lancelot and leon share the braincell. they occasionally give it to the others and let them take turns using it. elyan gets it most often, merlin gets it second often. percival gets it here and there but doesn’t know what to do with it so leon and lancelot only give it to him on slow days and when they’re bored and wanna have fun. arthur only gets it when merlin isn’t around bc if merlin is around then his mere presence is enough to cancel it out. gwaine refuses to take it.

The King his Knights and Merlin are out on a minor quest but on the way they help a wise old lady and as thanks she let's them all ask one question. Arthur asks if he will be a good King, that's easy she says it's prophesized he will bring the golden age of Albion. The others go asking about the future, how their lives will be, she answers. Until one asks "who is the most powerful of Arthur's Round Table?" Everyone is interested now, is it Arthur himself he is King after all? Percival, he is strong maybe that makes him powerful? Gaius, after all he is the oldest and knowledge is power? But she just smiles "to be powerful is to be influential, or to have great power. Now all of you are influential but to also have great power, to be able to influence all of you and have the power to make sure that influence is fulfilled. Would go to one" everyone's surprised she points to Merlin.

For the record, book 3 Marak doesn't exist in my head. If I got to him in book 1, he'd never be allowed near a human child under the age of 12, so none of this would've happened. Who let this man help raise not one, but two human girls from infancy? No sir. Absolutely not. You don't know shit about human child psychology.

Maybe it's just my anxiety brain, but the plot point of person a doesn't come to important agreed upon meeting/event and person b immediately jumping to the conclusion that they have been abandoned by person a instead of going "oh no, something terrible must have happened to them" is so not relatable to me. It makes for delicious angst and conflict of course, so I'm not complaining, but I'm also yelling at some blorbos in my brain for being so dumb.
