For Song Ghost, I propose I see fire by Ed Sheeran. Change the wording a little bit and it could be either about the Burning of Galahd (and sang in duet with Axis, maybe) or about the Fall of Solheim (Ardyn's mother taught him that one and she has learned from her own grandma.)
Oh 100% I love that song. It could be so easily tweaked to so much but CONSIDER.
It's not either of those.
Consider in SongGhost Nox is composer, and the song is secretly about the *Fall of Insomnia*.

Sola/Nox Fusion IV
@secret-engima because meeting Uncle Ardyn has encouraged Sola to be the Trolliest Troll to ever Troll (and Tredd and Nyx are not helping)-
-After the first couple times Ardyn and Nox get Lost in the Hall of Arts (which is what Sola takes to calling it when they get Lost inside their own heads, because it’s honestly the least distressing name she can think of for when they go Quiet) Sola takes up weaving tapestries again. She starts off small. Three by four foot tapestries of landscapes from the photos Nox gives her, each one taking about five weeks to finish. She completes four by the time Sola and Nox celebrate their sixteenth birthday and officially enlist in the Kingsglaive.
-All four go into the Hall of Arts the day after Sola presents them to Nox on their birthday. Privately, with no one but family and friends to see them and know that Sola was the one to make them.
-Even their addition to the Hall of Arts is a quiet affair. So quiet, in fact, that the tour guides are only given an updated tour spiel that says the four tapestries were commissioned by the royal family and that the artist wishes to remain anonymous.
-The tapestries don’t go viral until - at Axis’ suggestion because he knows no few Lazarus weavers would love to see the work in progress - Sola creates a social media account and posts the time-lapse videos of her weaving each tapestry. Herself and her surroundings carefully censored/disguised for privacy. With the music she listened to playing as background music.
-Specifically, the music she recorded of Nox and Uncle Ardyn singing. Because she can’t carry a tune to save her life and they have really soothing voices that she can listen to on repeat for literal hundreds of hours.
-At first everyone thinks the weaver (SunshineWeaver @theabysswantschicken) ripped the audio from previous SongGhost/SongCryptid videos. Until the third video, which features a new song, prompting fans to go back and compare the previous audio side by side with the original videos of SongGhost and SongCryptid.
-They realize that the previous audio is NOT a match to the original videos. They realize that SunshineWeaver has MULTIPLE RECORDINGS of SongGhost and SongCryptid.
-Sola knows EXACTLY what she’s doing when she replies to their frantic queries, simply stating that SongGhost and SongCryptid are her neighbors, but they aren’t fans of cameras. :)
-Sola knows EXACTLY what she’s doing when she refuses to say anything further.
-And the corner of the Mooglenet dedicated to SongGhost and SongCryptid EXPLODES.

for SongGhost, consider Lullaby Of The Moon by David Vitas Ft. Elsie Lovelock. imo, it would suit Ardyn very well, especially a fem!Ardyn.
Oh, I've heard that one! It would suit Ardyn or Fem!Ardyn very well yeah.

Pls imagine, non-Axis people trying to get Nox to tell them who was singing with him/thinking it was Porrima. And then, post Female Reveal: insert Shrek “Hold the Phone” gif. (Think of the irony of a taur verse where someone sings Maluka’s version of Dragonborn Comes. Think of the Mooglenet going insane over it. And then, Ardyn and Nox are revealed to the public. It could be the first SongGhost/Cryptid to hit the net, because they both do Irony real well.)
XDD That’s hilarious. Everyone is just- losing their mind.
Also I love this mental image of one of them singing that song, that is HILARIOUS. And totally something Nox and Ardyn would do to mess with people. XDDD

moar Song Ghost Nox? if can plz?
hgfdfgh I HAVEN’T WORKED ON THAT IN FOREVER I’M SORRY?
But I think I can still give you a snippet hang on:
It started with Jeanne Labreigh, a young Hunter who’d only just earned her first badge after stumbling into Lestallum with her Hunt poster and proof of the kill just before night fell. She shuffled her way back through the evening streets, intent on booking a decent hotel room for once using her new pay, and was pleased when she even got a room with a window —a treat after weeks bouncing from caravan to caravan—. Showering away the grime of the day and stretched out on the bed with the window open to let the cool air in, Jeanne was idly chatting on Kwetter with her fellow teenage Hunters when she finally became aware of it. The music.
She paused, tilted her head toward the window and wondered if there was a guitarist in the square. It was a bit late for someone to be out trying to make some gil, but not impossible. She didn’t recognize the song though, and it didn’t have Lestallum’s style. But now that she was listening, really listening rather than passively tuning it out, she could hear- singing. It was way too close to be from the square below, but soft, like the singer didn’t want to wake anyone up. And oh, oh the voice…
“- are calling,”
“From across this distant shore.”
A pause, a half a breath that gave her just enough time to scramble out of her bed and lean out her open window. Then the guitar chords hit their stride and the gentle tenor echoed through the air.
“Why do you weep?”
“What are these tears upon your face?”
“Soon you will see,”
“All of your fears will pass away.”
“Safe in my arms,”
“You’re only sleeping…”
Jeanne scrambled for her phone, pulled up her video app and leaned dangerously far out of the window in an effort to catch the sound. It was nearby. It was so close and yet she couldn’t see anyone. Maybe it was someone else in the hotel, but she could only hear it out the window rather than feel it through the walls, and either way she needed to record it. The song wasn’t any she recognized, but the young voice was gorgeous and the words were giving her chills. She listened and recorded, one leg practically thrown over the windowsill as she vainly tried to find the singer before settling her camera to just point up at the sky —it sounded like it was above her, someone on the floor above or even the roof?—.
“And all will turn,”
“To silver glass.”
“A light on the water,”
“All souls pass…”
The voice hitched faintly and Jeanne felt her breath hitch with it. Because Astrals the singer sounded so sad. This didn’t sound like the radio singers with their popular “sad” songs, mourning broken romances and lost girlfriends. This felt like someone pouring their heart out. Someone who was all alone and hated it. Jeanne felt a moment of guilt over recording the song, but didn’t stop. This was beautiful in a broken, haunting way and it needed to be recorded by someone.
“Hope fades,”
“Into the world of night.”
“Through shadows falling,”
“Out of memory and time.”
“Don’t say,”
“We have come now to the end.”
“White shores are calling,”
“You and I will meet again…”
And on the song went, heartbreaking and lonely and longing. Hopeful only in that loss would someday turn to reunion. Eventually, the last notes petered out and the relative silence of the city returned. The singer didn’t start a new song, and Jeanne thought she heard the slightest scuff of shoes on concrete that meant he was probably headed to bed.
Jeanne clambered back inside, shut her window and flopped on the bed again, her previous lethargy burned away as she reopened her Kwetter app. Completely ignoring her new messages, she frantically began to type.
(Let it be known that I can’t remember if I’ve shared this snippet before. If I have I apologize this is just about all I have on this because I’ve been working on other things lately).

1. This song is BEAUTIFUL and this version is so fragile compared to Celine Dion’s I just- I have to share
2. Picture Nox as SongGhost singing this. TBH even though the singer is male I can easily picture Fem!Nox singing this too. But mainly thinking of Nox when he’s just a young teen, JUST after he and Ardyn time-travel, considering how soft and high the voice is but like-
THIS IS SUCH A SONGGHOST NOX SONG.
Edit: Gonna put the lyrics in here just in case anyone wants ‘em:
...
What's left to say?
These prayers ain't working anymore
Every word shot down in flames
What's left to do with these broken pieces on the floor?
I'm losing my voice calling on you
'Cause I've been shaking
I've been bending backwards till I'm broke
Watching all these dreams go up in smoke
Let beauty come out of ashes
Let beauty come out of ashes
And when I pray to God all I ask is
Can beauty come out of ashes?
...
Can you use these tears to put out the fires in my soul?
'Cause I need you here, woah
'Cause I've been shaking
I've been bending backwards till I'm broke
Watching all these dreams go up in smoke
Let beauty come out of ashes
Let beauty come out of ashes
And when I pray to God all I ask is
Can beauty come out of ashes?
Can beauty come out of ashes?

Okay but like everyone picture the SongGhost but IN THE TAUR-VERSE and so the Lullaby of Woe scene sounds like THIS:
youtube
Just- *evil laughter*. Two dragontaurs prowling through the night, paws silent on the ground, only the barest flicker of blue or red scale in the shadow, so quick if you blink you miss it entirely while daemons die screaming. And the voices just keep singing, the song just keeps building-building-building, growing wilder and eerier, more and more deadly until the tension is so thick if could smother and then-. They’re gone. With just a laugh and a “good night” and the smoking remains of a daemon to tell they were ever there in the first place.
And since NO ONE ACTUALLY SEES ARDYN in the scene, her cover as “male” would still be intact and people would be freaking out over a fem SongCryptid and even Titus would have no idea that the second singer was Ardyn, because he’s never heard her voice that soft and eerie and feminine before for all its low enough to be her.
And Axis- Axis had no idea Nox’s voice could go that LOW and deadly and fae. It makes his tail puff just listening to the recording.

Snippet of Nox verse Drabble
(I have no impulse control so HERE. @ean-sovukau this is what I was talking about. Also tagging @hamelin-born @wolfsrainrules and @sparklecryptid and @rayearthdudette.Btw sparklecryptid I hold you partly responsible for this because your Jean HCs got in my brain and helped enable this bunny.)
...
One day a user with too much skill in hacking and not enough in discretion posted a video taken from the Niflheim side of the internet, of which Lucian users could rarely access because of Imperial policies, and the SongGhost tag exploded into viral fame.
A shaky video, taken in what was clearly the middle of the night from a Haven. Made by several frantically whispering Niflheim mecha pilots in their uniforms, their mecha units dormant by the side of the Haven, all hushing each other as a voice echoed from everywhere and nowhere. A familiar sound to the steadily increasing fans of the SongGhost, but also not, because none of SongGhost’s recordings were in the middle of the night save for when he was overheard in a town, and tone of the song felt … off.
“Wolves asleep amidst the trees…”
“Bats all a swayin’ in the trees…”
“But one soul lies anxious,”
“Wide awake.”
“Fearing all manner of ghouls, hags, and wraiths.”
SongGhost’s voice, but from everywhere and nowhere, eerie and angry in a way the other songs had never been. There were no guitar chords accompanying this song, which only made it more eerie as the voice drifted slowly past the Haven on which the military men stood. Two daemon Bombs, bobbing about some fifteen yards off, suddenly snuffed out with loud slithering sounds of steel. Somewhere off in the distance a daemon shrieked and went abruptly silent. Then-, another voice. Deeper, colder, crueler, lilting and deceptively soft despite but edge of bloodlust it conveyed.
“For your dolly polly,”
“Sleep has flown.”
“Don’t dare let her tremble alone,”
“For the witcher, heartless, cold,”
“Paid in coin of gold.”
“He’s comes, he’ll go, leave naught behind,”
“But heartache and woe.”
“Deep, deep woe.”
A pause like a breath, then SongGhost and the new voice twined together through the trees as somewhere closer by another daemon screamed in pain. Verse by verse and scream by scream the two singing voices crept closer to the Haven and the shaking pilots filming it still, two with their guns raised uneasily toward the darkness. Then, right by the Haven, just where the shadows were too thick to see and the mens’ flashlights wouldn’t reach-.
“My dear dolly Polly, shut your eyes,”
“Lie still, lie silent, utter no cries,”
“For the Witcher, brave and bold,”
“Paid in coin of gold.”
“He’ll chop and slice you,”
“Cut and dice you,”
A flash of steel and a gurgling, horrid noise as a daemon suddenly crashed out of the shadows and landed on the Haven in two halves. The pilots all screamed and several fired at the already dissolving monster as it thrashed and gurgled on the blessed stones. A heart stopping pause followed as the camera focused on where the daemon had dissolved, then, off in the dark, there was laughter and SongGhost’s voice finished the song by himself.
“Eat you up whole.”
“Eat. You. Whole.”
As the camera swung hurriedly back up to the darkness, SongGhost’s voice called out a darkly cheery, “Have a good night, gentlemen. Don’t let the daemons bite.”
Somehow, from the opposite side of the Haven and far too close for the comfort of the men recording, the second, darker voice laughed.

i Dearly Desire (at ur pleasure, of course!!) to get a glimpse at, just, random people being surprised/baffled by Nox's esoteric and absolutely buckwild knowledge base. Like obv survival stuff but u can't tell me there aren't some completely random skillsets he picket up from 2000 years of magic monster monarchs. also on that note i'm absolutely Living for songghost/cryptid nox
Hmmmm I get what you’re going for but I’m not sure what to say?? Hmmm. He does have a ton of random skillsets/knowledge tho.
He knows a lot of the stuff Ardyn knows actually, stuff like forging and animal husbandry, etc, etc and I can see the stable hands being completely flabbergasted by this second prince waltzing into their stables and training that one chocobo that’s been refusing to let a saddle near him for years and they’re like ??? HOW?
OR, it’s like- a few minutes before a Royal Event and Regis comes in to check on his sons and sees Nox sewing a hole in Noctis’s outfit shut. With MAGIC. Because Noctis accidentally tore it and there wasn’t time to call the tailors.
The Glaives discover that this boi knows how to brew about 50 different kinds of alcohol. They are Duly Impressed™. But also confused because HOW?
Nox can pole dance. He’s actually Really Freaking Good at it. Regis just about DIED the day he walked into the training room to hear the music player pumping out a dance beat that was popular maybe four centuries ago and his son pulling off fancy pole moves while Nyx just kinda sits in the corner with a melting brain because Oh No. Nox was unaware of his audience.
Do not challenge this boy to a trivia contest. Do Not. He will win using the most obscure and random factoids in the world, like traditional ingredients of certain ancient dishes or the exact dosage of poison mushroom needed to achieve hallucinations rather than lethal poisoning (Regis is Very Concerned, Nox insists that NO he has NEVER TRIED THAT it’s just a random fact he learned somewhere).
