Omg I literally JUST GOT THIS ASK SECONDS AFTER I MADE A POST ABOUT HER BYE - but since it was literally seconds later I’ve just deleted it and I’ll put it here!

Sooo here’s her redesign!

My little baby…I'm so obsessed with her.SOME MORE INFO -

• Seasaidh is sketchbook baby number 2! Where Saskia is a magical biological baby, Seasaidh is their adoptive daughter, hence why she has a Gaelic name (it's pronounced like Jessie but with a Sh instead of the J)

• She's also TRANSGENDER !!?? Yeah :] she was adopted when she was still male presenting but realised she was a girl pretty young. Picture 3 year old Seasaidh waddling up to her parents and announcing that she's a girl, not a boy actually. Since she was so young Johanna and Kaisa picked out a new name for her, since her birth name was Gaelic they wanted to keep her new one in the same langauge out of respect for her heritage, so they chose Seasaidh to match Saskia alliteratively! Her transition is done via magic

• Seasaidh's original design had blue hair, and I had a whole thing where she and her sister got it dyed at the same time, and Saskia let it fade but Seasaidh kept up redoing it. Buttt I think the blue hair and other factors made Seasaidh look more like a Frilda baby than a sketchbook one, and also her design just didn't have a lot of Kaisa in it, so her hair is the same colour as her mama's. I think the new hair dye explanation is that Saskia has this faded blue hair dye that she did herself when she was little bc she wanted to be like her big sisters, and now as a teen she’s very embarrassed about that and insists she doesnt and never did, but she still makes sure the dye doesn't fade completley. Seasaidh just never dyed her hair, she still looks up to Hilda a lot and really wants to be like her but her family always put a lot of emphasis on appreciating her natural hair, so she likes it just the way it is. Plus I think it's sweet to imagine she keeps her hair a natural color because she doesn't want Johanna to feel left out as the only natural haired person in the family

• Anyways, Seasaidh looks up to Hilda a LOT, she even inherited her classic boots when Hilda grew out of them! She's heard all about Hilda's adventures and wants to have ones just like them one day, she wants a cute animal companion and everything! Seasaidhs general arch is about learning to be an individual and to not put Hilda on a pedestal so much

• Seasaidh also has a lot of struggles with feeling like she's not really a part of the family. The fact that she's adopted, and Kaisa is so focused on trying to connect with Saskia (Kaisa loves both her girls the same for the record, she just ends up focusing more on Saskia because shes more distant than Seasaidh and she feels like she doesn't connect with her as much, this inadvertently leads to her not spending as much time with Seasaidh, which gets to her overtime), and the fact that she wants nothing more than adventure and magic and was born after Hilda's big adventures involving the two mean that she feels left out a lot. She worries she's not as good as her family members and is always trying to prove herself - she wants a big adventure to prove it to them, but there just isn't one for her yet. With time though she is able to realise her family's honestly overwhelming amount of love for her, and forge her own path instead of trying to follow in her sisters footsteps

•I mentioned in my Saskia post that she doesn't become a witch despite her natural talent, buttt Seasaidh does! Despite her lack of natural talent lol. It takes Kaisa a wee bit to actually take notice of Seasaidh's interest in Witchcraft (maybe there's an angsty arch where Kaisa's focus on Saskia for this makes Seasaidh think shes favouring her because she's her biological child, and Kaisa feels IMMENSE guilt for making her think that), but once she does Seasaidh ends up studying to become a witch! And she's pretty good at it too. I think it would take her a while to find her familiar though, which frustrates her to no end bc she wants one soooo badd

In general Seasaidh is basically just a mini Hilda even when she's not consciously trying to emulate her. She's chaotic and adventurous and loves weird creatures and making friends. I think she'd be a bit more social than the rest of her family, she makes human friends much easier

I'm not sure what her artistic talent would be…it'd be kinda funny if she was just bad at art in general maybe lol, another thing that makes her feel left out. But I could see her keeping a sketchbook of some kind. And it would be perfect to have sketchbook baby carrying a sketchbook around, yeah imma go with that - she keeps a sketchbook! And she's pretty good for her age, I think she'd like drawing with markers the most

TELL ME ABOUT SASKIA IVE GONE TO LONG LETTING THAT FIRE CHARACTER DESIGN GO UNAPPRICATED

AAAAH IM GLAD YOU LIKE THE DESIGN!! BUT she and Seasaidh desperately need a rework, here’s a little doodle of how that might look for Kia -

My baby. Lomve her. ANYWAYS SOME STUFF ABOUT HER!

Saskia is the biological child of Johanna and Kaisa, born when Hilda is around 15 probably. How is she their biological child? Magic!

As a magical contruct, magic comes naturally to Saskia. There was probably a lot of mishaps as a baby with her being unable to control said magic and it coming out in chaotic ways, but as a teenager she’s got most of her natural ability under control and it only comes out when she’s experiencing extreme emotions. Her natural magic is fairly basic, but she could be a very successful witch if she put her mind to it given her natural advantage. Trouble is…she doesn’t, she’s not interested in magic, or anything to do with adventure really

Saskia is sort of the black sheep of The Pearson family, i.e. she’s the ‘normal’ one. She doesn’t crave adventure in the great wide somewhere or powerful magic beyond her reach, she just wants a normal life. She’s a teenager, she finds the notoriety her family has gained due to their adventures more embarrassing than anything else

She’s got kind of a “ugh, MUM you’re so embarrassing!” vibe and is pretty closed off, but deep down she loves her family more than anything

It’s Kaisa’s first time as a parent, and as someone who still feels as if she failed at being a Witch she’s determined to ensure Saskia never feels that way. Plus, magic and Witchcraft is part of her culture and she wants to share it with her daughter - this results in her pushing her to learn magic even though Saskia doesn’t really want to, and drives a wedge between them for a bit. They work through it eventually though, and as Saskia gets older she comes to appreciate her weird family and the natural magic within her that she once tried to hide. She never becomes studying Witch or anything, but overtime she and Kaisa find common ground in participating in the less ‘grind to become the most powerful witch possible’ aspects of Witchcraft

As for what she does become, she’s a writer! I like to give every Pearson family member a creative talent that they shine in (Johanna is ofc a Graphic Designer, Hilda canonically keeps a sketchbook but I also headcanon that she grows up to be a wildlife photographer, and Lauren is a painter!), and Saskia’s is writing. Her main avenue is poetry, but she enjoys writing any genre of fiction. She’s a massive bookworm as well

By the time she and her sister are hitting their teen years, Lauren has probably moved out, and whilst Hilda might not have she definitely would be spending a lot of time away adventuring (though they both come back home frequently, Lauren for one lives like 5 minutes away). With her older sisters not living at home, Saskia considers herself the eldest sibling and the responsible one in the house, and doesn’t like being reminded that she isn’t. She probably tells people at school she’s the oldest too, half in attempt to make sure they don’t figure out who her family are

She’s a grumpy baby but she really does love her family and she’s my baby and I love her a lot

anyways, so, Seasaidh is a chaotic little shit, she’s always getting herself into some sort of adventure and dragging her sister along with her. Saskia wants nothing to do with this shit, she just wants to focus on school and live a normal life.

Given her family that’s practically impossible

First off we have Seasaidh! She’s very excitable and adventures, so a little puppy made sense for her

I actually hate tumblr. I'm leaving the site and i'm never posting again. IT POSTED THIS GOD DAMN ASKS EARLY. THREE. TIMES. I'M ACTUALLY LOSING IT IM SO SORRY LMAOO ANYWAYS ( @existential-dread-crisis)

👤 - What's the origin behind their name? I wanted one of their names to sound like it was chosen by Kaisa, since Johanna chose Hilda and Lauren's names already, and Saskia has a similar sound/vibe and shares a lot of letters of Kaisa's name, plus it sounds pretty! For Seasaidh, I honestly just wanted a Gaelic name KMJNHB, and since she was adopted and thus already had a name I got to do that! I also wanted to choose one that was easy enough for english speakers (so, one that didn't use sounds that aren't in the english language), since thats like. everyone who follows my blog lol. and though Seasaidh's name looks difficult to pronounce, it's literally just Jessie with a Sh instead of a J lmao. Ofc I also had to chose names that worked well together, and given that they both begin with S and share a lot of other letters, i think they do! 🌈- What's their most defining traits? Seasaidh's most defining trait is her sense of adventure (Hilda 2 electric boogaloo) and her want to be like her big sister (Hilda 2 electric boogaloo) Saskia I think is best described as like. The everyday Jo. ish. She, more than anyone else in her family, just wants to live a normal life, which doesn't usually go well (She loosens up more as she gets older) 👑 - What's their favorite childhood memory? Getting their hair dyed together! Neither of them have natural blue hair, and for a while they felt left out because of it, since both of their older sisters had that hair colour. So eventually, as a surprise gift they were able to get their hair dyed blue! Seasaidh keeps hers that same vibrant blue, but Saskia lets her's fade over time so she doesn't stick out too much in a crowd (but she'll never let it fully fade) Also fun fact - Lauren is the one who dyed their hair :)

HI don’t mind me I’m just asking abt ur sketchbook kids again.. I saw u said that sketchbook adopted seasaidh a while after her sis was born so I was wondering, did they like go looking for a 3rd child or did seasaidh find them?

Kaisa and Johanna were looking to adopt another child since Saskia had proven to be very calm and easy to care for, so they figured they’d be able to handle another kid! So Seasaidh was adopted via traditional means (and proved to be more of a handful than they’d bargained for, but Johanna had plenty of experience taking care of chaotic children, so she didn’t mind)

Happy pride I made Sketchbook children ✨ disappears into the night ✨

Nah but really, these are my two lil sketchbook babies!

Both girls had their hair dyed blue when they were younger, on the same occasion. Seasaidh kept it that colour, whereas Saskia began to let it fade over time.

Saskia is the elder child, born via magical means when Hilda is 12, and she’s the typical “UGH MUM YOU’RE SO EMBARRASSING-“ teen. She just wants to blend in and not stick out, which is hard given her family’s history. She’s a bit of a nerd, and excelled at writing, taking a particular fancy to poetry. She’s sarcastic, reserved, and short tempered, but learns to embrace the chaoticness of her life the older she gets.

Seasaidh - pronounced like Jessie but with a Sh in place of the J (it’s a Gaelic name :D) - was adopted when she was two, and assigned male at birth. By the age of 5 she firmly told her parents that she was in fact a girl, and Kaisa and Johanna immediately accepted this and went on with their days. Seasaidh is full of energy and adventurous spirit, she frequently returns home with twigs in her hair and mud all over her shoes. Speaking of her shoes, they used to be Hilda’s, since she had long since grown out of them by the time Seasaidh came a long. They’re old and faded, but Seasaidh refuses to wear anything else.

The OC you’ll find the most of on my blog is Lauren, she’s my main girl

I also have my sketchbook fankids Saskia and Seasaidh, who I’ve only very recently made and posted

I ended up adopting one of the concept designs for Kaisa, and naming her Vanessa! She was originally going to be Lauren’s girlfriend but I’ve since changed that, though I still have plans to use her :))

Aside from them, I have two more OCs that I haven’t revealed yet, both of which are go to be very important to Lauren’s story
