Hermione:
*Literally sets Snape on fire*.
*Steals from him*.
*Knocks him unconscious*
Snape: *Makes one rude comment about her teeth*
The fandom: Wow, he's such a child abusing psychopath & shouldn't be allowed to teach!
Mm... I can sense some hypocrisy here.

ok i've carried this headcanon through the whole fandom experience and i think it's cute
I love this thing that Severus and McGonagall had a very warm friendly relationship, she could be a support during his school years. also maybe she was the first to see this talent in him
(I came up with it when I was like 8 and I was a kid obsessed with cats, don't judge me)

Severus Snape Headcanons
Tumblr media
Warnings: 18+ suggestive content
------------
In a relationship
• Your book selection intrigued him when you first met at Flourish and Blotts. Advanced yet rare material on transfiguration, charms, potions, and herbology. He'd try to find reasons to owl to you about them until you both sought each other out.
• You don't hold hands. No, you link arms.
• He doesn't like to kiss you in public. Instead, he'll kiss the back of your hand in reverence. You were his queen.
•You'd try to drag him out of the castle to do anything fun (that isn't intimidating students). The man doesn't catch a break.
• He often feels like he doesn't deserve you. You always tell him: I'm the one who gets to decide and I choose you. I'm yours. You're stuck with me.
• He spoils you but doesn't understand when you do the same to him.
•He didn't like celebrating birthdays, holidays, or anniversaries. That's until you came along. A cozy dinner for his birthday the first year you were together. His favorite cake and favorite person. You asked if he'd invite Minerva and Albus for a bit. He vehemently said no. You laughed. Instead, he thoroughly ravished you as one of his birthday presents and thought that this was his second chance at love.
• In Hogsmeade when he is jealous, he quietly comes up behind you. You briefly introduce him as your significant other and they go after. They find him very intimidating. Tall. Dark. Just standing behind you glaring. With you none the wiser.
Married Severus and You
• He likes waking up before you. Just to admire you without the stresses of the day. Sometimes it's cute and sometimes it's downright creepy.
•He absolutely loathes to leave you asleep when he must watch the students on Hogsmeade weekends.
• When you manage to get up before him, he sleepily mumbles "Come back to bed, darling," You could never say no to that.
• He loves the occasional shower with you. And your magic fingers that massage his scalp. That and the fact that he can pin you up against the wall after to show his appreciation.
• He loves to cook for you. In turn, you clean. You constantly thank him for it because your sorry ass might just burn the castle down to the ground.

If Snape started to like you (romantically or platonically), he would never just go up and talk to you because he hates small talk and would be convinced he’d be wasting your time. So instead, he’d come up with excuses to talk to you one-on-one, like,
“I need help with this task” (he’s perfectly capable of doing it on his own.)
“If you insist you need someone to come with you/help you, fine, I’ll do it!” (you never asked.)
“You’re showing symptoms of some sickness, so here’s a potion I had sitting in my potions storeroom” (the “symptom” in question was a sneeze, but he went out of his way to make it just for you in case you do get sick.)
“I heard it’s your birthday, so here’s a small gift that I saw while running errands” (he knows exactly what you like and went to the shops in his free time to pick out the perfect gift.)
If you were also a professor, he’d sit next to you during meals, conveniently show up in the same hallway as you while pretending to watch over the students, and gossip about annoying students with you.
Eventually, though, he’d get tired to playing these games and acting childish, so he’d muster up the courage to ask you to spend time and talk about your interests. If you’re smart enough, of course you’d say yes ☺️

Quick Snape Headcannon:
I Believe Young Snape 100% knew how to solve a Rubix cube in his youth, and he can still do it as a professor.
( Let’s pretend Rubix cubes were in Britain around this time. )
(Check out my other posts if you like this Severus headcannon, I plan to add more headcannons)

Why I think Snape is autistic
(as someone with autism and who also has other family members and friends on the spectrum)
(I don't want to generalise these are purely my observations and I hope I worded everything correctly, this is just my lil hyper-fixation dump meant for fun an not to be taken too seriously)
Tumblr media
Firstly, Severus is always seen in his trademark long, dark robes which could be a way to cope with sensitivity to certain textures as he has clearly found something that works for him and he knows he likes, so why should he have to wear anything else?
He also keeps his hair long which could also be another sensory comfort for him as tying it up can keep it very far away from his face which short hair doesn't provide quite as well (from personal experience) or leaving it loose can create a nice feeling on a persons face or neck that some people with autism find comforting
Obviously Snape's favourite things are the dark arts and potions and he shows a deep knowledge of these subjects throughout the books and movies alike therefore these could be seen as special interests considering the amount of time and energy Severus puts into them
He's also shown to have a vast collection of various potion ingredients in jars and knows straight away that something is missing when Harry takes the Gillyweed
Severus also stims in potentially unnoticeable ways such as constantly fiddling with his hands, having his hands behind his back to clasp them together and picking apart leaves as a child
Social gatherings are clearly something that Severus finds difficult as he's not often seen at any besides supposedly mandatory events such as the Yule ball which could be because he finds them overstimulating from the noise, crowds, smells, lights, etc
Another potentially overstimulating thing for Severus could be light as he spends his time in the dungeons which aren't well lit and in other scenes where there is bright lights he immediately shuts them off such as when he takes over Lupin's defence against the dark arts lesson and also again in the prisoner of Azkaban a portrait asks him to put out his luminous spell and he complies as he walks away meaning he's just walking in the dark?! (Which is a total vibe tbh)
He's always been depicted as "strange", "wierd" or "lonely" as from his childhood Lily is his only friend and the vast majority of other characters seem to find him off putting and can't actually specify why they don't like him "the fact that he exists" but he's not shown to make much effort to expand his social circle so it seems as though he's either content with the situation or has given up on it
There is a lac of understanding shown for other peoples emotions throughout the books and movies alike for example the perceived "rudeness" towards students could definitely be a result of depression or something else but it could also be that he doesn't fully understand the impact that he has on them
Severus also experiences the "flat effect" which is when someone displays little to no facial expression, this is a trait that can be seen in autism, this is emphasised in the movies in particular but Severus in the books is also said to not show much emotion unless he's feeling incredibly extreme emotions "Don't call me a coward" for example is one of his infamous more emotional scenes but for the majority of the time his expressions aren't depicted in great detail or he simply isn't displaying any
Along with this he also has a fairly monotone voice, besides when he's extremely upset which again is a trait displayed by those on the autism spectrum
He doesn't seem to understand social rules particularly well for example he's unsure of how to communicate to Lily that she's a witch and accidentally ends up scaring her, not fully grasping that 11 year olds can't do everything he can regarding potions and becoming easily frustrated by them
Severus also clearly has a very strong sense of justice that he's willing to do almost anything to ensure is carried out such as spying for as long as he did which was definitely partly motivated by Lily but also (or I like to think) his intense black and white vision of right and wrong which Voldemort crossed when Severus fully understood everything that the death eaters stood for when they began hunting down Lily

Even though I love the headcanon of Snape drinking pitch black tea with no sugar, I think he's a builder's brew type of guy. Given his lower class background, it's quite possible that in his house the only tea available was a very strong, cheap black tea that had to be sweetened with lots of sugar and milk to give it a little bit of taste, and that he got so accustomed to the flavour he kept drinking it this way in his adult years. So to summarize, Our boi is powered by spite and a cuppa builder's tea.

My hcs for teen snape. Yay idk I lowkey forgot this was an art acc
there should be a tag like “neutral snape” for ppls who aren’t anti snape but not exactly pro snape either. I like him he’s interesting but can totally understand why ppl don’t like him and i think their reasons are very valid. I think that’s something, respectfully, the pro snape side of the fandom needs to learn. How to accept that he is far from perfect and has done wrong, while still liking him and defending him when necessary. I like teen snape a lot cuz I used to be a lot like him. But yea I loooove edgy dark haired miserable lanky guy. Fun to draw

Harry: *gnaws on fingers*
Snape: stop that. It makes your hands look gross. If I hadn’t known better I would think you’re a starving orphan boy.
Harry: I can’t! I need to do something other than chewing my lips.
Snape: One moment.
*sticks hands into his coat pocket and starts fishing around with a concentrated look*
Snape, holding a stick of gum: Here. Chew on this.
Harry: Why the fuck do you carry pineapple flavored gum around?
Snape: If you’re going to criticize my gum preference I might as well keep it to myself and let you find something else to chew on.
Harry: No, no, it’s not bad! It’s just an… odd preference. Thanks for the gum anyways.

Severus Snape daughter headcanons
Slytherin all the way.
There was a debate with the sorting hat between Slytherin and Ravenclaw, but the hat landed on Slytherin
Severus taught her German and Russian
Has a pet cat
Was taught how to brew potions as a child
Skilled in occlumency and legilimens
Severus would've definitely taught her some fight moves he learned from Tobias to defend herself along with defense spells to protect herself if necessary (one of the rare good things Tobias did for Severus)
I feel his daughter would have a photographic memory
If his daughter was born before the war, then she would've met Regulus as a baby but didn't know a lot about him other than what Narcissa, Lucius, and her father told her (all good things)
Growing up, Severus didn't tell her a lot of his past, but every time she was in the Malfoy's care or Charity and Aurora's care, they would tell her all the embarrassing school stories of Severus (Severus would neither confirm or deny the stories) but they leave out the marauders of their stories (she knows about them, they always let it slip during their stories)
Educated in both the wizarding and muggle world
She definitely inherited the famous Severus glare and sharp tongue
Middle is Eileen, and Severus talks about his mother sometimes but not much
She would definitely be a bookworm
Similar to Severus, she would have an interest in potions and DADA
She and Draco would have definitely seen each other as siblings from their parents
I feel like she would be respectful and nice to house elves and would hate the abuse they face (she scolds her uncle Lucius about hurting Dobby every time she sees it)
Her and Hermione would have a school rivalry since they are both the smartest girls in their houses. But they respect each other and their intellect
If wolfstar had a child or children, then you can count on some bad blood between them (who knows... maybe an enemies to lovers)
Severus and McGonagall taught her how to dance (quite fabulously, if I may add 👌💃)
Sees Minerva as a grandmother figure (you can't tell me that McGonagall wouldn't lover her as her own)
If she had an Animagus form, it would be a cat or Raven
Her Patronus would be a bat or a cat
Has respect for the Weasley twins but will not hesitate to turn their pranks against them if it's aimed at her father, Draco, or herself
Likes Molly and Arthur but has notes on their parenting
She and Ron like playing wizard chess with each other (she beats him every time, and Ron always wants a rematch)
I feel like she would be a bit relatable to Stiles Stilinski (has ADHD, OCD, A LOT of sarcasm, and is stubborn. Wonder where she gets that from) "I mean no. Do you want to hear it in German? Nein". "I'm 140 pounds of pale skin and fragile bone, ok? Sarcasm and magic are my ONLY defense."
I feel like a lot of people would be afraid of her because she is Severus's daughter
She and Luna, I feel would get along because of her creative mind and unique way of seeing the world (she would also scare off Luna's bullies)
She makes her own spells, potions, and magical objects (mad scientist mode)
Not a big fan of quidditch but supports Draco
Brains of the operation
Hates Sirius on sight and is OK Remus.
She will not hesitate to hex or murder Sirius if he continues to insult her family (she is very difficult to restrain)
Feels like Harry's babysitter for always helping him survive on his adventures
She knows Remus when she was young due to his visits to her home to pick up his supply of wolfsbane from her father (so she knows he's a werewolf)
Often scold Draco if his insults go too far.
If her dad was a part of the death eaters and she was told, she would be shocked, upset, and angry but if he told her about the double agent part then she would be more worried for him
All I got so far. Enjoy my lovelies
