Labyrinth is one of my favourite films ever. I never get bored of it. I love that one of its message's is never let go of childish things or friendships. Never be ashamed of what they meant to you as you get older.

Inktober day 30: nightfall
I like the idea of them putting up plays in the park together and then rushing home because Sarah's late again <3

Thames Con's Labyrinth Experience is happening this weekend, I'm sadly not able to attend as the trek from Canada to the UK is just a bit outside my budget... so I figured I would send a few plush friends to attend in my place!
Earlier this year I made a set of Labyrinth plush toys and shipped them across the ocean from Canada to the UK, I didn't think to snap a few pictures of them before I sent them on their travels so here's a photoshoot I did with my personal set that I made a few years ago. I sent the new plush toys with the intention that they might be given away as prizes at the event so I hope that the Ludo, Firey, and Didymus find themselves a good home! If anyone attending sees my plush toys enjoying themselves at the event I would love to see a picture of them! I so wish I could be there in person but at the very least I feel better knowing something I made will be part of the magic for the lucky folks who are able to attend.
I have tutorials on how I made these plush toys up on my wordpress blog here, for anyone interested!

'Jim Henson & Labyrinth', 'Starlog'', #109, Aug. 1986
”Brian Froud [conceptual designer on both movies] and I started considering Labyrinth as The Dark Crystal opened," Henson explains, ' 'because we decided not to think about another film until Crystal did open. We wanted to do a lighter weight picture, with more of a sense of comedy since Dark Crystal got kind of heavy— heavier than we had intended."

Labyrinth Clue:
[All of them standing around a dead goblin]
Jareth: who broke it?…I’m not mad, I just wanna know.
Sarah: I did, I broke-
Jareth: No. no you you didn’t. Didymus?
Sir Didymus: Don’t behold at me! behold at Hoggle!
Hoggle: What? I didn't break it!
Sir Didymus: I understand you not. Yond's weird. How'd thee coequal knoweth t wast broken?
Hoggle: Because it’s sitting right in front of us and it’s broken.
Sir Didymus: Suspicious…
Hoggle: No! it’s not!
The Worm: If it matters - probably not - but Ludo was the last one to see them.
Ludo: Liar! Ludo no break!
The Worm: Oh really? Then what were you doing outside the goblin city earlier?
Ludo: Ludo play with chickens! All know that!
Sarah: Ok, ok! Let’s not fight! I broke it, let me bury them, Jareth-
Jareth angrier: No! Who broke it??!
Hoggle: …
Hoggle: Your majesty? The wise one’s been awful quiet
The Wise one’s hat: oh REALLY?!
Hoggle: Yeah really!
The Wise One’s hat: Oh my god!
[They all start arguing]
Jareth later to his goblins: I killed him. He bit my hand so I kicked him out the window. I predict ten minutes from now they'll be at each other's throats with war paint on their faces and a pig head on a stick.
Jareth: Good. It was getting a little chummy around here.

the labyrinth (1986)
one movie i feel every should watch AT THE VERY LEAST once in their lives. it perfectly encapsulates the (dark) fantasy genre of film prevalent during the 80s. from the characters to the whole concept, it is a very interesting watch. the whole feel of the film is immensely mystical and beautiful. i feel like it also combines both psychological aspects with vv catchy songs creating a pleasing contrast in my opinion. please watch if u haven’t !
