Symbiote Black Cat will always be the best version of Black Cat we've ever gotten. This iteration of Black Cat is the peak of Felicia Hardy as a character imo. Insomniac's version of Black Cat is definitely the worst version of Felicia's character. All the best aspects that make Black Cat interesting are never used to their fullest potential. Her lying to Peter about having a kid & randomly outta knowhere being bi with a girlfriend in Paris (lmaooo you can't make up this bad fanfic trash omfg help) stuff like this really made me hate this version of the character.

Meanwhile, Web of Shadows manages to make Felicia Hardy feel like she's ripped right outta a comic book. Her relationship with Spider-Man, while never explored, unfortunately. Is ripe with interesting & fun possibilities for their potential future together. They have a history, and I really wish we knew more about it.

The whole storyline with Black Cat wanting Spider-Man back in her life as a permanent partner in love & crime is the most natural progression for her character but it adds SOOOOOOOO much to her character imo.

The first thing we learn about this Black Cat is that she was in a relationship with Spider-Man before & wants him to be with her again. She's willing to go to great lengths to make him see her in a new light & consider being with her again.

Her plan to take down Kingpin as a sign of her resolve to be good & more importantly to her, get back with Peter is such a simple but extremely effective way of showing off this version of Black Cat.

Web of Shadows will always be my all-time favorite Spider-Man game. Because their treatment of every character from Black Widow to Black Cat is 10/10 perfection. They nailed it. Especially the voice acting for Black Cat is absolutely perfect.

Spider man Web of shadows is one of the most UNDERRATED spidey games out there!!! The swinging is great and you can FIGHT BAD GUYS ON THE SIDE OF BUILDINGS!! It is awesome The upcoming spider-man 2 better those mechanics!!

I know I'm more of a DC blog, but I'll never get over how stupid Insomniac is for changing Peter Parker's face from the PS4 version to the PS5 "Remastered" version of the game.

Mainly, because it's just such an immersion breaking, badly damage controlled, absolutely braindead move and because it just hurts the game overall.

Peter Parker went from looking like a sleep-deprived, constantly down-on-his luck, battle-hardened badass with a very down-to-earth charm about him to looking like he just got outta high-school.

It just sucks...

Sure Spider-Man 2 is probably gonna fucking bang but I definitely can't believe he fucked MJ & Felicia in this universe after the face change.

It also hurts Yuri's performance because the old face model really shined in those emotional moments whereas the new one just comes off more hollow & unbelievable. Which can & probably will take you outta his incredible performance. I'm afraid this will be more noticeable in Spider-Man 2 because you'll be reminded of how emotionally devastated Peter looked in his last scene with Aunt May & remember that this new face doesn't convey that same emotional weight crushing Peter in that moment.

While I'm talking about face model changes, I HATE MJ's new face in Spider-Man 2. She looks absolutely horrendous. It can't be understated how badly Insomniac fucked up by changing something that definitely never needed to be changed.

It's made their universe far less exciting to get into because they've shown they don't really give a fuck about immersion enhancing the world you're trying to create. Peter & MJ's face changes are a prime example of this. It takes me someone who's 100% on the PS4 version of Spider-Man (2018), something I rarely do, not wanna bother checking out the PS5 version of Spider-Man 2 even though I'm hype for it.

My favorite Spider-Man game is Spider-Man: Web Of Shadows. That game, while not having the best graphics or voice acting, though I loved all the voices for every character, excluding Spider-Man. That game managed to really stick with me more than the first Insomniac Spider-Man game or Miles Morales game ever could.

Everything about it. the atmosphere was perfectly crafted, the graphics were nice for an older game, the tone was handled pretty good, and character development was surprisingly solid & the combat was absolutely PEAK.

I wanna replay it on my Wii just from typing about it in this post.
