…and don’t let anyone convince you that their degree makes them smarter than you. or better than you. or more successful than you. or harder working than you. or more deserving than you. All it means is that they had better support systems. better resources. adequate accommodations. All it means is that you both had goals and plans and dreams, but the world let you down while it was seeing them though. All it means is that our society is deeply lacking both systemic and systematic equitability. And that is something to be angry or upset about, absolutely, but not ashamed of.

My period 1 teacher shames me for how I speak. He makes me overthink my speech patterns. "Do you think or do you know?" Do I think or do I know? What does it matter! But no! According to him, saying "Ok, I think" is bad because it's not definitive. Whatever the hell that means. I really don't like him.

It's lovely when you have a course with a group exercise and not a single person wants to work with you.

We should have done an experiment in teams of 2, and no one wanted to be my partner. Literally no one. The professor ended up working with me because no one else could be found. I thought things would get better at university, but it's all just a repeat performance of petty school social dynamics.
