“grunge shein codes” “goth shein codes” “punk shein codes” i rly hope you know all of those subcultures will laugh in ur face. they’re literally anti-establishment, anti-capitalism, anti-consumerism, anti-corporate greed, & sm more. punk is literally based off DIY ethics 😭. anyway. thrift, shop second hand, estate sales or yard sales is the way to go. fuck your shein codes.

“I’m wearing a thrifted Reebok skirt, Jones New York blazer, basketball championship tee, Sam Edelman shoes, and tights gifted to me from Sheertex. If you’re familiar with the ‘wrong shoe’ theory I love to incorporate elements of that ideation into my looks. For example, if I’m wearing a big frilly ruffle dress I like to harden it up with lots of edgy chunky silver jewelry and huge black stomping boots. Or for example, wearing a schoolgirl outfit with the tie worn ‘wrong’ and juxtaposing it with a foam finger t-shirt. I love to play with balancing masculine and feminine elements in all of my outfits.”

“I thrifted this dress last summer and I immediately I wanted to wear it on the first school day in fall. I like the dress because it is colorful and a but crazy.”

Selling on Mercari
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I've been unemployed since February and taxes were really hard this year, so I'm selling some things on Mercari and plan to add more soon.
Currently there's official merch of Phoenix Wright, Mob Psycho 100, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Danganronpa, and more.

Interest check.
So I was thinking maybe something along the lines of a Solarpunk fashion week.
Probably around the same time as Paris Fashion week with it not being too close to solarpunk aesthetic week and it being around the same time as Paris one I think would just fit for showing a more sustainable side to fashion.
Basically showing off clothes/accessories that are:
Handmade (whether by yourself, bought or comissioned)
Second hand
Repaired
Altered
Held onto and used for years
I've meant to put togther outfits for both solarpunk aesthetic weeks and forgot but if it's a week for it I'm more likely to remember.
I know personally I've got several outfits that are fully secondhand and don't even realise that the full thing is at times.
I think it'd be a fun way to help show the sustainable side of fashion and also anything you've made or repaired yourself and haven't had the chance to show off.
Edit:
Forgot to mention when I came up with this I was also thinking if you didn't want to share pictures of yourself you could just share the clothes itself or if you don't have some but have sketches or even just describe ideas it'd be some more accessible options.

This was one of the most cathartic shoots I've ever done and my proudest one, too. Handmade and thrifted egl is my passion, finding a good deal and something to repair is what I live for. There's a look book video in the works that showcases my handmade and thrifted egl clothes and accessories.
Jsk, Headdress, Wristcuffs, Bag: Handmade
Blouse: Bodyline (thrifted)

“I’m wearing Fluevog Mary-Jane’s, a thrifted Aritzia plaid skirt, a men’s brown leather jacket from Value Village, a sweater from Goodwill, and a necklace made by my bff Icky Purrls who is a Vancouver based jewelry designer. I’m inspired by my high school self who always wanted to wear little tartan skirts and frilly socks. I also really like matching my art, which most people say is cute but I think it’s a little creepy too!”

Newest thrifting acquisition. Though I predominantly dress in black, olive green is one of my absolute favourite colours, especially for clothing. This particular jacket is also very nostalgic for me, as my dad had one extremely similar when I was a teenager, and I used to steal it. His had patches and embroidery on it, and I'm sure this will end up with some of those 😁
Tumblr media
BTW, thrifting pro-tip: this was in the children's section, and is labelled as being for a 14-15 year old. I am 42 years old and it fits me perfectly (I'm a UK size 10). Do not be afraid of checking out the section of your charity shop/thrift store that isn't "intended" for you - the kid's section tends to be much cheaper, and many items intended for a large child will fit a smallish adult (if you're very petite maybe stuff for even younger kids will fit you).
Even if the thing you like doesn't fit, you can often mod it in some way, like cutting off the front of a t-shirt and sewing it onto one that does fit you, or turning it into a patch.

“My fit is inspired by my Christmas holiday, which started today. I put on the most comfy clothes that I found. The hoodie is Yung Lean merch and the balaclava is made by my dear friend Halle.”

This week I went back to visit the discussion in the notes on @seaweed-solarpunk’s post on solarpunk fashion. I collected all the suggestions in reblogs and tags and tried to find common themes to organize into a concept map. This is just my interpretation, but I think the three most important tenets of solarpunk fashion are eco-friendliness, inclusive design, and personal significance.
Tumblr media
[image ID: a colorful branching concept map where the central idea is Solarpunk Fashion, and the three main branches are in primary colors. Where the branches connect and overlap, the color changes to a secondary color between the primaries. All text in the bubbles is listed in the text to follow. End ID]
Eco-Friendly
• Local sourcing
• Biodegradable textiles
• Durable
• Closed-loop production
• Biomimicry
- Integrated biotechnology
- Upcycled electronics
• Heirlooms and Secondhand
- Thrifted
- Hand-me-downs
- Dumpster-dived
- Clothing swaps
Inclusive Design
• Body-type inclusivity
• Accessibility
- Decorated disability aids
- Physical comfort (including for those with sensory issues)
Personal Significance
• Radical authenticity
- Genderfuckery
- Rejection of mega-corporations
• Handmade/modified
- Small practices
- DIY
- Visibly mended
• Culture
- Religious symbols
- Pride flags
- Traditional dress
I’d love to hear what the solarpunk community here thinks of this framework, what you’d keep, remove, or change.

Time for more mending! I got this shirt over the weekend at a vintage festival (I got more clothes from the vintage fest). When I got it I didn't know that the second to last button was missing, which is an easy fix. Then when I was washing it the third button from the top fell off. I managed to save it!

Then the bottoms I am using. One is a replacement and the other is the original.
Tumblr media
Fixed the top one! With it's original button! I had to redo it when I noticed that I sewed the button upside down so it didn't match the other original buttons.
Tumblr media
Then I fixed the second with the replacement button I already owned!
Tumblr media
All finished and fixed!
