I’ve always found Adelil (Vampire NPC in Shornhelm Outlaws Outpost) to be an interesting character. She has two sets of dialogue and one she talks about the Ravenwatch. If she’s so upset why doesn’t she just go join the Ravenwatch? She sounds almost... jealous? If she wants that life style I’m sure all she has to do is go knock on Ravenwatch Castle’s front door and ask Kallin if she can speak to Verandis.
Unless... Maybe she’s an ex-member? Maybe she tried the life style and it doesn’t work for her? But she clearly has some level of self-control. She’s the only vampire down here and she isn’t killing anyone. (Probably because she’d either be thrown out or more likely killed).
Her dialogue also hints at the fact that she isn’t currently starving. I’m sure when she’s hungry she leaves and goes to kill people in Shornhelm or something. but if that were the case (So close to the castle) wouldn’t the Ravenwatch have taken care of her?
So what’s the deal with Adelil, I wonder?

WIP Wednesday - Aristeia
tagged by @dirty-bosmer and @mareenavee - like you, my friend, I have no chill so here's a long snippet ha ha.
I am tagging @skyrim-forever @gilgamish @greyborn2 @moriche @thana-topsy @nientedenada @totally-not-deacon
Fandom: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Rating: T (blood and violence) Category: gen Genre(s): Adventure, Homer retelling Main characters: Borgakh the Steel Heart, the orcs of Mor Khazgur
Summary: Borgakh is a dutiful daughter of Mor Khazgur, an orc stronghold in a remote corner of the Reach that has existed since the Merethic era. Expected to someday become the shield-wife of a distant chieftain, Borgakh tries to uphold the Code of Malacath as best she can. But when her father, the chief of their stronghold, goes missing while on a quest for vengeance, the suitors that show up to vie for his place cause no end of trouble and threaten the strength of Mor Khazgur. Borgakh soon finds herself traveling far from home across the Druadach Mountains to find her father and save the stronghold.
The first chapter is here on AO3.
Here's some more for chapter 2!
“Borgakh,” Bagrak’s voice pulled Borgakh’s attention away from the work at the forge. “We will be doing shield drills today. Warm up appropriately.”
“Yes, mother,” Borgakh said, and moved to the small sparring ground in front of the longhouse. Several training dummies and a clear, leveled area marked where the members of the stronghold trained for battle. Borgakh had already thrown her threadbare gambeson over the dummy to keep it at hand, and quickly selected her waster and wooden shield from the weapon racks before donning the gambeson. It was getting hard to close over her chest and the hem no longer reached her knees.
Borgakh had thought it comically large when Grutha had made it for her.
She grimaced as she turned away from the memory, and swung the waster a few times – it possessed the same proportions and balance as her orchalcum sword, but it was half again as heavy. The hornbeam practice shield was likewise much heavier than the fine laminated shield Borgakh called her own. She settled the guige around her neck and adjusted the length until a small portion of the weight was removed from her arm and distributed across her shoulders.
The sounds of the stronghold faded from her awareness as Borgakh executed the forms her mother had taught her.
Bagrak came from a stronghold near Shornhelm; the name meant nothing to Borgakh beyond an abstract point on the maps Sharamph kept in a cedar chest in the longhouse storeroom. Bagrak had impressed upon her as a young child that all the orcs of Yarzul stronghold and especially the Shield-Wives had been taught the sword-forms by their mothers, and in turn it would someday be Borgakh’s duty to pass them down to her sons and daughters.
The forms started with simple, slow movements; Borgakh repeated them at half-speed until she was fully confident her steps and strikes were precise; only then did she execute the entire sequence at full speed.
Olur’s steady hammering at the forge became a metronome as Borgakh turned her attention to the training dummy – she found herself striking in time with the ringing of his anvil.
Nearside-overhand, offside-underhand.
The training dummy shuddered as it absorbed her rhythmic blows.
Offside-overhand, nearside-underhand.
A chunk of red paint from the center of the target painted on the dummy’s shield was carved off with one of Borgakh’s cuts.
The familiarity of the movement allowed Borgakh to expand her awareness; the haggling over the goods Pavo had brought with him resolved itself from background noise into words.
“-Kolskeggr is practically belching out gold, I can easily extend you credit-” Pavo was saying.
“We do not need your credit, we will make a fair trade for what we can here and now.” Sharamph said. Her cowl was thrown back to reveal the gray streaks in her hair. Borgakh could hear Shuftharz grunt in agreement. “You have been spending too much time with those Nords in Markarth, if you’re talking about nonsense like credit.”
“I don’t want interest or anything-”
“Mor Khazgur does not owe debts,” Shuftharz said with finality.
“Look, if you’re that determined, I can–”
“Your sword is fast, but it outpaces your shield.” Bagrak’s voice cut through Borgakh’s eavesdropping.
Borgakh completed her final thrust, and brought her sword to a low guard before turning to face her mother.
“You leave your hand unprotected when striking.”
“My own shield is larger so–”
“You will not always be fighting with your own shield, and you must be adept with any armament you may find yourself using.” Bagrak picked up Borgakh’s helmet and handed it to her, before placing her own on her head.
“Yes, mother.” With the helm in place, Borgakh’s world contracted again, the narrow field of view afforded by the oculi in the nasal guard. The camail draped over her shoulders and neck, trapping the moisture from her breath as Borgakh settled it over her mouth and nose.
Bagrak was doing the same, her helm had a cascade of fine orichalcum scales that flowed from the brim of her helmet, transitioning into the finest mail Shuftharz’s forge could produce; it veiled her as she hefted her own wooden waster into a high guard position and turned to Borgakh.
Lifting the shield, Borgakh mirrored her mother’s stance, and their sparring began.

— oc tag game;
↳ was tagged by the ever so talented @jozstankovich, thank you so much! ♡ incredibly pretty picrew credit here! ♡
➺ FAVORITE OC:
Tumblr media
(as of right now) FEYLITH ARUNVEL • eso
I’ve been on an eso hyperfixation for a while now and Feylith makes me so happy, she is currently my main comfort oc and I am rotating her in my mind like in a microwave at all times. She is actually a part of an extensive family of ocs I made for eso and its youngest member (age-wise) as of now. Raised in a Telvanni mushroom tower by two mothers and being the youngest of three sisters, she is generally shy and aloof, but has a kind heart. She is a trained mycologist and alchemist and loves travelling across Tamriel cataloguing foreign fungi and flora; yet she always finds herself entangled in some adventure or another. She is my main eso oc and I ship her with Verandis because he deserves some happiness in the world. :3c
+ more under the cut!
Tumblr media
➺ NEWEST OC:
Tumblr media
SELENE ARUNVEL • eso
Speaking of the Arunvel family, Selene is Feylith’s aunt, a powerful mage and a member of the Psijic order. She specializes in researching dwemer time magic and she married a noblewoman out of Shornhelm, Rivenspire. Her manor is often a summer holiday destination for her sister and her daughters.
Tumblr media
➺ OLDEST OC:
Tumblr media
ELINOR LAVELLAN • dragon age: inquisition
She is technically not my oldest oc, but I don’t really talk about my old original novel on here anymore. She is the oldest video game oc that I still keep even though she has been revamped a couple of times. She is a necromancer and a usually lone and withdrawn scholar. She never really fit in with her clan much, keeping spirits and forest animals as her company. She romances Solas because I love suffering and I am all here for the big bad wolf / soft and kind woman vibe I just want to punch Solas in the mouth and also kiss him.
Tumblr media
➺ MEANEST OC:
Tumblr media
ODETTA D’PAVENSEI • tyranny + original verse
It’s not that she is mean by choice or intent, Odetta simply cannot stand fools, tardiness, or incompetence. She has a direct goal in her mind that she will follow no matter what, even if it means leaving a sea of corpses in her wake. She is brutally honest, follows a personal code and has a sense of lawfulness around her. She believes she is doing the right thing and she has no time to consider other people’s feelings. She is also a very hot evil mommy and she can step on me anytime.
Tumblr media
➺ SOFTEST OC:
Tumblr media
FAERENE ROSENHALL • pathfinder: wrath of the righteous + original verse
She is my go-to oc and an inspiration behind a lot of others. In fact, she could be considered as a base source I base a lot of my other pink soft and gentle ocs around or a multi-verse oc. She is a fey abandoned at birth and raised by a mortal family. It goes without saying that in p:wotr she chooses the Azata mythic path. She has been known for having very vivid dreams and Desna often contacted her through visions, leading her towards Kenabres and her destiny. Faerene’s story is a story about self-discovery and realizing one’s self-worth. In a way, she is an inspiration to myself as well.
Tumblr media
➺ MOST ALOOF/STANDOFFISH OC:
Tumblr media
DOROTHEA LEFEBVRE • dragon’s dogma: dark arisen
I don’t talk about Dorothea much, or dragon’s dogma for that matter, but she is very dear to my heart. She has selective mutism and often keeps to herself. Known as The Lady of Moths, she has a peculiar ability that allows her to speak to moths (specifically, and only moths) who often whisper the events happening around the world to her. She and Grigori, the big bad dragon, are both connected souls and partners destined to clash together again and again, only to earn a brief respite in the afterlife before the Cycle begins anew.
Tumblr media
➺ DUMBEST (AFFECTIONATE) OC:
Tumblr media
FAY TEMPLETON • fallout 4
It’s not that she is actually dumb (she is a quite smart mechanic but there are different types of intelligence, obviously), it’s the stubbornness and the absolutely crazy and strange drive which propels her to dive into any dangerous situation with her head forwards, guns blazing. Fay has strong determination to not let the Wasteland break her and her enthusiasm is contagious. She is here to turn the Commonwealth into a better place and helps people in need without thinking. Also, she is physically impervious to flirting and Hancock needs to blatantly tell her he likes her only for her to go “Ah he is just nice.”
Tumblr media
➺ SMARTEST OC:
Tumblr media
ALETHEA CÉLESTE • DIVINITY: ORIGINAL SIN II
Alethea is one of my favorite ocs of all time. She is a plant-based necromancer and a healer who lives in a witchy cottage in the middle of the woods. Ostracized by her community, she has been keeping to herself for several centuries, only her undead ancestors keeping her company. She has used this time well. Being a seeker of knowledge, Alethea managed to collect a lot of books and scriptures on a variety of subjects. Despite being a necromancer, she is quite a talented healer as well, folks seeking her for her remedies from time to time.
Tumblr media
➺ HORNIEST OC:
➺ OC YOU’D BANG:
➺ OC YOU’D BE BEST FRIENDS WITH IRL: I feel like I would get along well with all of them but especially Feylith, Farene and Alethea sound very much like me.
↳ tagging, if they want to: @fantasmagoriam, @cryptcombat, @theviridianbunny, @brujah, @swanfey, @sephiratales, @shadowglens, @indorilnerevarine, @leviiackrman, @florbelles, @nokstella, @elluvians, @hermaeusmoras, @nocticulas, @baldurians, @nokstella, @lavampira, @aragorngf, @ehlnofaey, @lyriumrain + you!

A while ago, I made a post asking what city or town in Tamriel people felt like was “theirs.” I wasn’t expecting it to get as much attention as it did, but it got over 1000 notes, with almost 600 of those being reblogs! Now, being the nerd I am, I felt like I had actually collected a pretty sizable amount of data, and I think data is interesting, so I went ahead and compiled it! This is based on the tags, comments, and reblogs of that post. I did my best to compile everything, including misspellings and odd fonts/typing styles, but I may not have caught every single thing. Overall, though, this should be very representative of the information from that post.
Without further ado, here are Tesblr’s favorite cities:
Tumblr media
Riften had an overwhelming majority, being 93 people’s home city. This was 28 more than second place, Falkreath at 65.
After Falkreath, Whiterun, Anvil, Balmora, and Cheydinhal were very close, from 64-59 votes each.
Markarth, Solitude, and Skingrad were the next group, from 53-40 votes each.
The rest of the cities that had votes in the double digits, in descending order were Bruma, Bravil, Daggerfall, Riverwood, Morthal, Rimmen, Leyawiin, Chorrol, Alinor, Imperial City, Winterhold, Windhelm, Vivec, Raven Rock, Dawnstar, and Sadrith Mora, ranging from 24-11 votes each.
Funnily enough, many comments about Markarth mentioned it being an unpopular opinion, despite it coming in at 7th place overall.
6 people each voted for Solsteim, Rivenspire, and Cyrodiil, which are notably not cities.
The most commonly misspelled city was Leyawiin, with 5 alternate spellings in the notes.
Interestingly, two people voted for Helgen, and both of them misspelled it as “Helgan.” (I also wonder how much Elder Scrolls you’ve played if your favorite city is Helgen? But I digress x3).
Under the cut I will leave the rest of the cities that got votes in the single digits! How did your favorite city stack up? Is it rare? Were you surprised by these results?

Here's my Dragonborn, miss Edolisse Wickham!
She's a Breton mage from Shornhelm, trying to track her uncle down in Skyrim when she stumbled upon the smoldering remains of Helgen. Then it's all downhill from there.

14. Favorite subject in school? “I didn’t attend a lot at school because I wasn’t nor of the elite, nor a proficient mage... But I really liked Botanics. Very interesting and useful too ! For cooking and alchemy !”
15. Dream Job? “If I could be a court cook like my brother Etienne, who was recruted by our King’s steward... Or be a reputed alchemist like Vorian Direnni, or Alyandon Mathierry or even Sinderion !”

You know how Ravenwatch and Skywatch both end in ‘Watch?’
I was pickpocketing in Shornhelm and saw something that I thought said, “Commemorative Ravenwatch....” but I didn’t notice until I sold it to the fence already and was devastated. I’m telling myself it was the commemorative Skywatch festival dice set or whatever... but the words were yellow and not green and I can’t help but wonder if I found something rare and cool in game and accidentally got rid of it :/

Did You Know: The despotic House Spenard ruled Shornhelm for a miserable 186 years? The region experienced a perpetual famine for this entire period, and their bloodthirsty vassals earned them a particular reputation for misrule. There is also evidence to suggest that every monarch of this dynasty, from Frestrien Spenard I to Frestrien Spenard VI, was actually just a single vampire pretending to be his own descendants.

feylith grew up reading gothic novels. arlathi, one of her older sisters, would keep a rather enviable collection, from macabre horror to chilling romance. while younger, feylith would sneak around at night and borrow a few of them to then read under the covers. she would get so scared but also so intrigued and so it never really left her and she became quite a big fan, even trying to pen her own stories when given time. the fact that her aunt had a residence in shornhelm really helped to ignite her passion for the genre while growing up. rivenspire's imposing gothic atmosphere always felt so unusual to feylith and she looked forward to visiting her aunt during the summers
