Sesshomaru Catching Feelings Headcanons

Anime/Manga: Inuyasha

Warnings : None

Context: You went back in time through the well and meet Sesshomaru after he’s already become a father figure to Rin.

Hope you enjoy some Sesshomaru love coming your way. 🌙

Sesshomaru doesn’t pay attention to humans often. Normally the only time he actually cares is when Rin is talking to him or when she is interacting with other humans.

He comes to check on Rin every three days in the village where she has been receiving lessons from Kagome and Kaede. However , this time a new woman was running around with the young child. The two were smiling and laughing while playing a game called “Tag” as the call it.

Sesshomaru was intrigued that a new woman had captured the attention of Rin , she wasn’t very open to strangers. He decided to watch you two from afar instead of ruining the game.

The next thing he noticed was your clothes and he had mild flashbacks to how Kagome was dressed while on her adventures with Inuyasha. He came to the conclusion that you must be from the same world as her.

He couldn’t keep the small smile from forming on his lips as he saw you pick up Rin and twirl her around. The sun was setting in the background , which just made him become more focused on your hair and it’s glow from the golden hour light, your nose and it crinkled slightly as you smiled. Why was he noticing all these irrelevant things about you ? He decided to stop thinking about it for now.

A few weeks went by , Sesshomaru comes every three days. However , now he is more eager. He somehow feels at ease whenever he’s in your presence, especially when he walks into the village and is greeted by your welcoming smile and ever so often a random flower you picked from the valley that day.

The first few times you had given him flowers he would refuse because he saw no meaning in things with such passing beauty. However now , he accepts them regularly and can’t help but feel attached to the small routine you have placed him in.

He started to notice your personality, how you would laugh at the littlest things that he in no way found humorous. How you would look out for Rin carefully and motherly. He especially noticed how you would treat others, you never judged by appearance and would treat everyone with kindness until they took advantage. However if they did take advantage of your kindness you would show them that you aren’t a welcome mat.

Sesshomaru started to realize how much he was thinking about you , how much more he wanted to learn about you. He could have swore he never cared this much about others , let alone humans. The inner turmoil has now started.

He would skip the next two meets with Rin to try and shut down the feelings he has for you. He does not want to start falling for you , nevertheless questions would shake his concentration throughout the day while he was protecting his lands.

“Im Lord Sesshomaru, I will not be like my father and take a human wife.” Was his chanting thoughts while trying to break his fixation on you.

However those pounding questions wouldn’t stop.

“Does she realize I haven’t been there ?” “Does she care that I haven’t seen her?” “What about those flowers , is she still picking them everyday for me ?” “I wonder if she gives them to everyone.”

Sesshomaru ends up going to see you the next day because before he pursues anything he wants to know if you treat him specially compared to others, basically he wants to be smart and figure it out before you tell him.

After a day or two of him spending time with you and feeling completely at peace and watching how you interact with others he decides that he will assert himself.

“(Y/N) , Rin will be leaving tomorrow with me.”

“Huh!? Wait - I thought you let Rin live here so she can interact with humans ?”

“You will do just fine as her human companion.”

“Are you asking me to come with you?”

“If your belongings aren’t ready to come by 7am I will leave without you. I don’t like tardiness.” -

“One more thing- (Y/N) if you leave with me tomorrow then you are becoming apart of my pack , no turning back , you are mine and only mine.”

“I’ll be ready at 7”

Rin from Inuyasha?

Oh man you are unlocking memories!

Rin, I love her so much. She is a really good character in my opinion and adding her into Sessohmarus group was probably a gold idea.

She is just herself, traveling with this white haired dude that saved her and keeps her save. She is just living her best life thatn ever before. While I think she does understand dangerous situations happening in my headcanon she is just. Meh. I lived thru worse. Like being shredded by wolfes.

- When Rin gets older I headcanon her to be actually a pretty good fighter who stands up to herself. She does look up to Sesshomaru and does what he does. She is proud of herself and will say what she thinks when getting older.

- When growing up she learns how to use a sword and will wear something similiar to Sesshomaru. She is like the bad b*tch rolling into town and slaying the evil demons that torment the villager

- When growing up she shows alot of „childish innocence“. Like she will question Sessohmaru or Jaken about alot of things. She also enjoys playing, picking flowers, just being a kid having fun. Something that the two Yokai probably rarely or maybe never experienced

- Rin will make them both lay in a grassfield looking into clouds. They probably take a rest and she tells some stuff and when asking Sesshoumaru if he wants to lay there too since it‘s nice and soft he will do so but only after a longer time. Jaken will never do what a humans asks him. Tho when seeing his master do so he joins in. Jaken will also fall asleep.

- Sesshoumaru is more of a father/big brother figure to her. I imagine with him being around her for a long time and watching her grow up gave him a small soft spot in his heart for her. He doesn‘t want any human guy around her and when someone thinks he needs to talk to this beautiful woman? Just a meanacing tall man standing behind her and staring him down. It‘s hard for him to let her go have a life on her own with a family ok?

It‘s a bit of time since I watched Inuyasha and I really need to do it again. My favorite anime. I don‘t ship them and I ihnore whatever sequel is happening there. The ‚headcanons‘ are all over the place age wiss and more rambles but hope you still liked them?
