Goto Matabei's Armor.
It was said that Goto Matabei (also known as Mototsugu) was born ready to fight. He was a much-respected professional warrior of the Sengoku period who often proudly boasted of the 53 scars on various parts of his body, trophies of the many wars in which he had participated.
Goto Matabei was recognised for his fierce bravery during Hideyoshi's Korean Campaigns, and fought at The Battle Of Sekigahara under Kuroda Nagamasa as a captain in the Eastern forces. Matabei was another of the samurai fighting under Tokugawa colors that day who would later side with Toyotomi Hideyori in Osaka.
He was killed in the Summer Siege of Osaka in 1615. During the Battle of Domyo-ji against the numerically superior troops of Date Masamune, Matabei was badly wounded by a bullet, and unable to stand, committed seppuku on the field.
This suit of Tousei Gussoku armor is said to have been one of many that belonged to Matabei.

Game Theory: The True Identity of Traum's Sengoku Archer!?
source : www . reddit . com/r/grandorder/comments/16ankiz/game_theory_the_true_identity_of_traums_sengoku/
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
reddit comments Commentary:
No, I’m not talking about Detective Ikeda Sen from Return to Shironaga Island.
This is my own little theory as to who the unnamed but still important enough to get a unique portrait Archer in Traum is. Namely, that it’s Nagayoshi’s IRL waifu!
She’s been mentioned on here before in the FGO community by u/10gn and u/wep_wawet in these posts.
The big “clues” are that she’s a riflewoman from the Sengoku period, which given how Fate will throw a genderbend curveball every now and then might not mean much, and that she’s apparently a Buddhist nun. Both criteria fit Ikeda Sen very nicely.
Ikeda Sen was born around 1563 to the Ikeda Clan. She was educated to a high standard and trained in martial arts.
Unusually for a woman at the time, she also became well-versed with firearms, particularly the “Tanegashima” arquebus which was highly favored by teppogumi (gun units).
Sen would eventually lead a Teppō unit of her own consisting of 200 female musketeers.
When precisely she was married to Mori Nagayoshi isn’t clear, but it had to have happened sometime between 1574 (assuming everyone involved waited for at least one of them to turn 16, the average marrying age during the Sengoku period) and 1584.
There’s even less to go on in regards to the state of their union, but Nagayoshi was on good enough terms with the Ikedas (Sen’s father didn’t like him though) to be a frequent ally to them during campaigns.
Ikeda Sen and many of her family members have the distinction of filling out the Great Uniter bingo card of the Sengoku Era, as they fought for and against each of the major administrations associated with Nobunaga, Hideyoshi, and Ieyasu (if not the men themselves).
Sen might have fought to avenge Oda Nobunaga under the banner of Toyotomi Hideyoshi during the Battle of Yamazaki against Akechi Mitsuhide’s forces. This is somewhat in dispute, but there are anecdotes claiming she did, and some evidence that she at least tried to volunteer for that army.
Ikeda Sen’s next major theater of combat was the Battle of Shizugatake between Hideyoshi and Shibata Katsuie, wherein the Ikedas sided with the former and lay siege to Gifu Castle.
The Battle of Komaki and Nagakute was next, the historic clash between Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Tokugawa Ieyasu (well, technically Oda Nobukatsu). With the Ikeda Clan fighting for Hideyoshi once again, Sen’s father Tsuneoki devised a plan to outflank the Tokugawa forces to attack Ieyasu’s stronghold at Okazaki Castle directly.
Unfortunately for the Ikedas, the movements of their 6000-strong would-be siege force did not go unnoticed, and they were eventually boxed in by pursuing Tokugawa armies.
By the time the Battle of Komaki and Nagakute ended in a peace agreement between the two lords after much back-and-forth in military advantage over several months, both Sen’s father Tsuneoki and her husband Nagayoshi had fallen in battle.
Nagayohsi and Sen had no children.
Eventually, Sen remarried. This time to Toyotomi daimyo Nakamura Kazuuji. They had two children together, including the future first lord of Yonago Domain.
Kazuuji would leave Sen as a widow once more upon his death in the August of 1600.
Afterwards, the now 37(?)-year old Sen became a Buddhist nun.
This peaceful transition did not last as the Battle of Sekigahara flared up just a couple of months afterwards in October of that same year.
There are possibly apocryphal sources that claim Sen picked up her old gear and entered the fray alongside the rest of the Ikeda Clan, this time fighting for the Tokugawa faction.
I really want this to be true, because the image of her being approached to come out of retirement to fight in this battle, only for her to say “no” before deciding to say “yes” and reassembling her old squad is just Hollywood in the best way possible to me.
This might seem unlikely, given that Ieyasu’s armies killed both Sen’s father and first husband for what was ultimately an interim conflict with dubious gains.
On the other hand, Ishida Mitsunari had a bad habit of burning the bridges his regent had built and alienating allies on his side of the shore. So the Ikedas ditching him out of spite is rather probable.
There were records of Sen’s life written as late as 1640, making it likely that she lived for more than 80 years.
As to the reality and fantasy of Ikeda Sen’s military career and the 200 other gunwomen at her side, there is a strong article of evidence that indicates that at least some of it happened: rice.
“Rice Wages” (or koku) to be exact, an estimate based on the total economic yield of a person’s land. By the reckoning of 1650 Japan, the country was assessed at 26 million koku.
For her various exploits both in combat and politics, Sen was awarded 10,000 koku on record. Not an astronomical sum (the Shogun directly controlled 4.2 million koku and a person of interest being given over a 100,000 koku wasn’t unheard of), but it was approximately the amount a castellan or even a daimyo would possess.
Now this rifle-toting lady could be, if she’s supposed to be anyone, Tachibana Ginchiyo, Yoshioka Myorin-ni, or Enkyū Myōgetsu, Women in the Sengoku period who fit the criteria (a strong association with firearms and Buddhism).
She also doesn’t show up in Nagayoshi’s GUDAGUDA chronicle chapter. So who knows?
I just thought it’d be cute if it was Sen. She and Nagayoshi could form a nice comedic (if not romantic) couple in Chaldea. They’re both auburn-headed, they both got them psycho gold eyes, that rugged charm, the big chests, and they’d have a classic melee/far-range complimentary skill set.
She could even show preferential treatment to Ranmaru just to annoy Nagayoshi when she’s feeling cross with him.
Maybe it’s just the hopeless romantic in me.
But hey! That’s just a theory. A Game Theory (minus the NFT-parsing and milk machine smell).

do you have any information about joshin? ive been trying to find stuff about nobukatsu's later years but only know surface level stuff (bulit a big garden, had a silkworm farm and sold them, and lived a carefree life as an old man etc) though i want to know if theres a little more or if im missing something.
There is nothing much to it. He already retired after the Osaka battles, and even the silkworm farm seemed to have nothing to do with him either. His domains in Obata and Matsuyama were apparently run by his sons and/or vassals, and he himself just lived a retirement life in Kyoto. The garden was built, but he himself didn't even go to see it.
The only interesting thing that happened that I was able to find was that in 1628 Hidetada or Iemitsu invited him for a tea ceremony. By all accounts it appears he just didn't really do anything but just have a relaxed retirement once the Edo government is settled.
The cited materials are books and government documents that isn't free to view on the libraries I usually use, unfortunately. I actually have to have some sort of verified registration to look at it, so if there's actually more info in there, I can't see.
Now, if you're asking for Joushin in the time before Hideyoshi's death, Sekigahara, or the Osaka battles, there has been a lot of conspiratorial speculations there.
I will need to pull up the reference later, but I remembered reading in passing a story from one of the Tokugawa chronicles where Ieyasu told his vassals to make sure to get Nobukatsu out of Osaka safely. Tokugawa chronicles are propaganda so aren't entirely reliable, but if this one happens to be truthful, then it supports the version of narrative where he was present in Osaka during the Summer or Winter campaign.

Kisekae Insights #47: Kamen Rider Zi-O Part 5 - Before Quartzer
Tumblr media
Since Drive, the Blu-ray collections for Rider series have contained spin-off drama miniseries that serve as tie-ins to the main series, providing context to a character or an element in it. Before Quartzer serves the same purpose, but it provides background to multiple characters.
If the main series itself is “Over Quartzer”, then this miniseries is Before Quartzer while the post-series specials (that I will cover in the next instalment) is After Quartzer. As I stated in the last instalment, Between Quartzer was originally going to be two minisodes before they were merged into a filler episode.
Let’s take a look at the miniseries and then after that, I’ll share a summary of the original elements introduced in the main series.
Part 1: Zi-O and Decade
This minisode is a clip show consisting of various clips from Three Kingdoms and Soulbound with references to the demonic overlord and Hiroki Ichigo trying to investigate its identity as he finds his own timeline continuing to change despite efforts to stop it. The threat of Ohma Zi-O’s existence is described as on the level of the Time War, the Dimensional Merge, the creation of the dimensional bridge, the Parallax War and the black hole paradox.
There are some original scenes showing how Hiroki and Kayley got their X equipment from Ohma Zi-O and how the Kamen Riders were assembled for the Ohma War. There is also a scene showing how Mark found an amnesiac Sougo in the laneway before the start of the series.
Part 2/3: The Other Zi-O
The backstory of the other Sougo is covered in this two-parter.
In 2006, Sougo and Karen are friends who live twenty years apart from each other and frequently hang out in each other’s eras. Over time, the portal linking the two years shrinks and by the Battle of Chibi in 2008, the portal has fully closed.
A little while after, Sougo meets Fifi Forget-me-not and they become a couple. When the accident that killed Sougo’s parents happens the next year, he briefly returns to pick up Fifi before they elope as Sougo pursues his new dream of being king.
The next part skips to 2012 when Parker’s army fights the Sanada Army. The Flowertots are offered to be taken in by the fairies of Never Land and Fifi decides to part with Sougo. A few months after during the Salacian Rebellion, Akari and Narutaki are killed by Tubarina and Marcello before Veronica is saved from Marcela by Sougo, who kills the three Salacians before escaping with her. After some deliberation, Sougo allows Veronica to travel with him. Yes, Veronica, Akari and Narutaki’s cousin, never got her chance to shine because she went to a different school than her cousins; she only got introduced as part of the Teiro Army/Kurayami Alliance in 2014. I never got to know Veronica personally because of this (although some of my schoolfriends apparently did), so this was my chance to give her a bit of time in the spotlight.
The Battle of Sekigahara and the Ōsaka Campaign take place in 2015, a year later than in the original timeline. At this point in time, Sougo’s time powers (that were granted to him by Swartz in 2009) have developed to the point that he can freeze time, but because he usually allows Veronica to move with him in frozen time, the freezing effect is reduced to merely slowing down time. At Ōsaka Castle, the two of them make their way up to the top floor of the main keep and defeat the enemy commander. The dying enemy commander uses the last of his strength to shoot Sougo, but Veronica takes the shot; in her final moments, Veronica tells Sougo to be the best king he can be and not to let anything stand in his way, adding that the time she spent with him was the happiest she has ever been. Sougo is reported to have disappeared after this.
In 2018, Parker sends a letter to Sougo, pleading for him to return as the entire land has become his enemy and he needs Sougo’s help. However, Sougo’s attention is focused on a package that was, unbeknownst to him, sent by Swartz, containing the Ziku Driver and Zi-O Ridewatch. As he is confronted by Polvina and a small army seeking revenge for their fallen allies, Sougo transforms into Zi-O for the first time and defeats them, dedicating his first battle to Parker, Karen, Fifi and Veronica. He then goes back to the box and finds some more Ridewatches along with a laptop and Ridewatch dock, containing a message telling him to unlock all 19 Legend Ridewatches by collecting battle data, which he does over the next few months. The Ridewatches the other Sougo would unlock are merely emulations of Rider powers rather than the actual powers, thus they are not affected by the main Sougo unlocking his set of Ridewatches using the Riders’ actual powers.
Sougo then meets his main self during the events of episodes 9 and 10, then creates the Zi-O II Ridewatch from his end before going on to meet his main self again during the events of episode 16. After this, he is shown sending off his Cyberman figurine to his main self before hallucinating Veronica waving at him, being unknowingly seen by Queen Fifi and passing by a now-older Karen Brewer who had reunited with Sougo, albeit his main self.
Part 4: Geiz and Woz
The last minisode shows the backstories of Geiz, Kazuto and Luna, to an extent, showing how they ended up in Ohma Zi-O’s future and their time with the Resistance before they decide to go back in time to 2018.
Luna is found by the Resistance in 2058; having no memory of herself or her name, one of the Resistance leaders decides to adopt her, giving her the name Luna.
Geiz, also known as Andrew Cui, assisted Yuki Nagato in resurrecting Parker Zhou after his execution following the battle with the Sanada Army in 2011. After returning home, Geiz is visited by Yuki and sent to the future, having been tasked by the Data Overmind to guide him to an influence coming from the future.
Kazuto Hongō was captured in the battle with the Sanada Army and is sentenced to be executed as well, only to be saved and given a new purpose by Ohma Zi-O.
Geiz and Kazuto are brought to the year 2063 where they are taken in by the Resistance and Ohma Zi-O respectively. Kazuto is given his mission to join the Resistance as a spy and he does so, managing to beat Geiz and the other Resistance members during training.
Five years later in 2068, Kazuto leads a splinter unit with Geiz and Luna in it. The Resistance are visited by the Decade Riders who offer to assist them in defeating Ohma Zi-O. Kazuto reports this to Ohma Zi-O, who has Swartz working for him as his advisor in Kazuto’s absence. It is Swartz who gives Ohma Zi-O to guide another version of himself into this timeline to become the next Ohma Zi-O, despite Kazuto’s objections.
The Ohma War happens and Ohma Zi-O brings the main Sougo from the 2012 of his timeline to 2068 before sending him to 2018 while scattering the Riders throughout time. Swartz disappears after this and Kazuto is sent back to the Resistance.
Later, Kazuto offers to act as a spy for the Resistance; this is the perfect opportunity for him and Ohma Zi-O to deal with the Resistance once and for all. Kazuto is ordered to get the Resistance to bring everything they have to one place before he is tasked with heading to 2018 and guiding the main Sougo into the way of the overlord.
Most of the Resistance is defeated at the hands of Ohma Zi-O, with Geiz and Luna among those surviving. Geiz follows after Ohma Zi-O and steals the equipment he would use to become Kamen Rider Geiz, using it to confront Ohma Zi-O and avenge his fallen comrades. Ohma Zi-O had foreseen this and fights Geiz, who steals the Ghost and Drive Ridewatches out of his hands before leaving. Geiz goes back to the Resistance camp and takes one of the Time Mazines (that had turned red in response to Geiz’s awakening Rider power) to head back to the past. Luna gets into another Time Mazine and follows after him, leading into the events of the series.
Summary of original elements for this series
Zi-O Decade Armor
W Form (Double CycloneJokerXtreme)
Kuuga Form (Kuuga Ultimate Form)
Origin
Another Riders
Another Growing Kuuga (N-Daguva-Zeba)
Another Double (other Half Changes x7)
Another Magica (replacing Another Kiva)
Another Shugo (replacing Another Den-O)
Another Gold Drive (recolour of Another Drive)
Another Ninja (recolour of Another Shinobi)
Another Decade Complete
Kamen Riders
Kamen Rider Wakusei
Kamen Rider Taiyou
Kamen Rider Woz The Next
Tsukuyomi ABC/Zikan Ratchet
Rapier Mode - Zaba Zaba Strike
Hatchet Mode - Jiri Jiri Hacking
Pick Mode - Wabu Wabu Picker
Diend Ultimate Complete Form
Zi-O Quartzer (same as main form)
Il Salvatore Geiz (same as main form)
The Zi-O Over Quartzer Ridewatch and the Il Salvatore Geiz Ridewatch are identical to the aurora-plated Zi-O Ridewatch and the China-exclusive Geiz Ridewatch, which is practically metallic armour for them. Zi-O Quartzer’s transformation tune is based on what would come later for Zi-O Ohma Form and Il Salvatore Geiz’s transformation tune is based on that of Geiz Revive Shippu.
“レベレーションタイム! 仮面ライダージオウ! クォーツァー!” “Revelation Time! Kamen Rider Zi-O Quartzer~!”
“セイビアータイム! ゲイツゲイツゲイツ! ゲイツゲイツゲイツ! イル・サルバトーレ ゲイツ! ゲイツ!” “Saviour Time! Geiz~Geiz~Geiz! Geiz~Geiz~Geiz! Il Salvatore Geiz! Geiz!”
So, you know that one Supplementary Plan episode where they joked about Tsukuyomi becoming a Rider before it actually happened? We made the Ridewatch a real thing. Tsukuyomi ABC’s main design element is that the Ridewatch (the artist says that he got the dial’s direction wrong, but to me it fits perfectly for this) and helmet visor uses the “TSUKU” lettering as shown in the gag, otherwise the rest of the suit is the same as the base form. This form also grants her an original weapon, the Jikan Ratchet, which is a retool of the Jikan Despear made to be held at the hilt like a rapier, hatchet or pick-axe, therefore the touch panel is positioned as such. The transformation tune is a hybrid of Geiz and Tsukuyomi’s transformation tunes.
“ライダータイム! 仮面ライダーツクヨミ♪ ツ・ク・ヨ・ミ! ABCタイム! 仮面ライダー♪ A・B・C!” "Rider Time! (Elegant electronic music) Kamen~ Ri~der~ Tsuku~yomi! Tsu-ku-yo-mi! ABC Time! (Electronic beat) Kamen Rider~ (Cut back to elegant electronic beats) A-B-C!"
Another Decade Complete is an original monster to the adaptation which serves as Another Decade’s upgrade form. It is accessed through the Another Driver, with the Decade Anotherwatch on the right side and the Decade Complete Anotherwatch on the left side (this is the inverse to conventional Ride Armor use on the Ziku Driver and is done so due to how Anotherwatches are made for the right side of the Driver).
“コンプリートタイム! 完全無欠裏ライダーの力… (アナザータイム!) 極まれりせよ! ディケイド! コンプリート!” “Complete Time! Kanzen muketsu ura Rider no chikara (Another Time!) Kiwamareri seyo! Decade! Complete!”
Akihito can transform into Kamen Rider Woz The Next, the suit being of Zi-O Woz Armor but without the scarf and with the helmet of Kamen Rider Woz.
“投影! フューチャータイム! 限界! 展開! 世界! 仮面ライダー ウォズ ザ ネクスト!” “Touei! Future Time! Genkai! Tenkai! Sekai! Kamen Rider Woz The Next!”
This adaptation’s version K-Touch 21 removes the button for Zero-One and replaces it with the Clear button like on the original. The 21st power for Decade Complete Form 21 is that of Kamen Rider Ninja, being highlighted due to being the odd one out of the Heisei Riders (that is, he wasn’t a Heisei Rider or an original Rider created to replace a Heisei Rider).
Diend’s upgraded K-Touch (for Diend Ultimate Complete Form) uses the 5x4 screen with a card that has the power of all 18 secondary Kamen Riders (with the exception of herself and Kuuga because his series didn’t have a secondary Rider).
Speaking of Decade, I have a theory about how Decade (using the Neo Decadriver) could use the powers of other Rider forms while in their default forms. A friend of mine shared this to me from a Discord server he was in:
The NeoDecadriver needed codes to accommodate the Heisei 2 Riders, so they cut out all the subforms for everyone except for finals. The attacks and items for a Rider are now accessible in their base forms. I initially thought they were being fucking lazy when they had Agito using the Flame Sword in his base form and Wizard using water in Flame style, but after seeing how they did the cards for the H2 Riders (and how Agito's individual form parts were apparently always available), that had to have been intentional ...now that I think about it, that may be why DecadeArmor uses the first upgrade forms (when applicable). Fucking Tsukasa gave Sougo his leftover cards as a watch.
As for why Zi-O’s Decade Armor forms switch between being based off of upgrade, super and final forms? Aside from availability, another reason could be that they had to select forms that didn’t conflict with the Decade Armor parts for the torso and shoulders, mostly the undersuit-based forms. This likely explains why Decade Armor Ghost Form uses Grateful Damashii and not Toucon Boost if the other Decade Armor forms are based on “first upgrade forms”.
In terms of Decade Armor W Form and Kuuga Form, why did I pick them to be based on Double CycloneJokerXtreme and Kuuga UItimate Form? For Double, FangJoker is a form that uses Philip as the body and thus, Shoutarou wouldn’t be able to just upgrade into that form without detransforming. As for Kuuga, the Rising forms and Amazing Mighty are merely upgrades of the base forms and thus the undersuit looks rather plain compared to Ultimate.
Let me tell you something about the Mirai Driver. In the centre where the different faceplates can be placed, there are four holes on the bottom which are buttons used to trigger the different sounds in the P-Bandai DX release. With the right-most button being used as the activation trigger, there are three buttons left which are used to detect which faceplate to activate the sounds for. Each button would correspond to Shinobi, Quiz and Kikai, but then we have Ginga, which is activated by holding down the two centre buttons. When you consider the combinations you can make with three buttons, that means that there are three more combinations that are not used.
If one of those combinations are for Hattari, then the other two combinations are for Wakusei and Taiyou. Their faceplates are rehashes of Shinobi and Hattari, with Wakusei’s faceplate being a circular planet model revolving around a central point and Taiyou’s faceplate being a picture of a sun that can be spun. Wakusei’s finishers are the Planetary Spark, Big Bang Utopia and Extinction Blast while Taiyou’s finishers are the Supernova Bolide, Sunstorm Energy Impact and Destruction Burst.
My version of Ginga’s faceplate would work differently in that it has a standby loop like Shinobi and Quiz. It’s unfair that we never got a henshin sequence for Ginga and he honestly deserves one.
Next time, we’ll take a look at the post-series specials that are collectively known as After Quartzer.

Civilization VI gets new leaders in the game
Tumblr media
Leader Pass - Great Commanders launches for Civilization VI game on Linux, Mac, and Windows PC. This is once again due to the work from developer Firaxis Games. Which is available on both Steam and Humble Store. The next DLC pack for Civilization VI: Leader Pass - Great Commanders - is now out. Due to lead your troops to victory with the Great Commanders Pack. This includes Tokugawa (Japan), Nader Shah (Persia), and Suleiman the Magnificent (Ottoman Empire). Check out the First Look and details about the Leaders below:
First Look: Great Commanders | Civilization VI: Leader Pass
youtube
Tokugawa (Japan)
Tokugawa Ieyasu was a vivid military and peacetime strategist. One who founded the Tokugawa shogunate following the Battle of Sekigahara. Since this is what ended Japan's chaotic Sengoku period. His in-game Sakoku agenda is lead by the edict of the same name made by his grandson. In the Civilization VI: Leader Pass, this leader dislikes Civilizations that have conquered other Civilizations' original capitals.
New Ability: Bakuhan
(Base game) International Trade Routes receive -25% Yield and Tourism. But Domestic Trade Routes provide +1 Culture, +1 Science, and +2 Gold. Doing so for every Specialty District at the Destination.
(Base game) Cities within 6 tiles of Japan's capital receive +4 Amenities. Doing so after researching Flight receive +1 Tourism for every District.
(Rise and Fall & Gathering Storm DLCs) International Trade Routes receive -25% Yield and Tourism. While Domestic Trade Routes provide +1 Culture, +1 Science, and +2 Gold for every Specialty District at the Destination.

Nader Shah (Persia)
Civilization VI: Leader Pass lets you play a slave who declared himself Shah. Nader was a skilled military commander with successful campaigns and conquests. Since this is what made him the richest man in the world. Named for his elite infantry musketeers, his Jazayerchi agenda means he likes Civilizations with lots of land units. While disliking those with few land units.
New Ability: Sword of Persia
+5 Combat Strength attacking full Health Units.
Cities not founded by Nader Shah receive +2 Faith and +3 Gold on Domestic Trade Routes.
Suleiman the Magnificent (Ottoman Empire)**
As the tenth Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, Suleiman led Ottoman armies. Due to enacting major reforms to Ottoman law. He was also is an accomplished poet and patron of the arts. One who oversees a golden age of cultural development. As a result, he likes other Civilizations that are currently enjoying their own Golden Ages in the Civilization VI: Leader Pass.
New Ability: The Magnificent
+15% Science and Culture when in a Golden Age.
+4 Combat Strength when not in a Golden Age against Civilizations who are also not in a Golden Age.
Also, do keep in mind, the Steam page only lists Mac and Windows PC support. But on SteamDB, Linux is also included in the platform support. At the time of writing, I have not personally tested the Civilization VI: Leader Pass content on Linux. Civilization VI: Leader Pass is a new season pass that adds 18 new playable leaders to the game. Available on both Steam and Humble Store. Priced at $19.99 USD / £17.99 / 19,99€. #SAMURAI WARRIORS 4 II PC STUTTER UPDATE#
This update adds the second Vault Card for players who own the Director’s Cut content, adds 100 bank spaces, and addresses various reported concerns! UPDATE NOTES NEW CONTENT Took me 150 to get all trophies, currently looking at 60+ on 4-II and know a lot of that will be just grinding levels and books.Today we will release an update and hotfixes for Borderlands 3, which will be live on all platforms by 12:00 PM PST. The OG version offers just as much as 4-II, and if you like story then you'll find Chronicle Mode (you roam Japan as a Ronin and befriend everyone) far more rewarding than 4-II's battle castle challenge.Ĥ is also less grindy. If I had to tell you to get one, get SW4. And as the same people over and over again, as I said. In 4 you could play Sekigahara twice, depending on who you want to play as, but in 4-II you end up playing it many times depending on the campaign because everyone important to the story modes was there. I did the stage in Naomasa's story, now I have to play it again as him in Takatora Todo's story just to count it to the trophy. As is Sekigahara, which is a very important battle, but as the game wants you to plat every stage with every character is a bit excessive. Honnoji, where Nobunaga died, is repeated three times iirc (though one is an alt-history scenario which is a bit of a fresh take). Disco Shamisen madness.)Īlso said above is how certain battles are repeated. It's by far the most memorable song in the game. Best song in the game was relegated to the options menu in 4-II and though I can change it at will, I used Itsukushima to level grind because I knew it like the back of my hand. Same with Shikoku.Ĥ-II is missing a lot of good story battles, and I am sore Itsukushima didn't make it in. The Mori did this in 4, but when you play Kyushu the Mori are the bad guys (and thus weren't initially playable). In 4-2, this campaign starts with Takakage struggling against the Oda at the point just before they join forces, then later on how they helped quell later battles in Kyushu. Then how they struggle against the invading Oda/Toyotomi before eventually coming to an alliance with them to bring peace to Japan.
#SAMURAI WARRIORS 4 II PC STUTTER PS4#
I platinum trophy'd SW4 on PS4 and currently going for SW4-2, so I'd like to weight in.Ĥ and 4-2 have identical story modes but, as posted above, different focuses.įor instance, in 4 you can follow the Mori clan as father-son duo Motonari and Takakage overturn the status quo at Itsukushima (the most important non-famous battle of the period imo).

Tachibana Ginchiyo - The warrior nun of Yanagawa
Tachibana Ginchiyo (1569-1602) was the daughter of Tachibana Dōsetsu, an influential retainer of the Ōtomo clan in Kyushu. In the absence of a male heir, Ginchiyo became the head of the Tachibana family at only 6 years old and occupied the position until 1581. She ultimately married Tachibana Muneshige, who had been adopted into the family. He thus became the clan’s leader by marrying Ginchiyo. Ginchiyo remained nonetheless extremely influential and it was said that she and Muneshige didn’t get along well.
Ginchiyo was interested in military matters. She notably inherited her father’s sword Raikiri (”Lightning Cutter”). Her elite guard was entirely composed of women and she made sure that every woman working in the castle could take part in its defense. Such measures prevented eventual attacks on her domain.
In 1586, the rival Shimazu clan besieged the Tachibana castle. The women, equipped with firearms, fought the enemy, while Ginchiyo defended the castle gates.

The Tachibana clan ultimately allied themselves with Toyotomi Hideyoshi (a preeminent general considered as Japan’s second “great unifier”) in the afterward of his campaigns to conquer Kyushu. Hideyoshi entrusted Tachibana castle to Ginchiyo who lived separately from her husband. She was also in charge of managing the whole clan’s estates when Muneshige was absent. It is also said that Hideyoshi tried to visit Ginchiyo while her husband was away. He soon gave up on the idea when he saw her armed women and feared her ferocious personality.
Ginchiyo never gave birth to a child. Muneshige divorced her and she became a buddhist nun. This was not, however, the end of her military career. After Hideyoshi’s death, the power of the Toyotomi clan declined and civil war broke again in Japan. In 1600, the battle of Sekigahara  opposed the Toyotomi supporter to the army of Tokugawa Ieyasu , who would ultimately establish the Tokugawa shogunate.
Tokugawa supporters marched on the Yanagawa castle were Tachibana Muneshige was. Their advance was however stopped by an unexpected resistance stronghold at the south of the castle. It was the convent were Ginchiyo resided. She had decided to lead the other nuns in armed resistance. The exact nature of her defensive measures is unknown, but they were certainly efficient.
The attackers were Muneshige’s former comrades in arms. Ginchiyo’s resistance  convinced them to offer Muneshige to surrender and join them in a campaign against the Shimazu. Muneshige agreed and was later pardoned.
Ginchiyo died of illness in 1602 at the age of 34 and was buried in a temple in Yanagawa.

「 HAIKYUU!! SETTERS AS THINGS THAT REMIND ME OF HISTORICAL EPICS 」
Tumblr media
: ̗̀➛ AUTHOR’S NOTE. what can i say? i have no other explanation other than to say that i am a history buff. i spend most of my time either watching historical movies or stuff on youtube and just be awed at what ancient or medieval rulers did at the time. so, what if the haikyuu!! setters were like them too? consider my history-nerd side going off in this post. everyone here is inspired by many historical figures and i just mash them up together.
: ̗̀➛ WARNING(S). mentions of blood and violence, i.e, impaling (what did you expect? history is rarely ever pretty), though the description is not very explicit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
OIKAWA TOORU: ‘the great’, gold crowns made from intricately detailed sculptures of leaves, acorns, and flowers, mounting a stallion with a furious demeanour as its rider, vexilla glistening beneath the sunlight on their way to a battlefield, battle horns tearing through the sky as a sign of their arrival, putting two plumes on their battle helmet with the purpose of attracting their enemies to fight them, eyes burning with the flames of a thousand ambitions, clashing of the swords with kings doomed to fall before him, military campaigns to discover and raid other lands, the people erecting a massive statue during their reign as a sign of gratitude and worship, battle of gaugamela, “there is nothing impossible to him who will try.”
KOGANEGAWA KANJI: ‘the bruce’, raising a rebellion against an overlord to gain independence, an outlaw king, every lord in the region pledging their loyalty to the king crowned by the people, regardless of birthright, a gold diadem upon their heads as they rode out to battle, only armed with fabric cuirass and chainmail, the call to stand together against an overwhelming number of enemy troops, muddy battlefield where it had rain the night before, telling one of his soldiers to not announce his fatal injury as to not discourage his men, instead, beat the war drums louder, battle of loudoun hill, “if you at first don’t succeed, try, try, and try again.”
AKAASHI KEIJI: ‘the determined’, planning battle strategies in their dreams, shooting balls of fire from trebuchets to pound another kingdom’s brick walls, building walls surrounding the enemy’s kingdom to trap them inside and intentionally letting them starve to death, battles taking place in a forest, the trojan horse, defeating another ruler who has a considerable age gap, a siege that goes on for fifty three days, intended to make chángshēngbùlǎo yào (elixir of life) but ended up inventing gunpowder, both a benevolent ruler and a master of war, battle of hastings, “in my end is my beginning.”
ATSUMU MIYA: ‘the lionheart’, raising a rebellion against one’s own father with a brother, strong arms suited to wield a longsword, a gruesome scar across the face that will haunt the rest of their days, executing traitors and enemies either by the gallows or beheading, insulting their enemies and got captured for it, crusades to recapture the holy land, accidentally invading a neighbouring kingdom (conquest of cyprus), proposing a one-on-one fight to spare the lives of their men, able to fight with a non-dominant hand in case the dominant one gets injured, battle of arsuf, “brave men should either conquer nobly or gloriously die.”
KAGEYAMA TOBIO: ‘the magnificent’, laurel wreaths made from real leaves, not gold, tunic adorned in rich, gold embroideries under the tyrian purple toga, their subjects required to prostrate before him when he’s present in a room, meetings with the senates held in curia julia, abolishing a corrupted system that has burdened the empire for decades, trusted advisors eventually turned traitors mingling in their political court, constructing a colosseum, watching the gladiatorial contest or the naumachia (mock sea battles) every week, owning a majestic golden chariot pulled by the strongest and fastest of white stallions, battle of alesia, “experience is the teacher of all things.”
KENMA KOZUME: ‘the young king’, ascending the throne before coming of age, bloodstains on fallen sakura petals and broken tree branches, torn karuta after an exhausting battle with a stubborn and strong enemy, broken katana blade gleaming under the moonlight and sadly, beyond repair, bloody wounds that never really heal but every single one holds a memory, battles fought near shallow waters of a river, sengoku jidai, hundreds of warships among the coastlines to anticipate any attack from the waters, endless bloody feud between prominent clans, battle of sekigahara, “a clear and innocent conscience fears nothing.”
SEMI EITA: ‘the bold’, magnificent red robe draped behind the shoulders, attaching a talisman representing the goddess of battle and wisdom before he goes out to battle for good luck, ambushing the enemy’s camp at midnight, the sound of horses’ stampede running down a hill accompanied by the screams of their men, face stained in mud and blood, breaching the enemy’s gate with battering-rams as thousands of arrows rain upon them at the same time, the sun shining through the clouds as they celebrate their victory, lavish banquets full of music, food and wine for his soldiers, inviting their enemy to their tent and deciding whether to give them a glass of water or not, first arab siege of constantinople, “death smiles at us all, but all a man can do is smile back.”
SUGAWARA KOUSHI: ‘the good’, age of enlightenment, offering protection to his distant family members who have been betrayed or usurped, fortifying the walls from unexpected sieges by barbarians from the sea, attacking the enemy fleet with greek fire, singing along with their soldiers as they march towards the battlefield to lift their spirits, the marching sounds of their army from behind a hill, heavy rainfall during a battle, soldiers grouping together to form a shield-wall to protect their leader, continuing to stand and fight even after falling from their horse, siege of paris, “fate and history conspired to make me what i am today.”
SHIRABU KENJIROU: ‘the impaler’, swearing revenge against a comrade who betrayed and killed one of their family members, not often engaged in battles but still leading their army from the safety of the capital, using the environment to their advantage to overtake their enemy, impaling traitors and an enemy’s entire army’s head on a pike and put them on display along the castle’s walls, demoralizing their enemies by showing symbols, singing, and beating drums, walking through piles of dead enemies’ bodies, disguising a lavish dinner feast with a goal to capture all of his traitorous boyars, sacking their enemy’s kingdom if they refuse to surrender, trapping the enemy’s troops by forming a shield-wall while pushing their spears towards them, night attack at târgoviște, “a man’s greatest joy is crushing his enemies.”
MONIWA KANAME: ‘the kind’, forming a decision to never execute people during their reign, developing plans to improve the empire’s agriculture, inventing new weapons to easily overwhelm enemies, marching through a desert with all of his troops just to make a peace treaty, would rather form a diplomatic alliance than waste his men to meaningless bloody wars, establishing sīchóu zhīlù (silk road), the tang dynasty (also known as the ‘golden age’), wanting to build the greatest wall the world has ever seen, a humble ruler the empire has ever had but still holds justice in the highest regard, battle of huoyi, “endure what is difficult to endure and to suffer what is difficult to suffer.”

My Zesty, dear master- I was having this conversation with @jiyuu-chan, and got this idea. What would happen if our dear MC, says that she is from the future to all the warlords and says that she read about them. And then she gets angry and rambles on about how much she had to break her head learning history - about them, just to score marks- like their policies, legal wives and children and so on 😏😏
Tumblr media
OH MY GOD AAAAAA!!! Ok so you and Jiyuu are two of my many favorite people on this entire website, and I literally love you guys and your amazing ideas, so I had SO MUCH fun writing this! I’m so sorry it was so late, but thank you for the great request, as usual! 😂💕💖
I hope you don’t mind, but I only did this for the Azuchi warlords because it makes more sense. But if you want to, I can still write the same headcanons for the Kasugayama warlords!
With that being said, enjoy! ^^ ❤️💖
゜。*※О゚。※。*※О゚。※ ゜。*※О゚。※。*※О゚。※ ゜。
Nobunaga: Ok so, when you told him that you’re from the future, you had already sparked his interest, but when you started to tell him about how you had to learn about Japanese history, including him, he was even more intrigued. Even if you were rambling angrily, he was happily listening, especially when you mentioned the fact that he was the most powerful daimyo in Japan, popular with women, and the country’s first great unifier. He also raised his eyebrows at how Mitsuhide did end up killing him at Honnoji, but didn’t think much of it (he’s prepared with knowledge now 😌). However, when you mentioned that Kichou was his wife and that Ranmaru was practically his sex kitten, he almost choked on his konpeito, and was humiliated by Masamune and Mitsuhide when they found out. I guess fame comes at a price ((but he was relieved when you told him that the marriage with Kichou wasn’t a happy one and that the person who bore him his three sons was his concubine *coughcough* Kitsuno *coughcough*))
Hideyoshi: He was a bit startled when you began ranting to him about your experiences as a miserable high school student being forced to learn about “pointless things” when you’d rather sleep in bed all day. He became even more surprised when you told him about the fact that he was the second unifier of Japan after Nobunaga (and was secretly proud of himself), however, it all came crashing down when you told him about his affairs while he had a wife, Nene, and how he married Nobunaga’s niece, Yodo-dono. It became even worse when you told him that Nobunaga sent Nene a flirtatious letter, telling her that even if her husband thought she was spoiled goods, Nobu thought she was a fine piece-a meat (not word for word but that’s the gist of it). He was also a bit salty about Ieyasu taking Japan from Toyotomi rule. But when he found out about Kichou marriage with Nobu and Nobu’s sexual relationship with Ranmaru he had a stroke.
Masamune: Out of all the warlords, he was the most excited when he learned about the future, especially how history text books in your times describe him. He practically sparkled when you mentioned the campaigns he’d lead at the age of 14, how he was responsible for the first Japanese voyage across the globe as well as being a patron of the arts, and even gave katanas to the Pope!!! He was incredibly proud when he heard that his wife and several other concubines had bore him 16 children, and earned a smack from Hideyoshi when he gloated about it. Though, when you mentioned that Kichou was Nobunaga’s wife and that Ranmaru was a side piece, he laughed for what seemed like 10 minutes, and didn’t let Nobu off for like,,, weeks.
Mitsunari: He couldn’t really register your anger but he was still extremely impressed that you managed to remember so much information about everyone. He was totally flattered when you mentioned how good of a tactition was, but was undeniably surprised when you mentioned the battle of Sekigahara, where he fought against Ieyasu. Of course, he didn’t think too much of it and even when you told him that he died in that battle, he congratulated Ieyasu on his victory (cue a very embarrassed Yasu—). He was utterly clueless about the whole Side-Hoe-Ranmaru and Kichou being Nobunaga’s wife thing.
Ieyasu: He was starting to get really annoyed by your rambling until you mentioned his role in the history of Japan, which shocked him. You mentioned how he was not only the third unifier of the country after Toyotomi but also the first Tokugawa Shogun, and how he fought against Mitsunari in the battle of Sekigahara and won (he was secretly really proud about that, though, and also the fact that he overthrew the Toyotomi, but would never admit that either.) He was also pretty surprised that he was married to Hideyoshi’s half sister, which also sort of gave Hideyoshi a stroke. However, Yasu spat out his tea at Kichou being Nobunaga’s wife and his affairs with Ranmaru.
Mitsuhide: He was smirking the entire time you rambled on and on about your miserable history class experiences learning about Japanese history, and his smirk only grew wider when you told everyone about his reputation as Nobunaga’s best assassin. He obviously teasingly ignored the angry looks of suspicion Hideyoshi gave him when you mentioned the incident at Honnoji, where he had successfully killed Nobunaga by forcing him to commit seppuku. However, all the attention was off of him as soon as you brought up Nobunaga’s embarrassing relationships with both Kichou and Ranmaru, which Mitsuhide used to his own advantage by ruthlessly teasing Nobu.
Ranmaru: He stared in wonder as you explained all the details of every warlords’ life, but was very unpleasantly surprised by the information that you presented about him. He literally curled up into a ball for an hour out of humiliation, but after that traumatic experience was over, he just focused on the fact that he was at least Nobunaga’s favorite page.

Shimazu Tadatsune, Daimyo of Satsuma was born on this day,
November 27, 1576
One of the most affluent and powerful lords of the early Edo Period With a stipend of 605,000 koku, Shimazu Tadatsune was born in 1576, Tadatsune was named heir to the Shimazu (Also written as Shimadzu) clan just prior to the Battle of Sekigahara, where his father had fought on the losing side. His uncle, Yoshihisa, was first in line to succeed the head of the Shimazu clan, but at the time was heirless. His other uncle, Hisakazu had fallen ill and had died in Korea, and so Tadatsune was named successor. He took control in 1602, however, his father held the bulk of power until his death in 1619.
The Shimazu clan were respected for their prowess on the battlefield, and Tadatsune was also known for his bravery. During Hideyoshi’s Korean Campaign, he and his father headed an 8,000 samurai army, and drove off a Chinese Ming army of 100,000 soldiers.
In 1602, two years after the Battle of Sekigahara, Tadatsune formally submitted to Tokugawa Ieyasu as a sign of loyalty, and in doing so was awarded the name of Matsudaira Iehisa. This was seen as a great honor, as Matsudaira was Ieyasu’s original family name, and the Matsudaira were a branch of the Tokugawa clan. Tadatsune also accepted the first part of Ieyasu’s name in receiving Iehisa as a given name, an even greater honor.
Tadatsune worked hard to secure the Shimazu clan’s future. As head of the clan, Tadatsune also weeded out corruption and disloyalty among his retainers.
He had annexed the Ryukyu (Okinawan) Islands in mid 1609, but allowed them to remain semi independent so as to be able to trade with China, who believed the islands were still in their control. This kept the Shimazu clan economically strong, and important for Japans’ trade.
Tadatsune died April 7, 1638, aged 62

Dororo and Child Sacrifice–Ancient and Modern
Tumblr media
The story is rapidly coming to a climax in Dororo. Hyakkimaru realizes that slaying random demons no longer helps him regain powers and parts of his body, his brother Tahomaru has vowed to put an end to him, and his traveling companion Dororo has been kidnapped by Daigo’s retainers. The fight between Hyakkimaru and Tahomaru with his two bodyguards has to be the best in the series, but I can only expect the action to get better.
Tumblr media
The closest anime to which one may compare Dororo is Samurai Deeper Kyo. These both share a tale of a hero who wishes to regain his own body as others try to stop him. While Hyakkimaru’s body parts were stripped from him at infancy, Kyo’s soul was trapped in the body of his antagonist, and Kyo’s body was stripped from him at the Battle of Sekigahara. Kyo was considered far too destructive to be left as he was, and his opponents acted out of a desire to protect themselves.
Tumblr media
Vintage Kyo
Despite Kyo’s former destructive existence, no one ever tries to convince him that his quest to regain his own body is morally wrong. We see the opposite in Dororo: many persons make Hyakkimaru out to be a villain for wanting to regain his rightful property. (And what can we consider rightfully ours if not our own body and soul, i.e. that which we are?) The heads of the Daigo clan argue on consequentialist and utilitarian grounds that the sacrifice of Hyakkimaru’s body to demons was essential to the prosperity of their fief. Each demon Hyakkimaru slays brings Daigo closer to ruin, and he needs to be stopped.
Tumblr media
Yet, is the prosperity of Daigo actually a good thing?
Perhaps it is a bad thing, because it is based on an evil thing. A good deed requires a good intention, a good means, and a good end for it to be really good. When Hyakkimaru’s father sacrificed his own son for power and prosperity, we know that his intent and means were corrupt and that his end held a great deal of selfishness no matter how he tries to package it in the present. Tahomaru is a little different in that we can discern a good intention and a good end, but the means—fratricide and sustaining a diabolic pact—are still evil.
Tumblr media
If this be the only means for Daigo to prosper, the people of Daigo deserve to endure poverty, pestilence, famine, and war rather than to allow a single individual to be murdered. No country has the right to have prosperity through human sacrifice and Satanic pacts. Perhaps some excuse could be found if Hyakkimaru, like Demon Eyes Kyo, had been causing harm, but babies are by definition innocent. It was as an innocent baby that parts of Hyakkimaru’s humanity were stolen and he was left to die. Rather than Hyakkimaru owing anything to Daigo, that fief owes him restitution.
Tumblr media
Yet, child sacrifice for the sake of future prosperity is more ubiquitous than we care to think. At the state level, we know that child sacrifice was carried out by the ancient Aztec, Chimu, and Incan Empires. (The site of the largest child sacrifice in history lies near Trujillo, Peru, where the remains of 140 children were unearthed.) The cult of Moloch in Scripture is famous for inciting God’s wrath by their child sacrifices. On the individual level, child sacrifice has been carried out in prehistoric times and has reemerged in the last century.
Tumblr media
The ancients sacrificed their children to gods in the hope that the gods would increase their prosperity—the idea behind child sacrifice is that the more precious the sacrifice, the better its chance of the worshiper being heard. In modern times, the goal remains the same though the reasons are less superstitious. Parents who sacrifice their offspring hope to preserve their current or future prosperity by killing their children, whom they expect will be a huge drain on their time and resources. In a compassionate society like ours, it would be just as easy to offer the baby up for adoption as to the knife. But, the secular Zeitgeist prefers a bloody sacrifice over a bloodless one.
Tumblr media
There are a couple of factors which make Lord Daigo more evil than moderns: 1) full knowledge of him sacrificing his son for his own ambition, and 2) deliberately sacrificing to the forces of evil. Those guilty of child sacrifice in modern times don’t realize that there is a war between good and evil. Also, they have been subject to a long brainwashing campaign. Thus, people blithely compare a fetus to a tumor. Or, they say that it is a potential human life. Yet, is not even a “potential human life” invaluable? Has anyone ever seen cancer morph into a functional human being? The idea that one can dehumanize a person on the grounds of youth and helplessness is antithetical to reason and to charity.
Tumblr media
In Dororo, Hyakkimaru has the good fortune of being discovered by Dr. Jukai after he had been discarded. Jukai represents someone disgusted by the lack of humanity he finds in the world. This is particularly present in the Warring States period in which he exists, where samurai and brigands can murder on the slightest pretext and get away with it. Jukai recognizing the humanity of Hyakkimaru who appears inhuman is a rebuke to all of the inhuman samurai and brigands parading as human beings.
Tumblr media
Conseqentialist or utilitarian reasons cannot erase the penalty of sin from child sacrifice. One can’t build real morality on the end results alone. In real life, the reckoning for child sacrifice won’t come in the form of the sacrifice returning to claim his rights, as we see in Dororo. Yet, the perpetrator will have to repent or end by destroying his conscience and by suffering eternal destruction in hell. One can’t build a happy society or a happy life on human sacrifice. In Dororo, the people of Daigo will only obtain real happiness when the evil committed by their lord has been atoned. God is stronger than all hell, and we should expect good from the divine rather than from demons.
-----
Dororo can be streamed through Amazon Prime. Samurai Deeper Kyo is available for purchase on DVD through Amazon.

Kisekae Insights #14: Dealing with changing Doctors
Tumblr media
The main incarnation of the Doctor in my project is the Fifth Doctor, who is largely based on the BBC Eleventh and Twelfth Doctors. After Steven Moffat and Peter Capaldi announced that they were resigning from the series, I decided that it would be time to begin planning the endgame to my project. This also meant that I would not be adapting the BBC Thirteenth Doctor.
Since my project relied on the BBC episodes, I had to find ways to transition the Doctor into a different character without regenerating him. Take a look at how I got around the regeneration storylines for my project.
For context, the picture at the top is meant to show the Fifth Doctor’s appearance in the Moushouden Series, which is essentially Matt Smith’s face on Peter Capaldi’s costume. I remember someone posted something like this on Facebook years ago. Saving it never occurred to me and by the time I wanted to find it, it was either lost or deleted, so that’s why I decided to recreate it myself. I may not be an artist, but I know a thing or two about putting transparent PNGs on other backgrounds.
Eleventh to Twelfth
The Next Gen Series largely takes place between The Day of the Doctor and The Time of the Doctor, but without Clara. Clara was dropped off at home just after Hiroki and Akari’s wedding and she would not return until Series 10.
So how did I deal with The Time of the Doctor? The Siege of Trenzalore happened concurrently to the events of the Series 9 finale, which was a lot shorter than the 900 years as shown in the original episode.  Like in the original episode, the Daleks ended up being the only aliens fighting against the Doctor and the Silence; the downscaling of the timeline makes the other aliens look like absolute jokes. Hiroki would have interactions with the Doctor in between his involvement in the Battle of Sekigahara and the Ōsaka Campaign.
At the same time that Hiroki and his comrades are attacking Honnōji and Nijō Castle, the Daleks are unleashing an all-out attack on Trenzalore. A Dalek confronts the Doctor at the top of the clock tower and accidentally taps into his hatred for the Daleks after scanning him, leading the Dalek to begin exterminating some Daleks before being exterminated himself. Handles dies when a Dalek shoots him.
The Daleks only retreated from Trenzalore after Hiroki enters an Osterhagen Station some distance away from Honnōji. The Time Lords also close up the crack in the wall as well. The Doctor heads back to Earth as it is destroyed and restored by God in a literal deus ex machina. He goes back to Earth to find Hiroki and the story continues from there.
That was the first part of the transition which I did in 2014. The second part of the transition took place in 2017 with the first episode of Series 10, The Advent of the Doctor, which was partially inspired by Deep Breath. Clara rejoined the Doctor when she answered an ad in a newspaper (that was placed by Missy). When Hiroki and Akari were firing cannons at each other, the Doctor threw his coat in the way, causing it to be destroyed. His new costume debuts at the end of the episode.
The regeneration scene in the TARDIS did not go to waste as I used it in an alternate telling of Hiroki’s regeneration into his final incarnation. In the original version, I used the War Doctor’s regeneration to show Momoka’s regeneration into Hiroki, but in the alternate version, the regeneration reset Momoka into her previous incarnation before he went back home to say goodbye to Akari.
Twelfth to Thirteenth
This was a bit more complicated to plan out, but the execution is less complicated because unlike the last section, it doesn’t involve a lot of things happening at the same time. I also aimed to answer a question that was raised with The Name of the Doctor – if the history of the Siege of Trenzalore was changed, how could the Clara echoes have existed?
The background to this stems from the fact that the Fifth Doctor’s incarnation is the final one. With the Doctor being born from Hiroki, a pocket of regeneration energy remained in the latter, which he would use to regenerate into his various incarnations and prototypes (using up portions of that pocket in the process). When the First Doctor was forced to exile, he was forced to regenerate even though his subsequent incarnation was still considered the same as his previous one. Additionally, as stated in #2, timeline splits caused Doctor Whooves, the Pony Doctor and Jee Gun to be spawned from the Fourth Doctor’s regeneration into the Fifth. They were given a pocket of regeneration energy each, which would allow them to regenerate once (the Pony Doctor gave his to Doctor Whooves, so he could regenerate twice). As a result, the Doctor was only able to regenerate six times (including the War Doctor’s regeneration), though he had enough regeneration energy to spare, which he used to heal River Song’s hand and give strength to Antoni (who would attempt to steal it to give to the Daleks).
In order to set up the transition, we need to go back to the Series 11 (BBC Series 9) finale, Hell Bent. In that episode, the Doctor had Rassilon and the High Council banished from Gallifrey. They ended up on Earth in 2003 just in time to bear witness to the start of the Last Great Time War on Earth. While three members of the High Council stayed in Hong Kong to observe the Time War, Rassilon and the remaining members inserted themselves into higher positions at UNIT Central Control in Geneva. They ensured that the authorities would turn a blind eye to the chaos going on as a result of the Time War (because children fighting in wars is an issue in other countries but not in my project).
We then move to the third Space Squad movie, which takes place following the end of Gokaiger. In 2018, Rassilon became obsessed with getting his revenge on the Doctor for banishing him from Gallifrey and allied with Fūmakūdō, the villain group of the Space Squad movies (Fūmakūdō is the project’s counterpart of Genmaku and the name is derived from the villain groups of the three Space Sherriff series, namely Makuu, Madou and Fuuma). He goes to UNIT HQ and tells them that they are decommissioning the Superhero Project. At the same time, he has the Doctor’s TARDIS taken from the UNIT hangar (as he was on the GokaiGalleon for the duration of the series) before he brings it into the Makū Dimension.
Rassilon then uses the TARDIS’ Eye of Harmony to power up the Axis Converter, causing the console to explode and expose the heart of the TARDIS as the Makū Dimension expands throughout time and space, opening up portals everywhere. Later, Rassilon confronts the Doctor in Trenzalore. Before the Doctor can morph, however, Rassilon uses his gauntlet to freeze him in place before fast-forwarding time around him. The alien fleets attack Trenzalore and the TARDIS becomes the tombstone the Doctor saw when he first arrived on Trenzalore. Rassilon lets go of time and disappears.
The Doctor goes into his TARDIS and discovers that its history has been damaged along with the console. He decides to merge himself with the exposed heart of the TARDIS, causing the centre column to become a direct link into his timestream. At the same time, he also discovers that the TARDIS’ timestream has been split in two between himself and Hiroki, allowing Hiroki’s version of The Name of the Doctor to happen alongside the original version.
Being inside the heart of the TARDIS for too long is no better than looking into the Time Vortex. The Doctor plans to use his regenerative energy to repair the TARDIS and the timelines, but he is forced to stop when the events of the episode happen. The Great Intelligence damages the Doctor’s timeline, but Clara undoes the damage. When the past Doctor goes in to save Clara, the present Doctor uses his strength to maintain the stability of his timeline. The Doctor’s timeline has been fixed, but there is still a little damage that the Clara echoes forgot to fix, specifically around the start of his current incarnation’s life.
It is then that Ritsu Tainaka learns of her alternate self’s status in 1968 New York as an echo of herself. By the time everyone meets at the damaged TARDIS on Trenzalore, the Doctor’s past self has already left. She goes into the Doctor’s timestream and sends an echo of herself to patch the last of the damage. With his timeline repaired, the Doctor repairs the TARDIS and brings Ritsu out of the heart as they join with their comrades to defeat Rassilon for good.
Following the Monk invasion (which Australia managed to fend off for six months), UNIT summons the Doctor as they need the TARDIS to process the physical checkups of all Rangers and Riders. They discover that the Doctor is in his final incarnation and that he had built up a resistance to severe injury through fighting as GokaiRed. He passed on his powers to Kai following Rassilon’s defeat, meaning that he has now lost that resistance over the seventy years he spent guarding the Vault.
The events of the Series 12 (BBC Series 10) finale happened and the Doctor regenerated, but his appearance didn’t change. Upon crashing into the Barrier Base’s core (without damaging the Base itself), he is met by Hiroki, Akari and Brigadier Cheng Xieyun. The Doctor is taken to the sickbay, but when three generals from UNIT Central Control (namely the three members of the High Council) take over, they have the Doctor teleported to Geneva.
During a fight with the High Council, who were working with Madame Kovarian of the Silence, the Doctor is shocked by a group of Silents before being finished off by Kovarian. The Doctor is killed, but he comes back to life, now knowing what happened to him and why he didn’t change his appearance when he regenerated. When the Doctor merged himself with the TARDIS to repair it, it knew the Doctor had no regenerations left and so, gave him energy from the Time Vortex to repair both itself and the Doctor, but the full potential of his abilities wouldn’t be awakened until his regeneration, of which an extra one was gifted to him by the TARDIS.
As a result, the Doctor and his TARDIS are now one with each other. The Doctor is immortal as long as the TARDIS isn’t destroyed, although the same can’t really be said for the opposite because it would be too overkill. The chameleon circuit has been repaired so that the TARDIS can change its internal or external appearance at will. At the same time, the Doctor has also become a part of the chameleon circuit, meaning that he can also change appearance at will. However, the Doctor can decide to keep his and the TARDIS’ current appearances for the sake of familiarity.
Following this bout of exposition, the High Council are defeated and Madame Kovarian was taken to the Papal Mainframe, where she was tried for her crimes before Mother Superious Tasha Lem. The Doctor rejoins the Gokaigers and alternates between the TARDIS and GokaiGalleon. Technically, this new incarnation is known as the Infinity Doctor, but for all intents and purposes, he will continue to be known as the Fifth Doctor.
This has been my way of getting around the Doctor’s regeneration storylines for the sake of my project along with an alternate interpretation of what happened to the Doctor after Twice Upon a Time. Timeless Child, eat your heart out. I’d take this over that confusing storyline about the Doctor’s ascension and descension from absolute godhood.

Battle of Sekigahara on the Western Army side more like “KOSHOSHO HELP ME”, then Koshosho single-handedly defeating Naomasa Ii, Tadakatsu Honda and the mega combo of hundreds of officers that show up near the base. I should have seen it coming, I wouldn’t have used Kiyomasa Kato during most of the Visions of Hope campaign. >_<

So! I’m starting a thing!! Every Sunday from now on I’m gonna host my own OC Showcase!
Why? Because tumblr is full of people who miss out on the amazing creativity of a lot of people in the rp community, and I’m on a mission to try and change that; and hopefully spread a lot of smiles in the process! Plus it gives me a chance to overanylze the shit out of all your children ahem
Featuring this week  Hideaki Hanzō from @rxll-the-dxce
So! To start off with, wanna know something cool? Hideaki here was actually inspired by a real historical figure!  Hideaki Kobayakawa, to be exact - a Samurai who’s gone down in history as a traitor in the battle of Sekigahara. To make a long story short because we’re not here for a history lesson - this young commander defected the east out of pure fear after being involved in the massacres of an earlier campaigns with Korea.
The Hideaki I know, of course, isn’t an exact counterpart - but heck, that would be boring if he was.
Spouting out the entire bio of the I know Hideaki’s would be impossible ( linked under his name if you wanna check it out ), but I will give the cliff notes version:  Hideaki was born into a very decorated military family, whose sons and only daughter were all experts in their field and great soldiers. In contrast, though, Hideaki’s got a lot of chronic illnesses and an overall very frail body weighing him down. The result of this is a life of abuse, and a boy who would desperately try to prove himself through his life to bring honor to his family in the only way he can : with military strategist as the ultimate strategist. The treachery her would later preform out on the field, similar to his historic counterpart would be the first time he would hear an alter ego created by his own terror: The Ultimate traitor.
- Now I’m sorry for completely butchering what’s honestly a much more complicated and incredible story that Bekki has written out for this guy, but I needed to give at least a small introduction.
All this to say, though, I’ve been fascinated with Hideaki as a character from the first day I was introduced to him. It’s incredibly humanizing despite the terrible things he deals with- you can still related to the want to fit in, the fear of disapointment and the way she writes his fear is palpable. But she also avoids a lot of the traps I see writers of canon characters fall into when it comes to creating tragic backstories. Although Hideaki is incredibly shaped by his trauma, he still manages to stand on his own, and is far from a ‘perfect baby who never did anything wrong’ that I see a lot. Explaining why would...take about 5 more paragraphs and I don’t want to make this post too long.
tldr; I regret nothing about being biased about how much I love this kid. Follow. You won’t regret it.
