#Sister of Arendelle Holding Hands

Hi, I'm genuinely curious why you have called Elsa "abusive sister"? What's your, as an Anna lover, main take on Elsa?
Context for my comment.
Realizing on a reread that you asked for an Elsa analysis and I kinda made it an Anna one. They're entwined, though -- it's hard to talk about one without the other, especially when the first question is why call Elsa abusive? The short answer is I was being very reductive in that post for the sake of brevity. The tag directly after is me saying in a quick, off-the-cuff way that Elsa's not wrong:
#see: Anna of Arendelle #suffering is good! #filial loyalty should trump logic! #dying for your abusive sister is good! #Elsa obviously has her own issues but from Anna’s pov?
Believe me when I say that I can go full Elsa apologist very easily. Send a second ask if you want to see that, actually, I do have a lot of Elsa Thoughts. The thing is, there's a ton of Elsa fans out there and Anna tends to get the short end of the stick, despite being - in my opinion - the better sister, and not for nothing, but I think Elsa would agree that Anna is a better sister.
The tragedy of Frozen is that Elsa isn't wrong to isolate herself and try to keep Anna safe, and Anna isn't wrong to sense her sister still wants to connect and try to make it happen. That's what makes it tragic. Anna's desperate attempt to reconnect at the party is what makes Elsa balk, and Elsa balking is what pushes Anna away into the arms of someone who isn't afraid to tell her she's wanted. (Of course, Hans isn't afraid because wanting her won't kill her the way Elsa is pretty sure wanting a sister will.) Anna coming back from a whirlwind of having fun - having a friend - for the first time in years and telling Elsa she wants to get married freaks Elsa out, because Elsa's about to lose her sister to some stranger! Elsa tries to get the situation under control the only way she knows, which is to get away from everyone and self-soothe, but Anna is fed up and presses the argument then and there, which sets Elsa off and reveals the depths of Elsa's problems.
But critically, Anna's not wrong, and she's not stupid.
A major theme of Anna's character is that nothing is explained to her, and she is mistreated as a result. We, the audience, understand why Elsa locks herself away. We, the audience, skip over literal years of isolation for Anna in a three-minute song. We, the audience, see Elsa's anxiety when alone or with her parents. Anna, on the other hand ... to pull from the musical, which I admittedly like more than the film:
ANNA: ... Truth is, I never knew why my parents ordered the gates shut, why the celebrations ended, or why Elsa stopped talking to me. All I ever knew was, I missed my sister. I spent years trying to figure out what I did. I begged to know, to understand, but all my parents would say is, it’s for the best.
Anna blames herself for the fact Elsa locked herself away, and Elsa does not, as far as we see in the story, disabuse Anna of that notion. Sure, you can argue it happens offscreen somewhere after the show, and I'd agree that the arc of Frozen means the girls are going to sit down and realize their parents kinda sucked and gave them both trauma, but that happens after. (Frozen 2 doesn't exist in my head. I don't hold with anything that doesn't admit their parents fucked up big time. The best you can say is they tried to help their daughter, and that is tragic too, that nobody was able to help them do it.)
From Elsa's point of view, she ran away and Anna followed - against Elsa's advice and orders. Elsa felt confident enough to let her sister in and talk about things -- and Elsa couldn't handle it. She shot Anna in the heart as a result, putting them exactly back where they were when they were kids and Elsa was the biggest danger to her sister. Elsa was right to be afraid of intimacy, she was right to protect Anna from herself. The biggest danger to Anna was always Elsa.
This verges into Hans apologism, but we're focused on the girls so stick with me: Elsa literally kills Anna in the story. Hans is a big asshole about this little, "If only there was someone out there who loved you," speech, but he didn't kill Anna. Elsa did. If Elsa hadn't shot Anna in the heart, Anna would not be dying now. If Hans was going to kill Anna, that would've been the place -- and instead he leaves her to die of the wound her sister gave her.
So how does Anna feel in that moment? Narratively, we focus on the fact Hans has been the biggest dick lately, so she's heartbroken by that, but I'd posit she's been let down by the two people she thought might want her: Elsa and Hans. At this point Anna was probably thinking she could get cured and maybe that she and Hans would fix this together.
Instead, her unending faith in her sister should have brought her to this conclusion: Elsa killed her, Hans refused to save her, and they've both abandoned her for dead. In the film, Elsa - by proxy - throws Anna off a cliff right after shooting her in the heart. She could not be more clear about locking Anna out. Hans locked her in, but all to the same effect: Elsa's curse is going to kill her.
Does it really matter why Elsa cursed her?
When I say Elsa is an abusive sister, I mean that from Anna's point of view, Elsa lashes out and hurts Anna because of her own pain. We, the audience, have the benefit of knowing why - but we, the audience, also aren't feeling our fingers freeze solid as our jaw locks up with ice, so maybe we're not getting the full effect there.
Frozen's magic system is simple: magic and emotion are the same thing. (Frozen 2 do not interact.) Elsa's powers are driven by emotion, and they can be driven to great heights or great lows. The tragedy is that she doesn't learn to channel positive emotions, so she only knows fear and anxiety, which spiral out of control as those emotions always do. That fear isn't irrational - she's afraid for her sister, she's afraid for her country, she's afraid to let people down - but it is damaging and uncontrollable.
It literally kills her sister.
Anna dies, not because she threw herself under the sword and got diced, but because she turns to ice. She dies because of Elsa's curse, which ironically saves her from being killed in a bloody way. In that moment, Elsa sees her worst fears come true: she killed her sister. In the musical, she sings:
Anna? Anna - no! This is what I feared, this is why I shut you out so long ago. I'm sorry, I'm so sorry ... Look at what I've done to you.
As she realizes this, the magic begins to undo itself, not because Elsa realized the depth of her fuck up but because Anna committed an act of true love. Anna is brought back to life miraculously by her own self-sacrifice because it was pure and selfless. Which is why my final tags were:
#the narrative posits that [Anna's] suffering was good #actually. #and wanting things for herself was Bad actually
Wanting Hans, the seeming first person to value her, was wrong. Throwing herself under the sword for the sister who ignored her until she murdered her was good. In a meta sense, Anna wanting something for herself was wrong, and being blindly loyal was good. She is literally rewarded by being brought back from the dead to be a continuing loyal companion to the woman who shot her in the heart.
At the end of the day, the fact Elsa feels terrible about this both makes no difference and makes all the difference in the world. Elsa has been awful to Anna, and her being able to recognize that is what makes their relationship so compelling. The fact Elsa is also abused is important; she was locked away from society just as much! While Anna was so neglected by their parents that she spoke to paintings, Elsa was being told to just get better, keep it inside and don't freak out. Like many abused people, when Elsa grows up, she doesn't know how to form a healthy relationship at first. Her first fumbling steps end in disaster, and as musical Elsa begs:
This is all so brand new Let me first learn to crawl Before I try to walk
On one hand, that doesn't matter, because Elsa did abuse Anna for a period of time, via neglect and outright harm, up to and including murder. On the other hand, it matters more than anything, because Elsa chooses love, chooses to reconnect, finds true regret and wants to be better. Anna forgives her, because she loves her.
It's what makes the bones of this story so tragic and compelling. The love is real and the hurt is real. The difference is that both sisters choose to move past it, and I can see there being a good ending where they repair their sisterly relationship.
But for the duration of the story, and the near-decade before? Anna was abused by everyone in her family, and Elsa has to take responsibility for that before they can begin to heal.

What do you think about a Frozen x BBC Ghosts crossover ?
You dork do you have any idea how hard-- of course you know how hard it is to write that kind of crossover because you would have WRITTEN IT OTHERWISE
Anna is the one getting the gift to see the ghosts. (Kristoff and Elsa insist on saying it's a gift because she doubts at first; same mess than at the beginning of BBC Ghosts, and the ghosts want her to be their spokesperson since she's the Queen). Of course it's Anna and not Elsa getting the gift because now both sisters have superpowers and Anna is both ecstatic about it and keeps telling Elsa "How the hell did you manage to even rule with that kind of power constantly distracting you. How. The HELL." and Elsa just grins.
Somehow and because I refuse to let the wonderful idiots out of this AU, all the Button House ghosts are in the Arendelle castle. Rest assured, since Runeard died in the Enchanted Forest, he does not wander there, so it's just pureness(TM) Maybe it's an AU version of the Button House ghosts? the Captain is from the Arendelle army of the previous century? Robin is Sámi? Fanny is Agnarr's aunt? Of course there also are some old Arendelle family ghosts and most have horrible opinions (honestly due to their period) and they are constantly corrected and put in the right path by unforgiving Button House ghosts lol.
Kristanna's child sees the ghosts from the moment of birth and they all act like aunties and uncles to them YES YOU WILL HAVE TO TAKE AWAY THE BABY SEES GHOSTS TROPE OUT OF MY BARE HANDS
Elsa is lowkey jealous she can't sees the ghosts because come on they hold so many explanations about the past and they are basically walking history and Anna never asks them about specific questions because Elsa's questions can be boring lol At some point Elsa sprays ice on a mirror and on the ghosts for them to communicate and for her to see them but it obviously doesn't work and they are offended because of the whole "Ghosts are cold" cliché and she's devastated about her idea for a week lol (despite Anna's reassurance that they're just pulling her leg)
Anna and Elsa are sad to realize that they don't get to communicate with their parents since they died at sea and not in the castle. Yeah I'm gonna end on that horrible note kfdhgjfhdjkghd
Send me a Frozen AU and I'll write 5 headcanons about it!

Fanfic snippet - Nothing connects people better than a shared cell
To clarify, they are all in jail for the night, because things went south for everyone involved. For Layla and Hans it is nothing new, Kristoff is just a little stressed but Elsa and Anna are terrified, especially since Elsa is not able to just freeze everyone.
After brave Hetician's guards left the room, cursing both drunk students and damned spies, a very awkward silence developed.
"So... not everything went according to plan?" asked Hans, trying to contain the mischievous smile.
"Silence." Elsa advised, propping her head againt the cold, stone wall and, in the same time, holding Anna.
They were both in a disastrous state. For the last six hours the Heticians were grilling them both about being Nadernian's spies. Everytime they hoped they finally believe that it is all just a crazy amount of fatal coincidences, some of them just presented yet another one of "proofs" for their "crimes". At one point it was clear that Anna is starting to lose faith in her own words so Elsa decided to help - as soon as someone has finally patched up her arms. She was trying to sound stern and even a little mean, but she was exhausted and her whole body ached. As a result, no one has believed that they are, in fact, Arendellian queens. But, of course, everyone has been convinced that there may be something wrong with their heads. The only remaining question was - are they just crazy or is it just a decoy to avoid the responsibility for spying for Nadernia?
"Anna?" Kristoff tried to reach his wife's hand through the bars of his cell. "Is everything alright?".
"No, nothing is alright!" She sobbed, totally done with everything. Two rivers of tears just went down her cheeks. Her sister hugged her tighter. "We don't have any way to go back to Arendelle, and maybe that's for the best, because apparently our kingdom is better off governing itself, without our presence, and... And we've just murdered our own consul!"
"You what?!" Yelled three voices unisono.
"We showed him Olaf and he had a heart attack" Elsa explained. "And we did that because wanted to show that we are what we are".
"And... where is Olaf?" Kristoff asked.
"I think in some storage for material evidences" Anna responded. "It was so hot in the embassy he melted... And now we are carrying him around in a bucket".
Hans made sure to remember it, just in case.
"And where is Sven?" Asked Elsa, wiping her sister's face. "And seriously, Kristoff, what have you done?! Why are you here?!"
"Sven is safe and in good hands, I will pick him up tomorrow morning." He assured.
"No, you won't." Hans cut in immediately.
"Why?"
"Because we will all be there for at least fourty eight hours".
"What?!"
"Well, you, Layla and me. I don't know about them. I would need some details".
"We are going to be hanged!" Anna sobbed.
"What?!" Kristoff's face went completely white. "What for? The consul? You told us it was an accident!"
"I know, but then everything became so complicated...!"
It was obvious they won't get anything meaningful from trembling and crying Anna. Elsa was mainly busy with comforting her. Layla decided that they could use some lighter topics.
"Just as a side question... what, for all the seven seas, are you two wearing?"
It was just in this moment when Kristoff and Hans noticed the peculiar clothing.
"Ah... it's from a homeless shelter" Elsa murmured.
"From where?" Kristoff's eyes were just getting bigger and bigger.
"Well, in our clothes no one wanted to take us seriously... well. In those it was even worse".
"Of course it was, you look like you ran away from some circus!" Layla was giggling uncontrolably now. "You should have come to me, in my chests we would find something better".
Elsa looked at her discreetly. She had her doubts if any piece of Layla's - a head shorter but much wider in her chest - clothing would fit any of them.
"Well, maybe it wouldn't be suitable for royality, I admit, but it would still be better than... this". She was still laughing. "The nuns didn't like you two very much, I assume?".
"They... told us we look like seamstresses".
"Yeaaa, right. I can assure you, the seamstresses have their clothes much better matched!"
Anna and Elsa managed to smile a little. The younger one even stopped sobbing.
"Alright... but seriously, Kristoff?" She looked at her husband, eyes still wet and puffy but somewhat brighter. "What are you in here for?"
"Well, officialy for excessive drinking and wandering after curfew" he responded, a little red on his face and completely, utterly sober.
"Excessive drinking?!"
"Well... um... We were singing quite loudly and those nice guards thought..."
"With Hans?!"
"Oh, excuse me!" Said prince interrupted. "Husbands and reindeers abandoned in the docks are free to take for anyone after two hours! It isn't me who's making the rules!"
"That's true, that's the law!" Layla backed him up.
"Wasn't he going to the Library?!"
"I was, but it didn't go particulary well". Hans had no intention of losing his cool. "Terrible queues, horrible waiting time. We just took a small part of what I wanted. Those available to take immediately. Maybe I will go back when they will let us go from there. Anyway, Kristoff was with me, because he was hoping to meet you there, since you intended to see the Library too, right? Well, nevermind. After we were sent away with almost nothing, we went sightseeing. Beautiful city, awful University, wouldn't recommend."
"Yes, "awful University", but you would very much like to go to this conference, am I right?" Kristoff decided that since captain Westergaard started to talk himself, he may as well add something. Apparently, that part was not top secret.
"Of course I would! I have to go back and borrow some of those posters. It would make a great souvenir. Maybe I will take two and send one of them to the Isles. I wonder how they will like the topics of those lectures. I would die to see Caleb trying to justify some of his border incidents to them. And to see him promising he will lead us into the modern times". He couldn't hold his laugh anymore. "Seriously, I can't believe anyone would have such hopes for any of us, anytime!"
"What is he talking about...?" Anna slightly tilted her head.
Kristoff smiled and started to talk. He described everything, up to the moment when Hans decided he wants those books right there, right now and therefore they are going to go with breaking and entering into the Library. Before he could get onto this, the prince decided to continue for him and started to do what he could do the best - flipping the script.
"We've met Layla in the town, so it would be rude not to say hi..."
"And I know just the right place to do so!" Layla chimmed in immediately to cover for them.
"Exactly. We went and in the bar there were sailors from Heticia's navy. They were singing, so we joined them... We didn't even drink that much, but when we've decided to go back to the ship, we were still singing... We forgot the city is under martial law and even if it wasn't, we still should've have a light with us. So, that happened. My fault."
"And mine!" Layla admitted and tried to make the most regretful and miserable face possible. It didn't go well. "I am so very, very sorry for demoralizing your husband, Ma'am Highness". She knelt before Anna. "Here is my head. You can smack me in it, but I would prefer it to stay on my neck, if you may".
At this point Anna was completely comforted and amused already. She wiped the last tears away.
"I think... In the name of the kingdom of Arendelle I can forgive this faux pax". She said, pretending to be serious. "As long as it is the last time!".
"Oh, of course!" Layla didn't even bother to pretend she didn't just winked at Kristoff. He also laughed, feeling a little more confident, despite circumstances.

Heart beats fast
She stood there scared yet hopeful as he sat on the sill of her open window holding out his hand where a snowflake was floating. His vibrant blue eyes were kind and shining with laughter and joy. Her heart we beating loud and clear in her chest and she feared he could hear her. But seeing him smile she suddenly felt comforted. Hearing him speak made her smile the brightest she had in her life. "I'm just like you."
His name was Jack Frost, and he was the Spirit of Winter. But that did not matter to her. Nor did it matter that no one else could see him. She knew she could, and she knew why. For so long she had wanted to believe that there was someone else out there. Someone who would have the same powers as her. Someone who would teach her to control them. So when she read the myth on Jack Frost, the Spirit of Winter, one who had control over snow and ice just as she had, Elsa had dared to hope and believe. She had carried that belief with her since childhood, even when she turned seventeen, and was a year away from becoming an adult. She saw him peering through her window, as she amused herself with a few dancing snowflakes, and had cried out in shock. He had been surprised at her crying out, though later he had whooped with joy. Because her fright meant she could see him, which no one had ever done before.
It was the beginning of a lifelong friendship.
                                            ————————–
Colors and promises
Blue was happiness for her.
Amber was anger.
Purple when she was sad.
Red when she was frightened.
But what about White?
Pure white ice was certainly new. And as she gazed at the little figurine of Jack she frowned in thought. They had always been blue in the past. Why White now?
Maybe because she had made that little figurine while making a promise?
A promise that she would fulfill till the end of time.
Promise that she would never forget about him.
Ever.
                                            ————————–
How to be brave?
"I can't do it Jack!" Her voice was broken, a sob catching in her throat as she fell to her knees in front of her friend, her arms wrapped around herself in an attempt to feel less alone. Less frightened. But with her parents gone, the room completely frozen because of her powers, her sister having just left her, after sitting for hours against the door, Elsa had never felt so alone.
"Yes you can! Elsa look at me!" Warm hands cupped her cheeks tilting her head to look in her eyes. His hands looked cold but to her they were warm. "You're stronger and braver then you will ever know." He whispered, his voice strong." You will rule Arendelle. The fairest Queen the world has ever known. Brave and strong for her people even when she had just lost her own parents."
                                            ————————–
How can I love when I'm afraid to fall?
All her life she had lived afraid. Afraid for the people around her. Afraid for her parents. Her sister. Afraid of herself. Her powers. The one thing that set her apart from all those around her. But she only saw that as a bad thing. It made her feel like an outsider. They made her feel unsafe. They could be destructible. They could be horrifying. Which was why she was so afraid when she found the true extent of her feelings for Jack.
                                            ————————–
But watching you stand alone,
Sometimes she envied Jack. He had complete control over his abilities. He never made a single mistake. He never let his emotions rule him, which was what she had always done. But right then watching him stand on the balcony of her deceased father's study, she could not help but wish that he may have someone he would love. Like she loved him.
All of my doubt suddenly goes away somehow
                                            ————————–
He took away all insecurities. He took away every bad feeling. He was her friend. He vowed to help her no matter what she went through. She had accepted it graciously, as a future Queen should, but as soon as he had thrown a snowball at her she had quickly burst into laughter tackling him to the ground like she used to do when she was still a teenager.
                                            ————————–
Time stands still
With him it felt like she could do anything. He brought the laughter she had never thought herself to be capable of. With him time simply stood still. With him everything made sense. Her powers. Her smiles. Her heart. And her love for him.
And when he gave her the necklace as a gift for her coronation Elsa could not help the smile as she clasped the snowflake shaped necklace around her neck. And as it rested beneath the fabric of her coronation gown, cool against her otherwise trembling body it gave her all the strength she needed to believe in herself, even for a little while, as she felt the crown being placed upon her head.
                                            ————————–
Beauty in all she is
Elsa tilted her head watching Jack curiously as his cheeks colored. His normally pale face was red, or rather his cheeks were, and for reasons unknown to her, he would not meet her eye. He had been acting weird. Perhaps it was the fact she had left and was now living in a palace she made herself? Or maybe her dress, it was rather strange, but she liked it. Or perhaps the necklace he gave her which still hung around her neck. And when he complimented her, her own cheeks flushed her heart beating fast and loud in her chest, as she smiled shyly.
                                            ————————–
I will be brave
"Promise me!" Jack exclaimed his voice pleading as he knelt in front of her. Elsa sobbed loudly as she shook her head.
"I can't Jack." She whimpered her arms hugging her chest as her legs trembled underneath her. Suddenly she felt his arms wrap themselves around her pulling her close, hugging her tightly. Elsa stiffened at the contact, having not touched another human in so long.
But as she felt him drop a soft kiss on top of her head her erratic breathing began to steady, her sobs quietening as she gripped the front of his shirt tightly afraid he would disappear or worse, that he would recoil from her. Or that she would hurt him like she did her sister. But Jack did nothing of the sort. Instead he simply pulled her closer.
"Promise me you will be brave Elsa." She nodded. "I will be brave Jack." Neither of them noticed how the palace around them seemed to glow white.
                                            ————————–
I will not let anything take away
"No!" The scream was filled with anguish. One that ripped through the very souls of those who heard it. No one knew why she shouted, they were too busy in trying to bring her down. Her. The monster. Jack had tried to protect her. But he had not seen the sword coming. He had not seen it as it descended on top of his head knocking him out. It was an accident on the guard's part. For he could not see Jack. No one could. But seeing him lie on the floor like that, unmoving and unresponsive she felt anger rising from within her. An anger that frightened her yet gave her strength to attack the guards in retaliation. She was not letting them take away the only best thing that could ever have happened to her.
                                            ————————–
What's standing in front of me
"Jack!" The cry tore past her lips the second she stepped back into the palace. Her heart was lighter. She felt free. The kingdom was once again as it was before. She had made amends with her sister. Hans was behind bars and could not hurt anyone ever again. But she had been thinking about him. Had been thinking of breaking out of prison to see him and rescue him. Make sure he was alright. She had only just climbed the stairs of the palace when she had seen him exit through the window above her. He had stopped in mid-air staring down at her as if she were some form of illusion. But suddenly she felt his arms around her, the ground falling away from her feet as Jack hugged her, the wind lifting them away. Was it Jack's command or perhaps a little trick on the wind's part. Elsa did not know neither did she care. Laughing, tears of relief shining in her eyes she hugged him back, her heart bursting with happiness.
                                            ————————–
Every breath
How could it have gone so? As the fire surrounded her from all sides, Elsa clasped the small child in her arms, trying to keep her safe. She was hurt. Her head was spinning and she had inhaled too much smoke. Her powers would not come to her strong enough to stop the fire. The Queen was already too injured and exhausted for that. She knew she would not be able to last long, but maybe the child could. She glanced at the child. Calling up on the last of her strength she created a cradle of ice. Placing the child in the cradle she kissed her forehead, as the child looked up at her wide blue eyes. Eyes a lot like her own.
"Be safe little niece. Keep watch over your mother and father for me." She cooed, letting the baby grip her much bigger finger. Waving her hand she inscribed one last message to her sister. A message in ice, kissed the baby's head once more, whispered a blessing, before sending the baby sliding down the message chute, it being only big enough to fit the cradle which was the size of the child. The fire around her was getting intense, it was licking at the hem of her dress, now destroyed from smoke. Suddenly the roof above her creaked. Blue eyes shot heavenward just in time to see the ceiling collapse. Wood and debris rained down her weak body. Elsa collapsed, crying out as a rather heavy beam landed on her leg.
                                            ————————–
Every hour has come to this
Instincts kicked in, and she tried her best to push it off but what little strength she had was leaving her and the smoke was making her vision hazy not to mention the smoke inside her. It was hopeless she knew it now. As she lost the last of her strength Elsa lay on the ground, smoke filling her lungs, searing heat all around her, her eyes turned heavenward, her thoughts turning to her sister, her brother in law, Olaf and finally Jack. A smile crept on her face as she thought of the boy with silver hair and eyes so blue they rivaled her own. A trembling hand slowly lifted to pull at the necklace resting against her neck, her fingers curled around it as tightly as they could given her limited strength. It unclasped from around her neck. It was cool despite the searing heat around her. Slowly her eyes started to close, her vision nearly obscured from the smoke. "I love you Jack Frost." She whispered to the wind, hoping it would carry her message to the Spirit of Winter.
Her eyes were on the full moon as it shone through the gaping hole. It was the last thing she saw. The last source of comfort. And then everything went black.
As her body stilled her hand fell at her side the necklace slipping from between her slender fingers.
                                            ————————–
One step closer
I have died every day waiting for you Darling, don't be afraid I have loved you For a thousand years I'll love you for a thousand more
                                            ————————–
Darkness. That's the first thing she remembered. It was dark, and it was cold. And she was scared. Slowly blue eyes blinked open. They were bright yet they held fear in them. Fear of the unknown. But, then she saw the moon. It was so big and it was so bright. Her chest heaved as she took a deep shuddering breath, feeling it relax her tense muscles. She lifted her head, pressing a hand against it as she sat up, her movements slow and languid, her blue eyes never leaving the beautiful bright body that shone from the heavens. It seemed to chase the darkness away. And when it did, she wasn't scared anymore.
A small almost shy smile made its way to her face as she pushed herself to her feet. Her gaze turned to take in her surroundings. Everything was black and burned. Had there been a fire? If so why was she still alive? Why she was there and what she was meant to do, she didn't know. But then she saw something. Lying on the ground was what looked like a snowflake. She stepped forward, reaching down to inspect further. No. Not a snowflake. A necklace. With the chain broken. Her hand flew to her throat, finding it bare. Picking up the piece of jewel she stood up, not noting how she stood, poised and graceful. Her finger touched the snowflake and a name rang in her mind. One that made her heart speed up and her eyes widen in surprise.
Jack Frost.
Was that why she was here? Her gaze turned to the moon once more. She voiced her thoughts but received no answer. Instead the moon shone brighter, the light falling on a particular spot. She was hesitant for a second before walking towards the lit pathway. As she walked, she felt as if someone was whispering in her ears. The voice was calm and loving. Protective even. It kept saying a name. Elsa. Over and over. Was that her name? A smile pulled at her lips and then suddenly there was a shower of snowflakes all around her. She gasped, and the snowflakes stopped moving. Was she the one who caused these snowflakes? Her gaze turned to the moon before dropping to the necklace. Her lips pursed in a determined manner, she gripped the broken chain of the necklace, brow furrowed in concentration. A surprised gasp escaped her lips as there was a slight glow emanating from her hands, and the chain resealed.
Her name was Elsa, the Snow Queen. How did she know that? The moon told her so. But that was all he ever told her. And that was a long, long time ago.
One step closer

Anna had been told that Elsa was dangerous, staying behind as Hans led a charge to find her. She was told that Elsa was killed when she fought back in her ice castle. She mourned, sobbing in Han's arms for weeks on end. Anna was heartbroken by the loss, but she accepted Han's courtship. She let him stay in the castle, knowing that he needed a place to stay and Anna needed the comfort he provided. But, out of her sister's memory, Anna put their engagement on hold. She wanted to spend time with Hans, wanting to take things slow.
Elsa was taken to the deepest recesses of the dungeon, hidden away from all of Arendelle. She was gagged and the power-blocking gloves were put on her hands to keep her from using her powers. Elsa had a collar around her neck with cuffs around her wrists and ankles, allowing her to be positioned however Hans pleased. She was currently on her stomach, her wrists chained to her ankles with her ass in the air to display her holes for him. Over the past couple of weeks, Hans had been visiting Elsa whenever Anna refused him which was often. Elsa heard his quick footsteps approaching, knowing that he was angry.

How Restlessly the Stars Do Gleam - Chapter 10: Lost and Found
Story summary: After the Evil Queen kidnaps and curses her family and destroys her kingdom, Princess Emma is on the run. She boards a merchant vessel with her godmother Red, and they intend to travel to Arendelle to seek magical assistance. But when Emma discovers the dark truths aboard Captain Silver's ship, she must put a stop to his cruelty and rescue the Jones brothers from their enslavement. Emma has to find her own allies and face her fears in order to save her parents, her brother Leo, and her kingdom.
Read it on AO3 from the beginning here.
You can find chapter 10 below the cut or on AO3.
There was a struggle of limbs, frantic and desperate but strong as Emma was pushed away but she pushed right back, rage and pent up aggression and months of no sleep, of living on the edge of her own blade—it all vanished when her opponent cried out.
Emma hesitated, just long enough for her to be thrown back, and she landed a few feet away, leaves and twigs and rocks digging into her palms that were braced behind her, but she didn’t care about that now.
The man—no, boy—surged forward, intending to strike at her, but she caught him easily, she’d done it a thousand times before, and her arms wrapped around him, bringing him to her chest, resting over her heart just where she’d felt him all this time.
“Leo,” she choked out, and he froze, no longer attempting to escape her embrace.
It was dark enough that he had to squint as he pulled back just enough to look at her, but he knew. She smelled like the forest and the sea, but also like buttercups, the ones she’d had father fill their garden with because she loved them so much. Months had passed, he had changed so much—but none of that really mattered. She was still his sister. He was still her brother.
“Emma!” he cried, his arms becoming a vice around her, and for a second, he was terrified to let go. Terrified it was all just a dream, and he would wake to his painful reality, no idea where she was.
The brush she’d leapt over rustled, a preamble to the appearance of one very alarmed Killian Jones, his sword brandished in search of danger. “Swan!”
Emma scrambled to her feet, bringing her brother with her. Tears crept down her cheeks, but they were so unlike the ones she’d spilled in the last months. “Put your sword down,” she practically admonished. “My brother won’t harm me,” she added, her words tripping on the laughter that fell from her lips.
“Your brother?” Killian repeated, his sword slipping.
She turned back to Leo, her hands moving to hold his face then his shoulders as she tried to inspect him in the darkness. “You’re okay,” she breathed, “gods, I cannot believe you’re okay!”
“I could say the same to you,” he said, pulling her in for another hug. “I was so relieved you were out for your ride—what that bitch would’ve done if she’d found you…”
“She did,” Emma told him. After a moment, she shook her head. “It doesn’t matter. She didn’t curse me, not like our parents, or you—your curse?”
Leo resisted the urge to curl in on himself. He wanted to lie, save her from the gruesome truth, but he sighed. He’d never successfully lied to his sister, he was certain he wouldn’t be capable of it now. “It’s bad, but I’m managing.”
She took a step back, her hands catching his. There was so much they had to say, to catch up on. Her mind reeled, a mess of wishes and wants and fear—she was afraid to ask, afraid to find out. But some things, she had to know. Whether or not she wanted to. “Please, tell me you haven’t been alone all this time.”
A smile teased his lips. “No, I’ve found some allies. They should be along any minute…but gods, what is that fantastic smell?”
Emma laughed, reaching up to wipe the tears from her cheeks, pulling her brother’s hand along with because she couldn’t even consider letting go. “Dinner. You must be starving,” she said, worried again. She kept swinging from one end to the other—deliriously happy that he was okay, that they’d found each other, then deeply concerned for his well-being, guilty for not taking care of him all this time. It was giving her a headache.
She glanced back to find Killian predictably standing guard, far enough to allow them some privacy, close enough to be ready at hand if danger appeared.
“I’m surprised any of our knights escaped,” Leo said, his eyes on Killian.
“They didn’t,” Emma replied. “He’s…a new ally. A sailor who has joined our cause.”
Leo’s eyebrows were high on his forehead when she tore her gaze from their protector. “Hm,” he sounded, and though he hadn’t technically said anything, his tone was very revealing.
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Nothing at all,” Leo said, his voice a bit too high. “Not a single thing.”
“Leo,” she snapped.
A mischievous grin broke out across his face. “Nothing. He just seems very dedicated to the cause.”
She smacked his arm, a gesture she’d done for years, but everything about their situation swirled within her once more, and she couldn’t stop herself from hugging him again. Leo didn’t seem to mind.
“Leo!” a voice echoed from deeper in the woods, and though Emma had tensed, Leo’s expression made her drop her stance.
“I’m over here!” he called back.
The noise had caused Killian to remove the distance he’d kept between them, and though he did not raise his sword, his hand rested firmly at the hilt. Emma met his gaze, and they exchanged a nod.
A woman appeared first, scolding Leo for not waiting for them, but her censure lacked any real bite. She froze when she saw Emma, fear glinting in her kind eyes. “Leo?”
“It’s okay,” he assured her, “Belle, this is my sister. This is Emma.”
“You found Emma?” The question came from another boy her brother’s age as he came to stand beside Belle.
“Well, she found me,” Leo said, nudging her with his elbow. “She’ll always find me.”
Emma resisted the urge to smack him again. “Our mother would be ashamed of you,” she teased. “Your etiquette has become positively disgraceful.”
Leo’s posture straightened, his chest puffing out. “Please accept my deepest apologies. Princess Emma, would you allow me to introduce you to Sir Roland.” This time, she did smack him. “I can never win with you,” he whined. “And besides, you have yet to introduce me to your personal knight.”
Emma flushed, stepping to the side, revealing the man in question. “Leo, this is Killian Jones.”
Killian stiffened, bowing deeply. “Your Highness.”
Leo scrunched up his nose. “Oh gods,” he grumbled, “don’t even start with the titles.”
“Don’t be so rude,” Emma snapped.
“I’m not—how is that—” he cut himself off, shaking his head in exasperation though a genuine smile played at his lips. “Fine. Hello Killian Jones, please call me Leo.” He held out a hand.
Killian hesitated only a moment before taking it. “Your sister has told me quite a bit about you,” he said, working hard to sound casual.
“Don’t believe a single word of it,” Leo warned. “I’ve never done anything wrong in my entire life.”
Roland scoffed. “Yes, because that sounds believable.”
Leo ignored that, turning back to his sister. “Hey, didn’t you say something about dinner?”
Emma laughed, nodding towards their camp. “Come on, we’ve got some catching up to do.”
“Wait,” Roland said, his eyes wide as he stared ahead. Belle caught his hand, worry written across her features.
“What’s wrong?” Leo asked, wasting no time moving to his friend’s side, a hand on his shoulder. “Roland? What is it?”
Roland shook his head, unable to tear his gaze away. “My father…”
Emma may have been sleep deprived, emotionally and physically drained, and potentially on the brink of collapse, but her mind snapped the pieces together. “Robin,” she breathed.
Roland took off, leaping over the stream and heading straight for their camp.
Leo made to follow, though he couldn’t seem to get himself to take more than two or three steps from his sister. He glanced back at her, seeing beyond her tear-streaked cheeks that shone in the limited light of the crescent moon. Beneath her joy lay deeply set sorrow in her pale skin; exhaustion carved shadows beneath her eyes—they were jade, like their mother’s, but he couldn’t see the color in the darkness. He wondered how long it would be before he could (if he ever could).
“Seems ours isn’t the only happy reunion tonight,” he said, smiling when she did. It made warmth spread across his chest, settling on his heart.
“Not by a long shot,” a voice called, though this one had come from camp. Red stepped through the brush, her teeth gleaming with her wide grin, and it was only a moment before Leo was wrapped in her embrace. “We’ve missed you, kid,” she told him, not wasting the opportunity to muss his hair.
He groaned at her, ducking out of her arms and backing away, his hands working to fix the disheveled mess. “Red,” he whined, making his sister laugh.
Emma nudged him until he turned to face her, and she took it upon herself to arrange his hair—in that moment, just for the span of a single breath, her mother was there. She lived in the way Emma held her arms, how she curved a hand along Leo’s cheek. It was Snow White’s tender smile that tugged on her lips, it was her determined tenderness that carded Emma’s fingers through his hair.
Red saw it in her, too. Emma could see the recognition glinting in her gaze when her eyes flitted to her godmother, as she watched over them with all the warmth of a mother’s devotion
Noise erupted from camp, but it was not terror or sounds of war—it was joy, it was love, it was pure happiness.
“Come on,” Emma said, leading her brother towards the glow of camp, where all that joy and love and happiness awaited them, where they could share in all of it.
— —
Celebrations had lasted well into the night, unburdened laughter rising like the smoke from their fire. It gave the air something sweet, something to melt away the bitterness and dread that had for so long tainted everything Emma saw, everything she touched.
Leo sat just a few feet away, speaking animatedly to the group gathered to listen to tales of his adventures during the last months. Roland sat beside him, adding or correcting details when Leo tried to embellish. Robin hadn’t strayed from his son’s side since they had reunited, and so he looked on with fondness and immense relief, too lost in what he felt to truly attend to the story Leo regaled.
Emma knew the feeling well.
Her warring emotions had torn her into shreds—when she couldn’t handle one more moment of their relentless penduluming, the curtain fell away, and she was forced to stare into the truth of everything she’d been avoiding. She couldn’t hide from those thoughts anymore; her interlocked joy and despair had demolished the walls she’d built to protect her from the last thing that hadn’t hurt her yet, the last thing that truly could.
Killian shared a log with his brother across the dancing flames, avoiding her gaze as he so often did these days.
Everything she’d acknowledged to herself was painful enough: that she couldn’t find happiness while her family and her kingdom were destroyed, that she should’ve been spending every last drop of her energy to find and save them all, and most of all, that he pulled away, that he kept pulling away. But the thing that glared back at her in the rubble of her mind was beyond all of that.
She watched him chuckle, his face practically glowing in the firelight as he exchanged a look with his brother.
He had happiness now. Freedom. She refused to take that away from him, refused to put a target on his back—being her ally had put him in enough danger, if the Evil Queen discovered what she felt for him, he’d be doomed to a curse and guaranteed a painful death.
So that was it. She had to let him go.
Emma withered, shrank, crumbled in the wake of her decision. She was as broken as her kingdom. At last, Regina had gotten her wish.
“You look awfully grave for someone who just found her brother.”
Emma glanced up as Elsa joined her, a reassuring hand on hers.
“Sorry, I just…”
Elsa smiled knowingly. “You’ve got a lot on your mind.”
“Too much,” she huffed. “But I should enjoy tonight, while we have it. There’s never enough time. The gods know everything else will be waiting for us come dawn,” she added. It was something her mother would have said—at least the first part, anyway.
“You should,” Elsa agreed, her gaze drifting to where her sister sat, her head drooped on Kristoff’s shoulder. “We all should.”
— —
The party broke up an hour or so before dawn.
Emma followed her brother, intending to move her bedroll beside his, but instead of making camp for the night, she found him packing. He tucked some bread into his bag, weighing his waterskin to determine if he needed to take a trip to the stream.
“What are you doing?”
Leo’s head shot up, his wide eyes flickering with fear. “Oh. Um…”
“Um?”
He sighed, securing his bag and throwing it over his shoulder. “We haven’t had a chance to talk, and I’m sorry for that. But we don’t really have the time to have it now.”
“Leo,” she almost snapped. “Where are you going?” She couldn’t hide the panic laced in her voice.
“I have to go, a few miles at least. But it’s just until nightfall. I’ll be back, I promise.”
“I don’t understand.”
Leo took her hand in his. “I know. I’ll explain everything when I get back, but it’s the curse. I have to keep everyone safe.”
She snatched her hand back, desperate and confused. “Safe from what? Leo, tell me what’s going on. Tell me how I can help you.”
“Emma, please. We’re running out of time.”
“Safe from what, Leo?” she demanded.
“From me.”
Emma swayed, her shock putting her off balance. “Leo,” she breathed—it was a quiet sound but not without weight, anchored by fear and heartache and hopelessness.
He took a few more steps, his hands latching onto her arms, steadying her. “Everything’s gonna be okay, Emma. I promise. I just need you to trust me. Let me do what I have to, and tomorrow, I’ll tell you everything. Even the things I’d rather you didn’t know.”
She studied his face, seeing an intensity she’d never known him to possess. “You really have to go? Now?”
He nodded. “Yes. Will you let me?”
She deflated. “Yeah.”
He took a shaky breath, waiting only a second before pulling her against him. If they’d learned anything all those months ago, it was that you never knew when a hug would be the last.
“Thank you, Emma. I’ll be back once the stars are in the sky again. You should get some sleep.”
She let him go, watching until he disappeared, all while the emptiness threatening to swallow her heart stole the newly returned pieces—once again, she was shattered.
“He really will be back,” a voice called.
Emma spun to find Roland, hesitance written across his face. “Why did he have to go?”
“To keep us safe,” Roland replied. “He would’ve explained earlier, I know, but I don’t think he wanted to…spoil your reunion. Or however he rationalized it.”
Emma took a deep breath, ordering her emotions to calm themselves. “You know him pretty well then, huh?”
Roland shifted, straightening his posture in a way that her mother would have been proud of. “He rescued me from the Evil Queen’s dungeons. We’ve fought together for months, survived. Done things neither of us—” he paused, shaking his head to dispel the memory. “I knew my father would welcome me back with open arms, but Leo always worried…”
“That our parents wouldn’t, after everything we’ve done.” Emma was familiar with the concept.
“He’s been looking for you since we broke out. Kept insisting that you’d always find each other. And I’ve never seen him so happy as he was tonight. There may be things you don’t know yet about him, but at least be content in knowing that.”
Emma swallowed her fear, nodding. “Thank you.”
“Get some rest. He’ll be snippy if you’re exhausted when he gets back,” Roland said, heading back to his father.
She knew he was right, the thought of it made her smile. But her gaze returned to the place she’d last seen her brother, and then she couldn’t get her feet to move further away from him. Emma stood there, her eyes on the trees, until the first bit of the sun peaked over the horizon.
Red came to stand beside her, taking her hand, sharing her strength. “I could follow him, you know.”
“We can’t.”
“Then at least sleep. You can’t just stand here all day,” she said.
“I don’t want to move,” Emma replied, hating that she could see the color of the leaves now.
“We don’t have to,” Red told her.
Emma tore her eyes away, instead finding her bag and bedroll laid out a few feet behind where she stood. “Thank you,” she said, dropping onto the mat as the exhaustion dragged her down.
“It’s not me you should thank.”
Emma’s lips parted to ask, but instead she glanced back towards the center of camp where Killian was arranging his own bedroll. “Of course,” she sighed.
“At some point, Emma, you’re going to have to accept it,” Red told her, sitting beside her, smoothing her cloak so she could get comfortable.
Emma didn’t have the energy to fight her on it, not now. After a few hours of sleep, perhaps. She closed her eyes, pushing away everything else. But as she fell to sleep, a trembling cold crept over her. Even as the sun rose.
— —
Leo buckled from the pain, ice blooming where fire spread across his skin that tore into scales, but despite all of that, he smiled. His teeth turned to daggers that sliced into his lips, but he could not care. The curse would not break him. It hadn’t, even after months of trying, and now he had his sister back, and there was nothing they couldn’t do together. It was only a matter of time before they were reunited with their parents—after all, they would always find each other.

Chapter 2: The Enchanted Forest
Kairi was surrounded by so much color.
Yellows, oranges, reds, dark greens… The forest she’d landed in was at the peak of its vibrancy. Kairi’s neck ached from looking up through the tree’s canopies. She admired the way the light danced around her. Each of her light steps met with a crunch from the fallen leaves.
As an islander, Kairi grew up around bright colors. Whites, blues, greens paired with the sun’s ever-gift of heat. This forest though, was cool in many ways. A breeze tugged at the bottom of her coat. She was grateful for the new outfit; it’d keep her warm.
She didn’t have much direction, much guidance, and knowledge of where she was going. She only kept moving forward taking in the views. A large, busy river appeared by her side. Rocks kept the river in its space. She decided it was best to follow along the water, she appreciated the song of its soft sounds and it was the most likely way to meet another person.
She was comfortable with water. It had become such a part of her identity. Growing up by it, playing in it, traversing over it. Water had been a loyal companion. She let her mind wander back to memories of old, memories of a simpler time.
It led her to a clearing. A man with sand-colored hair slouched while sitting on a rock. He looked deep in thought, saddened even. He had a reindeer by his side.
Animals were empathic beings, that Kairi was used to. She couldn’t look away from the set of friends. This reindeer had a look of worry for his human companion. The reindeer had a multi-color harness attached to his body and large antlers.
“She really left us, huh bud?” The man said to his reindeer.
“ Maybe you don’t have the full story, and she’ll explain everything! There’s gotta be a reason you got left behind!” The man said in a funny voice, loosening his jaw as he spoke. That hit close to home.
Was he…. Is he talking to his reindeer? And talking for it too?
“Yeah, sure, you’re probably right, Sven. There’s probably an explanation… Like that she doesn’t want to be with me anymore!” He yelled out, shoving his face in his hands.
“ You are hopeless. She loves you.” The funny voice returned, sobs dotting his words.
Kairi couldn’t stop the giggle that escaped due to the face Sven shot at the man.
Immediately, the man sat up straight and shot her an embarrassed look. She’d be caught. His eyes were brown and as bright as his surroundings. “How much did you hear?” He questioned immediately. His cheeks were colored with embarrassment.
“You got left behind?” She answered.
He groaned and laid back on his rock, looking at the sky. “Yeah. I guess it comes with the my-girlfriend-is-a-princess package. They go on without you.”
“Your girlfriend is a princess?”
“I hope that she still is My girlfriend, anyway.” He groaned loudly. The man sat up, taking her in for the first time. “Wait. You’re not from the village. How’d you get in the enchanted forest?”
“I was just drawn here. It’s a beautiful forest.” She offered, hoping it would suffice.
The man nodded and took in the sights. “It is when it’s not trying to kill us-”
“Kill you?” Kairi questioned.
“-I’m Kristoff. This is Sven,” he leaned over to introduce the reindeer “and yes. My girlfriend is Princess Anna of Arendelle. She’s… gone. Left with her sister, I guess.”
“I’m Kairi.” She smiled. “Why don’t we find her together? Like you said, I’m sure there’s an explanation.”
“Uh, Sven said that.” He corrected.
“Oh. Right.” She sheepishly agreed.
“I think I may have guessed where they went. Follow me.”
——
They walked together, step in step. Sven stayed behind them, led by the harness Kristoff was holding. Since they’d began their travels, Kairi had noticed more about him. He was tall - very tall. Dressed in a smart, warm, black outfit. He was built as if he’d lifted heavy items all his life.
“What brings you here?” Kristoff started, filling the silence.
“My friends. I… can’t reach them right now. I’m looking for ways to get them back here. Back to our home.”
Kristoff nodded. “You were left behind too, huh?”
“You have no idea.” he wrapped her arms around herself.
He sighed. “You’d be surprised. One the one hand, you’re glad they’re figuring themselves out. Growing as a person. They’re getting things done. Things that are probably really important!”
Kairi added, “-but on the other hand, you feel useless. Right? You want to be a part of their lives! And you’re just missing out on all these important pieces.”
Kristoff laughed, gesturing in excitement. “Yes! Exactly! Just left wondering if we should follow them.”
“And of course, it always has to be fine… We can catch up with them afterwards.”
Kristoff whistled. “You’re taking the words right out of my mouth. It makes you feel as if we’re growing apart from them.”
She’d never been able to express her frustration aloud before. She had people and friends, she had hearts connected to hers, but she doubted any of them would truly get where she was coming from. It felt good to air it out with Kristoff and Sven. They were easy to open up to.
“So are you from Arendelle?” Kristoff asked, switching topics.
Kairi shook her head, eyes scanning the forest around them. “Actually, I’m from a place a lot sunnier. Sunshine, ocean, and the beach is where I grew up. I kind of miss it..”
“Well, be glad you weren’t here three summers ago then. Anna’s sister, Elsa, froze over the entire land.”
“What? In summer? How did she do that?”
“You really are new around here…” Kristoff lead through the trails, pulling Sven along, as he explained the story of the queen who had ice powers and how her sister Anna saved the town what felt like a lifetime ago. He caught her up to present day quickly. Kristoff seemed to be a man who got to the point. The elements had apparently gone berserk after Elsa had spoken to them one night. They’d left Arendelle citizens unsure and scared, forcing them to evacuate to safer ground as they wreaked havoc on the kingdom. Air, water, earth and and fire had communicated with the kingdom and Elsa that something was amiss. Kristoff, Anna, Elsa and one of Elsa’s creations had come into the forest where the wild elements followed them. Occasionally, Sven chimed in to Kristoff’s retelling. This made Kairi giggle even more. Sora would love this. He’d get along so well with Kristoff.
“Is that what you meant by the forest trying to kill you?”
Kristoff nodded. “Oh, yeah. We were greeted with a magical tornado as soon as we walked past the stones. That’s what we’re trying to fix - so Arendelle can go back to business as usual and the people can go back.”
Kairi swept her gaze around and nothing really seemed amiss. She’d have to really stay on her toes throughout this journey if everything Kristoff was saying was the truth.
“Ah, well, enough about me. What about your friends?” Kristoff followed along the river.
“Their names are Sora and Riku. Sora… He saved us all from a terrible fate.” She paused, remembering the numerous times he’d sacrificed himself for her. She felt vulnerable sharing her story. Kristoff watched her, sympathy on his face.
“We lost him because of that. Because of me. Riku’s out looking for him now. I couldn’t stay behind any longer. I want to help bring Sora and Riku back home.”
“Hold on, Sora? Spiky hair, big shoes, fought things away with a key?”
Kairi had to stop walking and looked at Kristoff expectantly.. “You know Sora? He was here?” Her heart thumped against her chest. Could answers really come this easily?
Kristoff nodded, stopping also “He helped us. He helped end the winter those summers ago. We really owe him a debt. I’m so sorry that he’s disappeared. Losing someone like that… It’s always hard. You two will have to come back together when he’s safe and sound. I wish I knew how to help you and Sora out.”
A sad smile stretched across her lips. “Thanks. We’ll be back together.”
“You know, Arendelle has th-” Kristoff’s face soured as he stopped suddenly, looking beyond her.
Kairi swiveled her head to see for herself what Kristoff was looking at. A seemingly from nowhere flash flood was rushing straight towards them. Water came quickly at their group, aiming to meet the river they’d been following at their backs. Kairi’s eyes widened, and her mind began working quickly thanks to all her training. Sven, who’d been walking behind them, took steps backwards in fear; he dragged Kristoff with him. Kairi jumped backwards too, but in the opposite direction. They seemed to clear just in time as a wave pushed in where they’d been standing, crashing into the rocks and river. Mist off the clash nearly blinded Kairi, and the rushing water deafened her. The river bloated, rising up towards her toes. She couldn’t stay here. She ran, her feet graceful, to safety. As soon as she’d found dry land, Kairi looked backwards to see Kristoff and Sven drenched from head to toe - but alright. They must have also moved quickly. Around 100 feet and a slowing current split them. The aftermath had them separated by a brand new, wide river. She could see leaves being quickly pushed by the strong current feeding into the one they’d followed. Kairi waved at the boys and Kristoff waved back. He attempted to speak to her, but words were lost over the rushing water. She shook her head. He pointed his finger to the sky and created a circle. She understood it to mean Circle around - I’ll meet you later. She copied the gesture to show she got the message.
A forest that was dangerous… A very interesting world for her first journey. It was unbelievable that the first person she ran into was also someone that knew Sora. Of course, Sora was someone whose heart touched others so easily. It made sense she’d come across someone he’d helped eventually.
Her ears worked overtime, listening for anymore danger. Having one side of her protected by the steady water did make her feel safer.
Ache set into her legs, and the sun was getting low in the sky. She had made it far from where Kristoff and she had met at the beginning of the day. The forest had been consistent, and the rocks aside from the river had began to grow larger. Thoughts of shelter floated in her mind, of a space to settle for the night.
She was slowing down when a voice reached her ears.
“Elsa pushed me away too - and didn’t even say goodbye.”
Elsa? Kairi searched for the source of the voice, knowing this was someone who was friendly. This person could help her.
“And you have every right to be very, very mad at her.” A second voice validated. A woman’s voice responded. This time, she was able to pinpoint the source.
Her eyes met a boat on the water. The boat, translucent and made of ice, floated with two riders.
A young woman, with a long purple coat and sweet demeanor, must’ve been who was speaking. She was speak to what looked to be …a snowman?

How would you have made Helsa canon?
Okay there are 3 ways we can go about this.
Frozen. In the first Frozen, it's Elsa Hans meets, not Anna. It starts out with a dance, at first Elsa is hesitant, but Hans says please and Elsa could not refuse. Elsa finds a kindred spirit in Hans. Hans shares his mistreatment over the hands of his family and Elsa reveals that her parents made her conceal, don't feel. Hans says "maybe we're more alike than I thought, your majesty" Elsa tells Hans how she had to shut Anna out and Hans simply tells her "you were close, if you open up, I'm sure she would forgive you. Before Elsa goes to see Anna, Hans gives Elsa a winter rose. And Elsa smiles like she's never before. More of the events of the first movie happens. Elsa and Anna reunite, Elsa loses control and shuts Anna and Hans out and Let It Go. Anna and Kristoff's journey. When Hans comes to save Elsa at her castle. Hans tells Elsa she's not a monster, the powers she wields are beautiful, and for once in her life, Elsa doesn't view this power as a curse and the warmth from Hans begins to thaw out the ice. And more or less goes like this fan comic. It's the Duke Of Weselton who's the villain.(you know the obvious asshole who has a problem with Elsa having powers). Elsa and Anna's love for each other saves each other. Elsa and Hans get married and Elsa tosses the bouquet towards Anna and Kristoff and winks at her sister. Elsa finds someone who understands her and helps her embrace her powers and someone who helped bring her and Anna back together. Hans found something worth even more than a throne. Love and magic. True love. And Hans has what he always wanted. A family. A King with his Queen
Frozen 2. Remember the Frozen 2 teaser that shows Anna picking up a sword? In my opinion, that was supposed to be Hans. But let's say that is Hans. Hans intentions are to seek help from Elsa because of the crisis and mostly he just wants to escape to the Enchanted Forest to escape the torment of his family. Absolutely no one trusts him and Hans journey is not about escape, but redemption. Also I like chooarts and other Helsa fanartists depiction of Hans having a beard. But anyways, the fire spirit latches onto Hans.(more on that later) When Elsa leaves Anna behind, Hans goes to find her. When Hans finds her, she's frozen like in the movie. The fire spirt bonds with Hans and Hans uses his new found power to save Elsa. Elsa, Hans, Anna and Kristoff together save the Enchanted Forrest. And Elsa tells Hans she forgives him and they hold hands and embrace in a hug an teasing for something more. And Olaf makes a joke about the two lovebirds while Elsa and Hans turn redder than fire. Eventually Anna forgives Hans. He saved Elsa and helped save the Enchanted Forest and Arendelle and Hans wishes her the best with Kristoff, he is a better man for her than he could've been. And they part as friends. Where Elsa found the place she belongs, Hans found his belonging with Elsa, because the Fifth Spirit needs the Fire spirit to stay whole. Anna takes her place as Queen with Kristoff, while Elsa and Hans stay in the Enchanted Forest.
Frozen 3. Hans' father and 12 brothers intend to invade Arendelle. They see Arendelle as vulnerable without Elsa. So Hans goes to the Enchanted Forest to warn Elsa. And together Elsa and Hans would save Arendelle together. I also think it should be revealed that Hans has Fire Powers. In the process of working together, Elsa and Hans begin to fall for each other and Elsa finally learns to forgive Hans for what he's done. And with Elsa as a master of ice and Hans a master of fire, Fire & Ice together saves the day and unites two kingdoms.

The Woods Final
@helsaweenfun
Elsa smiles at her sister who is petting Sitron, Hans's horse. "Tea, my queen?" She looks up to see Hans standing there with a cup of tea in his hand.
Elsa accepts the cup and smiles at him. Hans then takes a seat next to Elsa on the rock near the small cottage and looks at Anna too.
Elsa has been staying with Anna and Hans for 2 weeks now and decides it's time to go back to Arendelle. "I was thinking, maybe it's time Anna and I to go back to Arendelle and get back the throne from that troll thing." Hans nods and sips on his tea.
"I understand, you don't have to live here anymore." Elsa felt like she didn't want him to live here in such a dangerous place in the woods. It's not safe, and she wasn't going to come visit him only to see his body laying on the ground due to wolves.
"Why don't you come to Arendelle with Anna and I?" She asks. "Yeah, we forgave you and we're sure that the rest of Arendelle will do the same." Anna says as she comes to sit with them.
Hans looks at the sisters and shakes his head. "I feel people will want my head." Elsa and Anna exchange looks and giggle. "Don't worry, you won't have to worry about that. We'll get guards for you if that makes you feel any better." Elsa says as she places her hand on his arm.
Hans smiles at her only to see Anna's face scrunch up in disgust. "Can you guys stop with all the lovey dovey staring?" Elsa and Hans shift and turn away from each other.
"We were doing no such thing." Elsa says. After that heart to heart a week ago Elsa felt like she knew Hans so much better, the pain he had in his eyes, matched hers when she spoke about her sister.
"Maybe I'll come with you guys." Elsa's eyes lit up and Anna clapped her hands in excitement. "Let's gather some stuff for you." With that Anna runs off into the cottage. Hans and Elsa giggle and look at each other.
Hans brushes his knuckle over her cheek and smiles. "My queen." He whispers. Elsa's eyes close, her cheek turning red. Hans smirks and places a kiss on her forehead.
"Thank you for forgiving me." He says. Elsa opens her eyes and looks at him with so much adoration in her eyes. "Hans." Hans places his finger on her lips, silencing her. "I don’t want you to say anything." He says as he brushes some hair off her face.
Elsa looks down at her lap and smiles shyly. "Thank you for helping me and my sister." She whispers. Hans nods and wraps his arm around her shoulders, bringing her face into his chest. "Don't thank me." He places a soft kiss onto her hair.
The lovebirds didn't know that Anna was secretly watching them from the window, smiling all the way. She wanted this to happen, wanted Elsa to feel comfortable with someone and her dream finally came true.
"We should head in to pack your stuff." Elsa mumbles. Hans tightens his hold on her and places his chin on her head. "Let's stay like this a little while longer." Elsa smiles and wraps her free hand around his waist.
"Okay fine." She says with a bright smile plastered on her face.

One Warm Morning, We Thought of the Sea
⋆˚✿˖° Cozy summer Elsamaren vibes ⋆˚✿˖°
With a side of emotional character development
Sunlight filtered through a tree outside of a cottage on the outskirts of Arendelle. The warmth gently creeped through its bedroom windows, dappling a patchwork quilt with spots of pale gold. Two women slept under this quilt, unaware of the rising temperature in the room. To be fair, one of the women always seemed to run a bit cold.
Well maybe more than a bit.
Honeymaren appreciated the cool and comfortable temperature of her girlfriend, especially since the summers in Arendelle seemed to be getting increasingly warm each year. Elsa had said that ever since “The Great Thaw”, the land seemed to be getting more and more comfortable with the heat. Honeymaren, though, believed Elsa was inadvertently speaking about herself. The famously guarded queen was becoming more comfortable with all sorts of things. New people, new lands, new feelings. She even picked up new hobbies, like baking. Elsa found solace in creation rather than destruction and was tickled at the the thought that she could produce something warm, rather than ice cold.
The most surprising new venture for Elsa, though, was sailing. Throughout her young adulthood, Elsa had become extremely wary of the water, going as far as viewing the sea as a murderer. Something dark, something unable to feel remorse for taking her parents away from her and her sister. Amongst other things, she concealed this fear, as she often took trips to new lands for political purposes. Gloved hands gripped onto the sturdiest parts of the boat, holding tighter with each passing wave.
Her journey to Ahtohallan changed this outlook.
Elsa had dove head first into the ocean one night. Determination outweighing her fear. Anna would call it bravery, but Elsa was too humble to agree. The water was her obstacle then, but it was also her teacher.
Nok, the horse, was made of water. Touching him showed Elsa the beauty of the element. Riding him showed her its power.
Ahtohallan was a river. But it was also safety. It was memories, and answers. It was her mother. How could that be so scary?
Ice was water. And Elsa soon realized that the things she feared about the sea were oddly similar to what she feared about herself. The sea could be cold, unrelenting, and out of control. It could hurt the people that she loved. But with the help of those people, Elsa learned that water could also help things grow, like the vegetables in Anna’s garden. It could make things clean, like Oaken’s spa. And it could make people happy- and therefore she could too.
This past spring, on her own volition, Elsa had asked the Arendellian fishermen to teach her how to sail. Honeymaren, of course, was ecstatic that her girlfriend was healing from the darkness of her past, but was secretly just as excited for the cute new batch of freckles on her cheeks, growing deeper with each day she spent in the sun.
This sunlight was now tickling at Elsa and Honeymaren’s eyelashes, gently bringing them out of their sleep. They cuddled a bit closer, unwilling to start another day just yet. Elsa pressed her lips into Honeymaren’s shoulder, causing the other woman finally let her eyes flutter open.
“Good morning, love”, Honeymaren murmured, feeling Elsa’s smile on her skin. She broke her gaze a moment later to look up at the window, “looks warm out today”.
Elsa deepened into Honeymaren’s shoulder.
“Maybe we could go sailing in the fjord?”
This proposition caused the blonde to stir, meeting Honeymaren’s gaze with sleepy, sensitive eyes. Elsa pushed her fair hair out of her face, revealing a soft smile and the aforementioned freckles. She nodded like a child. Honeymaren let out a chuckle from somewhere deep inside her chest, now blooming with adoration.
“Is that a ‘yes’?”

A New Dream

chapter index
Tumblr media
November 1st, 1875
Dear Rapunzel,
Please let me know immediately if you’ve heard news from Henry or Inga recently.  I don’t want to jump to conclusions, but I have reason to worry.
Elsa
Rapunzel looked up from the letter she had just received from Elsa, quickly handing it over to Eugene, who looked over it quickly.
“Well,” Eugene said, “when was the last you heard from them?”
“It’s been several weeks,” she replied. “And the telegraph has been down the whole time.”
“I hadn’t noticed that.”
“It’s working everywhere except between Corona and the Southern Isles,” Rapunzel explained. “That seems odd, don’t you think?”
“Very odd.  I hadn’t even heard anything about it.”
“I was already worried, but Elsa’s note makes me think there’s really something going on.”
Eugene put his hand on hers.
“Has Hilde heard anything?”
“No, though she’s been busy, of course.”
“Still, maybe you should ask her?”
“Of course I should, obviously.” Rapunzel sighed. “I should write back to Elsa, first.”
“Good idea.  I can send a note to Hilde, if you’d like.”
“Please do,” Rapunzel said as she sat down and scribbled out a quick reply to Elsa, folding it up, and calling up the wind spirit, the way Elsa had taught her over a decade before.
***
Anna and Kristoff sat in the library silently.  Their younger children were all noisily enjoying themselves, and they didn’t want any curious attention. Elsa was talking with Linne about something unrelated.
Sofia and Marie were talking amongst themselves.
“If the weather allows, we should go visit Isabella tomorrow,” Marie said. “Siggy has been away visiting his family, after all.”
“How long has Siggy been away?” Anna asked.
“Oh! Mother! We didn’t know you were listening!”  Sofia exclaimed.
“Sorry, I couldn’t help overhearing.”
“Siggy went to visit a cousin in Bergen,” Sofia said.
“He didn’t come back right after Inga went to the spa?”
“You didn’t know?” Marie asked, glancing at Sofia.
Anna glanced at Kristoff, who raised an eyebrow.
“Perhaps, Kristoff, we should visit Inga tomorrow.”
***
Henry stood in the back of the cathedral in Corona. Everything was draped in black, and a somber hymn was coming from the organ. Everyone was dressed in full mourning, and he could just make out his family near the front, standing silently with their heads bowed. He hurried forward, but nobody seemed to pay any attention to him. He reached the front.  His sister’s face was covered with a veil, but he could see hints of tears streaking her cheeks, and their grandmother was holding her. He looked at his parents, and his mother in particular looked silently inconsolable, and his father was focusing on her, not looking up.
“Mother, I’m here!” he announced, reaching for her hand, but it was like touching a statue, and no one seemed to see him.
He realized that Inga wasn’t there.  Looking around, he saw Aggie to the side, with an unfamiliar governess holding his hand.
“I want to go home,” his son whimpered.
“You’re next in line now,” the governess whispered. “You need to stay here for your education.”
***
Henry gasped for air, and looking around, realized that he was in Arendelle, sitting in a meadow overlooking the fjord.  Some people walked past, in the direction of the town below.
“Very sad, isn’t it?” the one said.
“Yes, and both so young. Senseless, if you ask me.”
Henry stood up and chased after them.  “What happened? Who are you talking about?” he asked.
They ignored him.
“Splitting up the children like that, too. Everyone says that the Queen in Corona will never die, anyway, so why do they have to take the boy away from his family here?”
Henry felt a pit in his stomach.  Was he dead? And what did they mean by both of them?
“Please, stop!” he shouted, trying in vain to pull at the two.
***
Henry woke up to the sound of someone walking in the corridor.  It was the dreary room he had been in for what had to be at least a month now. He had forgotten to keep track. He stared at the window up above. It was sunny again, that much he could see. He hadn’t seen any people walking by, so he supposed he wasn’t in a basement room, but of course he couldn’t be certain.
The dreams lingered in his mind. He wondered what they thought about him being gone so long.  But why would Inga be in any danger? It was just a dream, though.  Inga was safe at home. He was sure of it.
Just then he was startled by a knock at the door.
“Yes?” he asked.
The door opened and a man walked in. Henry didn’t recognize him, but something about his appearance made him think that he might be related to the royal family.
“Your Highness,” he intoned, “someone of your station deserves much better accommodation than this.”
The man gestured at the room.
“Who are you?”
“I am someone interested in your well-being,” he replied mysteriously.
Henry rolled his eyes at the man’s vague reply.
“Well, anyway, the accommodation isn’t what bothers me,” Henry replied. “Can you tell me why I’m here?”
“We will determine that later. The important thing is that we come to an understanding.”
“Excuse me, but I think I deserve to know why I’m here. If you don’t have a reason for holding me-”
“We haven’t yet told anyone where you are. There are some people staying at your embassy who seem to be old friends, but our sources can’t tell us much more.  Depending on your cooperation here, before we reveal where you are, we can come up with an unfortunate accident, during which some kind soul was unaware of your identity, or we have the power to turn it into a scandal. The choice is yours.”
“What are you even talking about? What kind of choice are you talking about?”
“My sources tell me that you know something of use to us.”
“Once again,” Henry asked, increasingly agitated, “can you please tell me what this is about? If it’s about marrying off one of my wife’s sisters, that’s out of the question.”
“Oh, no,” the man laughed. “Some of them might be interested in that, but I’m more interested in the instability that will come when the line of succession goes to some distant duchy.”
“I don’t see how that’s in anyone’s interest,” Henry scoffed. “Besides, we all know that the Duke of Bielko is in line for practically every throne, however distantly. He was even third in line for Arendelle for a while.”
“I believe your own wife knocked him off of that position when she was born,” he chuckled.
“That is true,” Henry acknowledged. “And we all hope that Arendelle’s line of succession will remain secure. I mean no disrespect to the Duke of Bielko, of course.”
“The Duke of Bielko has a very nice life,” the man smirked. “One you yourself might find enviable. His duties extend little beyond that of running a large estate, and I’ve been told he is quite content with his lot. He gets to spend most of his time on his hobbies and relaxing with his family.”
“Yes, that does sound quite nice,” Henry agreed. “From what I’ve heard, I don’t believe he has any interest in taking on the leadership of a vast colonial empire like the Southern Isles. So explain what you’re thinking.”
“You were very young in 1848, of course, but there are those who were left disappointed.”
“Yes, of course,” Henry nodded, not needing a history lesson. “So a succession crisis would be quite useful. I think I understand now. What does this have to do with me?”
“Does the name Ludvig Holst ring a bell?” the man asked him.
“I remember Prince Ludvig mentioning someone by that name before I found myself here,” Henry answered. “But that’s just about the only thing I can tell you. I know he’s in newspapers.”
“Yes, well, he was in newspapers.”
“Was?”
“He came to an unfortunate end earlier this week.”
“Oh!” Henry gasped. As much as the name had sounded almost sinister when he was contemplating meeting with the proprietor of cheap papers focused on royal gossip, he wished nobody ill.
“You may have guessed his relation to Prince Ludvig,” the man hinted.
Henry thought for a moment. “Indeed, I hadn’t thought about that. Ludvig is a common enough name. But I assume you’ll tell me that he was more than simply a business associate?”
“Indeed, Ludvig had acknowledged as much, legally, though being in the position of controlling the press, he had managed to keep this quiet for the time being.”
“I see,” Henry said. “That is indeed unfortunate, but as you may be aware, I never met Ludvig Holst. I still fail to understand what role I have in all of this.”
“Your position, or rather, your close connection to Arendelle, is what we’re interested in. You see, we have reason to believe that there is another potential heir, yet to be publicly acknowledged, living in Arendelle.”
“This would be news to me,” Henry said, remaining technically honest. “I am aware of no such person in Arendelle. Do you care to tell me what you do know?”
“I only know what has been rumored,” he said, handing Henry one of the more notorious gossip papers from Corona. “For example, there are rumors of your wife’s activities since you’ve been gone.”
Henry looked at the paper. Assuming the paper was real, it seemed that October had already passed. For all the promises he had made Inga for when he would return at the end of the summer, he never thought he would still be away after this much time.
He skimmed the front page, which spoke of Inga running off to Bergen with the captain of the Arendelle guard. He knew her friendliness with Siggy was something people whispered and speculated about, though why they would think she was going all the way to Bergen with him, he didn’t know.
“This is nonsense,” Henry declared. “And I can only assume this supposed heir you’ve heard about is nonsense as well.”
“And yet, that is the same captain of the guard who has been rumored to be your wife’s lover since before you were married. Some even suspect-”
“I’m familiar with these rumors,” Henry retorted. “There’s nothing to them.”
“Are you saying there was nothing irregular about your wedding, then?”
“That’s not what I said,” Henry replied bluntly. “But bringing in people who had nothing to do with it doesn’t help anything.”
***
It was a dark, windy morning, and Arianna woke up in the nursery to see everyone else still asleep, and the nanny presumably gone to take care of their breakfast. She left quietly, but her brothers were fast asleep, so it probably didn’t matter. She wanted to see her grandmother, because something had seemed not quite right.
She gently knocked at the door of the study, which swung open to reveal an empty room. Walking to the window, no one was outside, but that wasn’t much of a surprise given the weather. She heard some commotion coming from the library, and found Sofia and Marie on the sofa, looking over a stack of newspapers.
“Good morning,” she said.  “Where is everyone else?”
“Oh, good morning, Arianna,” Sofia said. “Everyone else is asleep, except Mother and Father and Aunt Elsa, but they left late last night.”
“Left?” Arianna asked. “Where?”
“They wouldn’t say,” Marie said. “Mother said she wanted to see about some business matters in Bergen.”
“I think we know the real reason,” Sofia smirked. “They could have just sent Father if it was a trade guild matter.”
“What do you mean?” Arianna asked.
“Sofia, she doesn’t need to hear about that,” Marie whispered.
Sofia blushed, and started gathering up the papers. Arianna noticed that they were from Corona, not Arendelle.  Her parents never let her read the papers from Corona.
“You’re right, Marie,” Sofia sighed.  “Ariana, you probably don’t want to read any of the newspapers right now.”
“Oh! What’s this?” Olaf had entered the room without anyone noticing, and was reaching for one of the newspapers still on the floor. “That looks like it’s about Inga!”
Sofia and Marie were shaking their heads.
“Nothing interesting,” Sofia insisted, grabbing the paper from Olaf. “Just some gossip from one of the Corona papers.”
***
The road toward Bergen was well-maintained, but the wind and drizzle made the journey miserable.  Kristoff drove them silently, while Anna rode in back with her sister. Sleep was a good excuse not to voice her thoughts of what they might find. Part of her almost hoped to find out that Inga was having some kind of affair. They could figure something out. People did that, didn’t they?  But the Southern Isles, she didn’t want to think about that. Corona had taken care of dealings with the Southern Isles for thirty years now on behalf of Arendelle, and it seemed to be working.
The wind had died down and the drizzle subsided when they pulled up at the end of the path leading to the spa. The establishment showed all the signature details of an Oaken establishment, except a sign outside told passers by that they were closed for a private party.
“Elsa?” she said as they pulled to a stop.
“I think I’ll stay here for now,” her sister replied.
Anna nodded, glancing at Kristoff, who gave a quick nod in return to go ahead.
She walked up to the door and knocked.
“Your Majesty!” Renata gasped as she opened the door.
“Hello, Renata, I hope I’m not troubling you too much,” Anna apologized, “but I need to speak with my daughter, and I understand that she’s reserved your entire resort for the past month.”
“That’s true,” Renata replied nervously, “Her Highness has reserved the place.  We haven’t taken any other guests since her arrival.”
“Thank you,” Anna said cautiously, realizing that the family were probably following Inga’s own orders. She would save any possible anger for her own daughter, not Renata or anyone working here.  “Wait here a moment, please?”
Anna walked to the main road where the wagon had stopped.
“Is she here?” Kristoff asked as he came down from the wagon.
“I don’t think so,” Anna replied. “I don’t want to go charging in making them think they’re going to be arrested for treason or something.”
“No, of course not,” he nodded.
Elsa stepped down from the back. “I told you I was fairly certain she’s not here.”
“Yes, but we need to find out where she actually is,” Anna insisted,  “And maybe find out why she felt compelled to just leave like that.”
Kristoff took Anna’s hand.  “We’ll wait here.”
Anna took a deep breath and walked back to the door.  “Can you tell me if Inga is here now?”
Renata looked uncomfortable, glancing back inside.  “Your Majesty, please, I don’t want any scandal.  Nobody has spoken to anyone.”
“I… I hadn’t thought there would be a scandal,” Anna replied.  “I promise you won’t be in any trouble with me.  May I come in?”
Renata nervously opened the door wide, and Anna stepped inside.  Several members of the extended Oaken family had gathered in the kitchen, and Anna felt the strong urge to apologize for her interruption, but then reminded herself that they were covering up Inga’s whereabouts.
She stopped right behind Renata, anxious to find out what they had to say.  There was some commotion by the main stairway in the front hall, and she saw Inga’s maid being led downstairs, looking terrified.
“Your Majesty,” she said with a deep curtsey.
“Oline?” Anna asked.  “Where is Inga?”
“Your Majesty,” the maid replied, sounding like she was ready to cry, “Her Highness left me here.  I was ordered not to say anything.”
“Did she tell you where she was going?”
“She was going on to Bergen, but she didn’t say if they were staying there.”
“They?”
“Oh…” Oline sighed.  “She didn’t want him to get in trouble.  It was all her idea.”
“What?  What was her idea? And who is going to be in trouble?”
“Can you promise that you won’t get anyone in trouble?”
“I promise to be fair,” Anna told her.
The maid looked around nervously, and took a deep breath.  “Captain Olsen took her on to Bergen, but I swear I wasn’t the one who told the papers.”
“Which papers?”
“One of the papers from Corona.  The family here gets several of them each week.”
***
Eugene stood alone on the terrace, pacing nervously.
“Father?” Hilde asked. “I came as soon as I got your letter. What’s going on?”
“Has Henry written to you recently? Or maybe Inga?”
“No. Inga hardly ever writes to me. Henry hasn’t written since the summer, but he sometimes forgets, you know.”
“Have you heard from anyone in the Southern Isles?” Eugene asked her.
“No, but the Dowager has mentioned some gossip that never makes it into the newspapers.”
“I haven’t seen her since your wedding, how’s she doing?”
“Quite well, but she’s very worried for her daughter, the one married to the Duke of Bielko.  It seems that anyone with a connection to the Southern Isles family is starting to worry.”
“I hadn’t heard about that.”
“I’m surprised. Henry has been complaining about the succession crisis in his letters to me.”
“Really?” Eugene asked. “He doesn’t bring up politics in his letters to us.”
“He knows I like some good gossip, I guess. Some of the princes are trying to get married again, and they think Henry could connect them to the young single princesses of Arendelle.”
“Well, they do have a few of those,” Eugene laughed in spite of himself. He was not feeling any less nervous, but at least it almost made sense now.  Almost.
“Hilde, do you have any of those letters with you?”
“Not with me here, but they’re at the cottage,” she said.
“If you don’t mind sharing them, they might be helpful.”
***
Eugene found Rapunzel in their room.
“I just talked to Hilde,” he announced. “She has letters from the dowager Princess of Glowerhaven with information that might be of interest, and she left to get them.  None of this is showing up in any of the newspapers, but the Duke of Bielko seems to be worried that he’ll actually be in line for succession.”
“I know they’re having a bit of a succession crisis
“Is there anything we can do right now?” she asked him.
He stood silently for a moment.
“Has anyone been in their room?” he asked.
“Just the cleaning staff once a week, I think,” Rapunzel said. “It seems invasive.”
Eugene sighed. “They might both be in trouble, we need to go.”
Rapunzel was relieved that her spare key still opened the door to their son’s room, but of course the servants would have a working key, as well, but she didn’t want the questions that would come from asking them.
The place was obviously not lived in.  Henry had visited briefly during one of his diplomatic trips during the past year, but Inga had been in Arendelle for over two years now with their children.  Rapunzel knew it wasn’t personal, but she wished she could see them more often.
She and Eugene stood at the door, looking around. In one corner were several of Henry’s paintings, partially finished, simply leaning against the wall behind an easel. Inga had left very few things besides a closet full of dresses that were obviously only worn in Corona. Rapunzel walked over to the small bookshelf by the bed, next to Inga’s writing desk. The top of the desk was completely empty, except for a small portrait of her, obviously Henry’s work, and from the look of Inga’s hair, possibly painted soon after the two had met.
“Should we look in the drawers?” Eugene asked.
“Oh, of course!” Rapunzel said, wondering why she hadn’t started with that.  The first drawer contained a single sheet of paper, carefully folded. She opened it up, quickly folding it back.
“What was that?” Eugene asked.
“It’s from Henry.  It’s- I think they had a sort of game of leaving notes for each other… here.”
She felt like she was invading their son’s privacy, but perhaps Eugene would notice something in it that she hadn’t.
November 2nd, 1869
Dear Inga,
I’m going to be traveling again. I’ll see if you can find this note.  I already miss you.  I’ve left a surprise for Ariana in the nursery, and I’ll get something for both her and Aggie while I’m in the Southern Isles.
Much love,
Yours,
Henry
“This was five years ago,” Eugene observed, setting the letter back into the drawer.
“Six years ago,” Rapunzel corrected, then shook her head. “Not that it matters…”
“What about the other drawer?” Eugene asked.
Rapunzel felt a small frame, and pulled out a miniature painting, about the size of a book. She turned it over and held it up to reveal a painting of a mermaid resting on a half dressed young man.
“We weren’t meant to see that, put it back,” Eugene said quickly.
“Why?” Rapunzel asked, then looked closer, realizing that the faces were those of Henry and Inga. “Yes, that’s going back where it came from.”
She closed the drawer as quietly as she could, as Henry or Inga might walk in at that moment.
“Is there anything on the shelves?”
Rapunzel squatted down and looked at the shelves underneath.  There were novels in various languages, and a Portuguese phrasebook.  Then she saw a book at the back with nothing written on the spine. She pulled it out from the shelf, carefully opening it to the first page.
“I’m pretty sure this is Inga’s writing,” she sighed. “I can’t read this, though.  Now I wish I’d put in some effort to learn the language…”
“Let me take a look,” Eugene said, taking the book. “This is from nine years ago. Nothing too astounding, pretty much the usual stuff someone would say starting out a diary.”
***
Inga sat in the Embassy dining room with Lars. John had just returned from the staff outing, and most of them were heading to their rooms to sleep the rest of the day, as the rain had meant that most of their revelries involved the beer hall rather than outdoor amusements.
John walked in with a bowl of soup.
“Here, Inga, I know that you haven’t had much appetite lately, but I think this will help.  You should eat more.”
“Wait, carrot soup?” Inga asked, smelling the familiar odor.
“Yes, I remembered Halima telling me it’s what you usually eat if you don’t have a good appetite.  She said it was a family favorite.”
“Well, thank you, John,” she said. Inga never remembered actually ordering it from Halima, but it did always seem to be on hand when she claimed she had no appetite.
“Some food would do you some good,” Lars said. “By the way, John, did you see this?”
Lars showed him a card.
“Bielsko is hosting a party tonight?” John asked. “You want me to find out who’s going to be there, don’t you?”
“Of course.”
“The Duke of Bielsko is next in line for the throne of the Southern Isles after the royal family, isn’t he?” Inga mused between bites of soup.
“And for Arendelle’s after your family,” Lars said. “They’re married into nearly every family. I wonder if Glowerhaven will be there. Have you met the Princess of Glowerhaven?”
“No,” Inga said. “Only her younger daughter, once, in Corona. She was interested in Frederick, of course.”
“Of course,” John laughed. “But who wasn't?”
Lars took back the invitation, and rubbed his beard thoughtfully. “Wait… Maldonia… Inga, which ones have you met?”
Inga hesitated, remembering exactly what Lars was referring to. “The older brother… oh, and his sister.”
“Which one is the older brother?” John asked.
“Tarkan is the older one,” Lars replied. “Good thing, too, since we know he’s not in town.”
Inga relaxed a bit. “Still, I suppose I’d be recognized by someone if I went.”
“Not necessarily,” Lars said.  “You have a reputation for not being seen at foreign events, you know.”
“Do I?” Inga asked.
“Honesty may be the perfect disguise, as you learned when you arrived here,” Lars said.
“What do you mean?”
“You will go as my half sister Ingeborg. You will dress up, of course, that much is expected.”
“Are you sure about this?” John asked.
“Yes, quite sure,” Lars said. “That is, if you agree.”
Inga thought about it. It was tempting.  “It might be interesting,” she admitted.
“Good,” Lars said, standing up. “Even though we didn’t learn very much at the opera, I think that you will hear things that neither John nor I would be able to learn.”
“When should I be ready?” Inga asked.
Lars looked at the card, then the clock. “We should probably be ready to go in an hour.  John, why don’t you get the carriage ready, and I’ll let the maid know. You should finish that soup.”

What do you think they'll do in Frozen III? (Besides a kristanna wedding.)
Oh jeeeeeez I don't even know where it would go at this point.
Obviously, they need to get the sisters back together somehow, so I imagine this threat would have to be another that affects both the Forest and Arendelle, but even worse than that was happening with the spirits. I'm predicting that Anna will once again leave Arendelle to help Elsa, but at least with Kristoff she can actually leave it in good hands, especially if their wedding is at the beginning of the movie instead of the end, which honestly I'd prefer. I mean I love movies about weddings and ones that end with weddings, but I'd rather not waste that time with the Kristanna wedding like they did with getting them engaged.
Maybe this time Elsa will FINALLY stop pushing Anna away. Now that she's had the chance to finally grow into who she wants, she can stop acting like Anna is some kind of liability. Hell she said at the end of Frozen II "You saved me - again!". Elsa knows Anna is a vital part of her story so to have her finally stop doubting that her sister is capable would be such a relief.
What I would REALLY love to see though is them actually acknowledging that Anna's memories got corrupted. But the last 2 movies have shown that the Trolls are never going to be held accountable for their part in ruining the sisters' lives so I'm not holding my breath.

Forbidden for Helsa, please ❄💙
Hi, I'm sorry it took a while. Anyway, here's something that's inspired by @paradise-of-guilty-pleasures 's Mermaid x Centaur AU.
One Word Prompt 17 — Forbidden
Forbidden is the word that the creatures of the forest and the ocean use to describe their union. They are not meant to be together, these creatures would say, one belongs to the land and the other belongs to the sea. But who are they to say such a thing, to assume that nothing good will come out of a union between two creatures of different realms?
‘Just ignore them, Elsa,’ he would murmur to her ear as she leaned back against him, feeling his strong arms around her, her tail dipping in the water as they settled by the docks. ‘They don’t know about us.’
Letting out a sigh, she dared to close her eyes, trying to savour the moment as much as she could, before she had to go back and face the disapproving look on her sister’s face once she found out about her escapade. Her sister would probably not hold back this time, not after she’d warned her so many times before. But Elsa didn’t care, or at least she didn’t want to.
Although it might be easier to tune out others’ opinions, some of those words still managed to slip through, residing at the back of her mind until one day they were pouring into her stream of consciousness. The reassurance began to subside for a bit when she was reminded of her sister’s words from a few days ago.
‘You should stop seeing that Centaur,’ she could hear Anna say. ‘It will only do harm to your reputation.’ Elsa only corrected her sister to address him with his name, Hans. Anna scoffed.
On another occasion she said, ‘You’re not supposed to mingle with those creatures above the land at all. You’re only signing yourself for a heartbreak, and I can’t keep quiet about it, Elsa.’ Elsa muttered a quick thank you and you don’t have to worry about me.
A slight nudge prompted her to open her eyes, and she was greeted by those emerald eyes which sparkled under the warm glow of the twilight. She gave him a small smile, before nuzzling the crook of his neck and letting out another sigh. He asked her if there was something that was troubling her mind, and she only nodded. He didn’t need to probe, for he knew what it was about this time.
Hans had met Anna before, a feisty mermaid with hair to match her temper, he recalled. As much as he wanted to warm up to her, Anna had never given him a chance to do so. But then again, their encounters were mostly because Anna wanted Elsa to go back, something about being needed in the kingdom, she said. He was reluctant to let his darling Elsa go, but he knew he must. Duties should come above all else, and Elsa was technically a princess of the underwater kingdom of Arendelle.
Sometimes he wondered if he was being selfish, keeping her to himself, courting her as if their union wasn’t frowned upon, forbidden. But before he could ponder further, he felt her shift in his arms. Elsa held his hand delicately, before lifting it up to press a loving kiss on his knuckles, and his heart swell at the gesture.
‘I’m so glad to have you, Hans,’ she said, looking up at him with those big blue eyes he adored so much.
Reaching up to tuck a few blonde strands that were framing her face behind her ear, Hans cupped her cheek, holding her face and kissing her forehead. He nuzzled her blond hair for a little longer, inhaling the floral smell of the flower crown resting upon her head—his gift for her to celebrate their special day, commemorating the anniversary of their first meeting.
‘I’m glad to have you too, Elsa.’
Relaxing back in his embrace, Elsa hummed in contentment. She couldn’t let him go, not yet, and not ever. She wanted to have him in her life, to hear his soothing voice serenade her, to have his lips pressed against hers, to have his arms around her to carry her as he galloped across the lavender field. And he, too, wanted to experience it all with her. The hope for a happy ending, that everything would be worth it in the end, was inevitable in their book.
For only in each other’s arms could they truly know peace.
Only in each other’s arms could they find solace to dim all the noises of the outside world.
This is the tale of two creatures of different realms who share the purest love, yet deemed forbidden by the spectators.

The prisoner in question has been residing in one of the holding cells of Arendelle’s dungeon, hidden away from public view and banished ( for five years ) from the Southern Isles. For some, his punishment was deemed as a slap on the wrist, but for the prince, it was a humiliating one.
Such a decision to keep the prince in Arendelle was met with a serious protest from Princess Anna. Upon hearing news of her ex-fiancé’s arrival back on Arendelle docks three months ago, she almost went marching to the ship, with the full intention to send a few punches to his face.
Thankfully the reindeer man stepped in and convinced her not to pursue her anger after receiving an urgent request from the monarch to calm the princess. Knowing her sister, she occasionally received a handful of complaints from Anna as she expressed her displeasure over the decision, mostly during dinner. To which, of course, she learned to play deaf each time the princess made her feelings known.
As weeks turned to months, Anna eventually learned to ignore the prince’s existence, only to remind her sister to “be careful” whenever she had to pay a visit to the dungeon. Today, of course, marks another once-in-a-week visit– which she begrudgingly fulfilled as part of the Isles’ agreement.
“Good evening, Your Majesty. To what do I owe the pleasure of your company today?”
A cheery voice greets her as soon as her icy heels step inside his cell, however, she knew exactly why he assumed the tone whenever she’s here for a visit.
“I’m only here out of an obligation.”
“How kind of you.”
With an exasperated sigh, she took a seat on a wooden chair situated just opposite his bed, where a click was heard as the cell door closed behind them. She knew he was being sarcastic, as usual, but she learned over time not to take anything he said to heart.
After all, how can she trust him after everything?
“Have you eaten?”
“Of course, whatever Your Majesty served, I ate them all. Beggars can’t be choosers, no?”
He quipped, still standing at the far end of the cell as the dimly lit room vaguely highlighted his slim physique. Hans was dressed in a simple white linen tunic and a pair of his navy blue trousers, his hair a little disheveled from the usual; but nothing out of the ordinary.
Their interaction has somewhat improved over the weeks– in the form of biting sarcasm and a more-than-the-weather topic. It is remarkable that the two have overcome animosity by at least pretending to be mildly cordial with each other.
He, of course, seemed to have no problem adapting to his circumstances, clearly aware that Elsa’s grace is merely for diplomacy’s sake. He’s certain she wouldn’t change her views on his attempted murder and betrayal of her younger sister– and he’s not expecting her to do so anyway.
“As long as you’re alive, I suppose.”
“Ouch, that’s a little cold.”
“Good.”
A chuckle soon formed in the prince’s throat, before finally letting out a deep sigh as he said, “So. . . Did anything extraordinarily mundane happen before coming here?”
“. . . Not really. That is, I should count this visit as the ‘exciting’ part of the day– only because I’d rather be anywhere except the study room.”
“You flatter me, Elsa.”
“Don’t.”
She hissed, blue eyes glaring at the auburn prince as she sensed yet another mockery from him.
The second he moved closer toward Elsa, he was seen ( slightly ) limping his way to sit on his bed. As her keen blue eyes noted his rather unusual move, she didn’t bother asking him at first. The second he unintentionally heaved a labored sigh, she began inquiring about his. . well-being. Out of politeness, of course.
“You seemed a little under the weather, are you alright?”
“Do I appear like so?” He asked, sounding a little taken aback by her inquiry.
“It is telling, unfortunately.” She replied, albeit still maintaining an air of distance. The last thing she wanted is to appear genuinely concerned for him.
“Ah, maybe it’ll pass. You have my gratitude, regardless.”
Despite his assurance, she wasn’t sold on that, at least not entirely. The auburn prince carefully claimed a seat on the edge of his bed, a yelp slipped from his mouth and caused him to stumble forward as he lost his balance.
For her, that was exactly the signal she was looking for. She rose up from her seat and rushed forward, kneeling on the floor.
“Hans–”
“No, Your Majesty. I just lost my balance, but thank you.”
He waved a hand to dismiss her, and his eyes appeared shut while he slowly regained his breathing. The fall seemed, apparently, more grave than one would consider, as a normal person would’ve quickly stood back up with an embarrassed laugh.
The blonde, on the other hand, immediately stood up to fetch a portable sconce that hung on the opposite wall of the cell, with the intention to take a closer look at the prince.
Swiftly, Elsa turned around with the sconce in hand. The small flame flickered momentarily as it slowly stabilizes, and she didn’t realize she was holding her breath until the light finally highlighted the prince’s handsome features– only to her realization that his face and his knuckles were badly bruised.
His tunic, as it was somewhat sheer, carried traces of old blood; perhaps his own, which prompted her blue eyes to land on a large makeshift bandage that looked like a piece of old cloth, plastered on the upper right side of his chest.
“Who did this to you?”
Elsa asked, mortified to see the true state of Hans. As much as he was a prisoner, she believed he didn’t deserve to be treated this way.
“Nothing to be worried about, Elsa.”
“I said, who did this to you?”
“Do you want to guess?”
He said, finally regaining his energy to stare defiantly at the queen. For a moment, she hesitates. Her hand instinctively reached out to touch his face, which he surprisingly didn’t deflect. The cooling sensation that permeated from her palm made him grimace in return, all because the bruising pain he received recently hadn’t completely subsided. He wouldn’t say it out loud, of course, but it was somewhat nice to feel her soft cool hand against his skin– a relief, yes.
“The guards did this to you, isn’t it?”
“A custom for dungeon dwellers. Besides, Arendelle isn’t the only kingdom with this practice.”
“Still.”
“You’re too naïve.”
“I’ll send for a doctor right away. And I'll have a word with the guards after this."

One Last Goodbye
Tumblr media
Majesties Elsa and Anna exchanged one last look before walking away from the altar set up between the two tombstones. It had already begun to get dark, but there was still no sign of the moon's presence. The sisters wore hooded robes that were pulled down creating a small shadow over their faces. Elsa's tunic was grayish white; it wasn't created by magic and it matched the darker color the younger one wore. It was the first time they had worn those tunics, but although the feeling that was in their hearts at that moment was more compatible with the euphoria than with the mourning that the clothes denounced, the women decided by common accord that they would go like this for that moment. Kristoff and his other friends didn't even ask to accompany the sisters, it was just a moment for the two women.
The moon finally begins to show signs that it would appear and that is why, by instinct, the sisters hold hands, if asked, not even they themselves would know who reached out first.
“It's starting” whispers Elsa as the first moonbeam hits the ground and begins to approach the altar as the moon appears in the sky from behind the clouds.
"Do you think it will work?" Anna asks, squeezing her sister's hand. "It still sounds like something hard to believe."
“Yelana said it would work, even though it's been almost forty years since anyone has tried.”
“What if it doesn’t?” Anna is looking at her sister who at that moment had her eyes fixed on the altar.
"And if that doesn't work, I promise I'll show you the best memento of them I've ever been able to find in Ahtohallan." Anna makes her shoulders touch Elsa's.
The Queen of Arendelle was skeptical about this whole idea, even after learning of Sissel and Inger's history. But she also knew that magic was still a great mystery even for Yelana who knew many stories and legends, legends that she had passed on to Honeymaren who in turn passed them on to Elsa in one of their dozens of conversations they had together walking through the Enchanted Forest.
Once again Anna looks up into her older sister's face, she is still amazed at how these years have changed them since the day of Elsa's coronation. Back then Elsa was afraid of her own magic and now she got anxious whenever she discovered a new magical curiosity. The white blonde's blue eyes sparkle with emotion that finally makes Anna look back at the small building. In the sky, the moon was fully visible in its full form and the light it emitted bathed the altar built by the sisters between the tombstones of their parents, the tombstones of Iduna and Agnarr who at that moment looked at their daughters with a serene expression.
Tumblr media
For a few seconds neither of them can react, it was really their parents wearing the same clothes they had seen before boarding the ship. But they didn't seem to have legs, and in their place was the sort of greenish haze that their bodies were made of.
“My little snow, my little princess” exclaims Iduna accompanied by her husband, which brings the daughters to tears.
“Is that really you” Elsa manages to say as she cries. "I'm very sorry."
"For what reason do you apologize my daughter?" Ask Agnar.
“The trip that took their lives was my fault. You wanted to know more about my powers, a way to help me, but... But-"
“But we make mistakes,” interrupts Iduna. "We didn't see that the answer was right in front of us the whole time." Elsa looked confused but finally looked at Anna who was hugging her.
“We were afraid,” begins Agnarr, “we made the wrong decisions. We were flawed, I was wrong to choose your isolation to protect you instead of love and understanding to go through this together. I don't blame you for hating me Elsa.”
“I would never hate you; I would never hate any of you.
“ But you grew to hate yourself,” Anna finally says, “and blame yourself for the accident when we were kids. Even when we reconciled, I still saw that shadow over his sister. You are not to blame for what happened; It was an accident."
Iduna with her hand turns her husband's face towards her.
“I didn't know what to do at that time either, I was lost too, just wanting our girls to be safe. And I was still afraid to tell the truth about my origin fearing that it would hurt you even more after so many secrets hurt you.”
“Iduna” whispers the man holding her hand tenderly.
Anna looks at her parents and notices that once again clouds begin to cover the moon.
"Are you leaving already? We can't even talk yet, I wanted to talk about my fiance and ask for tips on how to govern-"
“Governing Arendelle” completes Agnarr. “We already know this and yes Elsa, we are proud of you and we understand your decision to go live in the Enchanted Forest and leave the throne to Anna. And it's Elsa you should turn to for advice, always remember that the most important thing is your love for each other and that even when you're apart-"
 “You were together” completes Iduna.
The Snow Queen looks at her mother as she is already crumbling in the fading moonlight.
“And Elsa sends a message to Yelana, tells her that she was like my second mother, that thanks to her teachings and especially her scolding” she laughs “I was able to live a happy life. And please don't ask her about the day I broke my leg, the story is very embarrassing and funny."
 “Noted” replies the daughter.
"Anna" calls Agnarr. “Give my regards to my friend. Mattias and I didn't have many good stories, but he was also very important in my life. I have never forgotten the advice he gave me, ask him for some in times of doubt.”
“Mattias is truly an amazing man.”
The moon was almost completely covered by clouds, but the two still had time for one last moment. All they wanted most was to hug their daughters, but they knew that was impossible and so, without saying anything else, they just gave her one last look, meaning with that simple gesture everything they didn't have time to say. And that was the last goodbye.
Elsa and Anna stayed there for a few more minutes, holding each other, looking at the altar in the middle of the tombstones. They remembered the rules Yelana had explained to them and they knew it was really goodbye, but they were happy for the brief moments and when the two women returned to the castle and found their friends again, they didn't need to ask anything because the smile that the two sisters had on their faces and the way their eyes sparkled was all they needed to know.

✨ Fanfiction Master List ✨
So I never really planned on making a master list for all of my fics, but I figured since it's been almost 3 years since I started sharing my writing on this account, it's probably time that I compress everything to one list (especially since this site can be a bit difficult to navigate).
All of my fics - with the exception of a few that were originally posted on tumblr and have yet to be archived - can be found on my AO3 page and all links posted below will lead to AO3 as well. Descriptions, settings, and ratings all beneath the cut!
Kristanna Multi-Chapter Fics
Still Falling For You - In early 20th century England, Anna, the daughter of an Earl, and Kristoff, a footman employed at her family’s estate, find love in a society where class differences are determined to keep them apart. 1910s/Downton Abbey AU. Rated M. Work in progress.
Change of Pace - With her sister’s blessing, Anna takes a step back from her royal duties and finds herself working for a ski resort nestled in the mountains. A chance encounter with the resort’s maintenance technician leads them down an unexpected path, as they must work together to plan the resort’s annual ball - and maybe fall in love in the process. Modern AU. Rated M. Work in Progress.
In a Crowd of Thousands - When rumors start to swirl that the missing princess is actually alive, two con men convince a naive amnesiac to impersonate the young royal in a plot to deceive the Queen of Arendelle and collect the reward money. Though, their plans are disrupted when Anna and Kristoff begin to fall in love. “In a crowd of thousands, I’d find you again.” 1920s/Anastasia AU. Rated T. Complete.
Written in the Stars - Figuring out how to go on an in-person date during a time of social distancing would be a challenge for anyone. Luckily, it comes easy to Anna and Kristoff, who find a creative way to spend some time with each other amidst a pandemic. Modern AU. Rated T. Work in Progress. (Sequel fic to Serendipity)
Kristanna One Shots
Here's To Us - After agreeing to go to a concert with Sven, Kristoff runs into his high school crush, Anna - who he hasn't seen in years since their friendship ended on a bad note. Modern AU. Rated M. Part of "Kristanna Love Songs Mixtape Volume 1" challenge.
You Hit the Lights and I'll Lock the Doors - The first argument Anna and Kristoff have in their marriage leaves them in uncharted territory, as they each have to decide between their own unrelenting stubbornness and pride over being 'right,' or owning up to their faults and apologizing. Modern AU. Rated T.
The Good Part - Anna and Kristoff have made it to the stage in their relationship where they not only keep each other warm, but where teasing one another has become a regular occurrence. Modern AU. Rated T.
Just Hold Me Close, Don't Ever Let Me Go - Amidst the crime and grime of 1972 New York City, Kristoff's tough, no-nonsense exterior often comes in handy - except when it comes to Anna, who he'll do anything for. 1970s AU. Rated T.
