Bueno, como dijo Jack el Destripador, vayamos por partes:
1. De qué va el libro (dicho mal y pronto):
Stone (el prota) creció en un sótano con un grupo de niños que fueron, junto con él, víctimas de abusos sexuales.
Cuando comienza el libro, ya hace 15 años que escapó y ahora se dedica a perseguir y a matar cruentamente a las personas que estuvieron implicadas.
Brooke es una chica de 16 años oprimida por las expectativas de sus padres, que fingen desesperadamente que tienen un dinero que hace tiempo que se esfumó para intentar mantener su lugar en la sociedad.
Brooke ve por accidente cómo Stone mata a uno de los invitados a su fiesta de cumpleaños y posteriormente la captura con intención de matarla.
Para sorpresa de nadie, no la mata, y a partir de ahí se dedica a secuestrarla periódicamente a lo largo de los años durante breves intervalos de tiempo para interactuar con ella.
2. Mis opiniones sobre el libro (con spoilers):
- La diferencia de edad en libro me resultó un poco incómoda hasta a mí.
- Está mejor en cuanto a consentimiento que el primer libro (porque todo el mundo está consiente en todo momento y todos los eventos de contenido sexual fueron consentidos por ambas partes sin que ninguna estuviera bajo el influjo de las drogas. Cosa que se agradece).
- Peeeero los personajes tienen una conexión menos poderosa que los protagonistas del primer libro.
- Al igual que en el primer libro, la conexión entre los dos es muy creíble, lo cual es gracias exclusivamente a sus respectivos historiales vitales.
- Me gustó la fortaleza callada de la protagonista.
- Me gustó que la protagonista se quedara paralizada ante la violencia porque no está acostumbrada a ella, en especial como contraste frente a la protagonista del primer libro que está inmunizada frente a ella.
- Me aburrió (al igual que la primera parte) cuando llegué al 70% del libro. Lo cual me parece lo más insultante que se puede decir de un libro de romance oscuro.
- Ni este libro ni la primera parte me encantaron, por lo que creo que seguiré leyendo cosas de Annika Martin en solitario, pero no planeo seguir leyendo cosas de Skye Warren.

I didn't know corgi was a welsh word 😯🌟🐶 Can you tell more dog names in welsh?
It's a Welsh breed! Pair of breeds, actually - the little cute one from Pembrokeshire that looks like it belongs on a twee greetings card with a duckling on its head, and the big Carmarthenshire one that looks like it is straining every second of every day not to hunt down a cow and slaughter it. Funnily enough, America has gone feral for corgis, but here in Wales you don't often see pet ones. They don't have the temperament for pet life. I assume it's maybe a working-line Vs pet-line thing, but here their reputation is that they are snappy and aggressive if they aren't very, very carefully raised and handled.
The correct plural is corgwn, btw. Enjoy this knowledge.
Other Welsh breeds with Welsh names:
Llamgi Cymreig - the Welsh springer spaniel. 'Spaniel' is actually Sbaengi, meaning 'Spain dog', so cognate with the English, but llamgi is 'jumping/springing dog'.
Daeargi Cymreig - the Welsh terrier. Daeargi means 'earth dog', because of the traditional chasing things into setts and warrens thing. The Sealyham terrier is daeargi Sealyham, so same thing
And, Ci Defaid Cymreig - the Welsh sheepdog, pretty literal
And then non-Welsh breeds are varyingly named along similar lines. Sbaengi adara - the cocker spaniel (lit 'bird Spain dog'). Sbaengi hela - the English Springer (lit 'hunting Spain dog'). Sbaengi Siarl - the King Charles spaniel (lit 'Charles' Spain dog')
Ci defaid is generically used for collie or sheepdog.
Terriers there are many! I pulled these off of Bruce:
Black-&-tan terrier - daeargi melyn a du (yellow and black earth dog)
Bull-terrier - daeargi tarw
Cairn terrier - daeargi byrgoes (shortleg earth dog)
Fox terrier is fun, it gets DIALECTS. Daeargi/ci codi llwynog (fox-raising earth dog/dog) in the North, ci codi cadno (fox-raising dog) in the South
Irish terrier - daeargi Gwyddelig
Maltese terrier - daeargi Melita
Scotch terrier - daeargi Albanaidd/Sgotaidd
Skye terrier - daeargi Heledd (who is Heledd???)
Toy terrier - corddaeargim (dwarf earth dog! The 'cor' is the same as in corgi)
Yorkshire terrier - daeargi Efrog (York earth dog)
Let's see, what else... Um, adargi is 'retriever' - bird dog, literally. Golden retriever is adargi melyn (yellow bird dog)
Poodle is just pwdl. Cymricised transliteration, innit

Bueno, como dijo Jack el Destripador, vayamos por partes:
1. De qué va el libro (dicho mal y pronto):
Abby es una estudiante universitaria con pasado muy duro. Por un proyecto de clase, tiene que darle clases a reclusos.
Grayson es uno de dichos reclusos. Es un delincuente que fue apresado, precisamente, por un crimen que no cometió.
Cuando Grayson escapa, toma a Abby como rehén y la arrastra con él por todo el país mientras intenta reencontrarse con su grupo de amigos y matar al responsable de que haya acabado en la cárcel y a la persona que abusó de él de pequeño.
2. Mis opiniones sobre el libro (con spoilers):
- Me parece que los protagonistas tienen escenas poderosísimas. Me impactó especialmente la escena del bosque, en la que él la ayuda a superar una crisis de ansiedad.
- Me gustó mucho el modo en que se desarrolló su relación. Me pareció muy creíble la conexión tan rápida que desarrollaron los protagonistas teniendo en cuenta sus respectivos pasados.
- Me gustó especialmente cómo está construido el personaje de Abby y cómo tiene sentido la manera en que reacciona a los eventos violentos y traumáticos que experimenta durante el libro en atención a los eventos violentos y traumáticos que ha vivido previamente.
- Este libro hirió sensibilidades que no sabía que tenía con este género literario en concreto.
Yo al empezar el libro: “bueno, me apetece leer romance oscuro, estoy preparada para dejar absolutamente todos mis principios e ideas preconcebidas sobre el mundo en la puerta”.
El libro: “los dos protagonistas tienen relaciones sexuales por primera vez mientras ella está drogada”.
Yo: “espérate, que aparentemente todavía me quedaba alguno”.
Estimada señora Warren, estimada señora Martin, ¿¿¿de verdad era necesario???
- Me aburrió a partir del 70% (lo cual me parece lo más insultante que se puede decir de un libro de romance oscuro).
- Me pareció muy perezosa toda la imprecisión que había con respecto a cómo exactamente ganan dinero el protagonista y su grupo de amigos/familia. “Somos delincuentes, eso da dinero”. “Ajá, ok, ¿pero qué actos delictivos cometéis exactamente?”. Nunca se supo.
- Me interesó lo suficiente como para leerme la segunda parte, Hostage. A la que no le tenía mucha fe. Cosa que se confirmó.
