I'm going to chuck my sewing machine out my window

#not really but GODDDDD I'M SO FRUSTRATED RIGHT NOW #it'd be fine if my needle broke because that just happens sometimes #especially after a lot of wear and i had done a lot of embroidery with it #but NOOOOOOO #it BENT #UNDER the FOOTPLATE #so i cannot LIFT IT #to get my FABRIC OUT #or to make the needle EASIER to REMOVE #I'm sure with enough finagling I'll be able to switch my needle out but i think I'm just gonna leave it for tonight #honestly this is probably the last sign i needed to just go to bed. i should have hours ago #I've been stitching things wrong (will also have to seam rip it tomorrow) and i had to put on bandaids cuz I'm getting clumsy with my pins #i should've been to bed ages ago I'm just going to leave this here. maybe I'll get a snack or something #though if i stay up for another hour i could get my dad to help fix it so i won't have to stress about it as much #i don't know what I'm gonna do yet #i just kinda feel like crying #i gotta get these fucking plushies done man #i got two already paid for that i need to finish up and I've got 6 i need to take down to my local shoppes soon #not to mention that I'm a bit late on some commission work because the plushies are more time-sensitive #and i know my friend's understanding and is way more patient than they probably should be but i still feel bad about it #cuz I'm really excited to work on those!! they're some cool stuff i get to draw and I'm excited to get started!!! #i have had nothing but problems all day and now I'm getting sleep deprived because I'm pushing so hard to get them done #first my embroidery thread kept fraying and stitching inconsistently #which i have to cover up with other methods since i don't have the stabilizer to re-stitch it #and then my patterns didn't line up properly so i had to edit those by hand #and i accidentally stitched the tail on an alpaca too low so i have to seam rip and restitch the entire body because of it #and then i had to rush to not bleed all over my fabric when i got too clumsy with my pins #and i have an entire cloak that got fucked up and i have to seam rip‚ surge‚ and restitch basically the entire thing #and now my needles fucking bent under the machine and it's really hard to get out and I'm just really frustrated right now #i haven't had most problems like this the entire 5 years I've been sewing why is it all happening to me all at once i just feel like crying

eddie has his chin resting on your shoulder, his body wrapped around your back with you sat between his legs, lounging on his bed together. you lean your temple into him, both of you just quiet and comfortable and enjoying the proximity as you pull a threaded needle in and out of his dio vest.

“i know you know how to sew, dude,” you say softly, amused, nudging against him, to which he snorts and turns his head — you’re already squealing when he blows a raspberry into your neck, makes you jolt and then elbow him playfully.

“yeah, well, i like watchin’ you do it,” he whines, replacing his chin on your shoulder and winding arms around your middle to hold you close.

“you just like when i play housewife for you,” you sigh with false dejection, shaking your head wistfully, and eddie snorts harder and squeezes you and shoves his face into you, muffling his ‘nooooooo that’s not truuuue~!’ you grin and reach up to scritch affection through his hair and laugh with him, turning your head to smooch his cheek.

“you’re just so cute when you’re all focused n’ stuff,” he breathes against you as he settles.

you smile wide as you relax and lean into each other again, eddie watching your hand bring the needle and thread through the denim of his vest to reinforce the stitching of his iron maiden patch — stitch stitch stitch stitch.

he could definitely do it himself — had done many times. but how could he deny himself this view? your lashes low and hiding intent, focused eyes, hair falling around your face as your tongue pokes through thinned lips, deep in concentration. cheeks a little pink from your combined warmth but you nestled into him happily anyway. you took such care with something that was so important to him and sometimes he just needed to see this, needed to watch this physical manifestation of your love for him. not that he’d ever doubted you, but that sometimes eddie doubted himself — that you were real. needed to just sit with you like this and remind himself you wouldn’t spend all this time with him in silence while he watched you mend his vest if you didn’t enjoy it.

you feel his hold on you grow a bit tighter in the ensuing silence as he thinks about you, and you lean closer into him. you tie off the thread and snip it, nudging your nose into his cheek as you hold up the vest, iron maiden firmly sewn back on.

eddie shoves his lips onto your cheek with a loud ‘mmmmmMMMMWAHH,’ and then you practically screech as he holds onto you tight and throws himself back with you in his clutches, rolling with you as you laugh and squeal and he alternates thanking you in between the onslaught of wet smooches.

1. are you named after anyone? yes! my great-grandma lydia. we share a birthday AND she died on her birthday exactly one year before i was born. a very fun and slightly spooky anecdote

2. when was the last time you cried? last night, i got a very angsty fic idea and as usual i somehow manage to put myself into the character’s shoes so easily and i was crying a character’s tears. last time i cried my own tears was the night before i think, or something like that. idk, i cry a lot lmao.

3. do you have kids? no but my build-a-bear stitch IS my son

4. what sports do you play / have you played? i played basketball from ages 6-17 and it was basically my entire personality. haven’t done any sports since then and probably won’t, though i’m trying to find some kind of exercise that could actually be fun :/ i loved rock climbing in college but there’s no wall near where i live. but anyway i’ll figure it out

5. do you use sarcasm? noOooOoo i would Neverrrrrrrr

6. what’s the first thing you notice about people? i genuinely have no idea, i don’t really look at people. maybe their voice/the way they speak? or their shoes cuz that’s where i be looking lmao

7. what’s your eye color? i don’t knoowww. blue green grey. depends on what i’m wearing, sometimes the blue really pops. but sometimes it doesn’t look like my eyes are blue at all so. i think they’re mostly grey.

8. scary movies or happy endings? once again this question makes no sense because a lot of scary movies (most?? nearly all????) HAVE happy endings. but anyway to quote the fairy fauna from sleeping beauty, i just LOVE happy endings :”)

9. any talents? well i like to think i’m an alright writer! i actually Know i’m a good writer at least when it comes to school essays because that was always where i got the most praise. but i think my fics are pretty good too!! writing’s just always come naturally to me. other than that idk, i’m pretty good at memorizing stuff when i want to.

10. where were you born? pacific northwest babey!!!! (northwestern united states)

11. what are your hobbies? writing and day dreaming are like, my two staples. i’m striving to make 2024 the year i start being more crafty though. i have a couple projects brewing and i have a batb 2017 coloring book that i just bought some markers for to start coloring more. in the future i’d like to try crochet and embroidery but i don’t wanna overwhelm myself. one step at a time

12. do you have any pets? no :( i’m just an auntie to a lot of pets. the one i see most often is my brother’s shiba inu, mishka. he’s my little baby nephew and i wanna eat his face off. but anyway i’d like a cat or two some day! probably whenever i move out of my parents’ house. (which i’m not in a big rush to do, i like it here :3)

13. how tall are you? somewhere between 5’5 and 5’6. but with shoes definitely 5’6

14. favorite subject in school? elementary to high school it was probably english/creative writing, since i’ve always had a knack for it. in college it was my two majors, comparative ethnic studies and history. my favorite CES classes were “race and racism in pop culture” and “blackness in film.” my favorite history classes were “history of the late middle ages” (shout out to my girl joan of arc!) and “history of ancient greece” which was my absolute favorite course in all four years of university. it was actually one i happened to take in the quarantine year (my junior year of college) but it still slapped even despite being over zoom. that professor was awesome and i was so obsessed with the material, i kept most of the books and even asked him for more recommendations. (haven’t read them all yet, but i like seeing them on my bookshelf lol)

15. dream job? whatever ends up supporting my desires in life, and brings me at least some semblance of joy. the job i have right now is actually really awesome. it has a couple downsides but overall i’m extremely happy with my job and it feels great :)

me: if the transplantation didn't go well it would be swollen within days but in canon timeline somehow (more his luck than Mikan's skill, she's a nurse, not a surgeon) it did and he still has that arm when he wakes up from the NWP in 2.5? but yeah, it should have rotted away and give him a gangrene

you: first off I have a theory that the Junko hand isn't actually like attached. His hand was amputated and he still removed hers, but both are sealed up and either stitches together with no internal organs meshing, or he's using the bandages to keep them together. I dunno that's at least my explanation for how he hasn't died from like 17 different infections. For Fuyuhiko I'm willing to believe it's infected, and for Mikan she might be taking medication or smth to prevent sepsis. 100% believe Fuyuhiko got the Junk-eye removed asap post game, Mikan might still need medication for the you know what

The university library maybe was quiet for any other person but Senritsu, yet for her who had brought a pack of sandwhichs along for the short stop by the university on her way to the next train, it was loud: She heard a hundred peoples breath and surpressed voices, she heard bookpages turning as loud as thunder, she heard feet shuffling like sreams stitching into her ears, and she heard Leorios quiet whisper so clear as if it was yelled in her face. Senritsu blinked- one time, two times, three times. Like a confused bird she tiled her head to the side, thinking. The afternoonligh falling inside the library through one of the tall windows was cold and grey like a veil. "Mhmmmm, alright, I will do my very best." The woman sat up straight, cleared her throat dramatically and said in the most fake and most neutral voice possible: "- noooooooo, Leorio, stop worrying about your friends. Stop beeing the admireable kind person that you are and only focus on your own goals. Its what beeing a Hunter is about after all. Noooo, stop beeing a source of honest inspiration for me to better myself. Noooooo, stop beeing so enjoyable to be around. Nooooooo, I will not support and help you getting your peace of mind by looking after your friend. Noooooooo, I will never again support you in your honest worry, because a Hunter should only be selfish. Nooo, stooooooooop, Noooooo." Between her dramatically tuneless voice had started to mix little giggles that she tried to drown by eventually clapping a small hand before her mouth and turning away, before she bursted out in a honest laughter that almos brought laughing-tears to her eyes. It needed a few seconds before Senritsu turned back to the younger, still with a laughter as sweet as a song behind her voice: "I am sorry, I am sorry, I will be quiet-" She peacefully waved a small hand towards the angry hiss that came from behind one of the tall shelfs from one of the students, who had heard her laugh : "Was that good enough? Or should I stand up indignantly and never answer your calls again to fill the role properly, mhmmmmmm?" [ @muddsludge ]
