Emerald: Ruby? Weiss? May I talk to both of you for one minute?
Ruby: Emerald? You want to talk?
Emerald: Yes.
Weiss: With us?
Emerald: Yes. Do you both have the time or not?
Weiss: Um… sure.
Ruby: This is rare so I am curious about how this conversation will go.
Emerald: Okay, good. Now, if you don’t feel comfortable, we can drop this. Alright?
Ruby: Okay.
Weiss: Absolutely.
Emerald: Good. So… which one of you is going to give it up to Jaune?
Weiss: WHAT THE-
Ruby: WHEN DID WE GET TO THIS POINT?! WHEN?!
Emerald: I’m just saying. When are any of you going to give the man something for his efforts?
Weiss: There is no way this is happening. Especially not from you.
Ruby: *looks around*
Emerald: Ruby what are you doing?
Ruby: Checking for cameras and microphones at the very least. But mainly to see if Nora or Blake are hiding anywhere. This is something straight out of their book.
Emerald: Look, I’m just asking a simple question. Now Ruby I understand considering-
Ruby: No. Stop.
Emerald: I mean-
Ruby: Shut up.
Emerald: Fine. But you Weiss, I don’t understand.
Weiss: Alright look. I somewhat am impressed with Jaune, but I don’t like him like that. We’re just friends.
Ruby: Yeah and so are we!
Emerald: So after everything he’s done for both of you, you don’t think of him as anything other than a friend?
Ruby and Weiss: Yes.
Emerald: Even though he helps both of you. Saves both of you. And kept both your sisters alive.
Ruby: Um…
Weiss: I mean… yeah.
Emerald: Mhmm. Disappointing.
Ruby: Excuse me?
Emerald: I’m just saying I met no one besides Hazel and Mercury who would go that far for me. If I were you girls I try to keep that around.
Weiss: What are you trying to say?
Me: Cinder and Neo may have had a point. You two don’t deserve shit. Ungrateful bitches.
Weiss: Look, Emerald, Ruby and I care about Jaune. Plus, you make it sound like we don’t stand a chance now to get with him.
Emerald: Because you don’t. Especially when you had Jessica ahead of you both.  And she’s not from this universe.
Ruby: How do you know about Jessica?
Emerald: Jaune told me and he didn’t skip the details.
Ruby: … … um…
Emerald: And he’s older now.
Weiss: But not as mature.
Emerald: How so? I mean, he cares about others. And he’s responsible. How does that not count as being mature?
Weiss: Well he yelled at Ruby.
Emerald: Did he have a reason?
Ruby: He was always angry and frustrated.
Emerald: Again did he have a reason?
Ruby and Weiss: Yes.
Emerald: Okay, look, if you girls don’t want him fine. Just don’t be mad when another woman decides to claim him.
Ruby: Pfft like who?
Emerald: I don’t know. Maybe just any girl willing to put up with him. Help him. And unlike Pyrrha would take any opportunity to seal the deal. Maybe Winter. Elm. Me. Harriet. Possibly any one better.
Ruby: Hold on what you say.
Emerald: I said what I said.
Weiss: Emerald, you are no older than us.
Emerald: I mean I can wait and if it doesn’t work out I’ll find someone new. But again… what about you Schnee cause I believe your chances are slim.
Weiss: What?
Emerald: Because you are basic.
Weiss: Basic? Oh, I will show you ‘basic’.
Ruby: No, Weiss. Calm down. No.
Weiss: Let me go, Ruby.
Emerald: Well I am going to take my leave. Later losers.
Weiss: I KILL YOU!!

I love the visual story telling with Weiss and us only getting to see the back of her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We got it twice last episode anytime someone asked her about what happened after they fell.
Tumblr media
It’s…it’s all gone. There’s nothing left for me to go back to. Just like Beacon.
While Weiss has largely been the comic relief, she also knows she has nothing now. Her original home is gone. Beacon, her other home and place of safety, gone. What is even left for Weiss back on Remnant?
Tumblr media
But it wasn’t enough. We hatched a crazy plan that put a whole kingdom at risk, and we don’t even know if we saved the relics from…
Maybe Jaune and Winter were able to get them out, despite everything…despite us.
I mentioned before I wonder if Weiss has realized it was her wording that caused help not to come back. I think she might be picking up on it if she didn’t. She’s shouldering so much blame for not being able to do enough to stop Cinder or do anything for Penny. The focus on Myrtenaster with her being low on dust, something that is also gone for her when they get back. Another reminder her home, and everything she wanted for her future are gone. Not only did she fail, she feels useless now. What more can she do but be frustrated at the absurdity of their current situation?
It really feels like the camera is not allowing the audience to see Weiss’s shame and sadness and I truly love it.

The Kiss and All Their Growth
Holy shit what a day it has been, the bees kiss has left me rambling like a madman and spending half my shift in a stupor.
But, a friend of mine let me ramble in her DM’s about this scene and now I wanted to do a rough run down of the ways their confession hit on so many major points of trauma for the both of them, so get ready for a run down!
Starting with the way that Yang asks Blake if she’s okay, Yang in just as much danger, just as stuck and checking in with Blake, and Blake on the other hand “I’ll feel a lot better, when we’re together on that platform.” which just is such a perfect example of exactly the things that they’re about to say to each other. Yang being brave, caring, Blake knowing what she wants, Yang.
And then Yang, not getting anywhere, defaults to supporting Blake. Trusting that Blake will figure out the puzzle here, because she’s smart, which Yang says in her trusty dorky humor, lightening the mood on top of lifting up Blake.
And then Yang with that loud ass “You have cat ears” and the doofy smile, and holy shit I only just noticed but one of Blake’s ears literally flicks toward Yang after that line. But then Yang much gentler saying “I think your cat ears are cute.” Because she’s not trying to lighten the mood this time, this one’s real.
And then when Blake figures out what it is, saying thing’s they’ve never said, Yang defers to her, she doesn’t do the expected thing of saying a silly line, she gives Blake the room so to speak. Immediately trusting Blake’s judgement here and maybe more importantly, letting Blake set the bar for just how deep this would be.
And this is where it starts fucking me up, Blake’s start is an immediate shot through the heart. “I think you’re an extraordinary person.” We see Yang’s face go from her usual playful smirk to genuine surprise. And it reminds me so much of Yang’s answer to Oobleck back in Volume 2. Yang heard what her team’s goals were and she found herself lacking. Ruby wanted to be the hero who saved people, Weiss wanted to bring back the honor of her family, Blake wanted to help her people, and Yang, Yang wasn’t any of that, she didn’t have a noble goal, she was, just Yang. For Blake, someone that Yang has admired and loved for so long to say that she’s extraordinary. It runs so counter to how she’s always seen herself.
And Blake keeps going, “always the first to lighten a situation, you act bravely when you’re afraid.” Two more huge points. Because this is who Yang has always been. The jokes and the bravado, it’s a nice mask to hide behind but these traits Blake points out, is possibly the first time anyone in Yang’s life has ever actually seen her. When Summer died, when Raven left, when Tai fell apart. It was just her and Ruby, and what did Yang do? She put on a brave face, she made jokes and played games, and filled Ruby’s life with as many moments of joy as she could. Because Ruby deserved a happy childhood. Because Yang is above all else, brave and kind. And then Blake finished with “you do what you say.” and this one is personal to her especially. Blake who’s been manipulated and deceived so many times, for some many years by someone she thought she could trust. And this time, Yang is what Blake thought Adam might be at the start. All those ideals and manipulations he used to make himself look better than he was. Yang just is all of those things.
And then, as others have pointed out, Blake’s “Try to keep up!” doing for Yang what Yang always does for others. Lightening Yang’s load this time.
Yang’s response “I like that you’ve never been intimidated by me.” Yang who’s always been too, who obscures piece of herself almost instinctively. Who’s had so much anger in her that it feels like too much. Not with Blake, never with Blake. Blake who’s seen Yang truly get angry, and still trusts her, isn’t afraid because she knows Yang. Even in the emerald forest. And then Yang bringing up how Blake doesn’t give up. Blake who spent so much time hating herself for running, being a coward. And Yang who even at the beginning said things like “you’re not one to back down from a challenge.” Because even when Blake was still so scarred by her trauma, Yang saw who she really was, someone who doesn’t give up. “You know what matters to you.” and god just, the way that Yang is so spot on but so blind, that she doesn’t see how what matters most to Blake now, is her.
And it’s insane to me because Yang has spent her whole life putting herself last. Always putting those around her in front because they’re all incredible and she’s just Yang. She never saw that Blake picked her in the Emerald Forest, that Blake carried her through the ruins of Beacon, that Blake was so sorry that Yang got injured. She didn’t see what a broken down mess Blake became after.
And then they stare at each other so lovingly, so tenderly, god it makes me insane. And Yang is so scared. Yang’s so used to acting when she’s scared, but that’s always been in times of danger, not with her emotions. She’s spent her whole life bottling those up and locking them away so no one can see the deepest parts of her.
And then the way that CRWBY so perfectly gave Blake the initiative, but had Blake use to nudge Yang to finally say what she feels, for Yang to finally let her wants and hopes be spoken, to not have to hide herself anymore. And Yang still so terrified “I think i’m in love with you.” Saying it like she’s giving Blake an out, like she can back out of these feelings or something. And it’s crazy cuz it’s Yang saying what she feels but not pushing, never pushing. Blake who’s spent so many years being pushed around and controlled and told what to do. And Yang who has never ever pushed her, never forced her to do things she doesn’t want to or be someone she doesn’t want to be, even now, even when all Yang wants is Blake, she still refuses to push any of it on Blake. And Blake, fuck, Blake knowing, knowing how terrified Yang is, how even now Yang is still so patient, so held back, saying “I love you too” almost before Yang’s even finished. Because she doesn’t want to give Yang even a second, not even a fraction of a moment to think that Blake might not love her back.
Yang’s stunned because how could this be real. Yang who’s spent her whole life being left behind, finally finding someone who wants her just as badly and she wants them. They lean in and you can see on Yang’s face how she’s still so stunned, but every motion makes it more and more real and then they’re kissing, and they’re so close together and Yang pulls her closer because it’s not close enough and GOD I’M INSANE ABOUT THEM!
But yeah, that’s all I got, i’m sure there’s plenty of things i’m forgetting that also apply in this scene, but just, so many parts of this confession and kiss reminded me of their past and how much they’ve grown since then and I couldn’t help but point them out. Thank you for reading!

How do you think Pyrrha would act if she saw all the milfs hitting on Jaune? Like Canon Pyrrha?
Canon Pyrrha, huh? Well, let's look at Pyrrha's personality in itself. Pyrrha is a confident combatant with a bit of reservation when she has to socially interact with anyone she isn't familiar with, though she quickly warms up to people when they get on her good side. She's also very thoughtful of her friends, especially her partner when he needs a confidence boost himself. Then again, this is me going off what I think about Pyrrha, so I could be wrong on that.
HOWEVER, if we're assuming Pyrrha somehow managed to survive her encounter with Cinder, she and Jaune DEFINITELY end up together. Like, together-together. Things go easier during her trip with Ruby and her team to Haven, though they still have trouble against things like the destroyed villages, Tyrian, the Nuckelavee, and they manage to reach Haven no problem, and the fight with Cinder goes a lot better with her having to team up with Raven to fend off the couple. Weiss almost dies, again, and Jaune manages to save her while Pyrrha covers his retreat to help her.
They reach Argus with no problem, though RWBY still fall off the train. As they start considering where to stay the night, and since this is Pyrrha's hometown, they're almost immediately swarmed by the paparazzi. Thankfully, Mama Nikos comes in to save them, though she doesn't have enough room for JNPR, since it used to be just her and little teen Pyrrha. So they stay with Jaune's sister and Pyrrha falls immediately in love with Adrian. When Yang and Weiss show up, she shows them a neat trick she does to get him to laugh so much he hiccups. Pyrrha helps fight off Cordovin since despite being a "proud child of Atlas," she's not convinced to help someone she barely knows over Weiss and Jaune. There's a moment where Nora asks if Pyrrha could stop the Colossus, to which Pyrrha replies she's "never tried with something like his before," which could be foreshadowed with Pyrrha catching a robot toy Adrian throws at them when he's being ignored, but she mentions she had a few days of practice.
They manage to reach Atlas, get caught, and now we come to the answer to your question of what would happen if Pyrrha sees Jaune getting hit on by the moms. I'm not one to believe Pyrrha would get "yandere" levels of jealous, but considering how much she cares about Jaune based on how much she's willing to sacrifice for his safety, I'd say she would be very jealous about losing Jaune. Not enough to be hostile, but I do see the scene playing out as Nora saying "It's definitely the hair~" with Pyrrha giving a cute pout and replying, "I know."

The assistant (8) – A Captain and six brothers
Tumblr media
That bastard is still out there. He’s lurking,” Lloyd grumbles angrily. “Let me get the big guns out. I’ll kill him with one precise blow to his ugly face.”
“Lloyd we talked about this. We won’t kill Captain America,” Andy tuts. He checks on the security cameras again.
“But the thought is nice—” Lloyd flashes his brother a smirk. “Right? Don’t you want to lose control sometimes and just punch the asshole?”
“You’ll only break your hand,” you grab Lloyd’s hand before he can punch an invisible enemy. “We talked about this. Let me handle my former boss. He’s stubborn but will lose interest soon enough.”
“I don’t think he will leave anytime soon,” Ari looks out of the window to keep an eye on Steve. He’s sitting in front of the gate, pouting like an angry child.
“Fine,” you huff. “He leaves me no choice.” You get your phone out to call someone to get Steve off your friends’ property. “I hate getting him involved, but this can’t be helped.”
Tumblr media
“Gentlemen,” Tony watches you and the brothers step out of the mansion. He grins and licks his lips at Steve’s reaction. The captain barks orders at your friends, ready to take the gate down.
“Mr. Stark, thank you for coming,” you usher the brothers toward the gate. “I didn’t know what else to do. The captain won’t believe me that I stay at my friends’ place on free terms.”
Tony flashes you a smile. He’s still disappointed that you didn’t want to work for him but understands that you needed space and tried to start a new life, with a new job.
“Anything for you, darling,” he gives you a curt nod before turning his attention toward Steve. “Cap, we should go now. Here’s nothing for us to do.”
“Tony, they are holding Y/N hostage,” Steve points at you standing next to the brothers. Ari, Lloyd, and Curtis immediately crowd you. “See, they won’t let her breathe. I can only imagine what they have done to her since she came here.”
“OH, yeah,” Tony smirks at his friend. “She looks very displeased.” He quirks a brow.
“See—” Steve nods. “You can see it too!”
“Steve, I tried to be sarcastic. Y/N is glowing and looks happy. We should leave her and her friends alone.”
“No! I won’t leave her to these vultures wanting to take advantage of her kindness and innocence. I have to save her!”
“Ah,” the cocky billionaire nods thoughtfully. “I think we are having a Snow White situation here.” Tony smirks at his friend.
“What do you mean, asshat?” Lloyd grunts, ready to fight Iron Man and Captain America if he must.
“Seven guys longing for one woman?” Tony snickers. “Six brothers and one Captain trying to win the beautiful princess’s heart over.”
“I understand that reference, but I’m not a dwarf, Tony,” Steve grunts. “If she’s Snow White, then I’m the Prince Charming!” He points at the brother. “And these men are not friendly dwarfs but criminals and kidnappers.”
“Hey! I’m not a dwarf either, Iron Bucket,” Lloyd angrily glares at Tony. “I know you were always good to Y/N, but I won’t let you get away with insulting me…or my brothers.”
“Wait! I think Snow White got seven dwarfs, right?” Mike throws in. He furrows his brows, struggling to remember the fairytale their mother used to read to him. “We are only six.”
“This makes Captain asshole the seventh dwarf,” Curtis laughs loudly. “I think he’s the one they called Dopey. He doesn’t understand the simplest things.”
“I’ll free Y/N!” Steve points his index finger at Curtis. “You won’t hurt her on my watch.”
“Hurt her?” Jake has had enough. He steps toward the gate, hands wrapping around the bars. Jake sneers at Steve and grits his teeth. “The only person hurting her was you! She lost her job, the one she loved because you wanted to stick your dick into that stupid bitch’s snatch. What a man you are. Ordering food for everyone but the sweet woman saving your ungrateful ass every day.”
“You know nothing about me and Y/N!” Steve angrily replies. “I-I made mistakes but tried to apologize. When I came to her home, she was gone. Kidnapped by you and your brothers!”
“We didn’t kidnap her! Y/N is my friend. She came to my café to tell me about all the shit you pulled on her. Day after day she worked her cute ass off to make your life easier. Was it too much to ask for that you gave her a little respect and paid for her fucking lunch?” Jake kicks the bars. “I swear, you’re lucky the gate is in between us. If not, you’d be dog food.”
“Whoa, Jakie,” Lloyd places his hand on his brother’s shoulder. “Freaking out and threatening people to kill them is my job. How about you bring Y/N back inside and leave this job to me and Ari.”
“She stands right behind you, Lloyd,” you grunt and slap Lloyd’s ass. “I can speak for myself.” You step next to Jake to look Steve in the eyes. “Listen, I know you believe what you are doing is the right thing, but you couldn’t be more wrong. These men are my friends. Jake is my friend and he’d never hurt me. Please just leave.”
“But they—” Steve points at Lloyd. “I don’t trust them. I know you are kind and believe people are always good, but there are bad people out there, who wanting to take advantage of a pretty girl like you. I can’t let them do this to you.”
“My friends won’t harm me in any way,” you purse your lips. “I’m not like Sandy, a damsel in distress. I don’t look tough like Agent Romanoff, but I know how to defend myself.”
“She can defend herself,” Ari places his hand on your shoulder, “but she doesn’t have to. We are here to defend her and her honor. So, if you’d kindly fuck off now, we want to have dinner with our lovely Y/N.”
“Tony, don’t you have anything to say?” Steve despairs. He can see the determination in your eyes and can only hope you are not wrong. He’d never forgive himself if these men take advantage of you. “Do something!”
“Alright,” Tony claps his hands. “I got enough of this, kiddos. I’m too old for this shit.” He says. “Even though, Capsicle is older than me.”
“Tony!”
“How about you let Steve stay for the night? He promises to behave, and you promise to let him have a look at Y/N’s room.”
“He can have a look at my ass before I let him inside my home!” Lloyd points at his ass.
“Uh-I don’t know,” Mike murmurs. “If he can have a look around the house and sees that we are treating Y/N with respect, he’ll leave us alone.”
“I hate to say it, but Mike ain’t wrong,” Andy throws in. “He won’t leave and I’m not much into getting spied on. Having Captain America lurk around your house is bad for our reputation. People will start asking questions.”
Steve watches the brothers and you discuss Tony’s suggestion. He uses his enhanced hearing to listen to your heartbeat. Your heart beats normally. You’re not afraid at the moment, but he’s still not convinced that you are not in danger.
“Fine by me.” Steve finally says.
“The shield stays outside,” Lloyd points at Steve’s shield. “…and you won’t set foot into our home wearing your ugly suit. Civilian clothes, no shield.”
“He’ll follow your rules and leave your house, tomorrow morning,” Tony stretches his hand out. “I give you my word, Mr. Hansen.”
“I’ll keep you up on that promise,” Lloyd grabs Tony’s hand. He squeezes hard, making sure Tony knows the man in front of him isn’t afraid of Iron Man at all. “If you break it…well…you don’t want to know what happens if you fuck with Lloyd Hansen.”
“Revenge for champions will happen,” Ari grunts. He points at Tony. “You better keep your buddy in line. If not, I’ll release the beast.”
“…I’m the beast,” Lloyd smirks darkly. “I love letting hellfire rain down on my enemies. Especially when I can defend our sweet Y/N…”

Oh wow… I said I was going to try and post here more often and tell my theories but I completely forgot to… anyways, is it just me or am being delusional?
And I don’t know if I have talked about this on here before but does anyone notice how Weiss Nevermore summon is possibly greatly connected to Ruby and Weiss relationship?
Like… if you think about it for a moment and just analyze what the Nevermore possibly symbolize/represents (as a great deal of Weiss summons are allusions to something or share some sort of connection or mean something), you sort of just notice that Nevermore is practically directly linked to Ruby and Weiss relationship
(Which makes sense given that Weiss wasn’t really the one to have killed the Nevermore… it was Ruby who cut off its head)
And the way this Nevermore summon connects to Ruby and Weiss relationship symbolically is possibly through it representing Trust, belief, connection, understanding and Freedom (possibly)
(Which again, makes sense for the Freedom part due to how birds are symbolically used to represent freedom)
But the thing that made me think this and made me sort of notice this connection is when the Nevermore is first killed and the slow gradual attempts by Weiss at summoning the Nevermore until her first actual summoning against CC (also some stuff about what Winter said about summoning/the Schnee family semblance back in V3)
And the reasons these make me think of this… well, starting off with the Nevermore being killed
This part is rather simple since It’s the beginning piece of what creates and gives way for Weiss to be able to summon the Nevermore
In the beginning of the finale fight of the Emerald forest arc against both the Nevermore and the Scorpion (brain fart, forgot its name), both Ruby and Weiss sort of come to a small mutual understanding about each other and both chooses to accept and trust in the other
When Ruby comes up with a plan to kill the Nevermore, a plan that Weiss chooses to trust in and chooses to believe in Ruby (and Ruby chooses to trust in and believe in Weiss as well) being able to kill the Nevermore
And this belief in Ruby is quite easily proven true
Now moving on to the bit about Weiss attempts to summon the Nevermore till she truly does in the finale of V10
And before I fully go into depth on it, I would like to say some stuff about how during the atlas arc… Ruby and Weiss slowly got more and more distant from each other due to being too busy, having issues with some burdens, or possibly some miscommunication
And this is important because this is slightly reflected in Weiss first attempt to Summon the Nevermore in order to try and save Ruby… but yet she fails due to not being quick enough in summoning the Nevermore (and partially because of a Grimm attacking her before she could summon), because her connection and sort of understanding about Ruby has sort of… fades a bit due to distance
But this slightly changes come V9, after RWBY reunites
With how Weiss comes to learn and understand a bit about Ruby’s current emotional state and tries her best to help her a bit by trying to talk to her and get her to open up… but fails as Ruby doesn’t want to talk right now and chooses to focus on the task at hand
Something important to note is how Weiss not only understands that Ruby is hurting and something is bothering her… but Weiss also partially misunderstands when Ruby walks away when Weiss is trying to talk to her about Penny… that Ruby wants to be left alone for now and wants to get things handled first before she opens up
And Weiss (believing in that little misunderstanding since Ruby does want someone to support her or talk to her and help her) chooses to trust and believe that Ruby will talk to her and open up to her about what’s hurting her and will rely on her as well as coming to accept that Ruby needs some time
Leading to Weiss being able to almost fully summon the Nevermore but only being to summon the wings and use the wings
But not yet being able to manifest it yet
Until Ruby breaks and Weiss comes to understand and fully realize what was wrong with Ruby and what she needed most
Until the group arrives at Tree statue Ruby and Weiss comes to understand, trust and believe and accept that whoever or whatever comes out of that statue, will still be Ruby Rose
That whoever Ruby chooses to be and comes out as… Will always be Weiss’s partner, leader, and best friend to her
Which once Ruby comes back and once again… proves that belief true
Weiss is fully able to summon and conjure up the Nevermore to help in the fight against CC
But who knows… I could just be coming up with this is or looking a bit too deep… but what are all of you folks thoughts?
Also, I didn’t really get into the “Freedom” part about the whole Nevermore thing and might just make a part two to fully explore it
But to simplify it just to put it in here
The Nevermore represents Freedom because through Acceptance and Understanding, through trust and believing in one another
Ruby and Weiss manages to come together and learn to be free together
Free to choose who they want to become and who they wish to be
Free to follow their own path and define their own name
Free to find joy and love wherever it may be… to be free to find comfort and warmth in friends, family, and partner quite special
But again… what are your thoughts on it

Prof. Schnee AU Concept
To be clear this isn't the only Au/ comic I'll put the model in but it is the one that comes to mind for me most often.
All of team RWBY are born into the previous generation. Weiss along with her brother Whitley secured and manage the SDC. Though in truth Whitley takes care of most of the actual work. Though she was far from dull she did have to admit that Whitley was solely groomed to manage the company while her time was decided between it and her combat training.
Weiss herself still had power and plenty of a say but her Huntress duties took priority... And obligations as a teacher as well, yes. She was a instructor at Beacon. Helping to groom the next generation into respectable Hunters.
Tumblr media
Mostly she was pleaded into it by her partner Ruby but still she took her job seriously.
Tumblr media
Which was more then she could say for the rest of her team! All three of them off gallivanting across Remnant taking missions. Honestly sometimes they could be such a headache. But she supposed Ozpin had sent them all on those missions...
Tumblr media
Regardless she was determined to perform no less admirably this year then any other. And considering that Pyrrha Nikos would be entering this year she believed it would be a very worthwhile year given her skill.
But there was always room for surprises like miss Valkyrie, who was frankly a Yang level ridiculous powerhouse.
Yes, this year would've been a valuable one even if those were the only two of note... But they weren't. No, the third would be...
"Please Go Out With Me!"
Tumblr media
Would be Jaune Arc, a paradoxically lacking student and yet one worth her admiration. He was a special case like Blake had been according to Ozpin. A boy who secured counterfeit transcripts to earn a chance to try out Initiation. Though whereas her teams resident Faunus had been a member of the White Fang mister Arc had been a civilian out in one of Remnant's frontier villages. A simple boy with some dreams of heroics and knighthood.
He was actually like her partner Ruby in several ways but with a father who denied his dreams instead of supporting them like Ruby had... That, that was something she could relate to, could sympathize with and it was not all.
He wanted to live up to his family's name, to bring honor to it, to be anything to stop being the one to be protected but to protect others Instead. He was many things, foolish, naïve and certainly stubborn… But he was brave. What else could you call a boy who entered the Emerald Forest prepared to face monsters but courageous.
Jaune Arc had a long way to go, had a tough road ahead of him, if she’d thought catching Ruby up on their studies back in the day was hard this would be a true trial. But, but she wanted him to succeed, she wasn’t the same girl she’d been back in the day, who viewed people so callously, so superficially. She saw how much Jaune wanted this, how willing he was to put his life on the line for complete strangers as he fought the Death Stalker.
Apparently he wasn’t the most studious student but she never had issues, he may have lacked proper knowledge of Dust in her class but he was always quick to learn and put in the effort. Offering to help however he could.
Then he was being bullied, and then he stopped it, she knew how, she saw the recordings, saw Winchester Threaten him with blackmail. Saw her student being used like a lackey and distant from his team… And then she saw him refuse to follow Cardin’s order when it affected someone else. And then witnessed him save said tormentor when his teammates had ran.
Jaune Arc just like her partner embodied what it meant to be a Huntsman, he just needed some help on the way… And then he asked her out.
Flustered, nervous, clearly embarrassed, it was a sight she wasn’t used to, every man and woman who courted her had done so with annoying confidence in their status or family ties, had saw her as a particularly beneficial tool to use or trophy to own or worst of all… A knot on the metaphorical belt.
But Jaune, despite the way he entered Beacon was a rather earnest man, which was why she would do this in the kindest but also most direct way possible. Because she remembered being rejected as well. And wanted him to suffer as little as possible.
"Jaune, I'm your teacher..." He looked sad but accepting.

"R-right... I'm sorry I know it was wrong t-"
"That's why I don't want you going around and telling anyone." She blinked that the words she said it seeming to finally catch up with her brain her... Wait? That wasn't what she was supposed to say! Jaune seemed to be under the same impression as her thoughts as he spoke with a  dumbfounded look on his precious youthful face.
"Really!" Yes Really!? What was she doing accepting his confession, but once more before her conscious could interrupt she parted her lips again.
"Though it isn't against the rules that Beacon upholds it is heavily frowned upon Jaune." Damn her for studying said rules! No! Stop Looking At His Absolutely Beamimg Smile This Instant! Just Because He's A Cute Boy Doesn't Mean We Could Throw Caution To The Wind.
Honestly she couldn't believe she said yes... Moreso that she felt so, so damn giddy about it! Like she was a girl back in her Beacon Days in her first relationship... Okay so technically she was a girl/ woman at Beacon and this was her first relationship but that was beside the point...
She was his teacher and this was... Well, no it wasn't illegal given that Jaune upon passing Initiation was by all legal means a adult under Remnant's Huntsman regulations... But it was still unprofessional! She'd never do anything others could bring into question... Anymore.
Like going out and taking on International criminals, known terrorists cells and preforming vigilante activities while a student.
But all that was besides the point and in the past! She wouldn't play with this boy's heart! She'd do the proper thing and brea-
"Jaune, I hope you understand that I'm not some trollope to be played with I expect you to take this seriously." NO!!! She Did Not Mean That! Shut Up Subconscious!
And oh dear now he was shooting her a very determined, gaze that made her heart skip a beat.
Tumblr media
"Of course not! I'm serious about you miss Schnee!" Oh dear he was closing the distance, and being so assertive... Was, was he always so tall...

A Quick Nora Thought...
Tumblr media
Nora's first appearance in the series sets up her arc in two ways:
Nora: I can't believe we've been at Beacon for a full twenty-four hours! Not that I thought we'd get kicked out or anything, I mean, you're the perfect student and I'm… well, I'm me! But it's just crazy, you know? We've been friends for soooooooo long! What are the odds we'd still be together? Well, not "together-together…" Not that I'm not saying that you're not handsome; you are handsome, but that'd just be weird, right?
Let's focus on 2 lines:
Not "together-togheter"...
I'm... well, I'm me!
Not together-together
Nora is initially co-dependent from Ren. She is saved by him and spends the majority of her life by his side. As a result, she struggles to find a new balance, when her feelings become romantic. They are together platonically, but not romantically. At the same time, Nora's idea of getting together-together as things are is unhealthy.
I'm... well, I'm me!
Let's consider these 2 scenes:
We've got a world-renowned fighter on our team, what's basically a ninja, I can bench five of me… Jaune… We've trained all year, our weapons are awesome, Glynda barely yells at us anymore and… Uhh… Jaune!
Nora: Yeah, they’ll be fine. Jaune’s a great leader, Oscar’s grown a ton, and Yang is more than capable of protecting them all in a fight. Oh, and of course Ren is- um…
Whenever Nora can't properly say who someone is, she would define them by their name. In volume 3, Jaune is still unsure of his identity, so he is no-one, but Jaune. In volume 8, Ren is going through a similar identity crisis, so Ren is someone Nora doesn't know anymore. This speech pattern highlights that the character mentioned has a frail sense of self. Well, what does it say about Nora, then? The very first thing she says is that she is unsure of who she is. Ren is someone, for example a handsome perfect student. But Nora? Who is she?
Ren + Nora = Renora
Nora's arc is built around 2 ideas, which seem opposites. On the one hand her story focuses on her relationship with Ren, as he is her objective since early on. On the other hand she must figure out who she is as an individual. So, how can she be together-together with Ren and be just Nora at the same time?
Nora: I don’t know what he is. Every time I think the two of us are making progress, he… (sighs) We’ve been together our whole lives but I feel like I understand him less now than ever. And I don’t know if that’s his fault or mine. Blake: When you’ve been at someone’s side for so long, after a while they become a part of you. But that’s just it, they’re only a part of you. Don’t forget about the rest. Nora: I don’t actually know who I am… without Ren. Pretty sad, huh? Weiss: Well, maybe take this opportunity to find out? Do something only Nora can do.
The two thematic threads come together in volume 8. Nora doesn't know who Ren is and since she has built her self-image around him, she is suddenly unsure of herself as well. It turns out that to go from Ren + Nora to Renora, our girl needs to figure herself out:
Nora: When my mom ran from the Grimm and left me behind, you found me. We became Ren and Nora. But I realized on this mission apart, I don’t know who “Just Nora” is. And if I’m ever going to find out, then I have to do it alone. Because I’ve always loved you, Lie Ren, and that pretty head on your shoulders seems like it’s doing a lot better. But I still got to get mine sorted out before I can be the partner you need. Is that…okay?
Only in this way, she can be by Ren's side (together), but not in aa codependent way (together-together).
As for who Nora is... the episode Risk makes it pretty clear.
The most beautiful flower of all
Tumblr media
What beautiful blossoms we have this year, but look... This one's late...But I'll bet that when it blooms it will be the most beautiful of all. (Mulan, 1998)
The Renora's confession scene ends with Nora being not ready for a relationship with Ren. And yet, the moment looks at Nora he sees the air full of petals ready to bloom. Considering Ren's Mulan's allusion and the importance flowers have in Renora's arcs, I think the reference is pretty clear.
Nora (a pink flower) has yet to bloom. She is late in a sense. However, the flower which blooms late is the most beautiful of all. That is Nora. Our girl will definately bloom into herself, no matter the adversity she meets:
The flower that blooms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful of all (Mulan, 1998)

Ruby: Well yeah, duh! Me and Jaune are shower buddies. We're doing our part to save the environment. What, do you hate the planet or something?
Ren: *vein popping* And I heard you making sounds that no one that's not in a relationship should be making together.
Ruby: That's just the sound I make when Jaune lathered my entire body up with soap. It's natural reaction to his touch, I can't help it.

Jaune: Wow. I can't believe that Ruby Rose plays for both team. *lovingly hugs her*

The RWBY writers: *Writes five seasons of Blake being stubborn, feisty, active, and passionate, standing up for herself, calling out Weiss when she's anti-faunus, speaking her mind, doing what she wants and only changing her mind if she's been given a good argument, being willing to call out others, trying to take a more realistic approach, has broken away from a toxic and controlling person she's stood up to repeatedly since then, yells "he's mine" while attacking someone she thinks is actively hurting her people, has opened up about her feelings repeatedly, doesn't back down from a challenge, acts openly exasperated when her friends or acquaintances are being stupid, is mature enough to recognize that even when her friend is reminding her of Adam that it doesn't mean that she is Adam and calmly explains her initial hesitance and explains what reassurance she needs before deciding to believe her friend anyway, saw her horrible ex trying to kill people and jumped into a fight with him while proclaiming she wouldn't run away, and then when her friend got hurt gave him this look
Tumblr media
And only ran away when it was Yang's life on the line after tricking him and saving Yang despite having been suffering from a stab wound, etcetera, etcetera.
The RWBY writers: *Writes Weiss to say she'd been used to Blake being 'the quiet one' at the end of V5, implying that the writers want us to think that Blake's behavior in the early seasons had been muted and that now that she'd had a growth arc in V4 and V5 (badly done or not) that she would be more feisty, more outspoken, more self-assured, more passionate, and even more action driven than ever. Which would make sense considering that we saw her take Sun's words to heart concerning the personal growth she needed to do, and seemed to start moving in the direction of shedding her self-hate and blaming herself and start learning to accept love and care instead of pushing people away. And the writers also seemed to want us to believe that she was becoming more of a leader and V5 seemed to mark her finally fully moving on from what had happened with Adam.*
Also the RWBY writers: *Proceeds to write Blake to randomly turn into a meek wallflower who doesn't usually stand up for herself, needs frequent help in fights, gets insecure when she thinks people are unjustly mad at her, plays peacekeeper with her friends while trying to manage their angry moods with soft tones like a mother attempting to corral toddlers in the middle of temper tantrums, doesn't fight or argue when people make anti-faunus cracks at her or call her cat ignorantly or otherwise, flinches and grimaces when Yang gets angry, hides behind Yang when she feels threatened, doesn't really talk things through, is no longer active and is content to wait for her friends to tell her what they should do, the closest she's gotten to active has been in V9 where she was telling her friends about a story they all already knew, hasn't called out or even casually argued with her friends on anything iirc since V6, doesn't care to attend rallies against Jacques Schnee, is characterized like a sweet, caring, shy girl who needs reassurance when her romantic interest goes on a different mission than her, has no problem at all with Yang going red-eyed at the mere suggestion that they should ever take missions apart, acts like she thinks she's going to be hit all the time and wouldn't be able to do anything if she was hit.*
Some RWBY fans: "I am just so happy that Blake is healthy now and gets to be her true self now."
Like, Blake prior to the end of V5 was not "the quiet one" who was so so so super not confident and wasn't her true self. Her relationship with Yang didn't "fix" her and make her confident. The writers haven't actually shown her to be better and healthier and stronger and more sure of herself than before. If anything, they've given us the exact opposite.
How the hell am I meant to think Blake has gotten better when the writers specifically now write her to act this way ever since the beginning of V6? How am I meant to take their 'you used to be the quiet one' seriously when it isn't true? When the opposite is true and she becomes the quiet one in V6? It really just feels like they and a lot of their fans literally forgot who Blake was and replaced her with a whole new person and I'm sitting here like
Tumblr media
How is she now "Not the quiet one" and before she was "the quiet one" when she was five times more outspoken and acted more confident and passionate and feisty before? I do not get it, I do not understand how I'm supposed to think she's more healthy now. I do not know how I'm supposed to think that she's done all her growing and is now much better when she actively seems worse off than she did in V freaking 1.

A Hairy Eulogy
Written with permission from @n6918
The next afternoon, Jaune was wandering around the Academy. He and Team RWBY had left the EverAfter the evening before and arrived just as the sun set.
When they were finally able to reach Shade, Jaune was amazed to see how packed it was. So many people from all the other kingdoms had come.
On one hand, many of the locals were struggling to be around those from Atlas, Vale, and Mistral - tensions between them and the Vecchians were rather high, especially after the war.
But on the other hand, he was glad so many people had gotten Ruby's message and taken it seriously; even Saphron and Terra came with Adrian.
He had gotten an earful from her since he hadn't told the full truth, but it warmed his heart to see his family again, and he promised to keep them out of harm's way.
As he wandered, he noticed the doors to one of the big rooms had been shut. He remembered seeing these ones open yesterday.
'Hello?' He wondered, 'What do we got over here?'
Jaune put his ear to the door, and heard what he could only describe as a wedding march.
'Can people get married at the academies?' He didn't know that until now.
Jaune pushed it open slightly, just enough to see inside. What he saw left him very perplexed.
It was dark inside, save for a spotlight aimed at a podium near the front of the room. Team RWBY were there, as well as Ren, Nora, Oscar, and Emerald. Weiss's sister, brother, and mother were with them too, and so was their butler.
Everyone faced away from the entrance, and so didn't see that Jaune had found them.
"Wha-" he wanted to ask.
Weiss stepped up to the podium, and everyone sat down.
"Dearly beloved." She began grandly, "My Friends. Family. And Ruby."
"Whu- HEY!" Ruby pouted.
Everyone laughed. Weiss hid a giggle behind her dainty hand.
"Oh, come on!" Ruby stamped the ground from her seat,
"Right, right, excuse me." Weiss recovered, "That was very mean of me, and I'm sorry, I won't do it again- moving on!"
"Not funny, Bro." Ruby pushed her lips out.
"We are gathered here this afternoon," Continued Weiss, "Ahem, in the sight of the Gods . . . And the enhanced hearing of our fun-loving-four-eared-friend, Blake-"
"PFFT- shit!" Blake covered her mouth and turned away.
Yang threw her head back to laugh and fell off the bench.
"Ooh, look at me, aren't I being funny?" Weiss sounded amused,
"Get on it with it already!" Nora hollered,
"Okay-okay! Okay." Weiss cleared her throat, "We are gathered here today, on this, most dreadful occasion. To mourn the absolute loss of our Dear friend, Jaune Arc's beard."
Jaune accidentally banged his head against the door.
"The fuck?" He stumbled in and carefully shut the door behind him.
Somehow, no one had noticed. Yang's mouth fell open and her eyebrows lowered as she got off the floor.
"Whu- dude." She took her seat and her eyelids lowered too, "Is this seriously what you dragged us all here for?"
"Yes." Weiss didn't even hesitate,
"Oh- Weiss, honestly." Winter looked disappointed, "I was meant to have a meeting with the Ace-Ops this afternoon, I cleared my schedule for you."
"I- I think our little Snowflake has something important to say about this." Klein interjected kindly, his eyes turned from brown to yellow, "Go on, my dear. What about losing this Jaune's beard has you so upset?"
"Thank you Klein." Weiss smiled at him, "as I was saying-"
"Uh, hold-up!" Interrupted Ruby, "Weiss, are you sure this is a good idea?"
"What do you mean?" Weiss raised an eyebrow,
"Well, like," Ruby tried to find the words, "Is this really something we need to cry about?"
"I still don't follow." Weiss shook her head,
"Dude, it's a frikken beard!" Yang found the words quite easily, "It's not like we need to have a ceremony for it!"
'. . . Thank you?' Jaune wasn't sure how to feel,
"Again, you seriously dragged us here to talk about that?" Yang put her hands on her hips,
"Well, how couldn't I?" Weiss threw her arms up, "I needed to talk to someone about this! Preferably a group of people. I mean, it's a completely, criminally rotten shame he doesn't have it anymore!"
"And that wolf tail too." Blake purred quietly, wiping her nose with a loud sniff,
"You see?" Weiss pointed to her teammate, "She understands!"
"Wait-a-moment, now I'm confused." Whitely raised his hand, "Were you friends with some one named Jaune, or were you friends with his beard?"
"Eughhh . . ." Winter shivered in her seat, "Whitley, please. Don't talk like that."
"Why not?" Whitely was genuinely puzzled,
"The picture it paints isn't one I'm interested in seeing." Winter didn't miss a beat,
"I beg your pardon?" Whitely still didn't understand, "I just want to know who we're holding this funeral for . . . And if I should feel sorry for, um, whomever we're talking about."
"Why is that important?" Winter blushed and wrinkled her nose,
"Well, I'd feel quite offended if someone mourned something so superficial about me." Whitely reasoned, "It'd be like if we held a ceremony for your hair before you dyed it white."
"You dye your hair?" Nora leaned over to see.
Winter glared at her little brother.
'No one was supposed to know.' She thought.
"I'd like to know whether we should do this for your father." Remarked Willow, "I think I prefer the idea of celebrating his mustache rather than the man himself."
The two considered.
"It is what he deserves at the moment." Whitely conceded,
"I like the sound of that as well, Mother." Winter nodded, then she turned back to the podium, "By the way, which one is Jaune again?"
Jaune's stared and gaped. He couldn't tell if Winter was being sarcastic or if she really didn't know, but regardless, he didn't like that at all.
'I'm so glad the first time I broke you a twenty was also the last time I ever broke you a twenty.' He thought grumpily, 'I worked with you for six months, and you don't even know my name? You literally ditched me in the Central Location like three days ago!'
Suddenly.
"BARK-BARK-WOOF-WOOF-LOOK-AT-HIM!" Nora did her best impression of an excited chihuahua, "HE'S SO HANDSOME AND COOL HERE!!
By now, Weiss had brought up a projected image of The Rusted Knight's true face. Jaune slapped his thigh, he was shocked but mostly confused.
'Who took that and when?!' He wanted to shout.
The picture Weiss used wasn't very flattering. It showed a very frantic Jaune, with his hand on Juniper's snout. His hair looked good, and it captured his beard nicely, but he had been a total mess there.
Tumblr media
The look in his eyes did nothing to help.
That this was even happening made no sense.
Where was team SSSN when you needed time to bond with the bros over things we all understood?
"Thanks to Ruby," Weiss was still oblivious to Jaune being there, "the Visage has permanently been made immortal. And you have my eternal gratitude."
All eyes, except for Blake, turned to Ruby, who didn't look the least bit ashamed.
"My beastly bestie glowed up so good!" Ruby insisted, "Everyone deserves to know it! Look at him! LOOK AT HOW GOOD HE LOOKS!"
Blake hadn't taken her eyes off the picture; she didn't need a second telling. She was practically drooling, but interestingly, Yang wasn't very upset about that.
"Well said, I concur." Weiss nodded.
And the others murmured their agreement.
"What's he putting his hand on there?" Emerald tilted her head, "Is that a deer or like an elk, or something?"
"Oh, it's so cute." Oscar smiled,
"Look at those beautiful eyes!" Added Willow,
"That was Juniper." Explained Weiss, "The Rusted Knight's faithful jackalope."
"I WANNA RIDE THE BUNNY!" Nora shouted suddenly,
"Phrasing . . ." Ren sighed and clapped his forehead,
"As far as this creature is concerned," Put-in Winter, "head-pats and ear-scritchies are of the highest order."
"Wait, the who?" Whitely stuck his pinky in his ear and wiggled it out with a pop, "I can't have heard that right. Who's jacks-a-lot did you say-?"
"You heard me correctly, Whitely." Said Weiss, "Juniper is a jackalope, and she belonged to the Rusted Knight."
She smirked broadly.
"Whose hand is on her snout in the picture." She added.
"Wait, what?" Ren perked up,
"Our friend Jaune is, in fact," Weiss said proudly, "The Rusted Knight from the beloved children's story: The Girl Who Fell Through The World."
Everyone but Team RWBY reacted.
"No . . ." Emerald gaped, "You're lying."
"But-!" Winter looked like she might lose her mind, "But the Rusted Knight was an older man! I thought you said this Jaune was a friend of yours from Beacon?!"
"I KNEW IT! I KNEW IT!!" Nora was thrilled, her eyes sparkled like polished gemstones, "I KNEW I HAD A REASON FOR CALLING HIM FEARLESS LEADER!! AND EVERYBODY DOUBTED ME!"
"But how?" Ren was more impressed, "That story was written almost two hundred years ago."
"Wait, that story was real?" Weiss knew she had Oscar's and Ozpin's full attention now,
"Indeed," She said, "The Girl Who Fell Through The World is, as it turns out, a true story. But certain events were either written out or altered to tell a much better one for children."
The others all wanted to know more, but Weiss quickly hushed them.
"As I'm sure this picture clearly shows," She said grandly, "Jaune's beard truly was a beautiful thing. The edges were a bit crooked, and the corners were somewhat unkempt, but it was thick~ and full~."
Jaune furrowed his brow.
'Am I hearing this right?' He was sure he couldn't be.
"The strands of grey mixed in with his blonde hair," Weiss seemed lost in her own little world now, "like veins of silver lost amid a field of gold, forever twirled and twined like clouds in the early morning sky."
Still looking at the picture, the others appraised his look, like critics at an unveiling. Although, none of them could remember a time when the sky appeared gold.
"And lest I dare myself to neglect," Weiss added quickly, "the way it shaped his~ beautiful face~."
Again, the others collectively agreed.
'Wait a sec, my beautiful face?' Jaune couldn't believe it, '. . . This woman is on drugs.'
"To summarize for those of you who are lost in my explanation, because I know that's possible now." Weiss paused impressively, "Jaune's beard was a hot, sexy thing, and it deserved its own article and three-page-spread in a Reader's Wives magazine."
"Why do you know what those are?" Ren was smirking.
"By the Gods . . ." But Weiss hadn't noticed, "Just looking at it had me weak in the knees and positively dripping~! I'm so sure that if I'd taken my panties off and gagged Yang with them, I could've shut her up for once."
"Ew." Ruby grimaced.
"PFFFFFT!" Blake palmed her face and tried not to laugh,
"Dude, I dare you to try that." Yang didn't think it was funny, "I dare ya, I just dare ya!"
Whitely had clamped his hands over his ears.
"I DON'T NEED TO HEAR MY SISTER TALKING LIKE THIS!" He nearly shouted.
Winter and Willow started weeping. Though for very different reasons.
"I can't believe my sister would speak in such a manner!" She gasped and hiccupped, "It's- it's . . . It's undignified! She used to be so precious!!"
"My darling girl is growing up!" Willow dabbed her eyes with a handkerchief, "I'm so proud of you my dear!"
Klein just stared blankly and his eyes turned pink. He wasn't sure if he should laugh or cry. And when he decided to do anything, he promptly fainted.
Whitely caught him just in time, Ren and Oscar gave him a hand too, and they laid Klein down on a free bench.
"In closing," Weiss finished, putting the picture away, "I wish to say this. Fare thee well, oh glorious beard and tail! You shall be sorely missed-"
The spotlight went out, and darkness filled the room.
"Agh!" Shrieked Ruby, "I'm blind!"
Winter and Ren readied their weapons.
"Who's there?!" Demanded Weiss, "How dare you interrupt-"
"Okay, I've heard just about enough." Jaune's voice boomed from the back of the room.
The main lights turned back on.
Weiss saw Jaune and screamed for a second before calming down.
"Oh, hi Jaune!" She tried, desperate to save face, "I- um . . . How are you doing?"
"Well enough to know that I could have a three-page-spread in Dazzle." Jaune smirked.
The colour drained from Weiss's face, which Yang, Blake, and Ruby thought looked hilarious. They didn't think her skin could get any lighter.
Dazzle was a popular Health and fitness magazine, and it often showcased some of the best, most physically attractive people on Remnant.
Yang mentioned once that Weiss sometimes read them, but only when she needed . . . Inspiration.
"Oh." Weiss anxiously bit her lip, "Um, I see . . . Uhm . . . Wh- we- huhhh . . "
She took a deep breath and bit the bullet.
"How much of that . . ." She asked, "how much of that did you hear?"
Jaune was still smirking.
"I came in at around the 'Dearly beloved' bit." He answered.
Weiss's pupils dilated.
"Ah- . . . Ha . . ." Was all she could say.
Jaune's smirk became a smile.
"I'm not upset, just so you know." He told her.
"Ohhhh . . ." Weiss buried her face in her hands, "Gods, I've made such a fool of myself . . ."
"If nothing else, I just think it's funny." Jaune crossed his arms and cocked an eyebrow, "I didn't know I affected you like that."
"I thought you said you didn't think you had an affect at all!" Called Nora,
"I do now, apparently!" Jaune called back,
"Please stopppp." Weiss begged, raising her head, "Look, I'm sorry. I mean it, I am-!"
"Hey."
Jaune put his thumb on her chin, tilting her head up to look her in the eye. Weiss stopped at once.
"I forgive you." He said simply.
And for the third time since they'd met up again, Jaune have her a hug. Weiss's strength returned, and she threw her arms around him, squeezing tightly.
Everyone cooed as they watched.
"But you know," He reminded her, " I could always just grow my beard out again-"
Weiss jerked back in his arms.
"YES!" She didn't even hesitate and blushed when she realised what she'd done, "Uh- ahem! Please. Yes. Please. Please do."
Jaune wheezed and laughed.
“YOOOOOOOOOO-!!” Ruby, Yang, and Emerald laughed too, none of them could believe their ears.
"Okay, okay." Jaune recovered, silencing the crowd, "I'll grow my beard out again."
"EEEEEEEEEEE!" Weiss balled her hands into fists and jittered excitedly on the spot.
Blake was excited, too, and was bouncing in her seat with glee. Once again, Yang, surprisingly, didn't seem to mind. She just smiled.
"But if we want to do this right . . ." Now Jaune bit his lip, "I gotta ask you something."
He dropped down on one knee and took Weiss's hand in his.
Everyone gasped.
Was this happening?
"Weiss Seraphim Winona Schnee." Jaune proposed, "Will you do me the honor . . . of signing a prenup with me?"
The mood died at once. Strangely, Ren was the only one doing his very best not to laugh out loud.
"What?!" All the girls except for Weiss shouted,
"Wh-. Ah- eh- m, what." Weiss fumbled,
"There's always a catch." Winter sighed, shaking her head, "And Seraphim is my middle name!"
"Lousy blood-sucker." Muttered Willow,
"I'm surprised you know what that is." Realised Ruby.
For those who don't know, a prenup, or prenuptial is an agreement made between two people before marriage. It establishes either the husband's or wife's rights to property and support in the event of divorce or death.
Somehow, it rubbed the girls the wrong way, knowing Jaune would want one. Ruby, and Yang especially. They both knew there was no escaping death; they had lost their mother after all.
What they didn't like was the idea of planning for a separation.
Something about that felt . . . Underhanded.
"Listen, Momma raised a smart boy." Jaune liked to pretend he was, "If we really wanna do this, then I think we both deserve a little security. Don't you think?"
Now, Weiss was a practical woman, and she agreed that security was important. She pursed her lips together.
"Ahhhhugh fine," she sighed reluctantly, then thought carefully and clicked her tongue, "how about . . . Ten-thousand lien a month for you to stay by my side, that fair?"
"Well, I was thinking of- you whaaAATT??" Jaune stared at her in utter disbelief,
"What?" Weiss was surprised,
"You- you're kidding me, right?" Jaune recovered with a shake of his head, "ten-thousand?"
"What? What's wrong with that??" Weiss was very confused, "Is it not enough-"
"Weiss, are you trying to buy me or marry me?" He quickly stopped her,
"Ah-" Weiss paused,
"Ah-" Ren, Blake, and Yang paused,
"Ah-" Willow, Winter, and Whitley inhaled sharply through their teeth,
"Ooh . . ." Ruby winced, "Yeahhhh, you- you wouldn't have to pay him to do that . . ."
Weiss felt very ashamed of herself. She must have sounded a lot like her father just then. Throughout her entire speech, in fact.
Jaune's mouth morphed into a teasing smile and Weiss saw it.
"But-" She tried, "But you said-"
"I was joking," Jaune soothed her, "I don't really want a prenup. Are you THAT serious?"
By now, Weiss's face had turned incredibly pink. Any pinker, and she might pass out.
Yang leaned over to Blake.
"It's weird seeing him tease people like this." She whispered.
"Mm-hm." Blake agreed.
"Well . . ." Weiss tried again, "I . . . We've both done a lot of growing since we met at Beacon."
"Well, yeah . . ." Jaune nodded, sheepish.
"And . . . I can see now, with the benefit of foresight . . . And . . . hindsight, I suppose . . ." Weiss admitted, "that I'd be quite happy to share a future with you."
"Foresight and hindsight?" Jaune cocked an eyebrow again.
Weiss was about to speak again, but her thoughts were cut short, however, as a loud voice broke through the building tension.
"Oh, NOW you like him." Nora wasn't impressed.
Weiss jumped.
"Well?" Nora leaned in expectantly, pinching her fingers together and shaking her hand, "Speak-a da Basic! Do you like Jaune-Jaune for Jaune-Jaune, or because you know how sexy he's gonna be when he's your mom's age?"
"A-And- and what if I do?" She tried not to look embarrassed, "I'm grown up enough to admit when I'm wrong. Or- when I have been."
"Ah- excuse me," Willow raised her hand, "I'm not nearly that old."
No one argued that.
Nora put her hands on her hips and shook her head.
"Listen, Weissy, if you didn't like his goofball-hero era, then you don't deserve him as a full-blown DILF." She proclaimed, as if it were ancient wisdom, "I don't care if you don't think you're marrying him for the beard or not, ya gots ta earn the rights to it."
"Nora . . ." Jaune couldn't be angry,
"Look, I'mma be honest," Nora said, turning to him, "You know I've always thought you were hot, but if the chips were down and we didn't have Ren, I'd've totally gone out with you."
Everyone stared at Ren, who nodded.
"It was mutual." He said plainly,
". . . Seriously?" Jaune was touched,
"With or without the beard." Nora smiled, "You're still our Jaune."
Behind everyone, Oscar was just confused.
"Wait-wait-wait, I still don't get it." He scratched his head, "What does the beard have to do with it?"
He came from a certain part of Mistral where beards were considered hard on the eyes, especially if they weren't trimmed properly.
Emerald gave him a pitying look and patted his cheek like an over-concerned aunt.
"Eh, I'll tell you about it when you're older, sweetie." She promised.
Oscar blushed. He wasn't sure how to feel about being called 'sweetie' by Emerald of all people.
Jaune, meanwhile, was blushing too and had looked away.
"Daaaaammnn." He fidgeted, "You got me twirlin' my hair and-"
Jaune reached up, and remembered.
"Oh yeah . . ." He wrinkled his forehead, "The haircut."
Everyone laughed again, even Jaune. Looking out at the sea of smiling faces, from friends both old and new, he felt happy for the first time in years.
It was great to be back to his old self again.

I can't say I'm terribly surprised by (some) of the reaction to this episode.
There's a contingent of fans that one (or more) of the characters and ships.
But trying to apply a dichotomy of who is right and who is wrong really fails to get a bunch of points.
Yang, Blake, and Weiss acted according to how they were brought up and socialized. An excellent post by phoenix-fells gets at what Yang is doing. And this post by bumblebyaf gets at how much Ruby has actually been through it.
Ruby likely has some in-universe PTSD at this point because... I mean... look at what she's been through? Ruby has BEEN THROUGH IT and hasn't had much in the way of support.
As a character-building moment, I am all in for it and I was happy that she finally got to be angry and vent her frustrations. Was logical? Of course not. But it was EMOTIONAL. And she's has had to mask her true feelings or just bury them because she's the leader of Team RWBY, she's the one everyone depends on, she's a huntress, she's the one everyone must count on.
If there's any group or individuals in the series that are wrong and have failed all them, especially Ruby, it's the fucking adults. From TaiYang's emotional shutdown (as someone who lost a parent before I was a teenager and saw first hand what that'll do to one's spouse, I can sympathize and understand. Still doesn't make it right, still has a ton of negative consequences), to Ozpin making her the leader despite being 15 while Weiss, Blake, and Yang are 17, to Ironwood's general misguided evil-for-the-greater-good strategy of killing anyone/letting everyone else die to save his piece of the world, to the other older Hunters and Huntresses just treating them as equals and not realizing they might be licensed but they still some maturity and guidance and support. Ruby, sometimes, got that from Qrow. Sometimes. Most of the time, she's had no one to vent to, no one to really show vulnerability to, no time to be vulnerable (even by herself).
"But Val," you say, "she had that opportunity after the fall of Beacon and immediately formed a new team with Jaune, Ren, and Nora. She's HAD the opportunity to at least take time to herself and mope." Did she? Did she really? Or did she act exactly as what was expected of her by everyone else that was still around? Did she think she probably owed it to her now scattered and broken-up team to try to salvage something? She might have had a choice at the most basic level. But given her personality type, her own beliefs on duty, I don't think she really DID have a choice. And again, she bottled up the grief and sadness, and kept going despite the fall of beacon, the death of Pyrrha, and the first death of Penny from earlier.
Ruby is going to feel guilty and horrible about what she just did. It's going to add to her breakdown. It'll be interesting to see if the writers draw from the Volume 4 (boo-hiss, I know) episode where Yang has to work through her trauma.
Ruby's ascension is going to be the most interesting. What aspects of her will change? What kind of leader will she be going forward? Yeah, I still see this being the case, the show IS called RWBY.
But yikes on the some of the reaction. For all the criticism that Ruby has developed the least by virtue of her role in the story, it was clear that the writer's have been setting up her breakdown and growth and we're finally getting it. After all, if you want to learn, you have to suffer.

Hallelujah pt. 2
Roughly 3 months after Blake summoned Demon!Yang.
Blake: (ears twitch as hushed whispers pull her from sleep)
Shrill Voice: Do you have any idea how much danger you're in staying at a CHURCH?!
Demon!Yang: Shhhhh! Keep it down! You're going to wake up Blake.
Shrill Voice: That's another thing! Why in the Four Planes would you strike a deal with a nun?! If the counsel of this church finds out a demon, and the daughter of the devil at that, is "stealing the pure soul" of one of their devout followers, they're going to kill you. You KNOW what happens to demons if they die on holy ground!
Demon!Yang: Awww, Weissy the Icy Queen is worried about me~
Blake: (opens her eyes and blinks at the pure white being surrounded by a halo of light and white wings scowling at Yang in her demon form) .....There is an angel and a demon in my room.....
Demon!Yang: (snaps her head towards Blake) Blake! Hey! Sorry, did we wake you up? (glances at Weiss) Oh, this is Weiss. She's an angel, obviously.
Angel!Weiss: (sighs tiredly) Yes, I'm an angel, and one who questions her poor life decisions every day. (glances at Blake) I take it you're the one who made a pact with Yang?
Blake: .....I am. (notices her lack of clothes and pulls the blankets up over herself)
Angel!Weiss: Don't bother. I've seen everything already. Save your modesty for someone who cares.
Blake: Uh... noted. (looks to Yang) Why is there an angel in my room?
Demon!Yang: She's just trying to make sure I don't do anything stupid.
Angel!Weiss: (sticks her finger in Yang's face) No. I'm trying to make sure you don't do anything catastrophic. Ruby would be heartbroken if you suddenly disintegrated because you got killed in a monastery!
Demon!Yang: Thank you, Weiss! Warning heeded! (slices a portal open with her claws and pushes Angel!Weiss through) Bye, Weiss! Thanks for visiting! Give Ruby my love when you get to heaven!
Angel!Weiss: You insufferable brute- (phases through the portal)
Demon!Yang: (wipes forehead and turns to Blake) Well! I think I'm gonna go take a walk around the abbey. Toodles! (flaps wings and bolts to the window)
Blake: Stop.
Demon!Yang: (freezes just short of the window)
Blake: What did Weiss mean you would disintegrate if you died on holy ground?
Demon!Yang: (slumps and sighs heavily as she slowly descends to the floor) ....If demons die in the human world, we just go poof and wake up back in Hell. If we die in a church or on holy ground, or get killed by a high enough member of the church, we just go poof.
Blake: (arches an eyebrow) Poof?
Demon!Yang: Yup (wipes a handful of dust off the floor with her tail and blows a cloud into the air) Poof. Do not pass Go. Do not wake up in Hell. After that, no one knows what happens to them. They just disappear.
Blake: (wraps the blanket around herself and walks over to Yang) And you knew this when you accepted my summon? You still made a pact with me despite the fact that you knew you could disappear if you were found out?
Demon!Yang: Or if you decided to tell someone I was here. Kind of another reason why I was keeping that hush-hush.
Blake: Why?
Demon!Yang: Honestly, there was something about you. I don't know what it was, but I felt something in your heart and soul that made me want to help.
Blake: (hesitantly cups Yang's cheek) Thank you.
Demon!Yang: (blushes and clears her throat) Y-Your welcome.
Blake: (heart pounding in her chest, face flushes, and swallows thickly) Are you still hungry?
Demon!Yang: (blinks in confusion) N-No. I'm good. Thank you.
Blake: (takes a deep breath) I might be.
Demon!Yang: Oh! (locks eyes with Blake and swallows) I guess I'm a little peckish.
Blake: (gently kisses the corner of Yang's mouth) Take me to bed then?
Demon!Yang: (eyes widen in shock and stutters) Y-Yes, Ma'am.

WARNING: R A M B L E
AAAAA LITERARY ALLUSIONS AAAAA
I love Rwby it’s all immediately that deep with the character- like- LISTEN they take intentional simple good/bad characters fair tales which are THE simplest because it’s being told to children and then they make them complicated!!! They make them multiple things
Blake- everyone knows Blake’s everyone loves Blake’s I mean it’s wonderful beauty and the beast where she’s both of them already good already great but then!!! But then it also!!! makes a DIFFERENT CHARACTER also both beauty and the beast which also goes into their other dynamic of yin and Yang and transformation into the other and the constant switching and it makes it like symbolically Yang is a part of her it’s so good she’s the only one who’s a love story she’s defined by the people she loves it’s great
Weiss, she’s always great never disappoints she’s a knight and a princess she’s Snow White which Rwby recognizes as less of a love story and more of a story about parental abuse and overcoming it and never once is it Snow Whites fault the evil queen is acting like that she just is too pretty which Weiss is so it’s perfect for her i truly love “what if Snow White was a middle child” never stop Rwby
Then RUBY I love her she’s red riding hood and the HUNTSMAN makes the “are you a huntress” a little funnier to me cause it’s the core of her character just a little girl trying to do a sweet thing until she is TRICKED AND EATEN BY THE BAD GUY
she’s never not devoured in the story she goes to see her grandmother and they are both eaten and then saved because the huntsman cuts the wolf up it’s truly horrible she never gets saved beforehand and this I think is very well shown in volume 9 where she has to be totally destroyed by the wolf which in this specific instance was just her own grief and guilt (and the cat the cat was also wolf) and then she cut herself out of the stomach of the beast (and attacked the cat that too)
And finally in no particular order YANG my beloved she’s so great
Yangs particularly interesting because she’s the only one of them to be both the hero and the villain of the story and in Goldilocks that villain changes often the villain is the little girl for breaking into the bears house and other times it’s the bears
In some versions when they catch her the bears attempt to burn her (which doesn’t work quite right) drown her (not right either) and then finally MAIM HER BY STABBING HER WITH A CHURCH CHAPLE!??!?!?
She is also the only character in her story it’s Goldilocks and the three bears, she is the only one in this story and all the story is that she will destroy herself
And it’s so interesting that the child is the villain of the story it reminds me of when she was talking about Alice saying she was a bad person when she was just a kid trying to survive
And being the only character and her self destruction in her loneliness like when she lost her arm and no one was around and she just deteriorated
She’s destroying herself she’s so desperate to protect people she’s determined to go out saving someone Yang is a huntress who watched her entire family be destroyed by the job she went into this expecting it to kill her she went into this hoping it would kill her not Ruby

Can we happen to see more of that SilentKnight bit with them in the Ever After? I'd love to dive down into that rabbit hole and see how the rest of the cast take the new discovery that is Jaune, Neo, and...whatever the deal is with CC.
PS: Hope your day is going well and I continue to look forward to your works.
First
I've been better, but I just gotta keep trucking along. Anywho, here's part two.
------------------------------------------
"So... You and Neo, huh?" Blake said, ending an especially long silence held between the adults. Meanwhile, the children helped their mother with the chores outside, moving from laundry to preparing dinner. "How exactly did that happen?"
"It's kind of a weird story." Jaune said, scratching the back of his head. "First day I dropped in here, I aged about twenty or so years, and the week after, I'm saving a little girl and helping her get back to Remnant."
"A little girl?" Weiss thought for a moment. "You mean Alyx?"
Jaune gave a nod. The Rusted Knight, a hero of many a fairy tale, sat across from the team, with their former mortal enemy leaning onto him, the two looking like an aged married couple. To his credit, though, it was mostly the magic of this world that had done that to him. He took a drink from his tea, giving a satisfied sigh.
"Yup." He glanced past them to a figure in the doorway. "She almost died to because of a certain someone."
"I said I was sorry." The entity said with a purr. "What more could I say?"
"And you banged the Curious Cat." Yang gave a chuckle. "Guess that's out of the bag now, too, isn't it?"
"Har dee har har, Yang." Jaune said, clearly unamused. "Then I ran into Neo down here, and we just... kept fighting each other, every chance we got until..." Neo rubbed a hand over her swollen belly. "We stopped."
"So, what now?" Ruby asked.
"Well, I'm thinking we'll have dinner and then I'll take you up to the tree tomorrow morning after a good night rest."
"And then what?" Ruby asked. "Are you going to leave for Remnant with us, or are you going to stay here with... her." Neo gave a glare back at Ruby.
"I know there's a lot of tension between you two, but we should work together, don't you think?" Jaune asked, unnerved by the building tension.
"Why?" Ruby nearly barked. "Do you know how much pain she's caused us, or were you too busy thinking with your di-"
"DINNER~!" The girls called with glee.
"Well, I think we should all eat." Jaune stood up, turning to help his wife to her feet. He then looked to his guests with a smile on his face. "We'd be delighted for you to join us." His smile fell a little as he looked at Ruby directly. "And we can talk about this later."

Watching Justice League X RWBY (both parts) is such an amazing experience because you can't help but burst out laughing at seeing how incredibly insecure RT is about having RWBY stand next to DC characters.
They want to be acknowledged as DC's equal so bad, it's hilarious.
The DC characters are constantly made into jokes or just flat-out incompetent, just so a RWBY character can swoop in at the last second to save them or give them a heroic speech. No DC character can ever have anything cool for themselves, it needs to be undermined or undercut by someone from Remnant. Diana and Bruce have to lose to Blake and Weiss respectively because we need to establish how superior Team RWBY is in combat to these actual adults who have been wiping the floor with supervillains before Blake and Weiss were even a thing. Clark has to be put in his place by Ruby and Yang and isn't allowed to be leader because what else were we gonna do here? Acknowledge that Ruby's own leadership skills are severely lacking and have her learn from a fellow symbol of hope? Pfft, naah.
The RWBY characters have an almost pathological need to make fun of the DC heroes' aliases and no one points out the inherent hypocrisy there for Reasons. Like, how are you gonna make fun of names like "Batman" and "Superman" when y'all's team names are just edgy alphabet soup??? And your given names are shit like Raven Blessed Raven, White Snow or Sunshine Dragon (in languages from countries that don't even exist in your world)????
And the bootlicking, holy shit, the constant bootlicking.
Bruce is so completely fucking awed by the mere existence of Weiss and Yang he actually thinks about abandoning Gotham for Remnant, because that's not completely nonsensical and out of character at all. Diana is suddenly a callous jerk who dismisses the other Leaguers for not being "warriors" and connects more to Team RWBY because they, like her, are "warriors" (Diana, did the matrix glitch your brain and make you forget the literal fucking years the Justice League have fought by your side???). Vic is super into Nora because we needed to have a dick-measuring contest between him and Ren for Reasons. Clark needs to take a backseat to Ruby as leader because if anyone but Ruby "Power of the Special" Rose got to lead the group, RWBY stans would probably suffer an aneurysm. Oh and Jessica has insecurity issues and has to be given a peptalk from fucking Jaune of all characters!! (Oh, and she's also been white-washed because RT gotta do an RT.)
When someone from the DC universe does something cool? They immediately get upstaged or humiliated for daring to be characters in a RWBY world.
When someone from Remnant does something even mildly impressive? Non-stop praise, tongue-lashing and kowtowing from the DC characters.
And if you think this situation gets reversed in part 2, where the RWBY characters go to the DC universe, turning them into the fishes out of water?
You get to eat shit.
Because the premise to both parts is basically, "The Justice League cannot handle whatever messed up shit the bad guys are throwing at them and so they seek help from the amazing, strong, powerful, superior, magnificient, lauded, divine Team RWBY".
Part 1? Justice League gets trapped in the matrix with Team RWBY and since the simulation is of Remnant, the JL has to defer to the Remnant characters
Part 2? Grimm show up on the DC Earth and despite being back to full power the Justice League still can't handle them, so they call in Team RWBY.
Yeah.
The point of a crossover like this is to show the strength of both casts and how well they play off of each other.
But RT is so fucking insecure over Team RWBY standing next to actual heroes they couldn't help themselves.
It would be funny if it weren't so sad.
