Its an honest to god tragedy that cg of Saeray is tied to one of his most heartbreaking bad ends bc real talk? Easily my favorite look on him. The light pink waistcoat and pants, the black rose, buttons, and glove details, the swept bangs? God tier.
Actually if you let him undo the collar on that shirt and move the rose corsage (The shirt collar is tight with the rose right at his neck, because he's trapped all over again. Clever, Cheritz. Heartwrenching, but clever) I can imagine it being a formal outfit he wears to future RFA fundraisers?
Or maybe im just desperate to have this outfit in a positive light bc im weak for light colored suits lmao

This is one the worst endings you can give Saeran Choi. Why? Because unlike in Ray Route when you team up with Rika to create a Puppet Savior, you're well aware of what Saeran wants and needs after a long two months and some change of knowing him and loving him as a free man. Yet, you throw his life and needs out the window the second Rika offers a reality where you're not separated from Saeran and he gets to live with you. You don't care about what he wants in this timeline. You care about what you want and the easiest way to get it.
You go and subjugate him to a living hell as a love puppet since you know he'll do whatever you think is right even if it's wrong for him. The worst part in all that? Saeran will burn and suffer for you if this is what makes you happy. He's dead inside. That's the reason why there is a black rose on his collar. It is a significant mark of death. He is dead inside and will only live to please you. He's not happy and he won't ever be happy in this timeline.
He is, for all intents and purposes, dead and numb to what's happening to him... for the sake of giving you what you want.
You trade what he wants away for a fantasy life Rika sold you and the worst part about that is you knew him so deeply and truly and that didn't even matter anymore. That's what makes this worse to me. You didn't know him that well when it came to the path you can take to make him the False Savior. You had no idea of what life he wanted apart from the mess you heard from Ray and Suit Saeran's lips. But, this path right here?
You knew him and you damned him to this horrible fate despite everything he dreamed of. You helped remove the chains from his throat in Magenta only to put them back on in V's mountainside villa.

I've been thinking about this for a while and since I'm playing through Saeran's route again: do you think even after a long time has passed since the good ending, he still feels guilty about making you starve? That event was the one that stuck with me even as i played again and again and while i think yes, he would obviously feel bad, i also want to hear your opinion
Yes. This is actually something I talk about a lot when it comes to the After Ending and Saeran. When it comes to GE Saeran, a part of the reason why he's trying to prove to himself that he can forgive those that hurt him, is because he thought that if he can forgive the act that made him hurt and afraid enough to become the monster that he became in Mint Eye... well, maybe he might be able to forgive the person he is now. Because even though you forgave Suit Saeran for his actions—
GE Saeran is still holding onto that same. It's a part of him. The intent that night that Suit Saeran had was to leave and not return. His goal was to give you to Ray to be protected and to protect, and he'd sit in the darkness of their mind, trying to avoid coming out as much as he could until he could learn how to come to terms with himself. There was so much hurt and hatred in his heart that he knew that he had to stay away to heal.
If it hadn't been for the sudden and abrupt fusion that created GE Saeran, Suit Saeran likely would've avoided coming back if he had the power to avoid it. He didn't forgive himself. GE Saeran hasn't forgiven himself, either... even if he doesn't say it aloud. By the end of the After Ending, Saeran has been able to confront his monsters and himself. I believe he's able to forgive himself properly because he's able to learn why his abusers lived how they lived and did what they did.
He was able to make sense of their choices and the choices that he made. He was able to say "I can forgive myself now. I did something horrible and wrong, but I am no longer that man. I am trying to be a better man and MC has faith in me. I will be a better man. I choose to be a better man. I choose kindness. I no longer choose anger and fear to hide myself."
Saeran will talk to you about his shame, grief, and guilt. He will talk to you about how it made you feel and what he can do to help you feel safe and comfortable. He wants to be healthy. He wants to do the right thing... and most of all, he wants to know that he can be the man that you love and deserve. If you want him, then he wants to be someone you can depend on. He wants to be brave and strong. He wants to be kind, not scared.
He will need to confront these feelings a lot to make peace with it.

I was one of the people who thought the Prime Minister's redemption at the end of Saeran's AE was forced and unnecessary (one of the reasons many people didn't like the Good Ending) But then I got to really thinking about the context, it could not have been the MC's dialogues and Saeran's embrace that brought him back to surrender... the man had nothing left, no agency, no people to support him, he was already broke and tired of running. He didn't redeem himself, he just gave up. Isn't that so.
It most certainly wasn't a Redemption Arc for the man. A lot of people seem to misunderstand the purpose and theme of the after ending because forgiveness is such a broad topic that most people tend to think that it is a all-or-nothing situation. The way that the story unfolded was for Saeran to be able to come to terms with the things that he did and suffered through. He had the idea in his head that if he could forgive everyone that hurt him enough to push him to the brink of doing what he did to the player, then he might be able to forgive himself for what he did. Because, make no mistake, even though we've forgiven him for what he's done, he hasn't forgiven himself. He's still holding on to the pain and agony that he put you through.
This path of forgiveness that he took was not to allow those people back into his life or say that he was okay with what they did to him. He did not forgive them to say that he wanted them in his life. He did not forgive them because he wanted to say that they deserve another chance with him. He did not forgive them because he wants them in his life going forward. He forgave them because he wanted to be able to forgive himself. He wanted to let go of all the anger that he'd been holding on to his entire life, and he wanted to finally be able to move forward. For him, that choice was forgiveness.
In this ending, you're not shamed for choosing to forgive or not to forgive. You're allowed to choose what feels right to you and so is everyone else. You're entitled to hold on to whatever feelings that you felt. What's most important is that you not shame others for how they come to terms with forgiveness or the lack thereof.
In the case of Saejoong, Saeran forgave him so he could forgive himself. He's a very empathetic person and he has a good heart. Even for people that put him through a living hell. He decided to be the bigger person, the kinder person, but do not think for a second that he's going to allow that man to stay in his life. The final conversation that he has with him in the hospital is the end. It won't happen again. They said everything that needed to be said. Saejoong’s goodbye was a forever goodbye. Life going forward will be without him anywhere near his thoughts. Saeran will finally be free.
Saejoong was quite frankly backed into a corner. There was really no way out of this for him, and as the situation slowly moved forward, he knew that there was no way out. All of the pieces began to slide together minute by minute, and he was desperate. With no agency at his side to get everything done in the good ending, he had pretty much nothing. The longer that he doesn't have backup or people by his side to help him get the dirty work done oh, the quicker he realizes that there's no chance for him to dig his way out of this hole. He’s on his own in this. He has no power by himself, not like he thinks he does. There’s nowhere left to run and the RFA has the upperhand.
It wasn’t simply Saeran and MC’s confrontation that made Saejoong give into his defeat. Sure, Saeran’s words cut like a blade because here is a boy that he has tried to kill for twenty something years telling him that he forgives him for what he has done and what he’s doing. That’s going to give anybody whiplash and it just hits him like a tank. He runs off after this and spends hours mulling over all the details by himself. He realizes that his image is gone. People know about him at length and there’s no undoing what he’s done. He cannot crawl his way back into power anymore. His image is gone. His power is gone. The people hate him and this is the cost of his hubris.
He gives up because he has nowhere left to go.
Him sparing time to talk to Saeran again in the hospital is to make sense of his anguish because Saejoong has nothing. He probably feels pathetic for coming to a son he tried to murder to talk about what he should do next, but hey, the man has nothing at the end and Saeran was the only one that was slightly willing to listen to him. Saejoong simply gave up because there was no other choice but the other actions aligned with it come out of his confusion and uncertainty of what lay ahead for him.
Similar to how V gave up on himself and allowed himself to give into Rika’s whims.

Hi, sorry but I wanted to vent a bit about something that bothers me regarding Saeran’s AE message (although it’s not really the message but how a lot of people here interpreted it). I’m a Spanish speaking player (My English is not very good, sorry if it’s not understood in several parts hehe) after finishing Saeran’s After Ending and thinking about his story I understood that forgiving someone doesn’t mean that you want to have a friendly relationship again or something like that with that person who hurt you and that it’s not really mandatory to forgive, if you don’t want to forgive just don’t do it and go on with your life, nobody can judge you for it. That’s fine, you make your decisions and no one should force you to change that decision (Coff V’s After Ending Judge or forgiving Coff coff) The thing is, several players here treated Saeran like a jerk because he forgave all the people who hurt him and applauded Saeyoung for doing the opposite. They said “learn from your brother, Saeran, lol”. That outraged me, why don’t they respect Saeran’s decision like his brother did? Saeyoung never judged him or was upset that he forgave his father, he respects his decision just like Saeran will too, they just want to live happily together in peace. At that time I just wanted to tell them to learn respect like Saeyoung rather.
The game never forced us to forgive Rika, V or the prime minister. It was never about “forgive all those who hurt you because then you will find peace and be happy.” …. As I have seen in your blog you talk about this topic, you are right that some people are helped by forgiveness while others are not.
Ahh, I’ve also seen others comment that the fact that Saeran forgives everyone “dehumanises” him, “that no one in the world is as good as him to forgive at that level” Ehh… you can’t say that there is absolutely no person in the world who chooses to forgive their abusers. As I said before and you said it too, it’s not like Saeran was “SO GOOD”, it wasn’t like “I forgive them all and I think everyone should give them a chance so we can be friends and live happily ever after, we should all forgive because it’s the best thing to do YEYYYYYYYYYYY”. Throughout the AE I saw Saeran wanting to keep his distance from them, he also told us about his dreams of wanting to live with the people he loves (MC and Saeyoung) he didn’t seem interested in those other people who hurt him, he just wanted to know why they did what they did. Now he just wants to live life as the person he wants to be: a kind and caring person. Although I don’t interpret those words as him forgiving everyone who crosses his path, rather he just wanted to get rid of that hatred he had for a long time but that doesn’t mean that then the feelings of anger go away for everything, those feelings are inherent but now he knows that there are several ways to handle things. He wants to be a better person and now he has the freedom he longed for, he will continue to grow.
Oh, I have to say that I also agree that rather than forgiving his abusers he was forgiving himself for the damage he did to MC and himself so that he could move on.
I’m sorry if that was too long. I was glad to find people like you who understand that forgiveness is a broader thing and that Saeran taking that path doesn’t ruin his character or make him a fool for it. And most importantly: you decide whether you forgive or not, no one is forcing you to go down the path you don’t want to go down.
And I love your blog ^^
PS: something I’ve also seen a lot of people saying is that Saeran seemed to depend a lot on the MC for everything, which I don’t understand because I see him making his own decisions in the whole AE until the end (I think one of the scenes in the game where that “dependence” is noticeable is when he asks us to go with him to rescue Saeyoung because he feels safer…). Well I didn’t want to let him go alone to a dangerous place with 4 enemies where we can be killed while the RFA is asleep, that doesn’t happen every day xD) but that’s another topic.
— Submission
Absolutely. I’ve explained the moral of the After Ending many times to people who aren’t quite sure of what it means to choose to forgive and what it means to not forgive. When you forgive somebody, it isn’t an open invitation to have them back in your life. Saeran’s motive in all of this is that he wants to know why the people who hurt him did what they did because he wants those conclusions to move forward in his life. He knows why he did what he did and he’s been trying to make peace with it for a while, but I’m gonna be honest here, even if he’s not saying it—
GE Saeran is holding onto the shame and guilt that Ray and Suit Saeran felt over what they did to you, the player. He hasn’t forgiven himself. By challenging his abusers and those who failed him, he’s trying to make peace with himself and understand himself. He wants to forgive himself, and he thinks, to forgive himself, he needs to say that he forgives those that hurt him. He chooses to let go of his anger to finally be free. Saeran has been angry for so long… he’s tired of being angry.
He wants to let go of anger and be happy forevermore. He’s not saying he forgives the people that hurt him because he wants to be around them. He doesn’t intend to interact with them again. He’s made peace with what he needed and he’s said what he needed to say. Even as Saejoong leaves at the end of the After Ending, you know that he’s saying goodbye forever. Saeran made that pretty clear with him. He hopes that Rika, V, and Saejoong can make peace with themselves and be happy in their own way, but he’s not going to be around to see it happen.
However, Saeran can now forgive himself and move forward, living with you happily and his brother, making sense of his freedom and the happiness he yearns for in his life. The game doesn’t force you to forgive any of them. You can choose to do it and it won’t affect how you play in the end. You have a chance to help Saeran get what he wants emotionally but you aren’t forced to accept apologies or give forgiveness.
A lot of people who have been abused will never forgive those that hurt them… and others will choose forgiveness in their own way. It is up to the victim to decide how they handle this path. Only you get to decide what you want to happen. Nobody should shame you for your choice, no matter what it is. Frankly, nobody should nag Saeyoung for keeping his anger and hatred. He has a right to never forgive that man. I’m much more like Saeyoung, myself. You have a right to never forgive someone. You have a right to hold onto your anger, as long as you aren’t hurting yourself or others.
Saeran isn’t a saint for choosing forgiveness and Saeyoung isn’t a monster for choosing to never forgive. These are things that people will choose to do and they have a right to it.
And don’t even get me started on the whole “Saeran and MC are a toxic co-dependent couple.” There is a reason why V and Rika are the foil to MC and Saeran. V and Rika are the toxic models of what it means to behave a dependency on another person. They are meant to show you what it means if you give up everything for another person, even if destroys you in the process. V gave up on himself for Rika’s safety and Rika feed into V’s devotion to love even though they both understand their love was never something good. It’s a mess and it really exhausts me to have to explain this over and over again.
V and Rika were never good for each other, point-blank. They are the ones that foil Saeran and MC. Saeran isn’t forced by us to do anything and vice-versa (unless it’s a Bad Ending where you make him do it but we’re talking about the Good Ending.) He asks your view and thoughts but he makes his own choices, and he always respects your choice. There’s a huge fucking difference.

Saeran’s Passport Package
I’ve been waiting since the 19th to get my hands on this baby and I’m glad that it got here today. It took me a little bit to sit down and go through everything cause I wanted to cry about it the entire time.
Spoilers Ahead, everyone. So, if you’re not interested in seeing what’s in the Passport set AFTER the events of Saeran’s After Ending, then do not click Read More, got it? I’ve made it clear to you. I will say that it’s worth the money if you’re debating buying it.
Tumblr media
So, we can go over the contents in the box, first as an overview. You receive a letter stamped with a cute sticker as well as the passport itself which holds the notes that Saeran’s been taking and drawing since this all started. I just think that’s cute. My brain said don’t open that passport until we review the letter first so, why don’t we go over the letter first? The little details are really cute. There’s just so many stamps on this baby.
The little touches are what sell it. You’ve got this man putting his love all over it and there’s a CUTE NOTE of CATS. Sir, was that a touch to Saeyoung? I know you know that your brother is a dork. Homage to brother who is an idiot but too glaringly obvious. It got a chuckle out of me. I know this man, and it’s just getting to me.
The passport itself is also really cute. It has the art from the promo banner but instead of everyone hustling around together, there’s new poses and all of that jazz. Jaehee isn’t rushing around. Zen’s got a selfie stick, no surprise on that front. Jumin just chilling. Seven and Yoosung... doing what they do best and you know it. RUN, YOOSUNG, RUN.
Saeran and MC... being cute on the inside made me go, “Aw!” Ice cream. They can really just put ice cream and it’s going to make me cry, huh? Really? Is that how easy this is? Am I a joke to you, Cheritz? Is that what this is?
Tumblr media
Now, if you want to talk about the contents in the letter, you get this sheet that is listed in three languages, surprised me, Korean, Spanish, and English, and it lets you tick off little things that you like to do. An itinerary sheet. I feel like this is purely Jumin crafting these. It asks about Cats. Literally. Cats. Wine? Yeah, this is on Jumin. You always come in flex, Jumin, but oh boy, I’m chuckling over here at these little touches.
You get 2 boarding passes. One with Saeran’s name and one with a blank to fill in your name. I thought that was cute. Tying in that with the CG of the passes in the game with this just makes it more real to me. I’m holding this in my hands and it just makes my immersion feel much more real than it did when I was holding my phone in my hand and playing this out.
I think merch like this just makes you feel more apart of the story then you do when you’re able to talk and chat, you know? If you really like feeling like you are involved with the game, this is how you do it. You wanna know how I know that Jumin is the one setting this up with Saeran? Flip over the fucking passport and you realize that Elizabeth is on the back.
I’m still laughing.
I’m trying to imagine this and now, like, I’m starting to see why Jaehee is so damn tired because Elizabeth really is on everything that he can get his hands on and she’s good too many files to sort through when it comes to whatever the photographers take of her. Jumin can’t take photos. He’s either got Jihyun to do this for him at some point, or he’s straight up hiring photographers for her cause he can’t do it.
I mean, we all know that Jumin will put Elizabeth everywhere but I just— It’s on the BOARDING PASSES? JUMIN!
There’s also a postcard within the letter that is once more, written in all three aforementioned languages. Saeran says that it feels like a dream when he is with you, like this is where he’s always meant to be. His promise of happiness is made truest when he’s with you. I teared up a little. I know that he means well when he does that but damn, does it take an arrow to the heart every single time he does it.
Tumblr media
Saeran put a lot of thought into this in a very short amount of time. I know that he did this plan likely with the idea that he may not be able to go with us but he wanted us to be able to see the world for him. You know, how he implied that he wanted Saeyoung to see things for him? To live for him? Even if he was dead, he wanted Saeyoung and the player to be happy and free.
The blurred state on those... doesn’t have names. It doesn’t name Saeran in this photo.
The implication of his sacrifice with the boarding passes kind of hurts because this is a side note of the fact that Saeran Did Not Know If He Would Live To See This Through. He made it thinking maybe.. if things worked out, it would be an okay future, but this was... God. I just. I’m thinking about the weight of the AE and what that felt like. I almost glossed over the Boarding Pass because I was just so upset with him.
I’m the type to try to sacrifice myself for others, too. I have that in common with Saeyoung and Saeran.
I think that we’d argue over who should die for the others and while that’s macabre, it’s just the kind of people that we are. We love these people so much that we’re willing to die if they’re safe and sound. Knowing that, I understand what Saeran tried, and even what Saeyoung tries, but it’s hard cause I want to make sure they’re happy in comparison to myself.
This is where being selfless is a bad thing.
Tumblr media
Does anyone know what a big deal it is for Saeran to have a passport? He’s never had an ID or paperwork in his entire life. If he did, he would’ve been killed, so would his brother. They’re both never had IDs. Unless you count the ones from the Agency and Mint Eye. They’ve got them in the Believer box with their names and faces, but that’s not official. That’s not paperwork that everyone else has. That’s just...
You know?
Seeing this tangible thing in my hands is a testament to Saeran Choi being alive and thriving. He’s not afraid of showing his face. He’s living. He’s a free man and nobody can kill him for existing. Does that not weigh on anyone here? It hit me and I wanted to cry. I might break down thinking about this later because I just take this too seriously. Look at him. Look at HIM. Okay? Did you look? Now, LOOK AGAIN.
Okay, I’m not going to share every single page inside of the passport but I will give you little snippets of the journey ahead and show you what he writes and draws. Yes, he’s drawing. I knew that he was talented because he is great at doodling and drawing, but he knows how to have such a cute style that I want to gush about and he probably has no clue about how cute it is because nobody’s ever told him!
Okay, so the trip is broken up over a few months and into segments. You know how I was surprised by the 3 languages? Yes, this passport is written in three languages and it stays that way. It implies that Saeran knows English and Spanish, or at the very least, he’s been studying them, I get that it’s kind of a neat tie in to make sure that all languages are included but I only English and I can only read Spanish, I suck at conversational Spanish, so I could only read the English and Spanish sections.
So, if anyone wants to throw in what the Korean segments say, please do. I have a rough idea, but it’d be nice to know. The first segment of the trip is spent traveling over Korea. You see the things that he packed in the bag!
I almost had a heart attack because I thought the vitamins were Caffeine Pills. I was about to beat my Husband and make him go to bed. Thin ice, Saeran. Thin ice, the Special Believer package implied you take more then ten and I want you to go the fuck to sleep at night.
He packed his hanbok! Look! You remember? From the title screen event? The blue shirt is the one that he matches with MC in. There’s so much I’m screaming about it.
It shows you things that you do. Like, biking, karaoke, gardens... is there a locket bridge in Korea? You know? If you put them together on a bridge, it’s said that your love lasts forever. I forget where that came from but I guess there must be one in South Korea, too. Oh, and food. Can you believe that he can eat whatever he wants now? I’m sobbing.
Please.
HE’S IN HANBOK. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.
Tumblr media
Okay, here’s the thing. I only have one gripe with the Passport Package and I’m going to say this again at the end, but I really wish that they had included big photos for this because the Passport itself it rather small and I wish that I could have bigger photos of this. It’s my only complaint. Literally, it’s the only thing I have to say about the box that will affect my rating. Look, we’re doing cheesy couple stuff!
HE’S DOING THE HEART THING WITH HIS HANDS.
A KISS.
KISS.
GUSHING.
DYING. HELP. ME.
God, I wish I wasn’t broke. I would commission someone to do this for my MC.
Tumblr media
The second and third portion of the trip are spent in the U.S.A. and Mexico, I was so surprised by that! New York and Hawaii specifically are what they name and I was. Well, those are really far apart, huh. I mean, those are very popular spots. I’m not surprised. I’m chuckling because he’s got matching outfits.
Saeran Choi, you really want the embarrassing couple look, don’t you? Well, if it’s for you, I’d do it. Did... Saeyoung or Jumin set us up, are we fucking loaded? There’s mad bank here.
Saeran and MC basically are living per Jumin and Saeyoung, to be honest, because Saeran’s never had a job and MC is... your MC literally agrees to go and test a game in the woods, how good can our lives be? I’m broke, boy. I ain’t got nothing. So, I like to think that those two are offering to let Saeran be as happy and free as he wants. No expense. Like, kindness. The RFA is too damn much, I’m gonna cry. I’m starting to understand why the RFA didn’t hear from us for months.
The final Check-In with the RFA is set 6 Months after the events that take place when we save Saeran. The events of this Passport cover 3 months. So, we go back to Korea after this adventure and met up with Saeyoung, because we know that we’re hanging out with him in the conclusion. So, if they haven’t really heard from us, that means that we’ve been traveling more with him.
I kind of like that.
We’re spending time with Saeran alone and time with the brothers together, and that’s sweet! I love that. I need to write more about it.
I’m trying not to laugh about this Mexico portion but it looks like he passed out from an ice tea... lemonade...? It’s surely not alcohol. Maybe too much sugar, I know that crash can hurt. I’ve been there. I just know that you’re not implying the man with alcohol trauma is gonna drink. Nope. Neither he nor Saeyoung ever will do that. I stand by that statement and I’ll die by that statement. Bite me my tongue if I’m wrong, but I stand by that.
Saeran is at least mindful of the sun. He’s also made notes that the perfect time for sunset is 18:34. Cute. He notes that it’s time for the Day of the Dead as well, so that’s fun!
IS THAT A FUCKING V CACTUS—
TWO V CACTUS—
Tumblr media
There’s actually a portion in here where he asks you certain questions and you have the space to fill in it. I like that it’s interactive.
Do you have favorites sweets? Are there things about yourself that you hide? Did you make sure to ask Santa what you wanted? I’m wheezing. The food doodles are one thing, and the Christmas photo is one thing, but he really drew himself as a butterfly and the MC as a bug catcher.
“CATCH ME, MC.”
Help me.
I’m laughing so hard.
Saeran, you fucking goofball.
Tumblr media
And, the last page of the passport is us assumedly returning home with all kinds of trinkets and gifts. Flower crown, snow globe, cactus, hats, listen, there’s a lot of details in this photos that I really wish I could have it blown up.
That’s really my only complaint about the Passport Package. I really want to have bigger photos that are shared. I wouldn’t have minded if it was the photo of the final CG in the game, or the Christmas photo, I really would have enjoyed getting that to have for myself.
You know? The passport itself is roughly like 5 x 7 or so, so while it’s not big, it’s still like. I would love to see the details blown up. It’s smaller then the diary, that I know for sure. I think it’s the only thing stopping from giving Cheritz a 10/10 on this item.
I’m going to have to give them a 9.8/10 simply because it feels like we are lacking one big photo.
I guess I’ll print my favorite CGs and decorate my room like that. But, all and all, I really enjoyed reading this and it made it feel like I was there and I was able to reflect on Saeran’s vacation with the player. Like, he was doing this as we were going using his little doodles... I’m in love with this fucking sap. I’d say that this is worth the money.
For sure.
My only gripe aside. That’s a personal problem, not really a content problem. I love this bastard.
Look at him, he’s GOT A PLUSHIE. I have so many things that I want to write about now thanks to this. Saeran, darling, sweetie, my love, I am dying. Either way, I’m glad this arrived when it did. I needed this. I justified getting this for myself because I don’t expect to get anything for my birthday in early February but I’m happy I have him.
It’s been five years since I found this game in August 2016. I’m happy that it’s been here with me.

In Saeran's AE at the end (Good Ending) they show a very happy scene, even Saeran says that everyone will be happy as if it was a typical fairy tale, but... the truth is that the game doesn't give the same happiness to all the characters. V and Rika, despite having taken responsibility, will take a long time to recover to be really happy. Rika looks smiling on the outside when she decides to help us but we know there is pain. When she hugs us and says she loves the RFA she cries because she knows that she will most likely never see them again and that perhaps none of them will forgive her. If Rika and V had run away from everything after the third day their fate would have been much, much worse, but they did not. They had two choices: either they continue to sink together to their doom where nothing can save them... or they face justice and accept the consequences of their actions, but with the possibility of fixing their lives by going the right way this time (and frankly it will take a long time, especially for Rika). The RFA look happy but are obviously still hurting deep down for being betrayed by the people they thought were their friends, however for them it is easier to move on by sticking together as a real family who support each other. They will wish Rika and V well but for everyone's sake it is better to let them go. I like that realistic tone that the end of the AE leaves you with and I hope it stays that way, those wounds between Rika and V with the RFA are very hard to heal. I really didn't want reconciliation scenes and although it's sad it's the consequences and you can't undo what's been done just like that. — Submission
Exactly. V and Rika made their choice. They had a chance to turn around many times but they didn't. They both committed to what they were doing and there was no turning back down the path they set out on. There was a chance. They didn't take it. They have to sit there and accept that now if they want to move forward in life. You can't always fix and get back everything that you've made mistakes with, but you have the right to make peace with yourself and try to live your life as best you can. It's not easy but you have that right.
Forgiveness is a choice you make. You decide what it means to you at the end of the day. You can wish someone the best and forgive what happened, or even just forgive yourself for getting hurt if that's what you need. You can choose to forgive and leave. You can choose to let go and never look back. You can hold onto the hurt as long as it's not hurting you or anyone else. It's your choice as a victim to decide what you want to do, and the game lets you make that very clear.
There's no telling what kind of life V or Rika will have going forward, but the RFA wishes them well, and that's a lot more than what most people might do after something like this. The path to hell is paved with good intentions. Just because you wanted to do something right doesn't mean you choose to do the right things... and that's what happens. Accepting the loss that they will face will only help them find peace of some kind of they make some kind of life for themselves.
The RFA will move on but they will never forget.

Now that Rika's birthday is coming up, I wonder if after the end of Saeran's AE, while her serving her sentence, she will receive a happy birthday from the RFA members? Maybe they send her letters and don't go personally? But I don't know... Would it be better that she has no contact with them for the sake of her recovery? I see Yoosung maybe doing that. It's really not easy to treat that person like in the past now that you know all the bad he did and you want to be close....
Rika likely will have no interaction with the RFA going forward post Saeran’s After Ending. That is going to be for her mental health and for the health of everyone else. I cannot even see Yoosung sparing her a moment of his time, however, if he does, Yoosung would be the only one to give Rika even just a sliver of a chance. That is to say, he might visit her once because he wanted badly to hear her explain herself as he did in V’s After Ending, but apart from that? It’s more likely in the Secret Ending because Yoosung and Zen have no clue what the hell Rika did and they likely never will.
But, in this After Ending, they know everything and there’s no way to undo that fact. There is a reason why nobody wants to talk about her when the After Ending comes to a close and they only mention a mere sentence about her and a little more about V. She’s broken and lost all her ties and chances with those people... and it’s the same story for V. Jumin might give V a single chance for a letter here or there, but that’s also broken and likely never to be fixed. There is no undoing what has been done. You don’t get away with what they did for their own selfish whims. It doesn’t matter how they rationalized it.
It was the point of no return when Saeyoung was drugged by Jihyun... and for Rika, she’s already been beyond that point for some time. There was no way to turn around for them because they fuel the worst in each other every day they linger close to one another. V and Rika should never be in contact again, either. They all need to move on from each other and make peace with their mistakes to build some kind of better life. Just because you broke something doesn’t mean that you don’t have a chance to make sense of yourself and find peace down the road.
Saeran believes that Rika and V will be able to forgive themselves and make something of their lives someday, but he certainly won’t be there to see it.. and it’s unlikely the rest of the RFA will be there, too. It’s just the way the story goes here. It’s tragic but it’s just the way it is. Actions have consequences and there’s nothing that can be done about that apart from accepting that this is the end for them.
For Rika’s sake here, she doesn’t need to talk to the RFA ever again. That’s her past. She can feel bad for what happened but she shouldn’t go back. There is no fixing her relationships and there is no peace to be had. The most she gets is the fact that Saeran has forgiven her and that’s it. She’ll have to make peace with that much. She spent months trying to figure out how to manipulate all of them to come to Mint Eye so she could make them stay forever and flaunt them in V’s face to prove her point. There’s no way to undo that. She cannot fester on wanting them back because she lost them the second she began to craft Mint Eye and gave up on herself.
If she wants to get better, she has to realize that she needs to be her own person going forward. To accept her punishment, she knows that she needs to grow up and let go of the things that she cannot get back. She has to let go of her dreams of a family with the RFA because it’s simply never going to happen. The RFA isn’t going to let her come around them because it would be a slap in the face to everyone... Sorry to say, she’s not getting letters from anyone or hearing from them.
That isn’t to say she won’t make new relationships, either. She just can’t have the old ones back.

It took literally four hours to emulate and copy the in-game style. My eyes are like aching now because I had to spend all that time working on details like the eyes and the face shapes because MM has such a specific style and I basically had my face pressed to my screen and my phone trying to get this right and well, I think it turned out well, but only God knows if it turned out well.
This is like the second time that I’ve ever drawn Nari. I was really inspired by that one part of the AE, and I wanted an excuse to be able to draw Lila, Saeran, and Nari. Now, I did, and I thank myself for doing it. Obviously, don’t reshare or repost my art. Thanks!

Ref
I’ve been itching to draw the Good Ending content for the After Ending for a while now because... listen, these are extremely cottagecore these days and I just cannot hesitate to draw them being cute together. It’s my weakness, I can’t help it. I love Saeran and I’m gonna go cry now because staring at all of my refs made me go a little insane.

Because of the fear that Ray'AE generated in me due to the bad endings I got, I found it hard to understand its story and its moral so I doubted if I liked it or not T_T however after a while I played it again and this time I understood it better and at the end I loved it and thanks to you talking about it it was better "Forgiveness is a choice, not an obligation" :D I wonder if something similar didn't happen to you at the beginning, haha.
It can be confusing if you're not sure of the personal choice that comes to forgiveness. It can also be confusing if your cultures views this as something that means that you are okay with what happened in the past and you want to allow those people back into your life. Forgiveness does not mean that you are okay with what happened to you. It means something different for everybody.
Sometimes, this forgiveness is something you choose because it feels like the right thing to do for you. You may be forgiving another person so that you may have the ability to forgive yourself. You may be forgiving that person because you know that they can be better and you want to be there to see them grow. You can forgive that person and wish them the best, while closing that chapter and never thinking of them again. You can choose to not forgive people, as well. As long as you're not hurting yourself or other people, then it is your prerogative and choice to decide if you want to forgive someone or not. No person should ever be ashamed for deciding to handle their trauma in a way that feels right for them. That is the theme.
I wasn't conflicted with the path that it took because it felt right for Saeran. I may not be the kind of person that has the tendency to forgive others. However, that does not mean that I don't empathize with people who choose to forgive. The reason why Saeran chose to forgive was because he wanted to have the ability to forgive himself. He wanted to let go of the anger and hatred. That doesn't mean that he doesn't experience those things, he wants to live without letting it suffocate him anymore. He is tired of being angry. He wants to move forward but to move forward he has to confront the past. He has to learn how to forgive himself for what he did to the player. By choosing to forgive those that led him to do what he did, he can forgive himself for turning out the way that he did. If he can look a monster in the eyes and forgive them, he can look himself in the eyes and forgive himself.
He doesn't want to hold onto grudges or anger anymore. That's why he chooses to forgive. He doesn't shame anyone for choosing a different path. Nobody else shames him for choosing to do what he does, either. Because when you're a victim, it is your choice to decide how you handle the path of forgiveness. That is, if you choose to forgive the person that hurt you or if you choose to hold on to it. Saeyoung is the opposite of his brother. He is never going to let go of the hurt, but it's not going to hurt him to hold on to that. He chooses to handle it differently than his brother, but his choice is just as valid as he has that right. Once you play through the after ending enough, it should start to make more sense when you look into how they are handling that situation in their own way.
Forgiveness is a choice that you can make for yourself. It is never an obligation. Nobody is entitled to your time. You decide how you handle your life going forward. If you feel that it is something that is going to help you on your journey, then you have the right to decide that. That is what you should take away from this ending.

Hi! I looked it up and found this reddit post from a person who (bless their heart) went and created a guide to Saeran’s AE. 4 BEs and a relationship bad ending?! God damn it Cheritz! And theres a normal and good ending!!!! GOD DAMN IT CHERITZ!!! Anyway in case you get the very last bad ending on the final day here’s the guide to help you, it guides you for all the endings and notes where to reload to get certain endings and stuff. If I get the last BE on Day 4 I swear to god-
https://www.reddit.com/r/mysticmessenger/comments/kfz66o/saeran_ae_good_ending_choice_walkthrough/ — submission
I’m not going to use a walk-through guide but I think there are some people that have already hit a Bad Ending unlike me so I’m gonna share this for the people that have lost a lot of HG or are really struggling right now. It’s good that someone went ahead and made one and shared it for the people that want it. So, I’ll post it for the people that want it.
I kind of like that I don’t know what to click. It’s scary, but… I’m following my heart here and I’m going to keep doing it that way. Good luck to anyone that play it like me or wants to use the guide!
