, I hope they didn’t. Finally when I got back to my friends, they were discussing having some cake before departing. At first I thought to say no, but the temptation of the chocolatey slice was too much to bear, and I succumbed.

By the time we had to leave, I was stuffed to the brim. The others left fairly quick, but I opted to stroll through the mall before my date. My stomach was still struggling to digest my meal, and when I took off my shirt to try on a dress at a store, I was shocked at how distended my belly was. In fact, the dress - my usual size - didn’t even fit! Instead of trying on more clothes, I took a few into the trial rooms as an excuse, and sat there massaging my aching belly.

Finally I decided to reach the snack area where my date was. I was still quite full-feeling.

part 3: the date:

Alyssa was there already, and had ordered us some fries and a milkshake. The fries were a large plate, and every bite of them I took; every sip of thick milkshake I swallowed; my belly seemed to be protesting.

I was the one to polish off the last fry, and sat back, no longer caring where I was to burp. Thankfully there weren’t many people there. Alyssa, though, looked worried and asked if I wanted to leave - she had her car. I gladly agreed, gulping down the last painful dregs of the milkshake.

I was stuffed to the gills; my tummy was gurgling and bloated. The moment I sat in Alys’ car, I let loose a wet sounding belch. My tummy seemed to want to get all this food out of it as soon as possible.

Alys sped us home, and I pulled my now too-tight shirt off the moment we were inside. My stomach was a taut mound of flesh; it was growling and gurgling like mad, angry at the food I had stuffed into it. I felt it was going to riot soon. I was right; just two minutes later I had to run to the toilet to throw up with a few wet burps. Alys rubbed my back and, when I was done puking (and felt much better), then, my tummy. 

I had gotten rid of lots of food, and the bloating had gone down considerably. I no longer felt dangerously full. Alys and I lay on the bed, Alys giving me gentle belly rubs and kisses all over. 

Later I got the idea to type this all out for you, and here we are. The end (I’m so bad at writing endings gdi).

MC Past Relationship Tag Game

Early Family Life

First thing to clarify: Rio is transgender, and that had a huge effect on his family life. His parents and siblings thought he was just in a rebellious phase, and patiently waited for him to be done, but he could never be done.

His father had always wanted a son to share his life experience with, so Rio thought he could come out to him and make him proud. Instead, his family chased him out of the house and forbid him from returning. He had no one else to turn to, so he stayed in homeless shelters, tried to stay in school, and took every job he could until he had enough money for at least part of the reassignment surgery.

Platonic Life

Once Rio was old enough, he tried to join the military to at least have a steady roof over his head. They kicked him out before he could even truly start (for many reasons, but primarily because he was a Freak). So Rio took up jobs in security, and that is how Vesely found him and offered him his new job and home. Vesely may be vile and manipulative, but for Rio, it’s better than living out of hotels. He also meets his friends because of him, and even if he calls them annoying, he cherishes them dearly.

New Family Life

His fellow employees and patients are his family now, and he’ll defend them with his life if he has to. A soldier’s main job is to assist in picking up the assigned Freak children and bring them to Ves Corp, and it’s on one of these runs that Rio meets young, twice-orphaned, mistreated Jin. He sees what she’s going through in the orphanage, and what she has gone through with the car accident that took her arm, and he immediately adopts her. Jin is his pride and joy, and he’ll let everyone around them know it.

Romantic Life

Rio has never been romantically involved with anyone until he started working for Vesely. His company is miserable to work in sometimes, and a few of the guys there are looking for some kind of distraction. Rio offers his company, looking for his own distraction, and he has some brief flings with these guys. Frank was the guy who called him the most, and they may have become something more serious if Frank hadn’t run away out of the guilt of his work. Now, Rio’s back to his casual flings (until a tall red-headed dad appears lmao)

But then, Billy actually thinks about it, looks into all the stuff he's missed out on since falling out of Skull's orbit (abandoning him) and begins to feel like he can't breathe: going through Skull's overly full medicine cabinet, helping the nurses in the hospital bathe the blood and sweat off of the scars decorating his back and arms and legs, talking with Bulk about how thin Skull is because his family is always gone and not a lot of people were willing to hire him for odd jobs. What could Billy answer with that could make Eugene (come back) stay?

As someone with Chinese Exams this week, I will instead brain rot over Xiao being a tutor for the language because I sucked at it in the beginning.

He’s strict in trying to get me to speak and write properly, but the effort pays off when I get a near perfect on my tests.

Whenever I blow off Chinese homework in favor of slacking off, he appears with an intimidating aura. If I’ve gone out, he transforms into his bird form to retrieve me. My friends start calling him the Duolingo Bird with how often it happens. It gets worse when he starts playing into it.

“Beg for your life in Chinese!”

I wonder why he hasn’t given up on me yet. He reminds me how I wanted so badly to learn all about China because I was from the culture yet knew nothing.

When I do good on tests, we go out to celebrate. When I do bad, we stay in and watch some C-Dramas to try and get me more familiar with the tones and pronunciation.

This is me projecting because I want comfort.

[Magi rewatch] Episode 6: Warrior Tribe Fanalis [Part 1]

I feel like part of the reason I'm just UGH about having to do this, besides the obvious stuff I've mentioned 300x times, is the fact that I really want to get to the later arcs, which includes the upcoming Balbadd Arc. So I'm just sitting here. Impatiently. Bc I want to be there already, y'know? Oh well.

Also, I'm considering something a little different, partially bc reading the entire arc, and then watching the entire arc is kind of... Hmmm. It is a bit tedious, I won't lie. Plus it feels kinda weird to just do it twice one after another. The idea is, then, to so it more or less at the same time: x number of chapters, then the episode that covers them. It's both because I think it'd be a better experience for me, AND because the upcoming arcs can get pretty long. Like, we're talking 45 chapters/11 episodes for the Balbadd Arc, it just makes sense not to go through it twice. No matter how much I like these arcs, it's just too fucking long to do it that way.

I usually don't comment on this stuff, but damn, I wish more characters were allowed to have dark skin in this series. Like, it'd make more sense, like, for geography-biology reasons. But lemme tell you, Ohtaka and geography... Let's just say it's not her strong suit. Have you ever seen how she draws the world maps and the Dark Continent specifically? It makes no fucking sense. The best explanation I can provide is that it's just people imagining how the DC looks, since no one was there, as in, beyond the Rift. They're just guessing.

Anyway. Geography rant over.

In the manga their clothes look more SIndria-like bc of the lack of colors, but here you're kinda wondering. But still, my money's on Sindria bc they specifically mention that their country has no slaves, and the two notable no-slavery countries are Balbadd and Sindria. And their clothes don't look very Balbadd. Seriously, sans the colors, it looks very Sindria, actually. Then again, do all Sindria people have to wear white? So it still makes sense, I guess.

Also, seeing Leila again makes me miss Thousand Miles a bit. But that story frustrated me too much at some point. Mostly bc I've lost motivation for it, but, like, aggressively, and just kept on getting notifications for it, even though I've had some stories I was actually proud of, but nope, only that one got the attention. It became annoying over time & I ended up deleting the story completely. In case somebody recalls that story & always wondered wtf happened to it.

Also, really, Mor, bc when Aladdin says it, it's Moru-san, but if you go with Morg it's some sort of Morugi-san. Pretty different.
