im so late on this but for the wip folder ask: HADES CODY????? SUNSHINE BOY BUT HADES??? im so hyped about it

YES! Sunshine boy is steadily making his way into the Hades AU!! He’s got his jetpack and a torn up poncho for dramatic effect (but no Wi-Fi antenna because I didn’t want to put it in his face 😅)

Why did I feel it necessary to add all these sketches to this one page? Because 1) I wanted to showcase how much I struggled on this one. It is just part of the drawing process. Like, Old Man Rex was a headache and a half but Cody still had him beat on the sketch somehow. And 2) because the solution to being stuck here turned out to be to switch my dark brown/desaturated purple to a red colour, scribble out the very very base of the pose (imagine blobs and swoopy lines and boxes) and then just keep chipping away at building the body and armor and whatever on top of it. (I think the sketch is still very red in the original file…)That had granted me a breakthrough with Rex as well, and now with Cody too… so I might as well remember this solution and spare myself the trouble with the next character ^^;

(Do I know what size a lightsaber actually is when it is held in only one hand? No. Am I willing to look it up properly? … not for the time being, no)

(and special thanks to Lou and Niko for bringing up Overwatch this week, because digging up my old reference folder from that fandom really helped me figure out parts of this sketch🫣🥰)

Man, I want shapeshifter cap SO BAD.

I want to see a Billy that really leans into the wonder of the world, the million paths a child could take in their life.

I want to see a Billy that wants to try everything, at least once.

A Billy that looks at all the people who spit at him, deride him, pity him, dismiss him, ignore him, because he has no future, no prospects, a child in the gutter and say no. I'm going to grow up to be whoever I want to be.

And a captain marvel that says you're going to be amazing.

Billy taking the premise of captain marvels form - his ideal self, a blank slate for Billy to paint his bright colours, the person he wants to be deep inside - and dialling that freedom up to eleven.

A dancer, a dinosaur, a train conductor, a tiger, an ice cream maker, a butterfly, an astronaut, a shark, a college student, a Tamaranean, a mouse, a scuba diver, an elephant, a doctor, a moose, a race car driver, a dog.

A child wanting to see the world.

If you want to find captain marvel, well first you've got to try his comm, probably a couple times.

Then you've got to go to fawcett, hope he's there and not saving the yetis from a salamander invasion in a different dimension.

You've got to ask around, because it often goes by word of mouth here, no matter what technology you bring. Don't worry, it'll spread very quickly, but if you're in a hurry you can find his commemorative statue and leave an offering. No one knows if it really works, but it's a good way to pass the time and feel productive.

Soon, a face will peel out of the crowd. It's always familiar, but it's never the same one.

Wait for the flash of lightning in a cloudless sky.

And then you will find captain marvel.

Oh no, is this a fanfiction advertisement?!

Based on the original light novel, this fanfiction sets up a world where our main character transmigrates into the body of the original Camilla Storm. To make matters more complicated, she has only read half of the story herself and only knows canon events up to a certain point. Camilla must adapt to the world like a traditional isekai protagonist, while also grasping the morality of it since she's controlling another person's body. I highly recommend reading the original light novel (The Villainess Wants Her Husband to Slim Down) for the references in this fanfiction, but it is not required to enjoy the story!

At the time of this post, it has 5 chapters and 27k words.

Hi,

my name’s Ina, I’m a queer, disabled trans person from Germany and I’m starting a great apprenticeship in my dream city soon! However, I’m running into some funding issues and could use some help.

After a long, grueling search on an extremely tense market, I finally have an apartment lined up and the moving costs + deposit covered. But I will have to move earlier than planned, a month before my current lease ends, so I’m stuck with paying rent myself for July.

Additionally, I’m facing costs to take over furniture from the previous tenant of my new place, which was part of an agreement that enabled me to get this apartment in the first place.

I’m currently on unemployment benefits and already exhausted all avenues of additional financial aid, which is why I have to take to e-begging once again. I still have some money from the last fundraiser, but it’s nowhere near enough to cover everything, and my meagre unemployment benefits and the skyrocketing food prices in Germany make it impossible to save up anything.
