Kathy does very much still love and care for her friends and it honestly shows because of how often she let's them get away because she knows from experience how bad Belle Reve Reformatory Highschool can be and yeah, sometimes her teammates like Tekashi, Vance and Castillo, and Chix (the heroes who don't know what villains go through) get mad at her and yell at her for it and accuse her of being a traitor and she just glares back: "I won't apologize for doing what I thought was right."

Castillo: "THEY KILL PEOPLE, KATHY! THEY'RE VILLAINS! WE CAN'T LET THEM RUN LOOSE!"

Kathy: "Do you know how many innocent people are killed by the justice system? By the police alone? Get off your high-horse, not everything is black and white."

Tekashi: "How can you even sleep at night?"

Kathy: "Happily because I know my friends aren't hurting more than the world has let them. You think Waller is bad now? You haven't even seen her real bad side."
