This is for everyone who could use less things to worry about and some better sleep, but it is especially for @intermundia who inspired this by speaking of sleeplessness and his worries and because a tumblr post of his got a lot of undue bad attention.

I had a blast creating this. Working with moving images added a new dimension to the drawing that I really enjoyed. It’s probable that I’ll do more of it.

Whump Prompt #1028
Anon asked:  What about ideas for two whumpees and one caretaker?
The caretaker worrying they’re favouriting one whumpee over the other, but one has more intensive care requirements than the other.
Caretaker breaking down because one is delirious and the other is crashing.
Breaking down harder when both whumpee’s enter a critical condition.
One whumpee watching the other deteriorate with fever, and panic because they can’t help much themselves.
The caretaker worrying about cross-contaminating blood etc
Your caretaker only has so much shirt to rip up as bandages.
Your caretaker is hiding their own injury.
The torturer forcing the caretaker to choose who gets tortured. They’re not allowed to choose themselves, and must make a choice or both whumpees get it.
Caretaker forced to watch the enemy undo all their hard work
Caretaker barely getting any sleep because they’re so worried about the two whumpees

what's awake
kept up so late the sky faded blue, and I can hear the morning crows-- greeting each other, bickering over breakfast.

To The Fanfic Author Who I Adore And I Am Subscribed To:
No, you don't understand. I was actually going to bed on time tonight. I'm all settled in. It's warm and comfy.
But what am I supposed to do now that you uploaded a completed multi chapter fic in one go? Does my well-being mean nothing to you? Do you see these panda eyes? These are the eyes of someone who has sleep issues. What am I supposed to do now? 😭😭😭😭😭

Good morning, friends. 🌺☕☕

13 January 2024
Sleep didn't come easy last night. I finally just got up and went to the family room and kicked back in my magic chair. Sleep came to me after 03:00 A.M. True to his heart, Charlie left me alone until almost seven, "time to eat." But after feeding the dogs and putting on the coffee, I slept another hour, or so. Speaking of Charlie, he just came in to pester me about going outside again.
Sometimes I wonder, in all that tossing and turning, did I sleep a bit without knowing. Hmmm … more coffee please.

Midnight Daydream
Sleepless nights staring up at the moonlight reflecting all my feelings back down from that lonesome ceiling
That darkened midnight blue that paints the bedroom in a melancholy hue
The perfect setting for all my useless fretting and the endless spiral of regretting all those memories of every way I failed
A reverie that I cannot expel; a midnight daydream that I’ll never tell
Lost in this forest of thoughts with every tree a memory that I’d rather have forgot
Finally drifting off into a dreamless slumber my mind too encumbered to imagine fantastical scenes
Awaken like a broken machine barely functioning and wishing for sleep hiding from the sun under my bedsheet
Once more, do this again; Grudgingly wake up and play pretend Slog through, awakened, arisen until moonlit thoughts visit unbidden

Whumptober #20: It’s Been A Long Day
Option: Foetal Position
A had noticed that everyone sleeps in strange positions. B sprawled spread-eagled and limbs like an octopus, C could drape themselves over anything and everything and still have a good slumber. D talked in their sleep and E fidgeted like there was no tomorrow -  F slept rigid like a soldier!
But their Captain… who they’d never even seen sleep outside of a catnap atop a cluttered desk or a quick snooze in their captains chair, was a different story. The stoic character curled up as tight as they could; tucking their arms and legs as close to their chest as humanly possible. The blankets around them radiated the same tension as the body pulling them in tight. It was oddly endearing to see such a hardened person so vulnerable as they slept.

Good morning. ☕☕☕
20 October 2023
Tumblr media
I slept late this because I didn't get to sleep until after two this morning. It's almost 8 AM and I'm just now taking my first sips of coffee.
Hmmm … I can't recall ever having problems sleeping in my early years, except as a child on Christmas Eve or sometimes if we had plans to go fishing the following morning. But that was because of excited anticipation. I'd say that for my first 50 years, I could go to sleep at the drop of a hat. The thing is though, I didn't require as much sleep. Indeed, there were times it my 20s and 30s that I could get by on two to four hours of sleep. I'd even slept on the ground or on the floor in an airport with no problem.   “I close my eyes, but I can’t fall asleep, my body dying for the rest while my mind’s wide awake.” - Haruki Murakami, Kafka on the Shore
