BB!MALICIOUS ENTITY: Ancestor Rats
A cruel fate that can befall a shattered pantheon, and the enemies of Firestar's Quietus
Tumblr media
With SkyClan homeless and exiled at the end of the Skyfall Era, StarClan itself was in chaos. 1/5th of their ranks broke from the sky to walk with their descendants into exile, with only some of the most powerful ancestors staying behind.
Skystar himself, Patron of War, was one of them. He scoffed that a Clan that couldn't hold even a sliver of land had failed his teachings, and deserved nothing.
Scores of cats died in exile, starved, exposed, killed by predators. Cloudstar desperately tried to keep his cats together as SkyClan dwindled. Soon, there were barely enough cats to maintain a Clan, let alone such a large pantheon.
When Cloudstar died, his successor Spiderstar found herself facing a new threat. One she couldn't defeat.
Over and over, there were rats who would attack the camp. Horrible, twisted creatures of many colors, with sharp claws like a cat and jaws full of needle teeth. They swirled like a storm around a central point, wound so tightly that it was impossible to see what lay at the eye.
While watching baby spiders fly away from their mother on little silk balloons, Spiderstar devised a Great Plan. SkyClan would live apart but connected, loosely, like a web. The Rats could not kill what they could not find.
As she watched her Clan disperse, some to humans homes, some to live as rogues, the blood roared in her ears. It pounded, throbbed into a rythmn, until the words of a prophecy became overwhelming,
"EEK SHARRARRAM SSARSHAIWO!"
[Rat ancestors disastrous-they-will-kill]
Could this be true? Would their ancestors save them from the rats, someday?
Tumblr media
(Below the cut; a guide to Ancestor Rats and how they are dealt with in Firestar's Quietus. CONTENT WARNING: BODY HORROR, GORE.)
Firestar's Quietus; The Secret of the Rats
Exactly as before, when Firestar and the spirit of Brokenstar gathered the SkyClan web together, the rats had one point of attack. They washed over the soon-to-be warriors in a wave, but they were able to fight them off.
Skywatcher laid on his side in the clearing, trembling and wide eyed, covered in horrible bites. At first they could barely get a word out of him, too shaken to speak. When he was finally able to force a word out, he could only mumble;
"I saw Lowbranch. That was my mother..."
And then, someone else came forward, sharing that one rat had the same stripes as their brother. Another recognized their son's tufts on another's ears. The camp buzzed with tension as the stories bubbled forth.
Everyone recognized something in the rats.
Something had happened to their ancestors. Something terrible. It became clear why they had never answered their prayers or sent a hero to save them. Brokenstar tried to reach them, but he could only hear a command echoing in the darkness.
"Neek urrspeekorreen urrsnyarhak, karrl urrsnakochya." "THAT WHICH CANNOT BE FIXED, MUST BE BROKEN"
It was only later, when they went to confront the rats once and for all, that they realized what those words meant. Stumbling out into the dim light out of the barn, they saw them.
Tumblr media
Those weren't just rats!
And the most horrible thing of all was the atrocity behind it all, the creature at the center of the swirling, agonized mass, the eye of the storm...
The Rat Leader; Cloudstar
Tumblr media
He promised to keep his Clan together. So he did.
As each life wasted away and his Clan dwindled, smaller and smaller, as their heaven crumbled above them and became too tiny to hold their ancestors, Cloudstar kept them in one piece.
When he died, that mission continued. Trapped as this cursed creature, Cloudstar was mindlessly commanding his cats like a storm around him, dragging in both the dead and the living in a desperate attempt to save the Clan he'd vowed to protect.
SkyClan could not mend until this curse was broken. These fallen angels needed to be released, by force, to rejoin a new heaven of modern making. Slipping into the body of Firestar, Brokenstar was able to lend all of his talents for one final fight. It was just like being back at Carrionplace.
With his purpose as the fallen 5th tree, a guardian spirit, fulfilled and the rats freed from their prisons, Brokenstar's soul grew sleepy with peace. Firestar buried the acorn necklace that he had used to channel him overlooking the gorge, where it quickly sprouted into a new oak.
Rat Ancestors; Tome of Beasts
Tumblr media
When an afterlife is destroyed, through mass death or supernatural attack, and the spirits within it cannot peacefully fade away or join a new pantheon, all of its souls can become earth-bound.
There are many types of entities and curses in this world, each one completely unique. Ancestor Rats are the form that this pantheon took.
From a distance, an Ancestor Rat could be mistaken for an odd, escaped domestic rodent. Their faces were an unsettling mix of rat and cat, with teeth laid out like a cat's but endlessly growing like a rat. They had the blade-like claws of a Clan cat, tearing through the skin and laying at various angles.
They had no physical needs, but were unable to handle being separated from their leader. Cloudstar himself, however, did need to rest in some way, returning to the barn where he died every day.
When one was killed, it would flash blue as if briefly turning into a shard of the sky, before leaving a completely standard rat corpse in its place. As long as Cloudstar was alive, the pulsar of each spirit would simply be dragged back into another rat after some time.
There was no escape until he was killed.
After the defeat of the Ancestor Rats, the spirits moved on to SkyClan's special heaven; Skypelt. Even after moving to the lake, Skypelt maintains its independence from Silverpelt, judging its own souls and staying separate (but connected) to StarClan-Prime.
With an abundance of rat bodies on their paws, SkyClan started a morbid tradition for a very special celebration. "The New Day" is celebrated every year with a grand feast, where a traditional rat meat dish called "Roasted Grandpaw" is served.

Skyclan's Rescue
Or
The Scorching Sun and the Storming Rot
In the Recent Past
Skystar, once the too-proud leader and Founder of Skyclan, looks down from the edge of Starclan upon the gorge.  Skywatcher is laying in the sun, blind eyes content and peaceful next to a kittypet tortoiseshell queen.  Kits play with balls of moss, warriors bring prey to their elders, and queens share tongues with collared kittypets.
Disgusting.
How DARE Starclan do this to HIS Clan!  First, they curse Skyclan’s tree to rot, then BANISH the BEST CLAN in the Territories, and now?! Now it’s all the dregs of felinehood – kittypets and loners, playing at being HIS CLAN because Starclan thought it was AMUSING!?!  HOW DARE THEY!!!
Skyclan should be regimented and only Clanblood!  Kits should be learning to hunt already!  Elders should be working until their appointed deaths! Queens should be subservient to their leader, not BE ONE!! Warriors should be KILLING these DUNGFACED KITTYPETS!!!!!  This is NOT HIS Skyclan, not a Proper Skyclan…if that blasted brother of his hadn’t stepped in, if those foolish Leaders hadn’t stepped in, if the STARS BE BLASTED Spirits hadn’t stepped in-
He tore at the ground beneath him in fury, hackles bristling and spittle flying as he raged.  Not even his mate, his beautiful malicious Star Flower, could understand him…she wanted power, oh how she wanted it all, but she was unwilling to endanger the power that Starclan gave their residents…but what was this power if his legacy was so muddled?
Skystar sighed, and turned his gaze from the ABOMINATION of a Clan the Stars wanted, but a flash of ginger caught his eye.  He turned back curiously – this was a familiar figure.  The ragged cat often prowled the edge of the territory, staring hatefully at the so-called Leafstar.  Skystar leaned in, hearing the tom rail against the group, clawing the turf as he screamed.  How DARE they reject him – how DARE that MOLLY be in charge – how DARE they banish him for his schemes!!  HE should be leader, pampered and protected!  He, Harry, should be the one in control!
Oh, now this is promising…
Skystar saw himself, in the days after the Spirits descended – powerless, but deserving of all he wished.  Now this cat – Half-Clanblooded at least – this cat had PROMISE.  So Skystar leapt, bounding through a suddenly storming sky, and appeared before the maned cat.
I can give you power, said Skystar, I can give you that and more.  All you have to do is get rid of that False Leader, and that Old Fool.  I am Skystar, and together, we will turn these lands into the most powerful Clan the world will ever see!  Harry, at first wildly afraid of the Literal Ghost that dropped from the stormclouds, smirked.  How could a dead cat give me anything?  Skystar’s face broke into a vicious grin – I will give your clever words Power, to ensnare and beguile and terrify – just take my paw.
Harry hesitated for only a moment before agreeing, and extended a paw.  Skystar took it, and the wind howled around them, thunder rumbling a warning.  The shadows surged as rain whipped around them, stop stop STOP!
Behold, intoned Skystar, the Sun who rules the Skies!  Behold SOL!  (his back bulged with eyes, starless and sightless, a Geist of wild power being born of pettiness and hate) Harry – no, Sol - grinned maniacally, with a golden glow hidden behind his teeth.  He knew JUST who to talk to, just who to…Recruit…to take over the Clan…and now they All would Listen…
And in Starclan, Grey Wing looked down in horror.  Oh brother, what have you done?
The Journey to the Gorge and The Crisis
The combined group of Clowder and Clan cats set out on a sunny Newleaf morning.  Maguyver, as the one with the most Patrolling and Scouting experience, leads the group.  Frostfur and Hollowback, the most mobile of the Clan Elders, are helped along by a prospective Seer named Echo.  Loudbelly, who has gone nearly blind, is guided by Vespa, whose blindness has never stopped her before, and the hearty Bagel.  Yewtail leans heavily on the massive tom Hassle, and Mudfur keeps company with Lavinia, a pretty young molly who wants to be a Healer, and Pasqual, who hides shyly behind Lavinia most of the time. Mutter the Scout keeps the younger cats Gorgon, Spatter, and Jangle in line.  They make their way past Twolegs and thunderpaths, through old forests and over winding waters.  And within a remarkable amount of time, the Rescue Patrol has arrived at the edge of a marked territory.  Strangely, the sky is cloudy and the air heavy.  The group settles into a hollow log for the night, and the next morning Mutter scouts ahead.
They return with news – there IS a group of cats in the Gorge ahead, but something is terribly wrong.  There are cats forcing Elders to clean the camp, and kits barely old enough to eat solids are picking the prey clean! Queens are being intimidated by brutes, and the Rogues – they MUST be Rogues – are led by a ginger, brown and white Tom.  Everyone is shocked and horrified – Frostfur moans at the thought of kittens in danger, and Bagel has to hold Loudbelly back from charging over and fighting the Rogues.  Macguyver asks Echo, who has the clearest Visions of Skyclan, who the Leader was.  She pauses, then points up to a nearby tree.  Her, she says, and a mottled tortie drops from the branches, followed by a ginger tom and several other cats, all collared or harnessed.
The tortie glares at the Rescue Patrol – who are you, and how do you know me?  Did Sol send you!?  Macguyver steps in – no, Starclan sent us!  Mudfur joins him, then Frostfur and Echo.  We Saw you were in danger, Echo intones, and have come to offer our aid.  Mudfur explains that he and the other Elders are from the Clans, and that they came to help of their own volition.  The Tortie rears back, and looks over the group, finally seeing the Elders for what they were.  Hope glinting in her eyes, she introduces herself as Leafdapple, and after calling over her allies, tells them what’s happened.
She had met Skywatcher, who had been gathering cats to form a Clan.  She had become his right-paw cat, a deputy in all but name, as Skywatcher has refused to be named Leader.  After some time, a tom named Harry had asked to join.  They accepted him, but quickly understood something was wrong.  He was a decent hunter, and somewhat interested in herbs, but would consistently try to sabotage other cats.  He had led clanmates into rats and dogs, stolen prey from under the paws of others, and probably would have poisoned someone if not caught.  But he was clever with his words, and it took him kitnapping Leafdapple litter, to “save” them, for him to be banished.  But he had returned…changed somehow.
He had a group of Rogues and Loners behind him, all either blank-eyed or bloodthirsty, and had overrun camp.  The kits had been taken, and their few elders forced into work.  Leafdapple and her Daylight Warriors – kittypets who returned to their homes at night – had escaped…but they’d lost several Warriors.  Skywatcher had been taken by some of the Rogues, and Sol, as he called himself now, paid them in prey that SHOULD have been feeding the Queens, kits, and Elders.  And every time the survivors planned some rescue or communication, he saw them coming!  They’d nearly lost several cats, and had been begging the stars for help.  But, Leafdapple sniffled, she never expected help to come after this long.  Had thought they had been forgotten.
And a voice rings out from above.
We did not forget you.
All look up, and a swirl of stars descend, and six starry cats materialize.  Willowpelt greets the Hope Clowder cats, and then introduces herself and the other Starclan cats to the stunned Skyclan cats.  Here, she says, is Cloudstar, who ruled Skyclan when it was wrongly Banished. This is Bumble and Turtle Tail, who helped found Thunderclan and redeem Skyclan in its early days.  And these are Jagged Peak and Grey Wing, who helped found all the Clans, with their kindness and cleverness.  I am Willowpelt of Thunderclan, and we know what has happened here – and we together, living and beyond, will defeat Sol.
And everyone has Reactions to this.  Mudfur and the Clan cats nod sagely, with Frostfur delighted to meet the first Crafter.  The Hope’s Rest Clowder cats are bouncing around, knowing Willowpelt from her frequent visits to the Clowder.  And the Skyclan cats are…wary.  Hopeful, but everything that has happened has made them hardened to any hope that comes.  Grey Wing apologizes to Skyclan for taking so long, and for not stopping Sol from gaining his Cursed Blessing of controlling others with his words, but that the Storming Rot - a cat he once called brother but is now a Stargeist - had been blocking them from helping, but the Clan cats and Clowder cats had essentially carried them here.  He then offers blessings to the cats – hiding them from the Stargeist and enhancing their senses until Sol and the Abomination are defeated, and Leafdapple is given her nine lives officially.  Leafdapple is elbowed by Billystorm, and she agrees, with stars in her eyes and hope in her heart.
Loudbelly asks that if he is blessed, that he be given the joints and senses of his youth, that he might rescue the prisoners.  The other Elders agree, with Hollowback noting that from Leafdapple’s description, Modern Skyclan has only Warriors, Queens, and Elders – no Camp Guards or Crafters or Herbalists or even a Healer, and simply asks for enough time to pass on his crafts, which the other Elders agree with as well.  Bumble and Jagged Peak are all for this.
The air smells of ozone and fresh snow, of mossy stones, of petrichor and heathered fields; the air shines like Silverpelt on moonless nights; and the air flexes like claws in battle.  The elders stretch and twist, like year-aged cats instead of well-lived elders.  Vespa notes that she can hear even farther than before, and Spatter leaps up a tall tree in only a few seconds.  Leafdapple laughs as her Daylight warriors bounce about like apprentices.  Turtle Tail promises her that she will receive her lives after they rescue Skywatcher, as he deserves to see his Clan get the Leader it deserves.
And as the Starclan Cats return to the skies, the living begin to plan.
The Rescue
The next day, Frostfur wanders into a Rogue patrol, and feigns that she had been looking for a place to bring her grandkits to live.  She toddles through camp, counting the prisoners, the blank-eyed and controlled, and the loyal Rogues.  She never sees Sol, and leaves the Rogues with seemingly giddy promises to return with her family.  The best lies are honesty, and she WILL be bringing cats she calls family there.  The skies are a little clearer, and in the shadows, something twists unhappily.
Mudfur, Lavinia, Pasqual, and Echo start gathering herbs for the coming skirmishes.  Pasqual and Lavinia are obviously mates, but had no issues in the Clowder.  Mudfur admits to having had a mate before becoming a Healer, and that another Oracular Healer, Fireheart, had been working behind the scenes to make it that any Healer might take a mate.  Echo, while preparing cobwebs, notes that she has never wanted a romantic relationship, and is assured that such a thing is absolutely fine.
Mutter and Harveymoon scout out where Skywatcher is kept – a small Twoleg nest kept by a Rogue named Dodger and his group.  Late that night, Hollowback and Leafdapple sneak in while Maguyver and Hassle bother Dodger out front with Sharpclaw and Ebonyclaw.  Skywatcher wakes to Leafdapple carrying him out, with Hollowback watching her tail.  A clattering from a Twoleg Thing (which Macguyver calls a trash can) sends the distraction cats hurtling back to the makeshift camp, and the Skyclan cats welcome their old friend back.  The full moon is but two nights away, and then Skywatcher will see his protégé become the Leader he Foresaw.  The clouds let the sky peak through, and the air is lighter with the promises of new life.
The next morning, Yewtail, Hollowback, Bagel, and Gorgon start setting up traps for the Rogues.  The invaders out to hunt found themselves stuck in pits, caught up in sticky honey and chased by bees, and every attempt at hunting thwarted.  This went on as the time until the full moon came. The day of the full moon, Macguyver, Hassle, and Bagel stroll up to the captured camp, and loudly demand that Sol meet with them.  The lanky Heretic oozes over, and Macguyver proclaims that he is represents the leader of a Clowder that wants the Gorge.  Hassle quietly states that unless Sol meets with them the next morning, that the Clowder will attack.  Bagel giddily purrs that maybe Sol can talk their leader into sharing instead of conquest.  Sol sneers, and agrees, but demands the meeting be at a particular clearing.  The deal is made, and the three cats trot off, content that the next step of the plan is complete.
The night came, and the free Skyclan cats and the Rescue Patrol gathered in a clearing.  The sky was, for once, clear of the strange clouds that gathered, and the moon and stars shone clearly. Leafdapple and Skywatcher sit together, and Echo calls upon Starclan to bless this Leader with nine lives, and the Wisdom of the Stars to guide Starclan.  The skies glitter and gleam, and six familiar Starclan spirits descend, followed by three unfamiliar spirits, that wait farther back from the rest.  The other living cats watch in awe and wonder.
Nine Lives and Three Precedents
Cloudstar greets Leafdapple and Skywatcher, thanking the molly for her care and the Elder for his enduring faith in them.  He then gives Leafdapple her first life, for having Enduring Faith in her Clan, the Stars, and herself.  Willowpelt rubs her head companionably against Leafdapple’s shoulder and gives her a life for Second Chances. Jagged Peak makes her laugh at a particularly bad pun (don’t worry, your reign won’t be a Cat-astrophe!) and gives her a life for Good Humor In Bad Times. Turtle Tail compliments her cunning, and gives her a life for Defending The Defenseless. Bumble smiles sweetly and gives her a life for Finding Joy In The Small Things. And Grey Wing approaches, I’m so proud of you, keeping your Clan as safe as you could in these times; he bestows a life for Knowing When To Ask For Aid.  And then he beckons the three spirits forward.
Three cat spirits wearing kittypet collars.
A grey tipped molly steps forward, introducing herself as Smoke.  Her face twists sadly, as she tells of loving a clan cat who rejected her, and dying to protect her kit.  Leafdapple apologizes for her having to go through such events, and Smoke smiles sadly.  My son is happy now, with a better father than his sire ever could have been.  Smoke then gives Leafdapple a life for Love and Affection, giving Billystorm a side-glance and a smile.  He flushes, and several cats break the solemn air with hoots, cackles, and coos.
The next cat steps forward, introducing himself as Jake.  He speaks of having an adventure with a Clan Cat, and falling in love with him.  Even after they were parted, he remembered the strength and faith of that tom.  He sighs, and remarks that his feelings for a cat he would never see again kept him from having any other relationships.  Jake steps forward, and gives Leafdapple a life for Knowing When To Let Go, and hopes that she will be a better parent than he was in life.
The last cat steps up, a tortoiseshell as well, but with a flat face.  I was named Wishkit at my birth, but was known as Nutmeg for the rest of my days. I was born a Clan Cat, lived as a Kittypet, and bore Kittypets, Clan Cats, and Hopeful Cats.  I give you your final life for Balance and Adaptability – may you find a way no matter the obstacles.  Welcome, Leafstar. Leafstar! The cry is raised, by the living and the dead.  Leafstar! LEAFSTAR!! LEAFSTAR!!!
(elsewhere, the Stargeist shakes and writhes, its eyes multiplying and mind fracturing.  something is wrong.  something has gone terribly wrong)
The Confrontation
The dawn comes, and Sol approaches the meeting grounds, his loyal Rogues at his side.  He left the controlled behind to guard the camp, knowing that Leafdapple would never be able to break the Power he holds over them – only the Stars could do that, and they cannot walk here. Sol scoffs, then looks up as the black and white cat from before appears.  My leader will be here shortly, he says confidently, they wished to be prepared for negotiations.
At camp, the controlled cats and a few loyal Rogues guard the den where the prisoners are held.  Suddenly, Loudbelly slams into the first Rogue, followed by Sharpclaw, Ebonyclaw, and Hassle.  Leafstar leaps onto the first controlled cat – Patchfoot shakes his head, and the green bleeding back into his eyes.  Petalnose embraces Rainfur as he comes back to himself, both weeping in relief.  The Rogues scatter, and the apprentices and Elders cry out in joy.  Leafstar, having freed Shortwhisker, calls out to them – come with me, we have a meeting to get to!
Sol spits angrily – time has passed, and the only cats to show are the black and white tom, an elderly brown tom, and a few hideous youngsters.  Where is your leader, you dung faced freaks?!?
Here I am, Harry. Here we all are.
Sol spins in shock – Leafdapple stares him down, rage in her eyes. Next to her is that white cat he heard wanted to join.  But behind her, behind her are his prisoners!  And his Controlled Cats! Whu-how!?  You have no power, Leafdapple! Sol sputters, and the dratted molly snarls at him – My Name Is Leafstar!
No.
NO!
A horrible noise echoes from the trees, and a twisted creature of eyes and wings and cat claws launches, bringing a stench of rot and illness.  It leaps towards Leafstar, who dodges and screeches a war cry.  Suddenly the trees are filled with cats, charging into the Rogues and scattering them.  As the Stargeist twists to attack her, a pair of shapes slam into it like meteorites – Grey Wing and Turtle Tail.  Sol does not stick around to find out how this goes, running at top speed away.  The Starclan Cats batter and shred the former Founder, and Grey Wing tears the belly of the beast.  With a sound like bones breaking and stars dying, the Stargeist faded away, with all the grace of a fish out of water.  Clear Sky – Skystar – was dead.
The Rogues scattered, and Skyclan rejoiced. The gorge was retaken, the Elders enstated in honor, and the Clowder cats gladly joining up.  The Cultures of the four Clans join with the Ancient Skyclan Culture.  Echosong teaches Frecklepaw to heal, and Lavinia and Pasqual celebrate a litter. Hawkpaw and Pebblepaw fall in love, and Hawkwing and Pebbleshine watch the world go by.
Within a year, all the elders passed into Starclan, at peace that the future would hold wonders…even if it held pain as well.
(in the stars, a fading golden molly snarls and grieves. How dare someone take her mate from her)
Time passed.
(Rain seethed, his glorious leader had left him – but he would destroy the Clans himself.  He would fall on them, like his namesake…)
(Late one night, Leafstar and Billystorm are awoken by Skywatcher’s spirit.  She startles awake, as her old friend screams.
RUN!  WAKE THE CLAN AND RUN!
More wails of danger shake the air, and Leafstar bolts from her den.  Frostfur is loading Macguyver with kits, Mudfur is shaking Frecklepaw awake, Loudbelly is rallying the Brawlers and Warriors.  Hollowback is shoving apprentices out of their dens with a frantic Jangle, and Yewtail is helping Echosong load up on herbs.
A cry splits the night. Followed by more and more and more.
Rogues pour into camp.
The Clan scatters.
Rain laughs wildly – Skyclan is no more! Scattered like leaves! Like prey!
But there will be five clans.
One Day.

Alfred & Matt, Stargazing
It’s a clear summer night, perfect for spotting stars. Two brothers bond, sharing science and admiring the universe. I wrote this ages ago for @hwsnabroszine and now I can finally share it. Please enjoy!
Tumblr media
A Girl Called Hubble
“What’s going to happen to her?” Matthew inquires.
Alfred glances up from his personal telescope, a flashlight highlighting his golden features in the midnight dark. “Huh? What do you mean?”
“The Hubble telescope. Is she...?”
“Oh.” There’s a touch of sadness in Alfred’s tone, which trickles into the soft symphony of crickets, cicadas, and other rural evening sounds. Looking away, he resumes fiddling with the dials on his viewfinder. “I mean, she’s not being decommissioned yet. I think NASA has some plans for joint missions with Webb, so that’ll add a few more years to her life. Eventually though, maybe in a decade, they’ll make an announcement. Most likely... she’ll be set on a course to collide with the atmosphere and burn up.”
Matthew blinks. That seems... harsh, even if Hubble is just a machine.
He rolls the chunky flashlight around in his hands, an industrial strength thing that Alfred keeps in his pickup truck for emergencies and stargazing nights like this. Its synthetic light cuts through the natural darkness, tracing the outline of fluttering moths and the wild grasses stomped flat by Alfred’s tires. Matthew tilts it to better illuminate his brother’s work and nibbles his bottom lip.
“How come?” Matthew eventually asks.
Alfred hums. “Well, she’s past her expiry date. You've got to remember, some of Hubble’s machinery was built back in the 80’s. If something important fails, like her guidance system, she could become another hunk of space debris, zooming uncontrollably around the Earth. And that’s a huge risk for space flights, satellites, and the ISS. It’s sad, but I mean... it has to happen.”
He goes quiet for a moment, but not for long. Never for long. In an instant, he turns to Matthew with a big grin on his face, his eyes shining brilliantly behind his glasses. “Hey, want to hear something cool?”
Matthew sighs, but can’t help smiling. “Sure.”
“Did you know that even a tiny screw bolt travelling at 4 miles a second is strong enough to punch through a tank? There’s no atmosphere in outer space to slow it down, so it can just keep going faster and faster. Pretty wild, huh?”
“Yeah. You mention that, like, every single time we talk about space.”
“Wait, really? Damn. I guess I should start throwing some different facts your way! Have I told you about black holes and event horizons?”
“Yup.”
“How about neutron stars? Oh! Or quasars?”
“Uh-huh.”
“...the Goldilocks Zone? You know, there are actually a bunch of habitable planets in the TRAPPIST-1 system. And it’s only 40 lightyears away from Earth!”
“You bring that up literally every time you have a new theory about aliens.”
Alfred tuts. “Well... shit.”
Matthew's smile turns sheepish. “Sorry.”
“S’all good.” Alfred taps open his phone, double-checking his night sky tracking app, mouth twisted into the same, familiar pout from his childhood.
The warm summer breeze overtakes their talk, rustling Canada’s hair and t-shirt. From his seat in the truck bed, surrounded by threadbare blankets and pillows, he swings his feet. Humid air drags up the faint scent of dried corn husks, hay, and whatever else was once grown in this long-abandoned farm field. The sky is gorgeous tonight; barely a cloud to be seen, it glitters with starlight and far-flung galaxies. Alfred picked a good night for skywatching.
Originally, they came out here for a special reason, bringing along Alfred’s private, civilian-use telescope. It is massive, about the size of England’s old armchair, but mobile with its tripod, and probably the most expensive on the amateur astronomy market. They parked Alfred’s truck in the middle of the field, set up his device, and saw it: just a speck in the giant magnifying lens, insignificant against the stars, but it was there. The new James Webb space telescope. A cosmic daffodil with goldenrod mirrors spread wide. A novel machine that will help humanity see and understand the universe.
They stared at it for minutes, then an hour, as Alfred geeked out, listing its many capabilities and functions. But then, after he finally ran out of things to say, after they glimpsed Jupiter and Mars, Sagittarius and Ursa Major, Alfred suggested they stick around a while more to view Hubble when she, too, crosses the night sky.
Despite the heat, Matthew drags a cotton blanket over his shoulders. “That James Webb telescope is going to show us some amazing things.”
“It sure is,” Alfred mutters.
“...Although, I’m a little sad that Hubble is running out of time. She took some amazing photos, too. Right?”
“Yeah.”
“You okay?”
Alfred pauses before giving Matthew a look. “...C’mon dude, you don’t have to make me feel better.” Matthew shrugs. Alfred turns to the sky, the expanse, voice going quiet. “She’s just a piece of equipment. I don’t get all upset over every Ford F-150 that ends up in the scrap yard.”
Matthew picks at a loose thread on his blanket, unconvinced. Having known his brother for centuries, it’s easy to tell when Alfred is being disingenuous. He was morose when the Opportunity rover went dark. Distant, after learning that in 2025, no one will be able to contact Voyager 1. And when he eventually realised that Curiosity sings Happy Birthday to itself, every year, all alone on Mars... well.
“I think Hubble is a lot more special than a pickup truck.”
“Meh.”
“Stinky gas-guzzlers.”
Alfred’s lips twitch and Matthew knows he’s on the right track. “Hey, don’t shit-talk my trucks.”
“And more expensive, too. By, like, a few BILLION dollars.”
Alfred’s expression cracks and he chuckles. “Sure, okay. You’ve got me there.”
A weight lifts in Matthew’s chest and his restless legs swing higher, sneaker laces tapping his heels to the tune of his heart.
Then, Alfred checks his phone once more. He suddenly lights up. Ducking down to look through the scope’s eyepiece, he shouts with joy. “Hey! She’s here! Come on, come over here and see.”
Matthew’s eyes go wide. He shimmies, sliding off the truck bed and tossing his blanket aside. Hopping over to Alfred, who steps aside, he peeks through the scope, glasses clinking against the viewfinder. And there she is, in all her tin-can glory.
Surrounded by the dark sea of space, Hubble looks so very small, even with the aid of Alfred’s chunky telescope. Her solar panels are extended like squarish wings, helping her soar high above the world. One of the many machines floating through outer space that fuels imaginations and wins affection, satisfying the universal thirst for knowledge with each photo and landmark discovery.
Grass crunches as Alfred shuffles his feet. He doesn’t launch into a lesson on astrophotography or detail the known nebulae. He says nothing, silence stretching far beyond the atmosphere. Then, murmuring: “She might have been expensive, but she was worth it. She was worth every single penny.”
Matthew rights himself and peers at Alfred’s silhouette. The faint glow of the Milky Way, a great band of lustrous cloud, stretches behind him. Matthew doesn’t raise the flashlight to catch his brother’s expression. He doesn’t need to.
“I’m sorry, Al.”
A dark arm comes up to knead the back of Alfred’s neck. Quietly, he sighs.
“...Thanks. I’ll be okay. She’s still around for a while longer.”
The night rolls on, the stars turn overhead, and soon, Hubble is out of sight. Sailing across the sky, lenses facing the distant heavens, dutifully, she will record all she can. Until her instruments expire and her circuits give out, she will inspire Alfred, Matthew, and the entire human world.

Author’s Notes
I had to fudge a few things, scientifically, in order to make this fic work. Because of its orbiting pattern, Hubble is best seen between the 28th parallel north and the 28th parallel south. So, if you live near the equator, you can easily see Hubble with a telescope. Being further north or south of those latitudes makes spotting it trickier. Despite this, I decided to put Alfred and Matt in a corn field, rather than on a beach at the southern tip of Florida. I preferred the vibe, since corn fields are often connected to outer space in American stories (see: 2014’s Interstellar and multiple films featuring aliens.)
The JWST is also hard to spot. For starters, it’s very, very far away. If you’re able to spot it, it’ll just look like a dot, even with the aid of a telescope. Depending on which way the mirrors are facing, it's visible when it catches the Sun’s rays, or it’s completely black when tilted away. And unlike Hubble, it doesn’t orbit Earth. It orbits the Sun. So, the math involved in spotting it is... way harder than what I can manage on my own. Let’s just pretend that Alfred is a god-king at astronomy and knows exactly when and where to point his telescope to view the JWST.
Being an amateur astronomy nerd, I loved writing this fic. However, I tried not to weigh things down with too much technical jargon. If you're interested in learning more about space (and some of the things mentioned in this story, like neutron stars and black holes), please check out ‘SciShow Space’ on Youtube, or visit NASA’s official website. ❤

Dreams aren't always pleasant
(Falling in Reverse Au/Reverse Batfam)
Chapter 6 (Final Chapter)
"Back so soon?" Jason asked standing across the rooftop.
"Afraid so," Damian said stepping forward "I'm-"
"Not from this Earth" the redhead smirked "Oracle brought me up to speed"
"I need you to do me a favor," Damian said meeting his gaze.
Timeskip
"Who is this?" Tim looked over at Jason suspiciously.
"A friend," Damian said walking over to him.
"I didn't know you had frie-Sorry force of habit.." Tim trailed off sheepishly.
"Don't worry I have three brothers I'm used to it" He reassured Tim "So you're sure this will get me home?" Tim gave a nod "Thank you" he turned over to Jason "Remember our deal?"
"Yeah yeah," Jason said rolling his eyes "You are so much chatter than our wing"
"Not as cold thought" Tim observed.
"Yeah that's thanks to a couple of people I know" Damian answered 'including you'
Timeskip
"Hello?" As soon as he walked into the living room two sets of footsteps came racing down the stairs.
     "Dami!" Dick practically tackled him.
"Where have you been?!" Jason crossed his arms.
"Nice to see you too Jay" Damian rolled his eyes getting up "Where are the others?"
"Cass and Tim are out looking for you" Dick answered still hugging Damian.
"Bruce had a JL emergency so Wally is 'babysitting us' " Jason explained.
"And where is West?" Damian looked at his younger brother suspiciously.
"Jay put a tranquilizer in his food then locked him up in the bat cave" Dick grinned.
"He wouldn't stop ruffling my hair!"
One week later
Damian stood in the kitchen where he was supposed to be getting popcorn for his siblings, instead, he was deep in thought. He had gotten back a week ago and one question had been eating away at him.
'Had I acted out of love or guilt?'
"Did you get lost?" Tim smirked leaning in the doorway.
"Lost in thought" Damian replied finally pulling out the popcorn.
"Something wrong?" Tim asked letting his arm drop.
"Tim, do you think this is all just guilt?" Damian frowned.
"What?" Tim stared at his older brother with confusion.
"Do...do you think that maybe I don't really care about anyone I just feel guilty about what happened to you?"
     "Of course not" Tim scuffed.
"But I treated you like trash before you died and not that other eart-" Tim cut Damian off.
"Is that what this is all about?" He moved closer to Damian "Yes when I first got here you hated you beat the heck out of me but before I died you did start to treat me like a brother"
"What about the others am I just trying to make up for how I treated you?" Damian asked
"I've seen how you are with Cass and the baby birds and it's not guilt" Tim smiled softly  "You genuinely love for them"
     "Are you sure?"
"The fact that you're even worried about this proves you love them" Before Damian could realize what he was doing he had his arms wrapped around Tim in a tight hug
"Thanks" Tim's body stiffened  from the surprise attack hug "You know I love you too baby bird?"
"I know," Tim said relaxing "I love you Big Bird"
Meanwhile
"Wow" Jason mused staring at the large computer set up "You're a seriously little nerd aren't you"
"It's designed after the bat computer Only with a few more tricks" Tim grinned turning it on.
One year later
It had started out as a 'favor'. He works with Tim and Damian wouldn't expose his identity. Pretty soon it stopped being a favor. Jason didn't work with Tim because he had to but because he wanted to. Tim was like his little brother and there was no way Jason would let anyone mess with his little brother.
So when the court sent a Talon after Tim of course Jason was going to track him down and make him sorry.
"Skywatcher any signs of your attacker," Jason asked into the comm.
"No so far, be careful Hood these are professionally trained assassins"
"Don't worry little brother" Jason replied in a mocking tone.
"I'm technically older than you" Tim snapped back.
"I'd still be bigger than you without magic" Jason chuckled "Seriously you need to eat"
"I've put on five pounds" Tim shot back.
"Yeah sure you-"  a noise started Jason
"Hood? What's going on?" Tim asked over the comm
"I uh..." Jason stared at the small figure in front of him "I found a baby talon"

okay so. the tnp au:
-it’s about establishing skyclan, rather than finding a new home. i think theyd still go see midnight/the sundrown place. maybe midnight could be the one to tell them about skyclan??
-squilf and leafs sister telepathy does not fade out. it is an important plotline.
-the clans are still suffering and recovering from tigerstars reign, so leafpaws story revolves around that mostly
-the cats who go on the journey are as follows:
-squirrelpaw*, brambleclaw, and shrewpaw (who comes along for the same reasons stormfur does)
-crowpaw*
-feathertail*, stormfur, and hawkpaw
-tawnypelt*
*means theyve been getting dreams about skyclan. squilf is the only one to actually communicate with them tho :>
-hawkfrost is a. not evil in this au and b. feathertails apprentice. he, squilf, crow, feather, and shrew are all friends. he bonds with tawnypelt too, but is uncomfortable around brambleclaw, though he cant figure out why. hes a very good brother to moth here btw!! he doesnt fake the moth sign, he just finds it in front of the med den. im a sucker for good hawkfrost sorry gang
-brambleclaw is a villain here, he kinda takes hawkfrosts role. he has grown more and more jaded due to the way everyone, especially firestar, views him. though he declared he would never join his father, his anger sent him down a dark path.
-squilf operates as the trainer for medicine cats with the help of leaf! she and crow become a lot closer during this time too. (squirrel/crow/shrew qpr!!!!) hawk also spends a lot of time with them, bc he likes learning about herbs (it gives him something to bond with moth over). tawny joins them and realizes that she kinda has a knack for healing!! (she prefers being a warrior tho so she sticks to helping squilf)
- skywatcher tells squilf the three prophecy. he also tells her that a silver cat and the spirit of skyclan will save the skies.
-feather, storm, and hawk successfully recruit everyone into skyclan. more cats join than canon, they dont only try and recruit cats who look like they mightve been related to skyclan cats
-the rats are replaced by sharptooth here. theres been several generations of pumas hunting skyclan im so sorry skyclan. they lurk in the whispering cave (which is what prevents leafstar from getting her lives)
-skyclan gains a unique culture due to the influence of the travel gang. theyre also the first clan to have music and art. the cats from skyclans destiny (the rogues) join the clan (minus stick).
-sharptooths attacks get worse and worse, so the gang creates a plan to kill them. brambleclaw, by now fully convinced to follow all that his father says, sabotages feathertail and squilf when theyre luring sharptooth into the river. his goal here was to kill squilf. after all, shes never been seen as an extension of her father, has she?
-feathertail saves squilfs life, and is nearly cost her own. the apprentices save her while tawnypelt attacks brambleclaw. feathertail loses part of her tail and breaks one of her back legs in the scuffle. her friends stay by her side unrelentingly as she heals.
-tawnypelt drags brambleclaw into camp and has him imprisoned.
-leafstars leadership ceremony occurs, with every travel member but brambleclaw present. everyone probably cries bc i would. rather than spottedleaf giving leafstar a life for healing, skystar gives her a life for prudence. leafstar names cora (skyclan name pending. maybe corashadow?) her deputy.
-leafstar refuses to let the apprentices leave without making them warriors. squirrelpaw becomes squirrelshine, crowpaw become crowflight, shrewpaw becomes shrewtuft, and hawkpaw becomes hawkfeather.
-the gang heads home. brambleclaw manages to escape from skyclan and follow them, with it being to late for skyclan to warn the gang
-joyous reunion between everyone!! moth and leaf are very obviously in love and squilf and hawk make a pact to get them together.
-focus shifts to windclan and the revolution there for a while (from crowpaws perspective.) when mudclaw dies after falling from outlook rock, crow runs away to join thunderclan.
-ash and squirrel become good friends. ashfur has a crush on squirrelshine, but she gently rejects him. he takes it just as badly as in canon.
-the badger attack is still canon. leafspirit (leafpool) runs away after cinderpelt passes away. she eventually returns, having had a short relationship with a kittypet.
-ashfur finds brambleclaw, and helps him with his plot to kill firestar. ash to hurt squirrelshine, and bramble to get his revenge on firestar and fulfill what tigerstar failed to do.
-brambleclaw makes his way back to the clans. he tries to kill firestar like hawkfrost does in canon, but hawkfeather and tawnypelt stop him. tawnypelt manages to kill him, and the lake runs red.
-leafspirit runs off again to have her kits. squirrelshine brings mothwing along to find her. they name the kits skykit (jaykit), moonkit (hollykit), and sunkit (lionkit).
other notes:
-starclan guides leaf and squirrel gently and kindly in this au. starclan works in two parts: the spirits and the storyweavers. the spirits are the same as starclan canon (but the same as in life and not butchered). they are not supposed to appear to living cats outside of leadership ceremonies, but a group of them have rebelled and left to guide the living. the storyweavers appear to the medicine cats and create the prophecies and omens. they are uncaring to the plight of the living, only caring for the destinies theyve written. ill reblog to say whos left the spirits later. they (the rebel spirits) are there through the whole arc btw

Shigeo "Mob" Kageyama
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Age: 14
Home: Seasoning City (Mob Psycho 100)
Blood type: O
Likes: Skywatching, pop music, action movies
Dislikes: Math, cilantro, psychic powers
Progress towards meltdown: —%
An ordinary middle schooler struggling to find himself. Okay, yes, he does have world-shaking psychic powers, but so what? Those cause as many problems as they solve, and the problems they solve are never the ones Mob worries about the most. Psychic powers don’t impress girls or make friends or help with math. They can hurt people, though.
Mob does his best not to, of course. Even when people actively try to hurt him, Mob just defends himself most of the time. He does hurt people with his powers sometimes, occasionally even on purpose, but most of his effort is spent either trying to avoid hurting people or trying to do things that don’t involve his powers.
Strip away the psychic powers, and you’re theoretically left with a good kid with terrible social skills. Mob means well, trying to help people (not just basic etiquette like “try not to kill people,” either). Of course, one of the big points of the series conclusion is that you can’t just strip away the psychic powers, but you get my point. Mob’s a good kid, just…he needs guidance.
What does Tumblr think of Mob?
from the response from non mp100 fans to mob winning tumblr autism polls i kinda get the sense that people who havent seen the show think hes a “diagnosed autism at fandom because socially awkward” kind of character and not like. the most autistic character ever written.
Shigeo definitely pet every single cat he sees when he walking home with his brother or on the way to Reigen workplace
the absolute terror of the last episode is just cheff’s kiss shigeo is SCARY

Naming Minor Characters Post under the cut
Super Edition... Edition! Some Super Editions are getting new names in WCR to better fit with their rewritten state and new themes.
Starting with Firestar's Quest
Plump, long-furred snowy-white tom with brilliant blue eyes that looks like Cloudtail - Oliver! Cloudtail's dad!
Tortoiseshell molly who tries to beat up Firestar - Sweetpea! She was absolutely named by a 4 year old!
Lowbranch's mom/Skywatcher's grandmother - WE WERE GIVEN A NAME FOR HER! Her name is Honeyleaf. Her husband was Swallowflight. Honeyleaf was the last deputy of Skyclan.
Skywatcher's father - Pebble, I like to imagine he was a brown tabby.
Pricklenose's kits - I'm gonna give her 2, to match Lowbranch. Flykit who grew into Flyfoot, who would later father Patch/Patchfoot, and Sheepkit, who grew into Sheepclaw, and would mother Hutch/Shortwhisker.
Clovertail's Ex, Rockshade, Bouncefire and Tinycloud's father - Hail, a Rogue. He has bright yellow eyes like Bouncefire, and is pure white like Tinycloud (who is now hard of hearing from birth)
Hutch's mother - Sheepclaw, Pricklenose's superstitious daughter.
Foxy and his brother - Foxy actually has a description. Red tabby tom with cream-colored paws and tail tip. His eyes are blue. His brother is now named Wolf, pure gray with blue eyes.
Clovertail's mother, implied Riverclan ancestry - Canonically, Clovertail is hinted to be related to Birchstar of Riverclan and relative of Heavystep (the other hint that she is of Riverclan heritage besides her swimming) so... Her mother is Shine. Shine is the missing sister of Lilystem, went missing just days after her warrior ceremony and was never found. She had fallen in love with a loner and left Riverclan, settling down near the gorge and eventually having Clover, but never giving up her love of water. (Her warrior name was Shinestep) the Heavystep line is directly descended from Birchstar, the same one who rejected Skyclan.

Jefrey Mishlove (New Thinking Allowed)
Jeffrey Mishlove reflects upon a series of coincidences that have occurred recently on the New Thinking Allowed channel. They involve Alex Gomez-Marin's interview about the Jacobo Grinberg Story, Emmy Vadnais' interview with physician Jim Roach, the Tonglen Meditation video, and two recent videos with Heidi Jurka - who was a member of Andrija Puharich's "space kids" group. Also presented are ideas concerning Puharich's "Mind Link" and the "Law of One." Also in the mix is the Mexican miracle healer known as Pachita. All of these threads are tied together by the concept of "Indra's Net" as discussed in a video with Jude Currivan.
Jeffrey Mishlove: The Law of One and related Coincidences (March 2024)
youtube
Jeffrey Mishlove describes a series of events, going back to the 1970s and into the present day, in which unusual events involving hawks appear to evoke the archetypal god Horus. These events are associated with UFO sightings, psychic powers, healing, and ominous warnings. The events include descriptions by Andrija Puharich of his interactions with the Israeli psychic, Uri Geller. Also implicated is the prominent psychic, Ray Stanford, twin brother of the parapsychologist, Rex Stanford. These events are probably best understood in the context of Jeffrey's concept of "archetypal synchronistic resonance."

Goosefeather traumadumps on Rootspring: a short story
Rootspring often likes to wander more of then other cats. He isn’t sure why. But every time he does, he finds himself talking. Whether that be to himself, to others, to ghosts, or to the earth. It feels good making friends with the cats beyond SkyClan’s borders, like it was something Bristlefrost would’ve wanted from him. When he talks aimlessly, he likes to imagine he’s speaking with her, with her spirit in the wind, like her flowing, grey pelt, the trees, like her sturdy heart, the water, her calm demeanor. even if she was gone, bristlefrost was in everything. he wouldn’t forget her.
when he’s wandering, the yellow tabby finds many ghosts, and is quick to chat. His favorites is Cheddar, the chatty kittypet who he finds himself talkimg to more often then not. He’s come across a few StarClan cats too. Once, he saw a friendly ginger tabby watching his grandfather Hawkwing. He didn’t know the young tom’s name, but in the shape of his face and his jawline, he knew they were brothers.
He’d also seen Skywatcher. He knew his name— from a story told by Cherrytail. The elderly gray cat had been the embers of SkyClan until Firestar and Sandstorm came along. Rootspring could thank him for his own existence. He’d met a large ginger tom once, with a mean face. It was Sharpclaw. Rootspring didn’t know too much about him, but he liked to sit around Cherrytail. Sharpclaw was Rootspring’s great-grandfather. He could tell- not just in their similar face shapes, but in their eyes, and ears.
Rootspring didn’t expect to meet any StarClan ghosts in the coming months. StarClan had said they planned to stay less involved in the living clans troubles, and he was fine with that. But when he saw the ragged speckled grey tom pad towards him, he couldn’t help but feel a sense of awe. The StarClan cat was spotted all over in darker flecks, and he had clear, blue eyes. He reminded him a bit of Ashfur (which was a thought that he immediately regretted) and wondered how the two were related.
“I am Goosefeather. I was alive before your mother, and your mother’s mother, I’m older then New SkyClan itself. I believe you and i have something in common, yes?”
Rootspring shakes his head. “I don’t see how we could. I am seeing you now, so.. perhaps you see ghosts as i do?” Goosefeather seems to relax, and he lays on the cool earth beside the young yellow tabby, not even stirring the leaves underneath him. “Yes.. i see ghosts like you do. I had a acute connect to ghosts while i was alive, and could recieve prophecies before the cats involved were even thoughts in the minds of their mothers. However, my power is not the same as yours. Tell me why.”
“Well, my power comes from the Sisters. They can communicate with ghosts and speak with the earth as i do. we can summon spirits too.” Rootspring explains. Goosefeather nods, and rasps his tongue over his paw thoughtfully. “I mostly stay out of clan trouble nowadays, forgive me for not knowing your kin.” “All’s well,” Rootspring reassures.
“Why do you care so much about visiting me in particular, instead of my father Tree, or any of the other sisters?” asks Rootspring, and Goosefeather is quiet for a moment. “Because you did us all a favor, you, Shadowsight, and Bristlefrost. I think i at least can be honored with speaking to a Light in The Mist.”
“Was having your power hard?” meows Rootspring, settling down beside Goosefeather. He was desperate for a chance to relate to someone. Despite his relationship with his father becoming a bit less tense, the yellow tabby couldn’t help but hope to meet someone who he didn’t share blood with that had the same powers as him.
“Very. Then we weren’t so used to cats having powers like you do today. Many cats regarded me as freakish. My own sister was didn’t even believe me when i tried to warn her about Stormtail.” Rootspring was about to open his mouth to speak, ask about what Stormtail did, but Goosefeather didn’t seem keen on stopping. “My mentor Cloudberry wasn’t too sure what to do with me. I was practically better at communicating with StarClan than she was. I even had a second mentor, a ghost named Pearnose.” Goosefeather looked uncomfortable for a moment. “I had a third mentor too. Mapleshade. You know her.”
Rootspring bristled and shifted away from the ruffled spotted tabby. “Mapleshade! Bu-But she’s a Dark Forest cat! You weren’t training with the Dark Forest, were you?” The yellow tabby was suddenly hyperaware of the idea that Goosefeather might be trying to build a kinship with him so he could exploit him later. “No, no. I’m not a Dark Forest cat. Sit down, will you? I didn’t know Mapleshade was evil at the time. She taught me how to fight for myself. I tore apart from her soon after.”
Rootspring was shocked to learn how old Mapleshade truly was. She was a Dark Forest cat during Goosefeather’s time.. he fluffed his pelt. “What did you do after?” “Well, i became a full medicine cat at only six moons, when you would just become a apprentice. ThunderClan wasn’t in the best of places during that time— We had a Great Hunger, and many cats died. I had seen the famine in my visions, but.. i could do nothing to stop it.” Goosefeather seemed to deflate. “We lost our leader, Doestar, and my mentor, Cloudberry.”
“I’m sorry that happened to you. It’s like all the visions you have are for nothing if it means they’re going to happen anyway.” Rootspring murmurs. “I thought that to myself too. My sister, Moonflower, died because of a omen i had. ThunderClan lost trust in me because of the visions. They thought i was crazy. They were wrong!” Goosefeather raised voice made Rootspring blink in surprise.  He seemed so hurt. Rootspring’s own clan had been doubtful of him too.. finding him weird not just because of his abilities, bit because of his half-outsider parentage. It just wasn’t fair.
“Thank you for telling with me, Goosefeather. I’m sure there was a lot on your shoulders. My clan, SkyClan didn’t like me either because of my powers. They thought i was just like my dad, Tree. But I’m not. And i never will be. Do you think I could talk to you again sometime? It’s nice knowing there’s someone out there who’s like me.” “Of course, young Rootspring. I’m glad you and I could meet. I think my visions foretell you and I having a good friendship. safe travels, ghostsighted.” The spotted tabby turned and jumped into the air, disappearing in a flurry of star-like dust. Rootspring purred and went on his way back to camp.

With SOTO out, I startet to think about my OCs. They currently still in the events of fighting Kralkatorik - well, before the real fight. I have them on hold there initial because of Wilson's Story. Now because of Valefors and Kyings Story, too.
Still I want to write down what happens to them from now - till the Events right before SOTO starts.
This is more a mental note for me and might get a little change in the future, but that could happen: (Behold of lore drop and possibile spoiler of my OCs, but I think it's fine cuz I'm never able to tell it all.)
Wilson: Not a lot will happen. She will help raising the Skyscales in the Events around fighting Kralkatorik. But she won't participate in the fight itself. During this she will also take care of the wounded, with the help of Fuma.
In the Events around the Civil War she will finally meet her real Father. But it's during the events of Jorgmas and Primodus influence on Tyria (Dragon Response Mission) she gets a little closer to him. He will help her control her magic. Together with Fuma and him, they will help in Tyria, where help is needed.
After Jormag and Primodus is defeated, she will travel the world together with Fuma.
In the Events around Cantha she will travel to Cantha and stay there until the fight in the jade sea occurs. Like before, she will mainly take care of the wounded and keep out most of the fight. But during the brief moment, when the void is about to take over everything, she will rescue a huge bunch of their companions with her magic. After that she is left without magic. She can’t even cast a single flame. Maybe this changes with the start of SOTO. Until then she will continue explore Tyria with Fuma at her side.
Fuma: She will be at Wilsons side and share most of the events like her. The only main thing that happens to her - she will go the path as Druid. Developing her healing magic to help the people around her.
Baal: As a former Flame Legion Member and after killing many of them, he will join Efram efforts to rebuild the Legion.
But first he will help his half-brother Deus in the fight against Kralkatorik. There he catches a first glimpse at his long, lost daughter. But it will be until the invitation to Grothmar-Valley, when he seeks direct contact with her. He will train her and tries to form a connection. Due to his cold demeanor it’s not easy at first, but with the help of Wilson’s bright nature they slowly connect. He will also accompany Wilson and Fuma during some of the Dragon Response Mission.
And Baal will always be at Deus side to fight the danger, that lay before them.
After the Events in Cantha he will return to Eframs side and help him with the new path of the Flame Legion.
Vale and Deus: They follow the Story as it is in the Game. But it’s only Vale, who will later end in Skywatch Archipelago. Only because she is the best in infiltrating the camp and get the information about the strange visitors. Deus could only watch as his wife went lost in the portal. He will of course try to join her.
Desmond: Sometimes he's at this place, sometimes he's at that place,... his main task is to take care of Orez during all the events. But it’s not easy with this ball of energy constantly disappearing into the mists…
He is basically just there and keeps an eye on Orez.
Orez: In the Events of Kralkatorik he is only 6 - so his main task is to make Desmonds natural hair color of white, even more whiter. He might get a glimpse of the Astral Ward, way before the Events of SOTO starts. He will meet a traveler in the Mist that belongs to the Ward. But due to his young age he won’t remember much and mainly stay at Desmond side. Even with the age of 10, when the Events around SOTO start, he will keep out of these things.
--- Now we get into the mild to heavy spoiler territory, but I'm not sure if I'm able to tell it all.
Phrike: He will play a huge role during the civil war. Additional to Bangar and the Elder Dragons, he will be another hug problem to take care of. A very nasty problem that last till the defeat of the elder dragons. He will nearly kill Deus and Vale. Also some of the other like Fuma, Wilson and Baal will have a close call. But in the end he will nearly kill himself in the attempt to blow up the whole black citadel,... In his mind: If he can’t have it - no one should. But he is not able to carry this bomb to the citadel, so he detonates the bomb in his hideout. Killing most of his own allies,... and nearly himself, too. He would have survived somehow - but his mind suddenly clear for the first time in years, he decides the world would be better without him. He wouldn't stop. He can’t stop. So he ask his closest friend to end his life. With one last gift in hand.
Bahalt: She will be at Phrikes side until his death. She will be the one, to grant Phrike his last wish in killing him. After that she will search for the thing Phrike has promised her - the gift. And what could it be? His son. She should take care of his son. Phrike always knew she wanted to be a mother, but was never not able to bear children on her own.
She will take care of this young boy. Sometimes call Phrike out of the mist to share these moments. She will later join Vale and Deus in their efforts to protect Tyria.
Valefor / Kying / Israfil: He will serve Israfil till the start of events of Cantha. It will be a balancing act between his new life with Kying and the old shadows that won’t leave him. The grip of Israfil will tighten over the years. Nearly tearing Valefors new found love apart. At the same time Valefor will find new allies - new people to trust, who later play a huge role in finally freeing him from Israfils grasps.
And Kying will be the one, striking Israfil down. At least he will disappear - unknown if Israfil is really dead or not. At least Valefor is finally free, he can feel it,... but I have the feeling it’s not the last time we hear from this fucker. Let’s see what SOTO has in store.
With Israfil gone, Valefor and Kying will join Deus and Vale, helping them protecting Tyria in the last fight against the Void. After that he stays a valuable asset to the Dragon Watch, but only if he is called. He will go back to old roots and travel Tyria together with Kying. Until he finds a nice place to live and settle in. There he will marry his emotional Idiot, who tamed him back to his softer side. At least around his friends. With stranger he still act like he will tear them apart - just for fun. And I think he will join Vale in the Events SOTO. I have the feeling he would enjoy punching some demons.
---
And with the fancy new communicatory they all stay in contact. Vale, Deus, Fuma, Wilson, Desmond, Orez, Bahalt, Valefor and Kying will form a huge weird family. And I'm here for it. Maybe I give them a Warband name and each of them their fitting Warband title.
Even Baal is part of it, but he will stay more of a rare sight.
And guess what? Valefor would have the most fun with the communicatory. I'd love to imagine them having a huge group chat. Wilson and Valefor would be the most active there. Wilson sharing nice moments and Valefor bullying the whole group. Well it's his way of showing affection. But aside from all the bullying, he would be always there for a good advice or a helping hand.

Okay, this deals with your Tigerstar is Fire's dad au:
I had a dream, and Swift and Fire got caught trying to kill Sasha (The clans were still separate at his point) and Tigerstar exiles them. Has them chased out of Thunderclan. Shenanigans happen and Fire is badly hurt protecting Swift. They go to Shadowclan for help, and they do basically what Tiger did in cannon, except Fire hands over the leadership position to Swift, telling Swift about the dreams he's been having about a skyclan. Swift has gotten really close to his brother at this point, and begs him to stay. Fire promises that he'll be back, and to stay strong, as he'll bring a clan with him. Swiftstar wishes his brother well, promising Fire he'll always have a home in Shadowclan.
Fire runs into Windclan, and Tallstar, upon hearing what was done to Skyclan, has Winfclan join Fire on his journey. They find thr gorge and Skywatcher, and then begin to build up Skyclan and boolster Windclan's ranks (just incase Shadowclan had fallen.)
Fire is picked by Skyclan's starclan to be Skyclan's new leader, and once both clans are filled with ready and able warriors, apprentices, and 4 trained medicine cats. They are ready to fight for their territory.
A dream of prophecy for the Tigerstar's Fire AU!
This is a really good one. Wind/Sky/Shadow verses Thunder/River. Sounds like a sort of 'third major branch' which would probably keep most of the major clans intact, since WindClan is secure in the paws of Tallstar and his successor, Deadstar.
I think it would make sense if they either fought and disbanded TigerClan after this (with or without a battle with BloodClan like in canon), or dissolved TigerClan into Shadow, Sky, and Wind. Possibly they'd let RiverClan go? Since they can't use River territory anyway... but in any case, Firestar's SkyClan would need the ThunderClan territory for his clan anyway.

Jacqueline King, her wife Christine Trelane, and her brother Malcolm; representatives of the Monarchy.
Previously trading under the names Battalion and Strafe, the King siblings where the children of infamous metahuman Isaiah King aka Despot of the War Guard, a militant offshoot of STORM formed during the chaos of Bendix’s death and the defections of Gamorra and Dowling. While the official story lists Despot as dead at the hands of his daughter and John Colt, this actual fate remains a mystery.
The Monarchy would come years later, after Jacqui had married former Skywatch agent Chris Trelane, and decided that Jenny Sparks and groups like the Authority had become too dangerous to humanity.
After bringing her brother--now calling himself Belleraphon after encountering and absorbing a bizarre meta-material into his body--on board, King began recruiting members in earnest...with the blessing of The Monarch themselves.
