I think a massive facet of Tim's secret identity should be that everyone in Gotham knows that if Tim had Bat Skills, he would simply be a benevolent supervillain instead. A feral little gremlin who would take out the kneecaps of every boomer trying to embezzle charity funds. Like, this is the bitch that's constantly ready to fight God in a Denny's parking lot. He would be out there committing murder every time someone tried to rezone Gotham's voting districts again; he'd just show up in their dark living room with anime eyeshine like, "oh? And you thought you could get away with this? 🔪"

"Socialism, like the ancient ideas from which it springs, confuses the distinction between government and society. As a result of this, every time we object to a thing being done by government, the socialists conclude that we object to its being done at all.
Frédéric Bastiat (1801-1850) French political economist.

The rental prices in regional areas are such a joke. When I moved here I got a 3br house for 360/w and now that I'm moving out they're advertising it for 430/w even though there's a gaping hole in the lounge room ceiling, severe water damage, structural issues that have gone unaddressed for the three years we've been here and the photos they've put on the listing are so old they're only showing the external views even though that's not what the house looks like anymore.
So not only is the quality of the housing quite poor, they're hiking up the price to more than half of minimum wage's weekly income. It's really terrible like how are people who live in regional areas who get paid a lot less on average than people in cities meant to afford that really. It's perpetuating poverty.

In the highlands of the Peruvian Andes, life is not always easy. Now, the sustainable harvesting of sphagnum moss is providing a source of long-term income and helping women to thrive
Juanjo Moya Ladines is showing me a prototype. It’s a wafer-thin blue strip of mesh, about the same size as a ruler, with a layer of moss inside. He hopes that one day filters like this can be used to bring clean water to communities across the globe.
The plant inside is a type of sphagnum moss. Grown wild in countries across the globe, it’s already used as a natural pool filter, in enclosures for pet frogs, and to clean up oil spills. It was even enlisted to treat wounds in World War I.
At social enterprise Inka Moss, where Moya Ladines works, it’s mainly harvested for horticulture. It’s perfect for “picky plants” like orchids, he says. “The moss is an incredibly amazing product. I personally love it. Which is a really weird thing to say, but I love moss,” he laughs.
The benefits of sphagnum moss aren’t just practical – they’re human. Especially for the women who live in the highlands of Peru.

"Socialism needs to pull down wealth; [classical] liberalism seeks to raise up poverty. Socialism would destroy private interests, Liberalism would preserve [them] ... by reconciling them with public right. Socialism would kill enterprise; Liberalism would rescue enterprise from the trammels of privilege and preference. Socialism assails the preeminence of the individual; Liberalism seeks ... to build up a minimum standard for the mass. Socialism exalts the rule; Liberalism exalts the man. "
Winston Churchill (1874-1965) British Prime Minister.

Do Vulcans have friends? Heres my take on it:
Despite what they like to tell themselves, Vulcan social relationships is such that like humans, they need to have close companions to thrive. As in, they don't do so well in social isolation either. I mean, there definitely is a standard that they should be hitting that most of them aren't. But generally, most of them don't notice any issues since they deal with all their feelings through meditation anyway.
The difference lies in how we determine these close companions.
Humans don't have psychic connections with other humans, so for us friendship is determined by an imaginary criteria of social rapport. Our brains maintain and analyze this criteria subconsciously and we don't really notice it happening (although we definitely notice it's absence). Which is why for many people: animals, long distance friends, or even chatbots can starve off loneliness as long as there is the expected level of rapport with the other being.
While Vulcans have a similar awareness of rapport for political and professional reasons, they don't directly connect it to friendship. Instead, they determine connection on a personal level by psychic bonds or links. In fact, the main reason why Vulcans don't have friends is because they stopped melding with non family. (Not because they don't have the concept of friends) While the average Vulcan should have at least a dozen bonds/links for good mental health: they usually only have a few because of societal customs. It is also my theory that this is why they have such a centralized focus on their mates (and to some extent their intermediate family) as the only socially accepted bond they are allowed to maintain. It is ALSo my theory that because of the relationship of touch to their telepathy they also have needs related to touch (mostly focused on their hands). And again, as the only socially acceptable person they're able to regularly touch, their mates take up the most space in their head rent free.
This is similar to the phenomenon I see in America where men are socially discouraged from being cuddly with their friends and instead end up funneling all their touch starved desires into sex instead. Except human men also have cultural mores of masculinity which may also discourage them from being cuddly with their wives. Vulcans have emotional suppression which may prevent some of them from being cuddly with their mates? Idk. I think some of them still would in private.
So Vulcans would not gain any social connection with long distance friends unless the bond has already been established. Not to mention Vulcan bonds already have a distance limit depending on how strong it is.
The presence of these bonds/links means that a Vulcan in complete social isolation can starve off loneliness where a human would have lost it long ago. However on the flip side, where a human can starve off social isolation as mentioned before with an unpresent conversation partner, without even the most tenuous of links a Vulcan could not do the same.
The links are created by some level of strong psychic connection. Usually shielding is enough to ward off most unwanted links. However physical contact can make said links more likely.
In fact the reason why they shield when with humans (along with most other species) is because the length and intimacy of a handshake is long enough to develop a link. Touching someone on the shoulder isn't. Unless they are doing it for a (by human standards) abnormally long time. Mind Melding is enough. Standing in someone's presence can be enough if both minds are reaching out (which is why they can develop a link with someone they have a recruited crush on). Humans have a very loud presence of mind (equivalent to a vulcan reaching out with their own) and it is known to Vulcans that not shielding can be enough to develop links with them just by being around them for just a few hours. Touching the skin of a 'loud mind' a lot can be enough to develop a link (even if they themselves are shielding) which is why they try to limit the amount of handshakes they have.
And yes I do mean that Solkar totally had a link with Zefram Cochrane.

"There is a future to be built more urgently and more ambitiously than anything achieved since the Post-War years."  - Social Enterprise Awards 2022
The event also included a video message from Welsh actor Michael Sheen, who is a patron of Social Enterprise UK. Introducing himself as “your number one fan”, Sheen said there was “a future to be built more urgently and more ambitiously than anything achieved since the post-war years”.
He added: “It's comforting to know that you're all there this evening, plotting, planning, and working out what you're going to do next to realise the reality of a fairer economy… You are there discovering new ways of designing justice in our systems and structures, thinking up bigger, bolder ambitions, and putting your mind to the long-term needs of future generations whilst addressing the urgency of the here and now.”
