Once again thinking about Sasuke thinking Tsunade’s actually Naruto’s grandma

Current thoughts on it: Naruto unlocking a version of Mokuton (something something the Uzumaki and Senju being sister clans so Naruto gets something similar but not exactly the same, anyways!) and him and Sasuke put it together that whatever Naruto can do now, it’s a lot like what the first hokage could do

So of course, first thing they try and do is see if Naruto can do it without the necklace, turns out he can! While thinking about it, Sasuke hears Naruto refer to Tsunade as “granny” again and starts to really think about it

While looking into it, he finds out that Tsunade’s grandma was an Uzumaki (and maybe somehow completely overlooks any mention of other Uzumakis which doesn’t seem too impossible since like. no one seems to know anything about Uzumakis for some reason)

So Naruto: has a similar ability to Tsunade’s grandpa, kinda looks like Tsunade?, was given the first hokage’s necklace (this would look really weird if you were not in the know of why, let’s be real here), and the only other “Uzumaki” that he can find evidence of was Tsunade’s grandma

So clearly, Naruto’s v closely related to Tsunade, but then why would she not claim him as family??

I love your most recent redesigns, they also look so much more like ninja, still kids but more equipped for the job they have, especially Sakura. I also love how with team 7 they all wear the forehead protector on their foreheads. Then with the beginning of the chunnin exams they look a little older and even more prepared than at wave. This is weird, but I love how disheveled team 7 looks after the exams, it really shows how dangerous the exams are and how taxing it was on them both physically and mentally, also Sakura wearing Naruto’s jacket by the end of it really drills in how much they all care for each other. It’s just so good.

with how shitty his childhood was and how many barriers i headcanon that it created for him, i think being in the place of a parent would destroy the final doubts about how bad naruto's childhood was.

something about about the breaking of cycles: something about naruto having a child and that child not having to budget at four or starve, about that child not being *alone*, about that child being so so loved by their huge family. something about that child growing taller than naruto, because naruto was malnourished and they are not. something about naruto having his kid come up to him asking for help and be knocked on his ass by the trust he has been given: how this child has no doubts about naruto's care and love. something about how this child will never ever truly understand the sheer... emptiness that sometimes lingers on naruto, how they will never get why simple things like ramen together or shikamaru's hand on his shoulder or sasuke silently picking out the tomatoes out of naruto's take out makes naruto tear up.

how naruto will watch his child not understand and be so so glad. (some things are not meant to be known. this is one of them.)
