Since today is Shouji’s birthday, it got me thinking about how he and Ibara might celebrate together 

Shouji’s a man of simple tastes, he doesn’t need anything fancy- a quiet afternoon at the park with his sweet girl is just his style 

They stop at a food stand for some takoyaki because it’s Shouji’s favorite, and afterwards they take a pleasant stroll through the park, walking hand in hand and enjoying the beauty of nature around them 

At one point, they come across a patch of beautiful wildflowers, and Ibara’s eyes light up when she sees them- they absolutely must stop to frolic in them together, twirling round and round and laughing softly 

Shouji quickly picks a bouquet of wildflowers for Ibara, presenting them to her with one pair of hands and weaving a few extra flowers into her hair with another pair 

“Oh, Shouji-san, you’re so kind… but it’s your birthday, I should be the one giving you a gift!” 

“It’s all right… I don’t need anything. Just seeing you happy is enough.” 

Ibara simply hides her pink-tinted face behind the bouquet in response, her heart warmed by his sweet words  After walking for a while longer, they stop to rest under a tree, where Ibara presents Shouji with his birthday gift- a warm poncho that she made herself 

It’s beautifully woven with rich earthy tones- stripes of brown, blue, a shade of green that perfectly matches Ibara’s vines… 

Shouji gently runs his fingers across the poncho, overwhelmed by Ibara’s generosity- it clearly took a lot of time and effort to make, and he can feel the love in every stitch 

He takes Ibara’s hands in his and expresses his sincere gratitude, then wraps his arms around her in a gentle embrace 

They spend the rest of the afternoon sitting under the tree together, Ibara reading aloud from the book she brought with 

Shouji rests his head on Ibara’s and sighs contentedly, feeling relaxed and peaceful at the sound of her melodic voice 

He can think of no better way to celebrate another year of life than simply being with the girl he loves- few things bring him more happiness than this

REALLY lovin’ your writings huehue<3 I recently have gotten deep into them through Shouji related stuff (sorry for my bias. i love him too much Xd), and MAn, your ideas and writing style kill me every time I read them (..in a good way lol). Simply lovable and winsome, especially how consistent you keep the characters in the way they’re represented within the original, yet abiding by the uniqueness of your own story concepts and ideas.

I can just see how much effort you put in your writings. Like, you keep writing the things you want without expecting things back from us readers. And this is a lot of dedication, despite there being no guarantee that you’ll get things that’re worth the effort in return. Thing is, I just wanna tell you that you’re more deserved than what people show here online. And I genuinely want to show that I adore your works, more than just giving Kudos or visiting them to read everyday, because you truly are gifted.

So I wanted to offer you something. It’s not much, but it’s a drawing of Shiozaki and Shouji from your fic, “The Maiden and the Monster”. I know I still lack a lot when it comes to drawing, but it’s one of the few better things I can do. If you do actually like it, please don’t hesitate to ask me for more like this, as sketches and or detailed panels to put in your fics for further entertainment. I know I’d be glad to do it in favor of your passionate writings. (that is, within the boundary of what I CAN draw… i’m still practicing, ehem ~w~;;9)

Which Shouji ships did you discovered through fics?

Through fics? Hm, if that’s the case, then my first discovery was ShouToko (Shouji x Tokoyami), and then came Shouzaki (Shouji x Shiozaki). Other than that, well.. I don’t know;;;; I was able to know more about Shouji ships through fanarts made by artists who ship him with various other characters, such as Sero, Ojiro, Todoroki, Hagakure, and Tsuyu. It’s quite obvious that a lot, and I mean A  L O T -  ..of the ship fics of Shouji are ShouToko, so I didn’t get to find much ship fics to read other than that. In any case, I’m fully devoted to it, it shall remain as my #1 MHA ship, and I shall let it sail within my heart.

So ever since I was prompted by someone from a server I’m in, I’ve been thinking about what a Shoubara wedding would be like 

It’d be a small wedding- they decided they wanted to keep it to family and close friends, Shouji especially 

I can definitely see them having an outdoor wedding of some sort- maybe in a garden or a field of wildflowers, and there’d be plenty of floral decorations 

Before the big event, Ibara takes some time to soak the ends of her hair in water so it’ll look fresh and healthy, and so little flowers will sprout up in it 

Shouji is a bit nervous about taking his mask off to kiss Ibara, since he doesn’t want to scare the guests or anything… of course, Ibara reassures him that his face is nothing to be ashamed of, but she also offers to use her bouquet to shield their faces when they kiss, to ease his worries a bit 

And when he finally gets to see his beautiful bride walking down the aisle, Shouji brings a hand to his heart… he’s just in awe of how lovely she is, and it starts to sink in that wow, this is the woman he gets to spend the rest of his life with, and he’s just so happy- 

And after their vows and “you may kiss the bride” and all that, Shouji lifts the veil to find Ibara looking up at him with the most loving eyes and radiant smile, and it melts his heart 

Ibara reaches up to gently caress his face with one hand and hold the bouquet in front of their faces with the other, and Shouji in turn lowers his mask and tenderly cups her face, and they briefly touch foreheads before they go in for the kiss 

And thanks to his quirk, Shouji can also stroke her hair and hug her while still cupping her face 

It’s a beautiful wedding, many tears are shed, and the lovely couple ends the day by enjoying a slow dance under the setting sun as a gentle breeze blows 

As for their wedding cake, I could see them having a few tiers of cupcakes decorated to look like pretty flowers 

And they’d likely spend their honeymoon somewhere peaceful, like in a quaint cabin up in the mountains, with a quiet nature trail nearby for them to explore, just enjoying each other’s company as they start their new life together

“Ow,” Shouji grunted.

“Don’t you ‘ow’ me!” Shiozaki gave him a light swat on his arm, far away from the large gash in his webbing that she was trying to patch up. “This is your own retribution, being so careless!” Shouji could only give her a sheepish look as she clucked her tongue and returned to sewing the tear back together. “How do you manage to get like this every other time??”

“I’m a short-range combatant,” he answered. “It’s normal that I would end up with more injuries.” Shiozaki just huffed.

“Don’t give me that! It’s because you throw yourself so wholeheartedly into danger. Even now--” She sighed and tied off another knot. “Refusing to go to a hospital--!”

“They’re probably overwhelmed with the disaster’s victims.” Shouji reached up to rub the back of his neck. “This injury isn’t anything major. I could patch it myself--”

“Absolutely not.” Shiozaki snipped at the thread. She dabbed at the wound with some cleaning alcohol, then continued in a softer voice. “You needn’t put everything on yourself, you know.”

“I know,” Shouji answered in the same, solemn tone. “I’m sorry. I’ll try and be more careful next time.”

Shiozaki finished the last stitch, then, with some final cleaning, she carefully wrapped the injury in bandages. It was hard to get them to wrap around his arms just right, but she had practice and a skillful, careful hand. If prompted, Shouji would admit he much preferred her handiwork to hospital staff.

That done, she stripped her gloves off and set them aside, then stood up on her knees to hug him around the neck.

“Please be more careful,” she murmured. “I cannot bear to see you hurt.” Shouji wrapped his good arms around her back, cradling her close.

“I will,” he promised.

Do you think Monoma might have passed out when he saw Shouji and Shiozaki kiss in front of him for the first time?

I don’t think he would react that intensely. By the time they got to the stage of kissing he’d better have learned to accept it.

What kind of plans did class 1A and class 1B elaborate to keep Monoma in the dark, so that Shouji and Shioazki had time for themselves? It's a little detail that I loved in your first Shouzaki fic ;)

“You’re so quick!” Shiozaki marveled at the speed of Shouji’s hands as he turned yarn over needle to finish off another row of knitting. Her own project, started at the same time, was a good half shorter than his.

“I have a lot of practice,” he answered simply, “I use this to train my quirk’s dexterity and control.”

“How resourceful!” Shiozaki nodded along, studying her own project. “I wonder if I could do something similar with my own quirk.”

“You could.” Shouji nodded. “You’re already very dexterous with it from what I’ve seen.”

Shiozaki blushed and ducked her head from the complement. “Oh no, I still need much more-”

“Yo!” Tetsutetsu swung in from the doorway. “We gotta Code Blond!”

Shiozaki yelped and dropped her knitting while Shouji shoved his own project behind him. Tetsutetsu took a running leap and wedged himself in the very small empty space between the two, just in time. A second later Monoma rounded the corner, lecturing Tsunotori on something.

“So next time they show up you can tell them-ah.” He paused to give an easy smile. “Hey Shiozaki, Tetsutetsu…” His smile turned into a sneer. “-aaaand some lowly trash, it seems.” Shouji made no movement to react, apparently focused on something on his phone. Shiozaki however, puffed her cheeks out in anger and her vines stirred up like a snake getting poised to strike.

“Monoma!” Kendo came jogging over. “Hey, I need you for something.” Monoma twisted around with a curious expression.

“Oh? With what?”

“Something.” She swung her arm to catch him around the neck, dragging him off and out the door. The three of them watched him go, then Shiozaki heaved a sigh.

“I’m so terribly sorry.” She rested one hand in her cheek as Tetsutetsu hopped up again. “To have to hide in secrecy like dishonest thieves…”

“It’s not really secrecy,” Tetsutetsu offered, “It’s just…anyone but Monoma.” Shouji just shrugged, retrieving his knitting.

“He’ll probably get ever his…thing, eventually.”

“I should hope so!” Shiozaki huffed and clenched her hands. “If not, I will give him a stern talking to!” Her vines rustled again, and Shouji and Tetsutetsu exchanged a look of concerned pity for Monoma’s future.

Uhm, I just wanted to say, that I adore your Shoubara fics, especially because you get both of their characters right. Like, when most people write Shouji, they always make him, like, kinda shy and insecure of himself/his quirk, when he's never been like this in canon. In fact, when Nejire asked bout his mask, he almost answered nonchalantly, he isn't shy or insecure . And Ibara is one of my favourite B students, she's powerful af. So yeah, thx for writing them good fics, and writing them right.

I basically see Shouji as this very calm, levelheaded person who has accepted himself but is aware that others may fear him. He doesn’t go out of his way to avoid people (unless he has reason to), but he doesn’t start conversations either.

(Not to say he isn’t also a huge dork too. All of them are.)

Shiozaki is so freaking powerful and her quirk is so cool. Next time I want to write her in a way that showcases that. It’s hard in Maiden and the Monster because she didn’t grow up with her vines.

Have you ever imagined domestic Shouzaki?

ALL THE TIME. Consider:

- A small modest apartment.

- Little succulents on the windowsill.

- They bake bread together.

- Given Shouji’s lack of interest in stuff most of the decoration is from Shiozaki.

- Unless this is ShioShouToko, in which it’s an eclectic blend of cute plants and graceful religious imagery and spooky occult stuff.

- Whenever anyone visits they are so confused.

I did have a bit of domestic ShioShouToko in this oneshot chapter. Also there’s a domestic moment with Shouzaki I wrote for the @1milzine on sale now!

How did you get the ideas for "An Octopus Garden, With You" and "The Maiden and the Monster"?

Good question. I know I had a thought process uhhhh

I think for Octopus’ Garden, I was trying to figure out how the two would go about a romance, and these kinds of shenanigans came to mind, since neither of them would be bold enough to make a move. Started with Iida because I write him a lot and he’s great, and then I used the opportunity to write Pony, which was fun.

(The title is of course from the Beatles song, very fitting to them.)

I think it was the same For Maiden and the Monster. It suited them, this fairytale story and a scary dude turning out to be a nice person (though I did have to make a few tweaks to the story). I think I’d also like to make one for the Briar Rose Princess aka sleeping beauty (But again, with a lot of tweaks to the plot).

Rapunzel could also work...something about those two lends itself to fairytales.

Next time I write them, I want Shiozaki to have a more confident role, because her quirk is awesome and she’s awesome. She’s gonna show up in my fantasy au.

I did have that Little Mermaid plot too, where Shouji is an octopus merman who wants to see the land, and Tokoyami tries to give him a human body but only gets it kind of half-right...In that, Shiozaki is the head priestess of the nearby city who takes in these very confused travelers.

It would be nice if I could make like, a collection, but that’s a lot...>_>
