Catching up on the whole watcher situation because I ironically stopped watching their channel regularly because I didn’t like how expensively produced their shows were compared to Buzzfeed Unsolved’s simplicity

obv the movie is titled zoey 102 but the most annoying thing about it was that we didn't even really get to see quinn and logan in their relationship. like the focus was almost always on their conflicts with regards to the marriage but the first real moment between them where it wasn't about that conflict was when they had their first dance and quinn teased him about the oyster shuckers. and it was such a small moment but i loved it and i want more insight into their daily life and the everyday teasing and uplifting and idk like again obv the title is zoey 102 but i don't think most people would disagree that it fully being a movie about quinn and logan would have been so much better. like the zoey and chase plot took up so much unnecessary space and their sudden bout of closure didn't even make sense bc they had one conversation prior to it after over a decade of mutual non-communication so why was any of this more important than quinn and logan. esp logan tbh. like quinn kind of had the liberty of a few moments to herself where she expressed her worldview in her own way but logan had close to none up until the proposal and yes i do love that he's quinn's number one supporter but i also wanted to know what that was like outside of the context of the wedding if that makes sense. like how he exists in their day to day relationship. there were glimpses of that in the final wedding sequence but i wanted so much more and i know the idea of a spin-off is so delusional at this point but the cast do apparently want to do it and i for one would love an exclusively quinn and logan spin-off where zoey and chase can be side characters ig 🙄 so.. why not!

I find it kind of silly that so many of those "time based life rule" sayings are like ~deep serious guidelines~ of some sort, but then there's that one other Well Known Rule that's just like "hrmm can I eat something off of the ground or not"

#the duality of human condition.. two biggest concerns in the modern era are attempts at self fulfilling productivity #and also 'if i drop my sandwich can i still eat it :(' #Also while capitalism is often linked with/the source of hyper productivity culture - note that I do not mean the images in that context #'meaningful to you' does not have to mean 'productive within a capitalist system'. The point is not 'every waking hour of every day #must be spent in the most societally productive grinding mindset hyper efficency mode possible' but more like #if you've always wanted to learn french ever since you were a kid and you think it would be fulfilling to you (just because you like it #absent of any larger purpose like using it for a job/monetizing it somehow/etc.). and you've just spent like 5 hours straight on tiktok #or something mindlessly scrolling the internet. maybe someimtes it'd help for your own personal fulfillment in the long #run to try to - the next time you have 5 spare hours - work on learning french or something that is actually significant to you #as a person and that you'll be glad you worked towards. instead of weeks and weeks passing by and feeling you have nothing to show for it #or etc. AAANYWAY. The images/rules themselves are also NOT the main point of this post. More just the juxtaposition of them together #and the fact that 3 of them are serious seeming while one is so mundane it seems silly in comparison. #BUT even though they're not the main point . I still didn't want it to come across as if I was like promoting or buying into capitalist #productivity culture propaganda or etc. I don't find productivity tips like this inherently bad as long as they're kind of divorced from #those ideas. I think it's still important in life to have goals even if those goals exist outside of the typical expected framework. #I mean that's actually part of why a culture of chronically exhausted overworked deprived people is damaging because if you #'re forced to spend 85% of your waking time working at some job that is perosnally meaningless to you that brings you nothing that #youre only doing under threat of starvation and houselesness and etc. then of course you don't have much time for hobbies or things you car #about and of course you'll feel more aimless and personally unsatisfied and like life is not fulfilling or interesting. #Productivity and efficiency is GOOD actually. as long as it's able to be directed in ways that are actually meaingful to the community or #individual and bring some sort of feeling of fulfillment or progress or accomplishment and working towards a person's personal ideas #of happiness whatever those are. rather than just working away aimlessly so some guy you don't know can buy a 20th house or etc. etc. #ANYWAY.. lol.. #operaposting #eugene onegin #the problem with this prod/interpretation is that lensky simply doesn't occupy enough of the story to be the most major part of it #and tatiana is considerably more important #add that to the fact that they're making an abridged version and what happens is that many of the cuts are the seemingly unimportant parts #that actually have a lot of significance textually for tatiana #who if you're looking at the original text is really more of a main character than even onegin himself #like i love lensky but a production of onegin that focuses on lensky doesn't function as well imo #IDEALLY if you're going to go that direction using sexuality to show that the characters aren't showing their true personalities #and are instead acting out manufactured personas for social approval #then i would prefer that tatiana also be included because there is a lot of opportunity there #literally the entire part about her marrying a rich prince that she doesn't care about. is about that. #i'm not saying that she should be gay but her rejection of her sexuality for social approval is like. actually in the text. #OR at least you have naked cowboys during the polonaise like warlikowski. that's camp. i like it #tldr of course onegin and lensky fucked nasty that's not the point of the show though

on a semi sillier note i kinda been holding back on ever talking more in detail about that “watching every mainline disney animated film” challenge (which was actually re-completed a while ago after a completionism compulsion took over. But im not even playin’ when i say it’s a challenge, i mean that deadass— this junk is not easy) CUZ THERE’s SOOO much to say. Im sure going chronologically would’ve gave a better through-line but tbh this junk went on for years on/off for life reasons so its not like anyone was binging (binging probably would have been a bad choice with this lol)

Funny I never showed my tier list for that lol but, honestly in retrospect i dont even think a tier list fully encapsulates how that all felt ON WHAT I THink was an actually really interesting thing to analyze and go through 😩 …mostly on a personal note I found it really fascinating in retrospect. Cuz telling anybody outside of the person i was doing this with always was met with polarizing responses. Either it’s mild interest or feeling bad for me like i was putting myself through torture or something (tho trust, there are some agonizing ones in there)

How did they inadvertently create the most heart-shattering, beautiful, romantic storyline featuring actors with the most palpable on screen chemistry I- 😭

#even if you viewed them platonic how do you not see them as having one of the most important and significant dynamics in the series??? #obviously the danvers sisters is up there #but there's not a single romantic partner kara had that changed her as person the way lena did and vice versa SHE LITERALLY TELLS HER THAT #and lena wasn't a villain she was a morally grey anti-hero but kara never stopped believing in her even when others did #she was the reason lena stayed on the side of good and made their storyline so appealing #and lena was genuinely such a good friend to kara before kara's betrayal #she just got hurt and made bad choices but even kara forgave her because she understood why #and lena really went out of her way to make up for her mistakes to earn kara's trust back #but they also were so romantically coded #the number of parallels between other cw hero ships was insane for what was supposedly a 'friendship' #like on one side sure i'll accept they were 'just friends' in canon #but on the other side there were so many production choices that framed them as a couple IN CANON #non-canon can simply be subtext but supercorp was so blaringly romantic in context i feel like a crazy person rewatching their scenes #if you made it this far have a cookie🍪 #supercorp
