Bestie Ghosted is such a joke lmao. The entire movie is a fucking parody and cannot be real. The way one of the locations is of Pakistan but it's not even filmed there, the set they created was of a market where they placed random Urdu words mixed with Arabic 💀 Like the entire set was so not Pakistan lol. The Pakistani people they had were looking Turkish lmao - NONE of them even looked Pakistani or knew how to speak proper Urdu. Like one glance and u can tell they just dressed white or mixed people up in traditional clothes and hijabs etc. Also, I have no idea why Hollywood is so desperate to push the image of a 'poor' Pakistan, when it's developed - like it's so obv they're showing that we basically have zero systems and services which is false asf??? like, we have restaurants here, we have malls, people, cinema etc. Also they literally act like Lahore and Islambad doesn't have the most rich people - literally they should've gone to Lahore dha and they'd find thousands of developed shit and expensive cars lol. It's so weird how people continue to push the narrative that we're poor and basically are so undeveloped. Like we aren't America obv but it's still developed 😭
ALSO, they literally had one scene where a man is driving a scooter and a woman is sitting in front of the scooter, so she's like facing him and it's a very pda and sexy kinda situation which made me burst out laughing because Pak is a conservative country (sometimes lol) and they think this is the norm in pak? That woman are just straight up climbing on top of scooters and sit like they about to have sex lmao😭. Not to mention they fucking drove in a tunnel and came out in pak???? No logic lol. The writers and producers literally should've done a much better research, it's literally so disappointing to see some pretty big names acting in such a ridiculously researched movie and insisting that it is good. But at least this time we aren't terrorists lol.
lmfaooo agree agree agree!!
bestie it’s laughable how these dumb movies portray countries like Pakistan! Or any south Asian country or Middle Eastern country!! Or any African country! Or even North American countries like Mexico! Like there is no research out into it whatsoever and it’s CRINGEY for these Hollywood actors like Chris praising this dumbass movie without even acknowledging how hard we roll our eyes at their dumb inaccuracies. It’s quite insulting but I’m used to it lmfao. It’s not like we could’ve expected better from this hallmark ass movie right? it’s times like this where I’m low-key happy the critics panned it bc these actors need to realise how laughably bad it’s getting atp

...I’ve had people engage with my race while dating. Not in a positive way, but in a way that fetishises me. There was a woman, (yes, you guessed right, she’s white), who I went on a couple of dates with and my friends and I still speak about her actions to this day. I came across her on Twitter and we started talking over DMs. She showed mild interest, but not as much as I did: remember, I was eager to prove my bisexuality with women and non-binary people, so would find myself engaging excessively on social media platforms. We eventually exchanged numbers and went out on a date. On the lead up to the date, I would receive a flurry of messages, showing interest but also a very specific interest. She talked a lot about Bollywood and well … Indian things. At one point, assuming she knows more than me, would tell me things about the Bollywood stars I grew up with. I assumed she was just dense, but my horniness took over and I went on the date. It was awkward: she controlled a significant part of the conversation and as it was my first proper date with a woman, I was nervous. The date ended and I felt strange. A few days later we were still talking over text, and she kept talking about India and I found myself sighing every time her name popped up on my phone.
I was on the bus, coming back from a meeting when I looked at my phone and saw a message saying:
‘I’m obsessed with Indians now. Watching these movies like “CAN I HAVE ONE?”’
I stopped moving. In fact, it felt like the bus had stopped in shock too. It felt like everyone on the bus took a sharp intake of breath and were staring at my phone.
‘CAN I HAVE ONE?’
Can I have one? My mind goes to takeaways, because I always give people the benefit of the doubt. She’s hungry for a takeaway? No, she wasn’t. She was hungry for an Indian person. The cannibal nature of her fetishisation is not an exaggeration – there’s a need to devour the culture, the people, the art. They consume it.
‘Indian people fucking love me. I will be in an item song. I WILL BE.’
Do Indian people fucking love you? Really? Because this Indian person is really regretting that date. For those who don’t know: an item song is a number in a Bollywood film, performed by a dancer/actor who isn’t cast as a main character but is just introduced for this song – and it is usually very seductive. Like a sexy cameo that no one needed. I guess that sums her up as well.
‘I FANCY ALL INDIANS. Hahahahahahaha!’
The laugh was deafening.
She talked about adopting an Indian accent, about learning how to speak and write in Hindi and then perform her stand up (yup, she’s a comedian). She talked about wearing Indian dresses like they were costumes and has since modelled for Pakistani TV. She would send me scribblings of her learning Hindi and ask me to translate certain words.
I’m Punjabi. I know Hindi from Bollywood. Also, I can barely write in English, I can’t decipher what you’re writing, woman. Eventually, I stopped replying more and more. It took longer than it should have because my heart was broken over the idea that my first proper date with a woman went down like this. What were the chances. I was so adamant that men were the worst and then I was reminded that white women are not far behind them. She was not at all interested in me, my personality, my work, my looks, my desires … she was interested in the fact that I’m Indian. She didn’t care that I had a magazine that works with creative and young people. She didn’t care that I wanted to talk about systematic oppression. She definitely didn’t care about any of my stories. She didn’t even really want to be with me in any sense of the word.
She wanted to use me to learn how to be more Indian. This white woman. Turns out she was known in the comedy circuit for being problematic and my friends who were actual good comedians filled me in. I’ve been fetishised by men before, but that’s kind of expected. I have very little expectation from them, so I wouldn’t be surprised. But when it came from the first woman I went on a proper date with, it sent me down a hole of uncertainty. I wasn’t sure whether I was able to survive the dating world as a bisexual person, because men suck and now, I had this awful experience. So, what now?
Through time and speaking to others, I developed confidence back in myself, but it has still stuck with me. Now when someone says ‘I’d like to watch a Bollywood film with you’, after I’ve told them I’ve spent the whole day dancing to Bollywood songs, instead of saying ‘sure!’, my mind thinks ‘okay but why though’. And I scrutinise actions. I rarely give the benefit of the doubt. I often overanalyse.

The Crown S5E7 Commentary
Non Spoiler Gist: Brilliant brilliant Diana centric episode - I loved every single minute of it! It was also interwoven well with Bashir prepping and manipulating Di into the interview, Diana’s romance with Dr. Hasnat Khan and a secondary  C-plot of Lizzie having lunches with William and Margot.
Spoilers Under The Cut:
The Bashir Interview episode Let's gooo
We love a Diana-centric episode Gosh she sounds so much like her I'm getting emotional I just love her so much??? This monologue on being separated is on point
Oooh we're getting Tween William this should be interesting Is that Dominic's actual son?? Nepotism at it's finest I wonder what he thinks of his dad's irl cheating and if he finds him being Charles as ironically meta as I do
Awww Harry my babeyyyy
Also gosh the press really were everywhere and invading every aspect of their lives huh This is so taunting he's like a spectacle Not them fighting at his school too LMAO THE SPITE HUG YES SHOW HIM THE LOVE DIANA
Bashir is KNEE deep in his research era huh Honestly all the scenes of him so far is just me being old enough to love Diana on my own and just watch every available clip and read every article on her. I was in the trenches with my Diana phase as a tween
Why does the actor look like this Tamil actor I know I'm shook they look very similar and like they could be related Okay I googled him no they do not only in this get up for some reason hsjjsjs Damnnn he's an ambitious one isn't he What are they doing with these bank statements???
Holy fuck the Earl Spencer's casting is EERIE they look THE SAME
What the fuckkkk I knew how he got the interview was unethical BUT NOT THIS UNETHICAL This is so shady omg omg This man I swear to God like he didn't waver ONCE
Lmao Diana saw this man ONCE and is a goner for him. She's just staring hshahh I really thought we'd get her and Dodi around this time but Hasnat Khan is pretty cute too I'll give her that She's adorable omggg
DIANA YOUR FRIEND'S HUSBAND MIGHT BE DYING AND YOU'RE THIRSTING OVER A MAN I cannot this is too funny pls Diana babes please read the room
Not William being short with his mother Goddd her phones being tapped is so scary
Oh dear god not the guys trying to take a pic of her WHAT THE FUCK WHAT THE FUCK HER BRAKES AREN'T WORKING What the fuckkkkk I had a heart attack that was terrifying
Lmaoo this interaction with the Spencers - PEAK siblings Her paranoia was really preyed upon huh Poor her Patrick would notttt Bashir is lyinggg This is so painful to watch Danggg the way Elizabeth's face went red so fast damn girl she turned it ON
Oooh Willy is having lunch with Lizzie this ought to be fun Damn this boy has got the voice down we love to see it I really like their dynamic it's really sweet and kinda humanises them for me despite my issues with the two of them
NOT CHARLIES STILL TALKING ABOUT GORDONSTOUN The trauma is real yall
Awwee Diana in the hospital I love her so much she was really the sweetest soul wasn't she Lmaooo Di's like Oh??? My crush has noticed mee!!! She's so into him this is so cute I'm so invested in this sldhddjd
Ohmygod she called him sexy hskdjsk Dianaaaa A HUSBAND I LOVE HER BEING FLIRTY This Diana is SUCH A VIBEEEE "I'm constitutionally single" Lmaoo I'm using that They are ADORABLE why did it end 😭😭
Boooo Bashir leave her aloneee Holy shit mans is really laying it thick and telling her everything she wants to hear
Not Oprah being name dropped as an alternate for an interviewer Imagine if she had gotten the Di interview and also the H&M one - that would have been a TRIP
Damnnn the duality of the two Pakistani men in her life during this time. It's a very interesting parallel to see. One manipulating and exploiting her and the other offering her safety, privacy and kindness
Lmaooo Bashir did not say "I think she has a thing for me" Okay but thank god he didn't mean it like That That 1991 tour meant a lot to her didn't it? Lowkey wish we saw it instead of the Russian ep  We all have that special country away from home we fell in love with so I get it. I'm just glad they didn't make it out to be a exotic country or fetishise it in her eyes
Ohmygod she looks like Sophie Turner in that getup I got shook AWWE THEY'RE HOLDING HANDS I LOVE THEM OHMYGOD WHAT IS THIS FOREPLAY Their flirting is on point He keeps asking for consent it's so sexy
DR KHAN NO HSJDJJSJ Girlie was trying to be deep about her broken, neglected heart and this man goes "No your heart is fine. Quite a strong pulse actually." God he's SO endearing GJSHSJC DIANA I SWEAR She's sooo into him Bro she likes youuu and you like herr She did not call him a frog I'm screaming djdkdkd
Jesus Christ Lizzie we get it stop name calling and just say her name Yall are awful
Jesus Bashir are you trying to isolate her from EVERYONE Mans really using his mother tongue to his advantage I do sympathise with his struggles as an MOC in a very white industry  Gosh this is all so complex Like yeah he was REAL shady about it but he also did let her feel understood and allowed her that platform to lay it all on the line
"You can trust me" K Bashir K 🤡🤡
Oh dip this isn't the actual interview ep. Aights gonna take a short break before I watch the next one!

Best Romantic Movies on Amazon Prime Right Now
https://ift.tt/3pc4e7e
Some movies brave enough to tread where only pop songs and poems go, and try to capture all the drama, contradictions and happy, bubbly feelings that come along with romance and love. It’s high-time that we honor them and defend them against their unearned sappy reputations with the best romantic movies on Amazon Prime.
We’ve scoured Amazon Prime to find the best romantic movies available for your viewing pleasure. Here are the best romantic movies on Amazon Prime. Ok, some of them are perfectly sappy.
The Big Sick
Kumail Nanjiani and his wife Emily Gordon’s theatrical debut made big waves when it came out for the singularity of its vision and just how plain funny it is. Now Amazon gets to reap the benefits of producing a bonafide romantic indie hit by getting its exclusive streaming rights. The Big Sick is the real life story of comedian Kumail Nanjiani meeting and falling in love with his wife, Emily (who is played by Zoe Kazan in the film).
Kumail and Emily’s courtship process is difficult enough to begin with due to Kumail’s family pressuring him to find a nice Pakistani girl to settle down with. But soon things get even more difficult as Emily suffers a health scare and Kumail must suddenly contend with that situation and Emily’s eccentric parents who have just come to town. The Big Sick is a clear vision from talented people and tells a beautifully convincing love story while making plenty of room for laughter. Not only that but it’s a big win for our list of best romance movies on Amazon Prime.
Watch The Big Sick
What If
Canadian drama What If (originally known as The F Word before the MPAA got its greasy fingers all over it) is a fun romantic movie and a tremendous showcase for its two young stars Daniel Radcliffe (you know what he’s from) and Zoe Kazan (The Big Sick). Radcliffe stars as Wallace – a directionless young man living in Toronto who decides to become more social after his girlfriend cheats on him.
Enter Kylo Ren (Adam Driver playing a character who is unfortunately not named Kylo Ren) who takes Wallace to a party where he meets the alluring Chantry (Kazan). Wallace and Chantry immediately fall for each other. Unfortunately there’s the small matter of Chantry’s boyfriend. What If? is a sweet little Canadian flick that knows how to push its audiences romantic buttons.
Watch What If
Still Mine
Still Mine isn’t necessarily about romance. It’s about love – a deep prevailing love built up over decades. Craig Morrison (James Cromwell) is a farmer in rural New Brunswick, Canada. He intends to build a new house for his ailing wife Irene (Geneviève Bujold) but runs into trouble with the local municipality’s bureaucracy prevents him from doing so.
Still Mine is as romantic a movie about bureacratic development regulations as has ever existed. Cromwell and Bujold have wonderful chemistry and paint a portrait of profound, abiding love.

Some Kind of Wonderful
Some Kind of Wonderful doesn’t have the same pop culture standing as other John Huges films like Sixteen Candles or Pretty in Pink. Still this remains a worthwhile entry into the Hughes canon on teenage love.

Keith Nelson (Eric Stoltz) is a high school outcast who has his eyes set on popular girl Amanda Jones (Lea Thompson). Thankfully he has his tomboyish Watts (Mary Stuart Masterson) to help court her. Based on that meager plot description, you may think you know where Some Kind of Wonderful is going to end up, and…you’re probably right. That doesn’t make the journey any less satisfying.

To Catch a Thief
You know who would make a great romance film? The guy who did Psycho. Yes To Catch a Thief is a classic romance film from none other than Alfred Hitchcock. Of course, there’s a lot more going on in this heist thriller.
Cary Grant stars as retired cat burglar John Robie. When another burglar starts copying his act, Robie has to undergo One Last Job (TM) to catch…a thief. In the process John comes across the wealthy Frances (Grace Kelly) and the two strike up an unlikely romance for the ages.

Hello, My Name is Doris
Between TBS’ Search Party and Hello, My Name is Doris, director Michael Showalter had a stellar 2016. Hello, My Name is Doris is a wonderfully sweet, equally tragic and completely hilarious romantic comedy. Sally Field stars as the titular Doris, a lively woman in her 60s who after the death of her mother becomes infatuated with a younger man.

Sabrina (1995)
Let’s get one thing out of the way right now. Sabrina‘s theatrical poster is dope. When I was a kid and I would pass the VHS cover in Blockbuster, I couldn’t help but think “Wow, that is a real adult movie.” At a young age, the mere sight of a woman’s lascivious red lipstick (lascivious in my head at least) was enough to fry my brain. Poster aside, however, Sabrina is an excellent romance with some real star power. It’s a remake of the 1954 film of the same name starring Billy Wilder and Audrey Hepburn.
This version was directed by the great Sydney Pollack and stars Harrison Ford, Greg Kinnear, and Julia Ormond. Weirdly enough Greg Kinnear plays the ultimate rich playboy while Harrison Ford plays his studious older brother. Weird casting choices but it works out alright thanks to each actor’s chemistry with Ormond.
Watch Sabrina
Ghost
Ghost is much more than just the reason you can no longer attend a pottery class without giggling. It’s a legitimately great sci-fi romance yarn. Patrick Swayze stars as Sam a banker who is killed by a mugger. Immediately post-death he discovers that he has become a ghost and can no longer directly interact with his girlfriend Molly (Demi Moore).
Sam sets out to solve his own murder and somehow reconnect with the woman he loves. Ghostcomes along with all the corniness of an early ’90s blockbuster but its central theme of love trying to achieve the impossible plays in any decade.

Brokeback Mountain
Longing is a crucial part of the formula in any romance movie and Brokeback Mountain has it in spades. Ang Lee’s 2005 film played a crucial role in bringing queer cinema to the mainstream and it did so by presenting mostly straight audiences with a universal depiction of love and passion – the kind of love that supersedes the norms and expectations of everything in your life to that point.
Heath Ledger and Jake Gylllenhaal star as 1960s Wyoming cowboys Ennis Del Mar and Jack Twist. While herding sheep on the Brokeback mountains, Jack makes a sexual pass at Ennis and the two begin a summer-long physical affair. The movie then follows the pair through the subsequent decades as they try to return to their “normal” lives, all the while unable to forget their time on Brokeback.

Letter to Juliet
Somewhere along the way, Hollywood decided to let Amanda Seyfried become the queen of romantic comedies set in exotic locales…and that’s perfectly fine with us.
In Letters to Juliet, Seyfried stars as a New York fact checker Sophie on “pre-honeymoon” with her fiancé in Verona. There she learns of the phenomenon of “letters to Juliet” where women women bring love letters to Juliet Montague’s Verona courtyard. When Sophie answers a letter from 1957, she embarks on a decades-spanning journey of love and self-discover.y

What Men Want
Back in 2000, only one film had the distinction…nay, the courage of trying to figure out What Women Want. The answer, apparently, was Mel Gibson. We don’t talk about this movie that much.

2019’s What Men Want is a loose remake of the earlier film. And it has something that the original never did: Taraji P. Henson! Henson stars as Ali Davis, a sports agent who gains the ability to read men’s minds after meeting a shaman. The movie puts Ali’s male-dominated profession to good use and in the process tells a nifty little romance story.

There’s Something About Mary
More than two decades later, it’s still wild to see that above screenshot. Like, that ran in newspapers. It was on a poster! And if you don’t know why a photo of Cameron Diaz with a unique hairstyle is a big deal then you’ve likely not seen the Farrelly Brothers 1998 gross out classic There’s Something About Mary.
This is not so much a romance movie as it is an exploration of the pitfalls of attraction. Diaz stars as Mary Jensen…and there’s just something about her. Ben Stiller, Matt Dillon, Lee Evans, and Chris Elliott all play men who are helplessly in love with Mary and trying to win her affection. In the process, many injuries as sustained.

Moulin Rouge!
If you like your romance with more than a dash of Baz Luhrmann saturated colors and big, sexy musical numbers then Moulin Rouge! is almost certainly the movie for you.
This 2001 film is set in 1900s Paris amid the Bohemian movement. When Christian (Ewan McGregor) falls in love with Moulin Rouge cabaret actress and courtesan Satine (Nicole Kidman), he must contend with her impending betrothal (or really sale) to the Duke of Montrose. As one might imagine, this is resolved with quite a bit of singing and dancing.

Sylvie’s Love
Amazon Prime’s 2020 film Sylvie’s Love positively oozes jazz era atmosphere and tells a compelling, decades-spanning love story in the process.
Tessa Thompson stars as Sylvie Parker, a young woman who one day meets an aspiring saxophonist (played by Kerry Washington’s husband and former NFLer Nnamdi Asomugha) and in her father’s record shop in 1950s Harlem. This leads to sweeping romance that guides the pair through the era’s jazz music scene.

Drop-dead sexy restauranteur and infamous playboy Parker Maxwell has only three rules for the women he dates: no questions about his past, no expectations for the future, and no spending the night. When he meets Victoria, however, he’s willing to break his own rules if it means sating the explosive desire she arouses in him. What he doesn’t know is that the alluring Victoria Price used to be the mousy Isabel Diaz, the girl he deflowered and dumped long ago. Presented with a perfect opportunity for revenge, Victoria decides the game is on. But when her connection with Parker proves more than just skin deep, she has to make a choice: continue with her plan for payback, or risk her career, her reputation, and her heart by taking a second chance on love?

Genres: Retellings, Romance, Contemporary, Adult
Synopsis:
In this one-of-a-kind retelling of Pride and Prejudice set in modern-day Pakistan, Alys Binat has sworn never to marry--until an encounter with one Mr. Darsee at a wedding makes her reconsider.
A scandal and vicious rumor concerning the Binat family have destroyed their fortune and prospects for desirable marriages, but Alys, the second and most practical of the five Binat daughters, has found happiness teaching English literature to schoolgirls. Knowing that many of her students won't make it to graduation before dropping out to marry and have children, Alys teaches them about Jane Austen and her other literary heroes and hopes to inspire the girls to dream of more.
When an invitation arrives to the biggest wedding their small town has seen in years, Mrs. Binat, certain that their luck is about to change, excitedly sets to work preparing her daughters to fish for rich, eligible bachelors. On the first night of the festivities, Alys's lovely older sister, Jena, catches the eye of Fahad "Bungles" Bingla, the wildly successful—and single—entrepreneur. But Bungles's friend Valentine Darsee is clearly unimpressed by the Binat family. Alys accidentally overhears his unflattering assessment of her and quickly dismisses him and his snobbish ways. As the days of lavish wedding parties unfold, the Binats wait breathlessly to see if Jena will land a proposal—and Alys begins to realize that Darsee's brusque manner may be hiding a very different man from the one she saw at first glance.
Told with wry wit and colorful prose, Unmarriageable is a charming update on Jane Austen's beloved novel and an exhilarating exploration of love, marriage, class, and sisterhood.

Venom Non Spoiler review
saw venom last night, as someone who was initially skeptical about a Spidey less venom movie, i think it turned out very well, definitely not bad like some of the critics made out prior to its release, without going into spoiler territory i’ll go by topic Important to note aswell there is a scene with intense flashing lights (the lab entry scene) that might give people seizures, if you have them or know someone who does please let them know before they see it  Venom: His design really worked, i loved how massive and physically imposing he looked after the more slender version that appeared in spiderman 3, he was huge, intimidating without being oversized and ridiculous, i loved the way he moved like an animal, leaping and jumping all over the place, not gonna lie his voice was sexy, like really, it just worked, definitely fit the design without the reverb they used for the animated series. I loved his relationship with eddie and how u get bits of his personality and its not just a monster movie Eddie Brock: Again tom hardy did an excellent job as eddie, as a reporter he was brash, a little cocky and stubborn, a good heart but not perfect which meshed well when he bonds with venom. He really played up the whole crazy/restless almost addict like behavior. I thought he had great chemistry with Michelle Williams and well.... himself because he talks to venom alot and it works. Calton Drake: riz ahmed was really good as Calton Drake, a bit of a cliched antagonist but it worked for the story, he had good chemistry with tom and he could switch it on and off when necessary, it’s so good to see hollywood having more diversity with roles as he is a British Pakistani actor, really would like to see him in more movies Jenny Slate is also so beautiful and i have a huge crush on her. The Humor: As you would expect there is a bit of light hearted moments in the movie, was not expecting venom to swear but it never felt forced or edge lord levels it felt natural and fitted the moment and other humorous moments broke up the seriousness which was appreciated cause movies can always be fun and serious
So for what it’s worth, as a venom movie it really works and i really recommend it. As always don’t listen to the critics, make up your own mind and enjoy this movie for what it is, a cool character getting proper treatment on the big screen after his last appearance on screen left a bit to be desired, really hoping this does enough business for a sequel because i really liked the cast and the story they told and where it could go if they branch out to the mcu too

Mehwish Hayat wants to be judged on talent not physical attributes
Pakistan’s prominent actor Mehwish Hayat, who recently made it to this year’s list of Sexiest Asian Women alongside Mahira Khan, doesn’t think of the list as an achievement.
The list was published by a UK-based weekly Eastern Eye and only two Pakistani actresses featured on it.
Taking to Twitter, the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz recipient shared that the list is not something for her to celebrate.
“I’ve been receiving a lot of congratulatory messages via texts & social media. I should be flattered to be on the list of sexiest Asians,” she wrote.
I’ve been receiving a lot of congratulatory messages via texts & social media. I should be flattered to be on the list of sexiest Asians & to be honest ten years ago when I was the 1st Pakistani to make it onto the list I was. "Sexy” is defined as “sexually attractive or … 1/2 https://t.co/CKYX46U51C

She went onto add that in today’s world she wants to be judged on talent, not physical attributes.
“Judge people on talent, on merit, on intellect, on wit.. but not on physical attributes. Times have changed and these sorts of lists should now be confined to history,” she tweeted.
… alluring". How can potential "shagability" – and that is what it is- be a criteria for comparison?! Judge people on talent, on merit, on intellect, on wit.. but not on physical attributes . Times have changed and these sort of lists should now be confined to history!

The Punjab Nahi Jaungi actor was praised by fans for her positive thinking. A Twitter user even commented “A small step for feminism but a giant leap towards Premiership! #MehwishHayat2023.”
To this, Mehwish Hayat replied, “Not 2023 but 2028,” adding a LOL (Laugh out Loud).
