Apology Cakes

Description: Bucky orders an apology cake every few weeks and each time it had some ridiculous apology written on it.

"I have to ask him if he's being serious." Your eyes widen at what was written down on the order form in front of you.

"He was pretty damn serious about this one when he called." Julian, your co-worker, sighs, placing his finished cake into the fridge.

"This is getting ridiculous, Juls! Last week it was the 'I'm sorry I puked on your front porch last night, and you had to clean it up, and now this week it's the 'I'm sorry I accidentally sold your grandfather's ashes on the dark web" cake!"

Julian laughs, "I need to know how he accidentally sold his ashes. I need to meet this guy, what does he look like?"

You roll your eyes at him smiling, "He's quite easy on the eyes but gosh his apology cakes are so odd."

"He'll be here to pick the cake up at five this evening. I made sure to add the little Uru for shits and giggles like he asked." Julian gestured towards the fridge.

"Thank you again for covering for me this morning. Now you better get to your afternoon class." You push him towards the exit.

"Don't forget to text me what he says about the cake! I need the tea!" He laughs, grabbing his backpack before leaving the shop.

For the last three months, you have had a customer come in and order the most ridiculous apology cakes you have ever seen. At first, they were pretty normal, like 'I'm sorry for the things I said over Mario Kart,' but then he started ordering the odd ones like 'I'm sorry I slept with your mom' or 'I'm sorry my cat brutally murdered your hamster.' But not to mention the breakup cake he asked for two months ago 'I'm sorry for cumming in your eye & also I think we should see other people." That had to be an interesting way to be broken up with.

But this cake, oh, this one, took the number one spot. How the hell do you accidentally sell someone's grandfather's ashes on the dark web?!

So when 5 o'clock rolled around, and he was making his way through the door of the bakery, you couldn't help but blurt out what you had been dying to ask him.

"Okay I have to know Mister Barnes, I've been dying to know. Are any of the apology cakes true? Like the one from three weeks ago 'I'm sorry I asked you to pull my dick and yell pull the lever Kronk'?" You cover your mouth with the palm of your hand trying not to laugh, "Shit I'm sorry I shouldn't be so nosy."

He chuckles, shaking his head, "That one I was serious about. I thought it would be a turn-on! Could you believe she grabbed her stuff and left?"

"Um-

"I'm joking doll. No none of these cakes are serious. It's just an inside joke between me and my friends."

"Oh thank God! I thought you might have some serious issues." You laughed, wiping at the fake sweat on your forehead. "This last one had me a little concerned for whomever this one was for." You handed over the cake.

"Oh yeah no this one is actually true. I accidentally sold my friend Sam's grandfather's ashes and it's quite a long story." He nonchalantly shrugs his shoulders. "If you're interested in hearing about it would you like to go out for coffee sometime?"

Your mouth falls open slightly in shock. Was he seriously asking you out after admitting to selling someone's grandfather's ashes? How could you say no? This was going to be interesting.

"Yeah, I would love to."
