Snuvestuan (Cottage of the Hulder)

In the Klåveröd recreation area, situated in Skåne County, southern Sweden, you’ll come across a steep cliff with distinct formations. It appears almost as if an immense stack of rectangular stone blocks have been piled horizontally upon each other. This appearance is likely due to the fact that the cliff was once surrounded by a softer, weathered material, allowing it to withstand the pressure from the ancient ice sheet. The cracks in the cliff were formed through a combination of temperature changes and the actions of ice.

Legend has it that, following the geological tumult, a mythical creature called a hulder took up residence in the small cave nestled at the cliff’s base. A hulder (also huldra in Swedish and Norwegian, and snuva in the local dialect) is a supernatural female creature from Scandinavian folklore, known for her guardianship of the forest and its inhabitants.

When I went to check in for another gastroscopy appointment too early this morning, the receptionist printed this out and laminated it to give me. Yep, I had already MORE than hit the high cost protection cap, just since I (finally) got the personnummer issued. Had wondered exactly how that's supposed to work, but the regional health authority apparently just issues cards.

So yeah, no more (relatively minor once you are covered tbh) copays until October at the soonest. 😮‍💨 No idea why this one expires then, but maybe it's a temporary card? That's supposed to be an annual cap. I guess we'll see what's up come October, if nothing else.

Pharmacy copays have a separate cap, for whatever reason. Which might not take long to hit either, even with everything directly connected to diabetes being exempt right off the bat. (For T1, at least. It may be different for other types, idk. But, they really do not want people skimping on the insulin and glucose monitoring. 😬)

The card came as something of a relief, at any rate.
