I wish the stardew valley community would stop labeling Shane as an "I can fix him" character cause he's literally not. You, as the player, do very little in Shane's recovery. You talk him down at the cliff, and that's it. Shane is the one who decides he wants to get better. All you do is be his support system through his recovery and be there for him as his friend.

ConcernedApe did NOT add that 14 heart event where you find out Shane's just been drinking Joja Cola and playing arcade games at the saloon for people to still accuse Shane of not actually going through any growth or recovery wrt to his alcoholism.

I know most of these players don't bother playing through Shane's story (or romancing him to get to those 14 heart events) anyways, but if you're going to hyper-analyze every in-game behavior (which is wild, considering NO character's schedule or behavior changes when you reach a certain friendship level with them) then at least also check the wiki first.
