Let’s talk about The Magnus Protocol logo

Or what we can see of it from the Kickstarter exclusive t-shirt design anyway. Do note, I am going to dig up everything and anything I can think of, whether it may be relevant or not. I also want to note that I am not an expert on the things I am about to reference, I have a dabbling interest in many things, and enjoy looking stuff up. Now let’s take a closer look.

I have isolated the new logo from the old Magnus Institute logo, and put it against a black background for better viewing.

The Latin text on the lower banner "Non vacillabimus", google translate gives "We will not falter" as a result. Though I've seen different interpretations/translations floating around. So I'm sure someone more versed in Latin than I am can say more on the nuances here.

The laurel wreath, which are pretty straight forward. Associated with victory, honour, peace, and achievement. Common on coats of arms and crests. Laurel was associated with the god Apollo, and seen as a cleansing and protecting plant, it was the Romans who later adopted it as a symbol of triumph.

The triangle in the centre with the smaller triangles within reminds me of an inverted Sierpiński triangle, a fractal with ever smaller triangle iterations within.

The rule of this fractal is the repeated forming of triangles by taking the middle of each side and connecting them. However in the logo the triangles are not fully formed, and instead more shaped like arrows or diamonds.

In the centre of the triangle there seems to be a circle with shapes around it: triangles with crosses underneath.

They look like the alchemical symbol for sulphur/brimstone. In alchemy sulphur is seen as an active male element, something that brings about change. It is seen as having hot and dry properties, like the element fire, and is also associated with the sun.

On the left there appears to be a claw and fur, likely depicting a lion. This parallels the royal coat of arms of the UK.

On the right there is a split hoof and fur, likely of a classic depiction of a unicorn. This parallels the royal coat of arms of the UK.

The letters on top only have the A fully visible. However after inspecting it, it seems to be written in a typeface similar to Castellar Std Roman. Based on the shape of the letters of such a typeface, and the letter snippets we can see, we can guess that the half visible letter on the left is either an O or a Q, and the one on the right is either a R or a B (note how the middle arm curves slightly down, suggesting a bowl of a B or a tail of an R). Further between the half visible letter on the left, and the letter A there is enough space for another letter. So you have O/Q • _ • A • R/B.

On the top left corner of the centre there is a curved line that does not match the two exterior circles, so there's another round shape in there.

In the central circle we can make out the bottoms of two more shapes. While I can't immediately think of what the left one might be.

The right one gives us more to work with.

It could be another alchemical symbol, potentially of mercury (the counterpart and opposite of sulphur according to alchemical ideas), sulphur, or the symbol for Venus. Or less likely but potentially a compound symbol. Another possibility is a cross crosslet, or a Cross of Lorraine. Though given the amount of space from the centre of the circle, I'm not so sure about the cross crosslet. It’s worth nothing that it has pointed diamond ends, like the passion cross (meant to refer to Christ’s suffering on the cross as the points represent nails), which in heraldry is called Cross Aiguisé (French for “sharpened”) or Pointed Cross, or Cross Urdée (from ‘urde’, heraldic term for “having points”). Not sure what it could mean for The Magnus Protocol though.

There’s also 10 circles on each side of the triangle, resulting in 30 in total. Though not sure how this is relevant.

If anyone has any idea about what this might reference, I am definitely open to reading it, because I have spent hours searching and haven’t come up with anything that matches halfway decently. There’s also those weird little 3 dark lines on the right side intersecting with the other line. Not entirely sure what that is but it feels a little out of place as the centre of this image is pretty clear and sharp compared to the outer edges.

And lastly these little things appear 5 times on a side of the triangle, so if the pattern repeats itself, it should come to a total of 15. I don’t have much to say here. They remind me a little of carved pateras you can find on antique furniture or architecture. It looks a little like a pointed quatrefoil (4 leaf structure/shape). Could be a clue, could just be decorative.

What does this all mean put together? No idea honestly. But I wanted to share the things I have noticed so far.

oh no problem i don't think it was like a terrible post on the relative scale of internet takes, but op pissed me off lol like a native canto speaker spoonfeeds you info and you just refuse to engage with it. it's not even being curious it's just dense as hell. they eventually came around but man the reading comprehension-

anyways the canto accent—idk how to describe it tbh. some of the syllables sound more canto? like the way they're broken up and which words get more emphasis etc. tons of ppl (on bilibili) said it sounds like very realistic/authentic "guangpu" which is shorthand for cantonese accented standard chinese. the best example of this imo is when he says 本领嘛 (běnlǐng ma) in the suanni papercut teaser; the stress/emphasis on each syllable like separates them a lot more than in mando? ben and ling especially sound sharper when he said it, like if you use more force w your tongue/lips to pronounce the b and l sounds. i am not a linguist so this could be completely off (but there's more unrelated talk about canto vs mando under the cut)

the more explainable thing he does is use phrases that aren't used in standardized mandarin. 我埋单(wo3 máidān) ("my treat" in eng dub) is a canto phrase—i think(?) mandarin speakers would say 我结账 (wo jiézhàng). 埋 means bury in mandarin, but in cantonese it can mean to close/settle (accounts), or come together (as in closing a wound). closing the check in this case ig. importantly 埋单(canto) and 买单(mǎidān, mandarin) do not mean the same thing (unlike i originally thought haha), even though the tones are v similar

he also says 勤力点 (qínlì diǎn) during the suanni trailer which i assume would be 尽力点 (?) (jìnlì diǎn) in mando, they both mean the same thing (to work hard) it's just diff words. qin is the first word of qinkuai 勤快, hardworking

his 喔 (wo, filler word) and 哪(na, also filler word, except he says it like 那哈 na ha to me lol) also just sounds so canto jfsdkfj. they both exist in mando and are used but idk the pronunciation sounds a bit diff?

This likely won't help much, since ga-ming spoke accented mandarin, not entirely cantonese, but if you're curious and want to hear the differences between standard mandarin and canto, you can go to https://fanyi.baidu.com/#zh/yue/ and paste some chinese text into this, and click on the speaker/audio button at the bottom of the text boxes to hear it spoken. the left is mandarin, the right is cantonese. if you'd like you can also paste the text into google translate, which will give you the mandarin pinyin. i extracted some of gaming's most noticeable lines here if u wanna try. Honestly, it might be more helpful to listen to his lines in mandarin and then listen to gaming's version to see if you can hear any differences, because his audio from the livestream is a lot closer to mandarin than cantonese

"Last pre-war version before the ships go through their Life Extension Refit Program 1939-40. The 5" casemates have been removed and half-a-dozen resited to the upper deck. hari khamis masuk kerja macam biasa dengan innova yang ikat2 tu hahah, hari jumaat baru ambil cuti. tujuan ambil cuti sebab nak uruskan innova ni la. nak cari kedai yang boleh beli dia.

tapi sebab alang2 dah cuti, anjang ajak test drive sekali. sebab kita pun deal dengan SA dari PD so memang book ikut kata hati jela. sedap tak sedap belakang kira, yang penting dapat kereta cepat hahaha.

so pergi showroom shah alam test saga dan persona, dan terus book persona dengan SA baru kat shah alam ni. cuma SA sini kata q sebulan. kita pun macam hmm takpelah proceed jela. pastu pergi perodua, masuk booking myvi av pulak HAHAHAHA. tapi q 4 bulan sobsss 🥲

jumaat malam sabtu, SA PD tu bagitahu loan persona pun lulus. masih rate yg sama 3.3 so kita rasa ok la compare to others yang 3.5-4.2 saya dapat. so proceed dengan PD tanpa beritahu kita ada booking juga dengan shah alam ni.

sabtu tu kita pm balik SA shah alam perodua dan proton bagitahu cancel booking. perodua tak banyak tanya, dia ok kan saja maybe sebab belum process booking saya. proton ada tanya kenapa nak cancel, tapi saya tak reply.

malam sabtu cimb bank dari SA proton shah alam call untuk verity loan application, tapi kita bagitahu tak jadi proceed. so dia pun ok dan tak proceed. bila bagitahu anjang, anjang kata layan jela bank tu sebab boleh tahu interest berapa. ni belum apa2 dah reject. katanya cimb biasa rate lebih murah. so kita pun macam errr ye eh?

kita kalau boleh taknaklah orang buat kerja yang kita tahu kita akan reject. hanya kerana itu kerja dia, kita guna dia habis habisan. sebab kita pun takmau kalau kena macam tu.

hari selasa, SA shah alam bagitahu loan RHB lulus, tapi tinggi benau interestnya. 3.7% dengan monthly rm550, floating rate. rupanya sebab jumaat tu saya letak dp 5k je. entah kenapalah saya ni berubah2 haha. saya minta dia amend loan utk fixed rate dan dp 18k, tapi lepas dia check rhb takda fixed rate. agak turn off di situ. so saya pun jujur jela yang saya dah buat dengan SA lain yang lebih rendah interest dan waiting tak lama. dan dia pun ok je.

saya ada juga nak menguji SA PD tu bagitahu nak cancel sebab jauh. apa2 urusan susah nak deal. yela memang pape thru online je sekarang, tapi kalau dah dapat kereta dan ada problem nanti mestilah nak adu kat SA balik kan walaupun tahu akhirnya ke sc juga haha. tapi faham tak attachment dengan SA tu benar?? 😂 saya fikir kalau dekat dengan saya lebih mudah, bawa dekat SA dan bagi tengok sendiri kereta masalah apa. nanti dia boleh tolong deal dengan SC.

tapi SA PD ni betul2 taknak lepas kita. siap call berkali2, bagi feedback dari customer dia yg dari shah alam juga. yela SA kan mestilah taknak lepas potential buyer. saya cam biasa la, kesian haha. plus dengan dia saya dapat rate rendah so proceed jela juga.

khamis bayar dp, jumaat sign loan. yang kejadian breakdown sebab overheat tu jumaat ni la. tapi masih berjaya juga settlekan semua urusan bank sebelum lunch break habis 2 pm. saya dah berangan dah sabtu dapat kereta haha.

tapi pukul 3 SA PD call katanya tak boleh dapat sabtu. sebab rupanya SA shah alam sebelum ni tak cancelkan booking nama saya dalam system. saya pelik juga sebab saya approach sa pd dulu baru shah alam. rupanya sebab 1st saya approach tu untuk saga bukan persona, dan 1st saya approach utk persona adalah dengan SA shah alam.

entah macamana process dia, mungkin juga sebab silap saya banyak sangat orang saya approach. kecewa juga tapi apa boleh buat. sabau jela.

semalam hari sabtu saya pm SA PD nak follow up booking tu, nama saya dah masuk ke. lambat dia reply, 6 jam dah 2 tick dah. dalam hati saya memang geram sebab yelah awal2 dulu kemain kejar saya persistently, siap call utih tanya kenapa saya tak reply mesej (ni masa awal2 saya confuse nak beli kereta ke tak sebab innova masih okay dan belum accident) tapi sekarang bila saya dah bayar itu ini dah sign agreement semua lambat pula reply.

tapi saya sekadar geram dalam hati la, takdalah sembur kat dia pun. masih tetap menunggu reply patiently haha. pukul 6 petang dia reply rupanya dia warded. dalam hati saya macam alhamdulillah saya tak marah dia lebih lebih tadi haha.

so begitulah ceritanya. saya pun tak tahu akan dapat kereta bila. nak cepat sangat kan, Allah uji pula macamni haha. saya percaya ada yang lebih baik di hadapan nanti.

cumanya bila dah lambat lambat ni, saya terfikir. kenapa saya tak ambil premium eh HAHAHAHAHA. saya mahu push start buttonnn 🤣

Sex ed starts far too late in a child's life, in my opinion. School systems rely too heavily on the concept that a kid's parent will pick up the slack in education on far too many areas.

Idealy I'd love to live in a world in which sex ed occurs in Grade 1 all the way through to Grade 12; each year reminding, increasing and building upon last year's content.

At the very least, children of all ages should know about consent, boundaries, hygiene, the basic anatomy and names for genetalia, the basics of lgbt+ stuff, and childrens rights and where to go if those rights are being denied.

By grade 10, I'd love for kids to be properly educated on queer identities and history, nonmonogamy, porn, sex work, masturbation, sex toys, kink, sex (inclusive of various genetalia combinations and disability inclusive,) STDs, pregnancy, abortion, protection and sexual assault. In no particular order. Grade 11 and 12 would be for revision, discussion, and Q&As. (Where I live, grade 10 is when kids can drop out which is why that's the cap)

I also think everyone should be taught about symptoms or situations that you might not talk about because you assume it's normal, or you're embarrassed, or you just didn't notice it, and what to do if you do notice it. (UTIs, STDs, intersex things, PCOS, endo, etc.)

And no, I don't mean we should be teaching kids everything about everything.

For example, teaching about kink can just be "This is the definition of kink. There are lots of diferent kinds of kink. Communication, consent and boundaries are very very important, here are some warning signs of what might be an unsafe kink environment or partner. Also, here are some relatively common kink things that can potentially be harmful (e.g. strangling) this is what you need to know to make an informed decision and to make it as safe as possible, if the time ever comes."

Teaching about sex toys can just be "These are the diferent kinds of sex toys and what they do, make sure to clean them regularly."

I think if this gets seen by more than like, 3 people, I could get a lot of heat for this but as someone who was raised in a bunch of scenarios in which this kind of education would have been almost lifesaving to me, I don't see why everyone seems to want to teach kids as little as possible. We all know that teens and young adults are learning and doing this stuff, but we all seem to want them to learn from tik tok or something. Anyway, I'm happy to elaborate on anything and I'm very interested in discussions.

-Ceftriaxone 1g IV q 24hr, plus doxycycline 100mg IV or orally q 12hr, plus metronidazole 500mg IV or orally q12hr while inpatient

-On discharge, the patient should be maintained on doxycycline 100 mg PO q 12hr plus metronidazole 500mg PO q 12hr for a total treatment regimen of 14 days.

-Pt's partner should be informed and tested and offered treatment for gonorrhea

-Pt should be re-tested for gonorrhea at 3 months post treatment

-Pt should be offered STD testing for HIV/hepatitis/syphillis. Chlamydia and trichomonas were negative during admission.

-Pt can continue on oral contraceptive pills during her treatment regimen.

-Pt should abstain from sexual intercourse until she and her partner have both been fully treated and symptoms have resolved.
