a new (returning) character being added to 9-1-1's roster means that at some point, buck has to scream tommy's name in terror. he just has to. like. can you imagine how much differently that would hit? we saw the members of the 118 give buck the grieving spouse treatment when they all thought eddie was dead in a well. but if buck's boyfriend—as in, his actual, honest to god, officially recognized boyfriend—was in literal danger somewhere? jesus. i just got chills. i need it like oxygen.

His entire body shakes and he's just like ''it's Tommy Eddie. I can't lose him. I can't I won't #survive it'' and Eddie's eyes sting with tears but he's just like ''I know I know. Thinking about a human world au again…

If Beel is a farmer, he has a lot of property out in some rural area, right? A place with almost no light pollution…

So Belphie’s an astronomer & lives in an observatory on Beel’s property, sleeping all day & looking up at the sky all night. He’s up on all the latest research in astrophysics, but doesn’t actively contribute himself. He discovered a small planet & he’s famous in the community for this. Gets regular grants from the local university so he can continue his “research.” Nobody bothers to look too deeply into whether or not he’s actually doing anything with it. They like to give it to him because it makes them look good. But also… Satan is a professor at the university & all he has to do is look menacingly at the grant people to keep Belphie getting those funds.

Belphie spends a lot of time with Beel (obviously) & especially loves to take naps with the dairy cows in the fields or in the barn.

Every once in a while, he’ll attend some university conference usually because Satan drags him to them.

I want Satan to have dark academia vibes, so he gets to be a professor. Of… something. History maybe? Something where he has to spend a lot of time with books. Lots of books.

Now while they all live in the same city/area, I think Satan & Asmo have their own place together near the university. I just like the idea of them being roomies.

They have multiple cats. Any time Satan brings home too many strays, Asmo gathers some of them up & brings them to Beel’s farm. Satan doesn’t mind cause he knows they’ll be looked after & he can go visit them whenever he likes.

Satan also dabbles in rare book dealing & has a shady network of rare booksellers.

actually, no, back to this again. sam should have zero concept of heat post-cage/lucifer possession. he can put as many layers on as he wants, go out in the middle of a summer day, wrap himself in a blanket, stand next to a fire, stand in the fire, and he's still cold. he's always cold.

which leads to problems when he keeps accidentally grabbing things that are hot enough to burn him and not noticing until the damage is already done. he learns to always hesitate before touching anything just in case, eventually. before that, he spends a lot of time with his palms bandaged around re-aggravated burns, nearly healed but for how he tried to cook something the other day and couldn't feel the heat from the stove, didn't pull his hand away until dean shouted at him.

he's cold. he's cold. his body temperature is several degrees lower than it should be, but the one time it gets to 97.6°, outcome of an experiment with castiel to see if they could fix it, he felt like he was having a fever so bad it might kill him. dean never gets used to feeling the chill under his skin whenever he hugs sam. sometimes his breath fogs in front of him. he shies away from spending the night with anyone because they might feel like they're caressing a ghost. he's walking hypothermia, but that's the way his body likes it now.

the thing is, the cold's not a leftover of lucifer's grace. not really. that's not how cold works. it's an absence. (so the cage freezes, so lucifer freezes, because it, because he, is cut off from God.)

one day, sam is finally standing across from lucifer again. and he feels warm.
