sheldon & me! michigan's upper peninsula, autumn 2020. ❤︎

what i would do if i was a gilmore girls writer:
april storyline:
i feel like instead of the april storyline liz could have given birth a bit earlier and and luke and lorelai would have to step in to help raise doula a lot. first of all we’d get to see them with a baby, which is cute. but there’s also a lot of room for conflict in deciding how to handle the situation. aka conflict that makes for good TV (”should we even have kids together if we can’t even do this?”, ”we have to make these decisions together, we’re getting married!” etc.) but isn’t life altering enough to ruin the couple. it also draws parallells to the jess storyline (which was a huge part of the earlier seasons), luke’s established family issues and his earlier disagreements with lorelai which makes luke’s character arc and the show as a whole more cohesive and satisfying. i could see this drama lasting for all of season 6. in the end because these characters have grown, they would actually figure it out somehow. and then they’d have season 7 to settle down and be happy. i actually do love april but they could have made her a young sheldon type of guest character at yale and paris could have developed a soft spot for her or something.
literati in season 3:
so i feel like they wanted to show us that this is rory’s bad boy phase. they made their relationship about dean a lot and most of the episodes centered around them were like ooooh jess did this sucky thing and dean never would have. and i get that maybe they needed to try something new and didn’t want to just recreate the boyfriend storyline with a new guy (aka see how he fits into her grandparents world, saying i love you for the first time etc). they already did the good stuff with dean so they decided to make this rory’s bad decision and only came up conflict to show us. but they didn’t even fully commit bc rory didn’t change with jess the way she did with logan. that was her bad boy phase, literati was always supposed to be something more. so instead of showing how bad of a couple this was compared to dean/rory, they could have drawn different parallels. because dean/rory was not a perfect relationship and they could have shown how in some ways why this is better for rory. what does she want? not her grandparents and not her mom. after all the buildup literati was the audience’s favorite and most anticipated couple, so i really think painting it as an unexpected but positive change of direction in rory’s journey would have been worthwhile.
like show us how when they go on dates they want to do the same things (as opposed to donna reed or rory just watching dean’s games). show us how they both want their alone time and them not calling each other every day because rory wants to study and jess has to work can be an OK thing (as opposed to the infamous 14 calls a day). show us how jess maybe doesn’t fit into lorelai and rory’s flow as well as dean did BUT how that’s also ok because rory is getting older and going off to college so this makes sense. but then also show us some god damn character development and lorelai and jess actually learning to get along (pls make that an entire episode’s storyline actually. have them be funny together and make it emotional). and show us nice scenes with luke, lorelai, rory and jess. where was all of this when they were dating??? nowhere to be seen. although i would have liked for luke not to kick jess out (i will make another post of how i would handle jess and luke’s relationship in season 3) i know it had to happen because milo had to leave. and i wouldn’t change major plot points like that because i like jess’ arc too much. but if they had shown everything i wrote here, literati’s realtionship would have canonically been stronger and jess would have at least told rory about not graduating and his dad showing up and why he felt like he had to go before he went.
dean cheating on lindsay with rory:
actually i would have had lindsay push him in the lake luke pushed jess in but oops plot twist, dean can’t swim

Hello! I wanted to do another Thor Headcanon! I hope you like it! (La versión en español está en esta misma publicación!) @st4gg3r-mc-j4gg3r
_________________________________________
Thor Odinson Headcanon!
⛈ If you decide to swim on the outskirts like in a forest, he will be there taking care of your privacy, he would literally be watching that no one, NO ONE comes close to where you are, he would go around the lake where you are to ensure your safety and privacy
⛈Once you mentioned that he looked like a bear (in a good way obviously) and he stayed silent for a few seconds and without really knowing what to respond he said "and-and you look like a dwarf", he wasn't used to saying such praise like that, he took it for granted at first. insult but then he began to understand that it was not that way
⛈In terms of jealousy, if he ever gets jealous, he will just mumble or make a "ñiñiñiñiñi" in his mind every time that person speaks, I think he wouldn't do anything, he would just make fun of that person internally, but if he gets one step higher Surely he will begin to want to appear imposing. (He Is my pookie 😭)
⛈He will always try to remember special dates for you or for both of you, he would have in a notebook (which he has hidden) written down each date that he thinks is important for you and when that date falls he will let you know and he will try to make sure that that day you and he has a good time
⛈Any person that he feels is suspicious or dangerous will try to keep you from coming within 2 meters, he would keep you away from that person as much as possible or he would just put you behind him but he would never say that it is because he thinks that person is a danger.
⛈He hates fights and will always hate them. If you fight for some reason, he will try to get you to excuse him in any way, whether with gifts, letters, etc. He doesn't want you to see him as a bad person. He will always be the one to fight. He wants to apologize first (please give him love 😭)
_________________________________________
¡Hola! ¡Quería hacer otro Thor Headcanon! ¡Espero que te guste!
Thor Odinson Headcanon!

baby duck things
along with a couple of photos i thought went along nicely with the au
- jamie let’s duck paint his nails all sorts of colors, especially bright colors
- trevor gets a tattoo of one of kinsley’s drawings. it was kind of a big picture so he gets it on the side of his abdomen.
- someone on mama duck’s side tried to take kinsley away from jamie. in fact there was a small portion of time that she was taken away, but he did get his daughter back. and he doesn’t take any day with her for granted.
- little duck likes frozen grapes, she calls them ice cream
- jamie tried to keep kinsley secret for as long as he could, only family and close friends knew about her. it was only when trevor accidentally posted a picture of her online that the world found out about her.
- once when she was swimming in a lake someone told her that fish poop in the water. she screamed and threw up in the body of water. so now she will only swim in pools. but she still loves the sand at the beach and constantly asks to go.
- kinsley’s first word was dada. it was most likely just a string of sounds she put together. but jamie was so proud of her.
“da da da” baby duck giggled clapping her pudgy little hands at her father.
“that’s right baby ducky. dada.” jamie smiled with pride picking up his little girl and giving her a little kiss on the cheek. “now can you say it again? dada?”
- her next word was definitely mama and it was aimed towards trevor, much to his chagrin.
“mama!” duck squealed tugging on trevor’s hair
“no no no. can you say trevor? or maybe z? anything but that!” trevor pleaded with the small child.
“z, don’t confuse her. you are now mama.” jamie laughed along.
- duck had a phase where she called trevor idiot after she overhead jamie call him that.
- one time jamie lost kinsley at the park and ran around frantic that he couldn’t find her. he was so close to reporting her missing since it was like 45 mins before he found her.
- there was also a phase where she tended to bite people, mainly trevor. it was mainly done when she got really excited about something. occasionally she would bite someone when they made her mad or when she wanted to get away from someone.
- kinsley has a whole zoo of stuffed animals. they bring her back one after almost every roadie. her favorites include: sheldon the schrimp (from trevor), banana duck, and larry the lobster.
- many tears were shed when trevor left for the summer. duck was so confused why her second favorite person wasn’t there anymore. for a while trevor had to send daily videos. most times they were just him saying hi or they would include the people he was with.
- jamie tried to get her to play hockey, but she preferred to watch versus play. jamie still urged her to find an activity she enjoyed. duck discovered figure skating, she liked the pretty outfits they wore.

Restoration performed by UCLA Film & Television Archive.
Program notes follow.
FRIDAY, JANUARY 19:
7:30
World Premiere FNF Restoration!
NEVER OPEN THAT DOOR | NO ABRAS NUNCA ESA PUERTA
Argentina, 1952. Estudios San Miguel. 85 minutes
Screenplay by Alejandro Casona, from two short stories by Cornell Woolrich (William Irish)
Produced and directed by Carlos Hugo Christensen
More noir films have been based on the stories of Cornell Woolrich than any other writer, and NOIR CITY is proud to present this brand-new restoration of one of the best of those adaptations. In “Someone’s on the Phone,” Ángel Magaña plays a man bent on avenging the death of his sister, driven to suicide by gambling debts. In “The Hummingbird Comes Home,” Roberto Escalada portrays a racketeer who brings the gang to his boyhood home to lay low after a robbery. His blind madre doesn’t approve. Originally a three-part anthology of Woolrich tales, Never Open That Door was released separately from the 73-minute If I Should Die Before I Wake, also adapted by Casona and Christensen. Benefitting from the incredible cinematography of Pablo Tabernero, this is one of the most evocative realizations of Woolrich ever produced, featuring masterful sequences of sustained suspense. Said Buenos Aires film critic Horacio Bernades, “Rarely has an Argentine film been more purely cinematic than this.”
CAST: Someone on the Phone: Ángel Magaña (Raúl), Renée Dumas (Luisa), Diana de Córdoba (Nelly), Nicolás Fregues (money lender), Pedro Fiorito, Orestes Soriani, Percival Murray, Rosa Martín , Arnoldo Chamot. The Hummingbird Comes Home: Roberto Escalada (Daniel), Ilde Pirovano (the mother), Norma Giménez (María), Luis Otero (Juan)

STREET OF CHANCE
Tumblr media
United States, 1942. Paramount [Universal]. 74 minutes
Screenplay by Garrett Fort, based on the novel The Black Curtain by Cornell Woolrich
Produced by Burt Kelly. Directed by Jack Hively
The first case of amnesia in the film noir era comes with a typically intriguing Woolrichian twist. Frank Thompson survives a near fatal accident only to have the shock partially restore his memory! He realizes he’s lived the past several years as someone other than his true self. With the help of his incredulous girlfriend Ruth, Frank embarks on a nocturnal quest to determine his true identity. This modest offering from the B-unit at Paramount benefits from some A-list contributors, principally stars Burgess Meredith and Claire Trevor, and director of photography Theodor Sparkuhl, whose contributions to the look of early ’40s noir have gone largely unheralded. A wonderful gallery of supporting characters skitter and sneak through Frank’s waking nightmare, well rendered by journeyman director Jack Hively who had previously helmed many entries in RKO’s mystery series The Saint.
CAST: Burgess Meredith (Frank Thompson), Claire Trevor (Ruth Dillon), Louise Platt (Virginia Thompson), Sheldon Leonard (Joe Marucci), Frieda Inescort (Alma Diedrich), Jerome Cowan (Bill Diedrich), Adeline deWalt Reynolds (Grandma Diedrich), Arthur Loft (Sheriff Stebbins), Clancy Cooper (Burke), Ann Doran (Miss Peabody), Paul Phillips

a personal reflection on decolonization
riel s. | 2022
Tansii kiiya (hello, how are you?) my name is riel starr and I am a Red River Michif artist and academic. my history on his land begins thousands of years ago among the peoples of the great plains, and my written history begins in the late 1600s with my first French ancestors and their unnamed first nations wives. my first First Nations ancestor is an unnamed woman referred to in my grandmother’s family tree as “Cree Woman”. I am Red River Métis on my mother’s side. Our historic Métis family names are Berthelet, Caron, St. Germaine, Dazé, Larivière and Dubois, and we come from the communities of Point à Grouette (now called St. Agathe), St. Norbert, and St. Vital (now modern-day Winnipeg) as well as the historic Batoche, Saskatchewan. My Berthelet ancestors were notable community leaders in Pointe à Grouette and my Caron ancestors including my fifth great uncle jean caron sr. fought in the North West resistance of 1885 at the battle of Duck Lake when he was fifty-two years old. Jean Caron Sr’s house is now a historic site in Batoche. As for myself my mother is a Métis educator and academic and my father is a settler archaeologist-turned-locksmith. I introduce myself in this way, the traditional way of Métis writers to contextualize my family, my knowledge and experiences, as well as my place on this land.
Natually, my native mother and my settler archaeologist father never married and split before I was old enough to form any memories. Museums and history have always been a fascination to me; the Royal Terrell Museum in Drumheller, which I dubbed “the dead dinosaur museum” and the Royal Alberta Museum which I called “the dead mouse museum” after my favourite display. The display was a larger-than-life diorama of a mouse, it’s intestines showing, the organisms that helped decompose the corpse were also displayed, massive daddy long legs, gigantic ants, worms thicker than my arm. The RAM is an interesting place. A few years ago, it was moved into a new building downtown and I could no longer spend hours finding fossils in the limestone exterior of the original museum. The place had changed drastically. As I reminisce on what I loved about the RAM I realize that all the things I disliked were their representations of Indigenous people; the uncanny wax figures with placid skin that did not resemble a single Native person’s skin that I had met. and the artwork they portrayed as artifacts. What makes a beaded bag so different from a Van Dyck if they’re the same age? And honoured the same amount by the people who made them?
Another place of importance growing up was Fort Edmonton Park. Like Heritage Park, Fort Edmonton has costumed interpreters, who teach visitors history as if the interpreters were of that time. In the summer of 2017, my lifelong dream came true, and I became a volunteer costumed interpreter with my mentor Sheldon Stockdale, another Métis person, and we were able to teach our history in the way we felt was right, something deeply important to the Métis people. An experience we had that stands out vividly is working on Fort Edmonton’s 1920 Street, and educating visitors on the history of pemmican, a sort of ancient protein bar made from berries, dried meat, and animal fat. Pemmican was a staple of survival for the Métis, and we were asking visitors to help us in redesigning the packaging for the bar. The historic package had a representation of an Indigenous person on it, a caricature of a race. We asked visitors if turning Indigenous people into mascots should be accepted, and sadly many people didn’t see the problem. Sheldon and I borderline argued with a man who seemed to see no problem in reducing us, the people speaking to him, to caricatures. In a similar vein, someone once gave me Chicago Blackhawk’s stickers when i was six, and not knowing a thing about hockey I asked my mother who the stickers were of. I’m guessing my mother did not want to explain the history of colonization and caricatures of Indigenous people, so she dismissed my question by telling me that the man in the tacky illustration was my ancestor.
Decolonizing art history seems like an impossible task, and perhaps it is. You cannot separate someone like Emily Carr from art history in Canada, however you can change the way you teach her work. Perhaps decolonizing art history means recognizing the ways in which “art history” as a field of study is deeply Euro-centric, and how the way of teaching this history is the same. I took my first semester at AUArts in the fall of 2020 after transferring from MacEwan after completing a two-year diploma at MacEwan University. I had a sculpture class a media arts class an art history class. The more I consider how to decolonize our history the more I understand that it is not the history that can be decolonized, it is the way we are teaching said history. It is the way that so much of our education is taught to us through a colonial lens, rather than a multifaceted history with a multitude of perspectives and peoples contributing until an entire picture is formed.
In the fall of 2020 in my media arts class my professor Kurtis Lesick was discussing an artist, a black artist who had him and others participate in a performance in which in that space the black artist allowed the participants to say the N-word. Rather than describing the piece in the way I just did removing the slur, Kurtis Lesick made the conscious decision to say the N- word twice. A person I had once thought to be an ally of mine, who knew the language of decolonization. Earlier this year a classmate in this class who was also in my sculpture class in the winter of 2022 told me that ‘knowing me has made her a better person’, this woman does not know me, and I do not know her, but I knew her in that moment. I knew that she wanted me to absolve her of her settler guilt. White settlers love referencing Tuck and Yang’s Decolonization Is Not a Metaphor but sometimes I wonder if they truly understand that it is simply not enough to know the language of decolonization, that you must be actively anti-colonial in a field that is built on colonization.
I spent a lot of time at Fort Calgary this semester for my FINA class, critiquing their exhibitions wondering how they can be improved if they can be improved, and I learned that given their budget that it is not possible. Fort Calgary, like other institutions cannot afford to replace their current exhibits and entirely redesign the way they teach history. What they can do is acknowledge the missing pieces, they can acknowledge the gaps they can acknowledge the fact that there’s more than one canon of history. Sometimes I wonder if the mosaic of history is too complex to decolonize; knowing that we will never return to a world like the one that existed pre-colonization. I think about my one classmate who tokenizes me, who knows how to use decolonial language to appear one way, but who never puts those concepts into practice. I think about the settlers who think that decolonization is re-colonizing the Americas but with “the Indians” in charge this time.
I now understand that decolonizing art history cannot happen without first decolonizing institutions. I have learned that we cannot forget that we once taught art history in an i way we cannot forget the way colonization has infiltrated every aspect of the education system down to the teaching styles of each professor. if we forget how colonial art history is in the first place, we will forget why we need to decolonize. Considering the hand that art history is hard in colonization around the world, I consider about the way southeast Asian women’s bodies are talked about in my textbooks versus European odalisque paintings. Brown people’s bodies were inherently sexualized and seen as dirty, while white people’s bodies were adored and deemed Classical.
Maybe colonization is another movement in the worldwide canon of art history. Another period in the bar graph of history- as google images seems to see art history. Perhaps Emily Carr and Paul Gauguin are the faces of this genre. Just as colonization cannot be forgotten among its victims, it cannot be forgotten by its perpetrators, who still believe they are a superior culture and race. Genres of literature such as post-colonial writing from India and Sri Lanka may suggest, there was a period of colonial art and literature, perhaps it is ongoing, possibly dying out, maybe here to stay. There will always be an antithesis, an attempt to view art and art history from a different perspective, and that is how we can decolonize art history.

Anchorage, Alaska -- An Alaskan woman, who is facing murder charges in the brutal slayings of two men, told the cops she always wanted to be a serial killer.
Brianna Star Wassillie, 24, is facing murder charges for strangling two victims, Gregory Pitka, 34, and Travis Sheldon, 36, on July 3 in the Sand Lake neighborhood, Anchorage Daily News reported. The police complaint said Brianna strangled one of her victims with the strings of his own hoodie.
Brianna met Pitka in a parking lot and asked him to steal alcohol for her. When Pitka refused, Brianna allegedly beat him up and left. After a while, she returned to the scene and choked him to death before sexually assaulting his lifeless body. She then covered his body with a blanket and left the scene, the complaint stated.
The woman met Sheldon, her second victim, the same day. Brianna shared a beer with Sheldon in the woods before strangling him.
“For apparently no reason, she decides to strangle him, as well,” Curci said during the court hearing held Tuesday. “And when Travis Sheldon lost consciousness, the defendant picked up a rock — in her own words, ‘to get it done.’ She hit him on the head with a rock several times and Travis Sheldon died.”
Investigators found the bodies, and eventually tied Wassillie to the two murders after finding a letter along with an ID that belonged to Pitka.
The homeless woman has no prior criminal history, but admitted she wanted to be a serial killer right from when she was a child, a prosecutor said in the court session.
The court heard Wassillie admitted to killing several animals in the past as part of her journey to becoming a murderer.
“…She had repeatedly wondered what it would be like to take a life,” Anchorage Assistant District Attorney Alice Curci said during the court hearing, according to the New York Post.
“She admitted to killing several animals over the years — torturing them and taking videos of this,” the prosecutor added.
Officials said Wassillie had written about killing and sexually assaulting a man in the letter.
While speaking to cops, Wassillie admitted to the two killings, which Curci described as “entirely senseless” murders.
Wassillie “is an absolute danger to the community,” Curci said at the hearing.
The woman is being held at the Hiland Mountain Correctional Center in Eagle River on two charges of first-degree murder and one misdemeanor count of misconduct involving a corpse.
A judge set her bail at $500,000 cash performance and $500,000 cash appearance.

iZombie Pilot differences
(Well, the 2nd draft at least XD)
https://www.scriptslug.com/script/izombie-101-pilot-2015
Just random things that caught my attention:
Olivia “Liv” Moore (27). Rose has the same age as her character while filming season 1.
She’s transitioned from bright, blonde. I wonder why they put Rose McIver natural blonde into a brunette. More contrast with the transition? Ironically, her “human” costume has Rose with her natural hair.
Tumblr media
Clive Babinaux (30). Malcolm was 33 while filming.
Think Shaft as channelled through Jordan Peele. He's that rare combination of self-aware and super-fly. Cleavon Little in BLAZING SADDLES. I don’t get these references since I didn’t watch any of this movies, but Clive was much more serious and focused in “our” pilot.
Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti (40s). Wow, Ravi was way older than our Ravi. Rahul was 30 while filming. Thankfully we didn’t have another Hollywoodesque 10 years gap with any of the potential love interests (at this point, on paper Liv or Peyton). Also, since Rahul isn’t into “brown characters casting calls” and the age, I wonder if Ravi was the original name or if they changed the name and background after hiring the actor.
Think Simon Pegg’s “Scotty” in the Star Trek movies. A high energy, enthusiastic nerd, who has a brilliant mind that isn’t equipped with a filter or an off switch. He has an endearing lack of interpersonal skills and a genuine enthusiasm for unknown and unexplained. Conspiracy theories and unsolved mysteries are his porn. I’m glad we didn’t get another Sheldon or House.
Tumblr media
Major Lilywhite (28). Robert Buckley was 34 while filming. A bit older than Liv but better than most of media. (Yes. I fucking hate late 30s/40s actors banging twentysomethings, specially since actresses are pretty fucked up when they turn 30).
A former University of Washington strong safety turned environmental engineer. The social worker turned Lord Commander was cooler.
Tumblr media
Peyton Charles (26). Aly Michalka was 26 while filming.
They shared a love of lists and plans and predominately socialized while burning calories. Fuuuuuuuuck that. I wouldn’t handle another pretty best friend playing fatshaming into the audience. The deconstruction of using gorgeous Aly instead of “the chick” as the more stable, serious brain of the pair for me was refreshing. Even when she was “the damsel in distress” she was because she was overpowered by far.
That’s why seeing her daughter turn from ambitious super-achiever into zombiefied couch potato. Sorry. I laughed so hard with “zombified couch potato”. I think I’m going to make this my personal motto.
Evan Moore (16). Liv’s 16-year-old brother wants to be the next Dylan which is tough when your mom expects you to be the next Elon Musk. What. I didn’t expect this.
He’s a bit ashamed that he may like his sister Liv a bit better now that she’s changed into this new version that doesn’t remind himself so much of his mother. Screaming into the void forever for all the potential wasted in the Moore family that we never got.
Blaine DeBeers (28). David Ander was 34 while filming.
He’s the wussy, polo shirt with the collar up, selfimportant jerk who makes the jump from run of the mill spoiled asshole to completely evil crime lord. Probably David gives too much of evil lord or dangerous sociopath since the beginning to make him be a frat boy. I mean, the yellow plastic jacket was too much but a polo shirt? What a disgrace.
Tumblr media
EXT. LAKE WASHINGTON, SEATTLE - NIGHT CAMERA FLIES ACROSS THE SURFACE OF LAKE WASHINGTON toward a dozen party boats tied together in such a way that people can just step from one boat to the next -- Lake Havasu-style. Wow, that looked so cool. I suppose we didn’t get it for budget reasons. Also no Marcy/Major introductory scene.
SLOW MOTION SHOT of Liv running straight at camera trying to cross the 20 feet that mean a chance at survival, a look of determination on her face. Pilot Liv was braver than Our Liv. And also snarkier.
Tumblr media
REVEAL LIV, still hot, but now shockingly pale with nearly white hair. Still hot? Ugh.
Peyton leads her to an EMPTY CHAIR across from where the rest of them are sitting, then takes her seat with the group. The intervention was heavier. Liv’s inner dialogue also changes a bit more during the full original pilot.
DR. RAVI CHAKRABARTI (30s, nebbish, high-energy.). The age change here again. A mistake?
She turns to find BLAINE (late 20s, entitled, wearing a “Hugs Not Drugs” shirt.) He leans in close, his mouth by her ear, pulls plastic vials from his pocket. Blaine “no personal space” DeBeers XD
Liv throws her beer in his face. Blaine takes a menacing step toward Liv when he is tackled by a zombie. Liv shrieks, looks up, and sees the rolling zombie outbreak coming at her. This Blaine is more aggressive and his zombie origin story is different.
We return to the moment of Liv hiding under the boat railing surrounded by zombie chaos. Hid under a boat railing instead a table. I suppose budget again.
The last person she sees is BLAINE who is now a zombie. He’s left a bloody scratch down her arm. Liv wrenches free, but in doing so, bangs her head against the side of the boat and slips into the water. Different than rolling backwards to the water.
Suddenly, the blackness rips open revealing the NIGHT SKY and FLASHING RED LIGHTS. She wakes up in the night instead of the day.
Liv finishes up her story. LIV So, I hung out a while, chatted with the EMT. Made sure he had the correct spelling of my name. (off Ravi’s stare) I’m kidding. I took off. Pilot Liv craked a joke instead of “The EMT was too upset about having accidentally bagged a “living” girl to ponder any other possibilities”.
RAVI So you feel normal after you feed? LIV (smirks) Feed? -- like an animal? RAVI Sorry -- poor word choice. LIV No worries. It’s probably accurate. Truth is... I never feel normal. I don’t think I’ve slept in five months... And trust me, zombie-ism has its side effects. RAVI The Tabasco? LIV Pretty much the only way I can taste anything is if it would have at least six chili peppers next to it on a menu. The Liv-Ravi conversation was different and longer.
As Liv passes the open door of Peyton’s room, she spots a SORORITY MUG FULL OF PENS on a nearby bookshelf. She grabs the pens and continues towards the kitchen. (NOTE: This is the first of several beats of Liv impulsively swiping random objects. We’re not sure why but it will become clear later.). In our pilot Peyton asked where the pens were, here we can see how she steals them.
Too long to put in here, but there’s a full Lillymoore scene deleted in which Liv gets a bit jealous, rambles about a true love relationship and sex with a zombie, another in which the vision is different and another with Liv with concerned Evan scene deleted.
KTAU news. With Roxanna Bull. Tom Vasquez. Bill Sylvester with sports and Johnny Raines with weather. Johnny Frost was Johnny Raines and worked in channel 7 instead of 11.
Ravi and Liv sit at Clive’s desk. Ravi taps away on his phone (...). Ravi was with Liv initially at Clive’s desk scene and during Johnny’s scene. Also the conversation was way longer.
Tatiana was called Paulina Wojcinski and was Polish instead of Romanian.
Some not related with the case dialogue between Liv and Clive reaching to Paulina’s apartment has been cut.
Liv turns to him, her face ashen. This is the moment she loses her Winona Ryder dour/cool/bored affect. Interesting comparison lol
Liv, looking shell-shocked, waits nearby as Clive pounds on the door to Tess’ apartment. Soul-patched neighbour Truman opens his door in a huff.
TRUMAN She’s gone. Whatever you told her, it sent her running. It’s her body, you know. Only a patriarchal society would prevent women from monetizing their own—
CLIVE Did she say where she was going? The scene with the guy was shorter.
Liv steals a wooden apple instead of eyes. There’s two cut scenes, one with Clive, another with Eva. Clive and Eva meet. Also the scene at Paulina’s apartment is translated partially to a hotel room, with a vision involving Paulina and Tess. Another scene is added involving another apartment. Another scene involving the bad guy and Clive is cut too.
Tumblr media
Peyton exits. Liv is thrown by Peyton’s show of emotion. She looks over the stolen loot, her slovenly attire, her Cheetostained fingers as she processes Peyton’s speech. LIV - Pathetic. Liv’s awakening is different.
The scene with Johnny is shorter, another scene with Pratt was cut.
The scene with Pratt and the girls was way shorter. There are several scenes of Clive running after Pratt and Liv and Clive interacting with the girls that were cut. Liv almost eats Pratt.
Tumblr media
A scene in which Liv gets her zombie makeup applied and wanders through the haunted mansion is cut. Most of the conversation with Major and Peyton is cut.
Tumblr media

Book Blurb: From New York Times bestselling author Rachel Hawkins comes a deliciously wicked gothic suspense, set at an Italian villa with a dark history, for fans of Lucy Foley and Ruth Ware. As kids, Emily and Chess were inseparable. But by their 30s, their bond has been strained by the demands of their adult lives. So when Chess suggests a girls trip to Italy, Emily jumps at the chance to reconnect with her best friend. Villa Aestas in Orvieto is a high-end holiday home now, but in 1974, it was known as Villa Rosato, and rented for the summer by a notorious rock star, Noel Gordon. In an attempt to reignite his creative spark, Noel invites up-and-coming musician, Pierce Sheldon to join him, as well as Pierce’s girlfriend, Mari, and her stepsister, Lara. But he also sets in motion a chain of events that leads to Mari writing one of the greatest horror novels of all time, Lara composing a platinum album––and ends in Pierce’s brutal murder. As Emily digs into the villa’s complicated history, she begins to think there might be more to the story of that fateful summer in 1974. That perhaps Pierce’s murder wasn’t just a tale of sex, drugs, and rock & roll gone wrong, but that something more sinister might have occurred––and that there might be clues hidden in the now-iconic works that Mari and Lara left behind. Yet the closer that Emily gets to the truth, the more tension she feels developing between her and Chess. As secrets from the past come to light, equally dangerous betrayals from the present also emerge––and it begins to look like the villa will claim another victim before the summer ends. Inspired by Fleetwood Mac, the Manson murders, and the infamous summer Percy and Mary Shelley spent with Lord Byron at a Lake Geneva castle––the birthplace of Frankenstein––The Villa welcomes you into its deadly legacy.
Review:
Fame, romance, complicated relationships, and murder all occur in one house... told from two time lines the story revolves around a famous rockstar, two sisters, and the musician they both love.... and the murder of said musician... but after his death they both sky rocket to fame... and now in the present timeline two friends, both authors, spend a vacation at the villa in which the murder occurred... but soon they are in their own complicated web, The story follows Emily and Chess, now both in their 30s, they use to be best friends but separated due to life circumstances but Chess suggests a girls trip to Italy so both of them can work on their writing. They’ll be staying at Villa Aestas in Orveito, it is also known as Villa Rosato, a place that was rentsd by a famous rock star Noel Gordon in the summer of 1974 and in attempt to reignite his creative spark he invites up and coming musician Pierce Sheldon as well as pierce’s girlfriend Mari ( a writer) and Mari’s step sister ( a musician). This sets of a chain of events that lead to Mari writing one of the greatest horror novels of all time and Lara composing a platinum album... and ends in pierce’s brutal murder. As Emily digs around the villa she begins to find Mari’s writing about the events that occurred that summer. The more she digs in the more she becomes inspired herself yet she finds her own life reflecting those circumstances and the relationship between her and Chess are much more complexed than she thought. Think of Mari and Pierce and Mary Shelley and Percy Shelly, and their time at the villain as the time they spent with Lord Byron at a Lake Geneva Castle, they have an open relationship but it’s complicated especially since Pierce is also sleeping with Lara, but the more time they all spend together the more trapped Mari feels and soon she’ll need to free herself. The story was anticlimactic and I found myself getting irritated with a lot of the characters and their actions. The whole murder mystery twist at the end was meh at best and honestly made the book even less likeable to me. I’m happy they got their happy endings but honestly, I just wanted the book to end.
*Thanks Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for sending me an arc in exchange for an honest review*
