bug of the day (march 8 2023)

The halmus chalybeus or its common name steelblue ladybird is apart of the Coccinellidae family. Steelblue ladybirds are native to Australia. It has a rounded appearance with an iridescent blue/green colour. Larva of ladybirds are actually bigger than their adult form being 6mm as a larva and 4mm as a adult.

They are predators because of this they were purposely introduced to New Zealand as a way to control harmful pests such as Citrus Red Mites who damage leafs. But this introduction hasnt been the best as there are many species who are not evolved to counter this kind of predator.

Helloo. My new post here. Design some griffin characters. I might do more in the future. I hope ya'll like it ^^ Have a nice day.

Staring from the top left to right. Then bottom left to right.

1. Prince Ego - indian peacock + lion

He has a slender body. He’s confident, elegant, suave, polite. He’s part of the royal family. Also known as The Peafowl Family (peafowl in this are royal most of them in my universe). Always try to put on a smile in public. He lives in the big palace.

2. Carcass - griffin vulture + lion

No information yet. The number of the tag is just a placeholder. I will change the number in the future.

But for now, I will tell you about the vulture tribe: vulture griffins live in colonies in the Dead Forest. Their behavior is wild and feral-like, especially when they are hungry.

3. Steelblue Ladybird - hummingbird + lion

No information yet. Will update this later. Yes, her name is based on the blue ladybug. The hummingbird griffins are smaller compare to other griffins. Not a main character.

4. Nightwatcher - great gray owl + snow leopard

She’s my new main fursona. She lives in a snowy area. She always watching 👀.

5. Jovial - scarlet macaw + lion

Judging by her name, she’s cheerful, ditzy and optimistic. That’s all for now.

6. [No name yet] - ostrich + cheetah

She’s a runner. Always get high places in races. She;s pretty much a tomboy. Energetic, prideful and speedy. The ostrich griffins are pretty tall, about 4 meters tall.

She wears fingerless gloves with a sweat towel. Of course, she only wears them while jogging, or other heavy activities. She likes having tattoos. And she is planning to get more.

If you have any name suggestions, go ahead. I do need help with names actually- I do be very picky with names though.
