talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before, unafraid to reference or not reference, put it in a blender, shit on it, vomit on it, eat it, give birth to it

Gene Kelly performing the title song in “Singin’ in the Rain” (1952)
As Kelly recalled, he approached the performance by tapping into his inner child:
“The whole thing had to be done like a child in a state of euphoria,” he said. “Your mother says, 'Don't jump in the puddles.' (We) wanted to do that all our lives. The guy was so much in love, he did it.”

Michael is with Christina Saffran, and Randy Rogel during Paper Mill Playhouse’s 1994 production of Singin’ in the Rain!  Michael quoted in "Paper Mill Playhouse: The Life of a Theatre": "Never in my whole career have I experienced anything quite so thrilling and invigorating as the rain sequence in Singin' in the Rain. This truly theatrical moment was a twofold gift: First, to have the opportunity to recreate such a memorable moment out of one of the greatest MGM musicals, one designed, as always, in the inevitable Paper Mill fashion - breathtakingly beautiful. Michael's set, Tim's lighting, and Gregg's clothes thoroughly transported me back to the decadent elegance of early Hollywood. Second, after the sheer physical endurance required to perform that first act - a marathon that has proved to be the greatest challenge I've ever had to face - how appreciative I was to cool off under the torrential downpour of a well-placed water spout. Except for the occasional bad behavior of a certain black umbrella, the number went off without a hitch, an amazing feat considering how complicated it was. Once again, I praise the incredible crew of the Paper Mill whose technical and emotional support, not to mention a good drying off each night, gave me seven weeks of absolute bliss."

Singin’ in the Rain (Cinema music)

Famous Actor: The song that made Fred Astaire popular. In fact, when I saw him dancing so lively in the rain, I couldn't help but be surprised. This kind of cheerfulness is something that Japanese people cannot possess. Civilization gap?

名優:フレッド・アステアの人気を決定付けた曲。実際、彼が雨のなかで溌剌と踊っている姿を見た時には、新鮮な驚きを禁じ得なかった。このような陽気さは、日本人には持ちえないものである。文明のギャップ?

Don (Gene Kelly) finds out Lina (Jean Hagan) got Kathy (Debbie Reynolds) fired because he “liked her” while they film their last silent movie romantic scene
“Oh Donnie. You couldn’t kiss me like that and not mean it.”
“Meet the greatest actor in the world. I’d rather kiss a tarantula”
“You don’t mean that”
“I don’t? Hey Joe! Bring me a tarantula”

Alright list of my favorite ace head-canons, part 2:
- Bruce Banner from the mcu
He wears a purple shirt it’s pretty much canon at this point. And it never felt like he had any sexual chemistry with Natasha, even though everyone else did.
- Irene and Belinda from Malory Towers.
If they’re not ace lesbians I don’t know who is
- professor calculus from tintin. I will also accept him being bi or both but there’s a man who owns Oscar Wilde’s complete works if I’ve ever seen one
- Cosmo from Singin’ in the Rain. Now there’s an ace biro poly man in a throuple if ever seen one. He even wears a rainbow tie at one point. (Which was probably before rainbows symbolized the community but still) And yeah. I’m gonna call it and say he’s queer coded.
- Wooster from Jeeves and Wooster. You know it’s true. He just is. And hopelessly in love with his gentleman’s gentleman, but that’s a headcanon for another day
- all redwall moles. Minus Eggburt in the Bellmaker. He’s as gay as the day is long
- Boromir from Lord of the Rings, because I really like it and also because i enjoy watching the allos get mad
- Legolas also from lotr, because people portraying him as a helpless baby who just wants to get railed makes me wildly uncomfortable. Seriously, neither the books nor the movies support this. You know he can do other things right? Y’all are creeping me out and your allosexual Legolas privileges have been revoked.
- and hell, why not Aragorn too? Now there’s a man who’d like to hold my hand but not do anything further
