# 17 (your favorite line) for the Star Wars ask game!
I ended up falling asleep yesterday so excuse the lateness of the answer :D No. 17: What is your favorite line Ooof, a tough one right out the gate. There are so many good one's but as a hopeless Obikin-stan it's gotta be "I loved you" Apart from that, I do love "Rebellions are build on hope" (I think that it's? From Rogue One, I believe.) and the subsequent exchange with Leia and the Rebel: "What is that what they brought us?" "Hope."
Thank you for playing! <3

I really enjoy the stories you write so I thought I'd ask for some suggestions :)
Do you know any good fanfics in the PT/OT era that have focus on Anakin/Vader without Ahsoka as his Padawan or Leia as his daughter? Or even if these relationships are present, they are more in the background (eg. Leia's heritage is still secret or Ahsoka is still gone).
I just find it very hard to see movie Anakin with Ahsoka since he's not her skyguy. His personality gets muddled with Tcw Anakin in a lot of fanfics. As for Leia, I prefer stories where the focus is the father son relationship with Luke.
But most of regularly updated and better stories always tend to have Ahsoka and Leia featured. Do you have any recs?
Yeah, I've read a number of fanfics that focus on Anakin/Vader or on him, Padme, Obi-Wan, and/or Luke, without including much with Ahsoka or Ahsoka. :)
I haven't read that one yet, but I heard that Ahsoka is only around briefly. It focuses primarily on Anakin/Vader in a universe where the Jedi send him back to Tatooine and he ends up joining a slave revolution.
That's a duology which is, in my opinion, one of the best fanfics ever written. It focuses primarily on Anakin/Vader and Obi-Wan in a universe where all Force-sensitives (if I remember right) see a vision of the future towards the beginning of ROTS. Ahsoka is around very briefly as a cameo, but Anakin and Obi-Wan is the main focus.
This is very Vader-Luke centric, even if Leia is around a little bit in the background. Luke grows up on the streets of Tatooine, and Vader finds him when he's 15. It's a very long series, but it's definitely well worth the read.
(PS. It's not done yet. :)

28 and 29 for the SW asks! 💛
HELLO Friend! Dude I love these questions and I refuse to let this fall into the abyss of my ask box-
28. If you could stop one character from doing one thing, who would it be and why?
Theres two very specific moments that I would want to step in and be like "NOPE- NO YOU DON'T" And surprisingly, they have nothing to do with Anakin. Its really hard for me to pick between these two moments, but I'd be very curious to know what would happen if they didn't happen.
The first is from the Phantom Menace when Padme is making her plea to the senate and Senator Palpatine is telling her to make call for a vote of no confidence in Chancellor Valorum. I know theres a lot of talk about Anakin being groomed by Palpatine, but Padme was too. Padme learned a lot from him, and looked up to him as well. Getting her to call that vote is what led to him being elected Chancellor- he had absolutely no intention of letting her go fight a war. He was going start the civil war of the republic right then and there. He planted the seeds. The only reason Naboo wasn't the first causality of the war was because Padme is stubborn as hell and the tactics he tried to use to manipulate her just pushed her further toward compassion. So I just wonder, if she hadn't called for Vallorum to be replaced, and instead just went straight back home to fight her war how that might have derailed some of Palpatine's plans for a while. Clearly the war didn't start when he wanted it to, and had to wait ten more years- hell that might be why he started using the clones in the first place because so long as the jedi were protecting meddling children/senators it would be more difficult to start a war.
The second moment is in Attack of the Clones when Jar Jar moves to grant Palpatine emergency powers. I say this because unless I like brain farted some of the info- while the clones were made for the republic they were "commissioned by the jedi" so if Yoda really wanted to- could have taken a few ships gone in saved the folks in the arena and yoinked off planet. Right? Then like showed up at Palpatine's door step like "Huge ass army Separatist have-" and then it would go before the senate what to do about the clones and if they should really be their standing army or an investigation committee would be made to like figure out where they fuck they came from since this is all new to the jedi too- But like if Palpatine didn't have the power to bypass all of that I feel like starting the clone wars would have been a lot more difficult. Like I could be wrong and the only thing that would happen is that all the jedi + Padme die in the arena but like? I don't think so.
So yeah, my big "Bruh don't do it" moments have absolutely nothing to do with Anakin and everything to do with the political side of things in star wars and wondering if the politics in itself would be enough to ruin Palpatine's plans. Like just imagine he had this whole elaborate plan with back up after back up, but just as he's about to put it in action, he's finishing his final term, but if he has emergency powers then he can stay in office longer- oops no one moved to grant them, now his seat is taken by Bail Organa. Clone wars? What was that? I only know that time Bail purged all the corporate entities from the senate and thus prevented the separatist crisis from getting worse
I know its all supposed to be a a commentary about giving into personal emotions and politics and stuff but could you imagine?
That went on so much longer than it was supposed to I'm so sorry ;-;
29. Which character doesn't get enough credit or screentime?
Bail Organa purely for the reasons I described above. We get a lot of Padme bumping heads with other senators and going to Palapatine for help- and I know we get-
wait
I'm actually going to take a moment and like hate myself for saying this, BUT I think the potential this character had would have been really interesting. I think if he had been used as more than just a prop to make more Jedi/Politician ships and you know we actually got hear more from them and like minded people it would have been great! Its actually why I write Sas the way I have plotted so far
Like I can't believe I'm saying this about this weird stale piece of bread dude, but Lux Bontari- really Mina Bontari. I think Lux was a little too young still, but I think about Mina Bontari A LOT.
The Bontari's are the key to understanding why Dooku and the others have actual planets backing them, if we would have had more actual good time with them, we could have seen how they view some of the war crimes their generals commit are viewed. Like you can't tell me Mina agreed with the way Ryloth was handled, you can't. If she's friends with Padme, I HIGHLY doubt Mina would have liked the idea of using Twi'leks as shields to keep out republic troops. We could have had really interesting stories with them, or really just characters that aren't concerned with "preserving the republic" would have been nice. Something that shows just how freaking far Palpatine's manipulation actually goes you know?
but like if you want me to say a character that should just have more screen time in general? Hera. I love her, I love that she's not a force sensative character but she's doing the MOST. Or if I were being petty based off our conversation the other day lol- Boba Fett. Man deserved to be the star of his own show
And again I went on for too long, but if anyone else would like to do these questions themselves here's the full list!

For the Star Wars ask game:
4. Favourite character from the original trilogy? -- 15. Have you played any Star Wars video games? -- 24. Would you want to be humanoid, or from another species? -- 32. Who would you cosplay as?
4) Honestly, Luke probably is. I love seeing him go from this whiny little farm boy, to the guy that walks into Jabba's palace completely unarmed, yet still with all the confidence in the world!
15) I'm pretty sure the list of Star Wars games that I haven't played would be a lot shorter 😜.
24) Hmmm, interesting question 🤔. Assuming that I could revert back to a human, I would love to try on a different species 😄.
32) Ooohhh, probably Darth Bane, cause I love him, but I never play the bad guy 😅. I'd even go full bore and shave my head 😜.

For reference 🙂
Thanks for asking!!!

question about the father-son exchange (which is an extremely cute idea btw :D ), is EU canon allowed?
Sure! If you want to write something from the EU, you can. :)

star wars asks: 21, 34, and 40!
21. Which Heroine is your favorite:
That's a tough one because there are 3 that I really love, Ahsoka, Leia and Hera. But I think I've got to go with Ahsoka. Her relationship with Anakin and then with Rex, they were so moving.
34. Which trilogy is the best?
My knee jerk reaction is the middle one Star Wars: A New Hope, Empire Strikes back, but then I come up against Return of the Nehi... I mean Jedi which I did not love apart from the absolutely fabulous moment where Luke says: "I'll never turn to the dark side. You've failed, Your Highness. I am a Jedi, like my father before me."
Tumblr media
And of course I love the moment in Empire when Yoda tells Luke "Do or do not, there is no try." That was the moment in that darkened movie theater when I realized I was going to try to follow my dream and become a writer instead of a deeply unhappy attorney.
Tumblr media
So, yeah upon reflection -- it's the original trilogy. (I do not speak of the sequels, they are apocrypha. Some lovely actors, but no consideration of the narrative or a coherent theme at all.)
40. If you could make your own Star Wars trilogy/series, what would it be about?
I love Agent Kallus so much because he has such an interesting character arc, and he's a character who could be used to show us life on planets that aren't all desert worlds that look like they are stuck in the 12th century. I'd love to see what makes a person embrace autocracy and fascism and what was in their background that gave them the courage to turn away.

Hello Claire! I was wondering if I could ask about a bit of one of your pieces. In the Mos Eisley Morning piece, there's a bit of writing on the right-hand side (above the astromech). May I ask what it says? Thanks!
it says "KARK JABA" or the equivalent of "FUCK JABBA" in Huttese—Disney made me take it out for the final, unfortunately. 😅

how do you come up with such good sith names for all your sith lmao
I normally pick a word that I want their name to mean, which is based off their personality and what they're like in the fic in question, and then I translate to another language, usually Latin (or sometimes something totally random). Lol.
Thanks for the ask! :)

12 about atla and 22 about star wars for the choose violence asks? or both for both if you like :D
Thank you so much for the ask! I'm gonna do both for both lol
12. the unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them
Avatar the Last Airbender
I'm nost sure there are any unpopular atla characters? So Avatar the Last Airbender is one of those shows that I really enjoy the show, but I haven't engaged with a whole lot of the fandom to know what all the discorse is outside of Zutara vs. Kataang (I prefer Kataang btw) I think if anything there are characters that don't get talked about a whole lot that I really enjoy, like Tao and his father are an interesting in that like to spin them around on their little blorbo stage while I think about Hakoda and his relationship with his kids. I feel like theres a lot to unpack there in how both families lost their mothers (there are a lot of absent moms in avatar aren't there) and precautions their fathers took in response to that. But now I'm thinking about the absent mothers and thats not what I'm supposed to be talking about-
Star Wars
Reva. Like I LOVE her arc in the Kenobi series. The set up for her story was so clear from the beginning and I love the character foil she sets up for Obi-Wan. Where he lets his grief consume him, to the point he turns away other jedi who need help, she turned to her anger, hunting down jedi in order to get close to Vader before trying to take revenge. By all rights she should be angry and she has every right to be, but she let it consume her and twist her until she became the very monster she wanted revenge on. I am interested to see if she pops up in any other rebellion era star wars stories. I would absolutely love to see her work through the pain of letting go of her anger. I think it would be incredibly interesting to have a very brief story about the Path and helping to hide the force sensisitive children, and having the lead characters be Quinlan Vos, Reva, and Barriss Offee. All three of those characters have had a brush with the dark side or been steeped in it at some point or another, and I think theres room for a powerful story in their recovery, and then facing difficult choices because of the war. Between Reva and Kallus, they are the only two star wars antagonist who have to potential to have true redemption arcs. Kallus has a good one in my opinion, but it could be stronger, and I hope to see Reva again in some future projects so she can have that strong narrative.
22. your favorite part of canon that everyone else ignores
Avatar the last airbender
I wouldn't say its ignored, I've definitely seen a few people talk about it, but I do think it gets looked over often, and its that Iroh only has a change of heart about Fire Nation Imperialism AFTER his son dies. I wouldn't say its my favorite part of canon, but I do think its an interesting note by the creators. Its hard to imagine that Iroh whole heartedly bought into Fire Nation Imperialism, but when you think about the letter he rights talking about the siege of Ba Sing Sae its very chilling. Like, no one who doesn't fully believe in the ideals their fighting for, fights the way Iroh did- granted that letter that gives us a hint about whats happening, is being read and Zuko is imagining it, but still. Its a story that I understand why its not explored as part of a kid's show, but I do think it would be interesting to see if Iroh was playing things up for his family back in the Fire Nation, or if there was something more in his relationship with his son that fed into his rejection of Fire Nation Imperialism. Part of me wants to imagine that Iroh took a solo trip around the world to see the connections that his son was seeing and was coming to the conclusion that they were in the wrong, (like Zuko was starting to see in his solo episode) something would have happened that led to his death and thus Iroh abandoning the siege. Somewhere along the way is when he meets the other white lotus members. However, he is a brilliant tactician and I wouldn't doubt he was studying the other benders and their philosophies as a war strategy, much like how we see Sokka do. Don't get me wrong I adore Iroh, he is by far one of my favorite characters, but it is chilling to think about that moment and that letter.
Star Wars
Theres parts of canon that canon ignores lol Unfortunately this is both my favorite and most hated thing. I haven't talked about it on here, nor have I shared any of the drafts regarding my OC interacting with this character despite me thinking about it like every few days. But Satine. Satine was a previous love interest for Obi-Wan during a time when he was questioning his place in the Jedi Order, and we find out all about that in Clone Wars and she's brought up in the books now, and yet the shows, both the Obi-Wan series and the Mandalorian have not brought her up. So she's canon but not canon? which is fucking hilarious to me, but not my favorite thing. I don't like her, but I would have liked her with more development, and thought. I hate her lack of development, when clearly her actions and death have an impact on Mandalorian culture for DECADES. And I hate that most of the time she's talked about by the fandom its in regards to her love story with Obi-Wan. Which I'm gonna be honest isn't a love story. So we're finally getting to my favorite thing, and its that Obi-Wan and Satine's relationship feels so incredibly aroace X nonally allo coded to me. In that every time Satine speaks to Obi-Wan, you can see that she struggles to accept only friendship from him. Theres a whole bit where she stumbles over calling him a friend, and he never struggles with it. She brings up her very romantic feelings for him using a lot of present tense phrases and verbs, when he speaks of it, its very much in the past tense, even when he talks about her to Anakin. It isn't that he doesn't love her, he does in the way someone might still get a little fluttery thinking about the first time they fell in love, but he's very clearly accepted that they have gone on different paths and grown into different people, and his love has grown into that love of a friend. Its not any less, if it was he wouldn't have gone through half the shit he did for her. Then you look at their physical interactions, she goes up and hugs him, touches his face, unprompted, a lot of his initiated contact is with her hands, thats his boundary. And I say all this, not to be like "oh this is the only way to watch it" no, those are just things I noticed because I'm ace and interactions resonated with my own experiences. I think a lot of their romantic relationship is conflated because they're meant to be a foil for Anakin and Padme, but I hate that for them? And I know this asked for my favorite thing, and it is, possibly just because there are so many little details and things that get over looked, and like I have to wonder what was the intention by the writers to portray here in their relationship? To me I see my ace experience and people constantly pushing my boundaries, when I can't give them what they want or expect, and the tragic end to a friendship. Fandom sees a tragic romance, whic again I get and I see it, but its tragic for different reasons.
I guess that last one really was for the violence cause I feel like thats a super divisive thing to say but I don't know If anyone wants to send another or do the questions them self the link is right here.

the 212th chief medical officer, bones ✨
[id: it's a drawing sheet of a 212th Clone Medic with his name, "Bones", written in all caps in the top left. From right to left: in the first drawing, he has one hand on his hip and is looking to the side with a quizzical expression. In the second, he wears his helmet in addition to the rest of his armor and holds a medical bag over one shoulder. In the next, his helmet is off again and he is looking down, looking miffed, and in the last, he is smiling. His armor is the standard phase I and has an orange rib cage painted on the chestplate. /end id]

“And how do you plan to deal with this delay, Lord Vader?”
tbh I really don’t know how to headcanon obi-wan's position in the empire if he was a sith. He would have more power over Vader (not necessarily by rank), that's for sure.
