高価な機材を使っているからと言って、腕のいいカメラマンとは限らない。

常にRAWで撮影すること。

単焦点レンズでの撮影は、腕磨きになる。

写真編集はそれだけで、1つのアートだと言える。

三分割法は99％の場合において効果的である。

マクロ写真は誰でもできるわけではない。

UVフィルターはレンズキャップの役割もある。

写真フォーラムなんかに何時間も行くよりは、外に出て写真を撮った方がいい。

平凡な日々の生活の中にある美しい一瞬を切り取ること。それが、入賞作品になる。

フィルムがデジタルより良いというわけではない。

デジタルがフィルムより良いというわけでもない。

魔法のカメラやレンズなんてものは存在しない。

良いレンズを使ったからと言って、良い写真が撮れるとは限らない。

他の人の作品を見続けるよりも、自分の写真を撮りに行くこと。

パーティーにデジタル一眼レフは持って行くな。

女はカメラマンに弱い。

写真を白黒にしたからといって、アーティスティックな感じになるわけではない。

Photoshop使ったというと、なぜか人は急にあなたの写真の価値を下げる。こういう時は、「Photoshop」ではなく「デジタル暗室」という言い方をすること。

何でもかんでも写真に撮れば良いというわけではない。

少なくとも2つバックアップをとっておくこと。戦争での、2は1、1は0という考え方と同じ。

ネックストラップはやめて、ハンドストラップを使うこと。

被写体に近づくこと。大抵の場合、その方がいい写真が撮れる。

撮影中はその場の一員となること。傍観者にはなるな。

かがむ等して目線を下げて写真を撮ること。大抵の場合、その方がより面白い写真が撮れる。

技術的な心配をするよりも、フレーミングや写真の構成に注視すること。

機材にあるロゴを黒いテープ等で隠してしまうこと。これによって自分があまり目立たなくなる。

明るい日中に撮影する場合は、常に露出少なめ、2/3程度で撮影すること。

撮れば撮るほど、上手くなる。

露出や、アングル、F値を変えて同じ場所で数枚撮影するのを恐れないこと。

ベストの1枚だけを人に見せること。

コンデジもカメラである。

オンラインの写真フォーラムに参加してみること。

他の人の作品を批評してみること。

撮る前によく考えること。

良い写真に説明はいらない。（しかし、時に背景にある情報が画に意味合いを持たせることはある。）

お酒と写真の相性は良くない。

他のカメラマンから影響を受けるのはいい。しかし、崇拝してはいけない。

粒子は美しい。

カメラ用バッグは捨てて、メッセンジャーバッグを使うこと。レンズやカメラが取り出しやすくなる。

シンプルさが鍵。

フォトグラフィーは、「光で描く」という意味。光を操ること。

セカンドモニターは便利。

構成という点において、写真と絵画に大きな違いはない。

写真は趣味ではない。ライフスタイルだ。

言い訳はなし。

オリジナルな写真を撮ること。他人のスタイルをマネしてはいけない。

良い写真とは、見る人がもっと聞きたくなるようなストーリーを持っているものだ。

黒以外のカメラは、人目を惹きすぎる。

機材を多く持ち歩けば持ち歩く程、写真を楽しむ余裕がなくなる。

上手い自画像を撮るのは、思っているよりも難しい。

笑わせることで、モデルの人柄を引き出せる。

撮影中に怪しい人と思われないように。周りの環境に馴染むこと。

風景写真は飽きる。

写真を撮っている時は、まず楽しむこと。

人や場所を撮影する時は、敬意を表すること。

路上で自然に人々を撮影する場合は、望遠レンズよりも広角レンズを使うこと。

旅行と写真は、最高のカップル。

This made it much more accessible to the casual photographer and increased its popularity. They reduced the price of the Nik Collection to $150 (from $500). They were developed by Nik Software, which also developed Snapseed, a popular mobile phone editing app. Nik plugins have been around since the late 1990s. This popular suite of photo editing plugins has a history. Color Efex Pro 4 creates pops of colour in the dunes and deepens the blues of the sky. It automatically adjusts known lens-specific distortions, or you can manually alter geometric distortions. It was launched in 2020 with Nik Collection 3. The newest addition to the Nik line-up is Perspective Efex. You can globally change colours or select an area for enhancement. It emphasizes localized adjustments using Control Points. When you’ve tried Silver Efex Pro 2 for black & white, it’s very difficult to go back to anything else. This is a powerful black & white conversion tool that simulates the appearance of classic film emulsions and darkroom printing techniques with real depth and richness. With its sophisticated tonal controls, film simulations and localised control points, Silver Efex Pro 2 is surely in a class of its own Initially this feels vague, but it proves to be a quick and intuitive way to make localised enhancements. You click to add a control point and it adds its own mask, based on the colour values where you clicked, operating over an adjustable radius. Some, though, are near-indispensable, such as Graduated Filters, Contrast Colour Range (which is terrific for enhancing colour in landscapes), Detail Extractor and Tonal Contrast.Įach filter has its own adjustment parameters, and they all use Nik’s control-point technology for localised adjustments. You may never use the burnt landscape look of Indian Summer, the false colours of the Ink filter or the soft-focus Duplex effect. The 55 different filters vary in usefulness.
