The Sufis still whirl in a sacred dance or active meditation (mystical Islam) to connect with Allah, God, the Universe, the Source, the Creative Force, Love, Life, Fate or any other way you would prefer to call it.

Our North-Western European pagan ancestors did, too.

May pole dances are a distant reminder, but (ritual) dancing was prohibited by Charles the Great (Charlemagne), who became king of the Franks in 771 and dedicated his life to converting forcing the European tribes to Christianity.

There are still some whirling symbols left though.

Some say these whirling wheels represent the Sun. I'm not sure, and I need to contemplate more why I feel I disagree with it (I lean towards something more abstract). (I'll update when I've wrapped my thoughts around it ;) ).

And as a quick thought leap, maybe spirals are a good addition to this story, too. (Thinking out loud here, nothing final.)

Mt.Hood reflection under moon light by Liang Li Via Flickr: My July road trip to Oregon was a great one. I got to see many places that I had been longing to visit. This is the first stop where I shoot Mt.Hood reflection at Trillium Lake in Oregon. Moon was at its full phase during my visit so I took advantage of that to take this shot at night. Kinda like the mist on the lake and the star trails above.

The "darling being able to see Sunday's high-Fe social mask and avoids it" is so funny.

Because Sunday probably ends up thinking that you will be someone who he doesn't have to pretend around, he can be more free around you because you can see through him. I can even see the attraction being platonic at first before turning into something darker.

But because you can see through him, you know that there's something dangerous about him under that ethereal, beautiful appearance. There's no way you're getting yourself involved with that. Sunday simply wants someone he can be real around :')
