He can probably get back to his game, but he wants to spend a little more time with his focus on his daughter. As they get half an hour into the movie, Millie has finally finished her snack and Drew decides he can get back to his game. “Can Daddy play his game over here, Baby?” Drew seeks her approval, pointing to the monitor that shows Austin and JD’s gameplay. The little girl nods, snuggling into her father’s hold with her eyes still on the screen. Drew picks up his game controller again and calls out to his friends to restart the game so he can join them. He ignores the teasing of his friends about how he is such a sucker for his daughter, calling them bad names under his breath with his hands pressed over the toddler’s ears.

Y/N walks into the office to find Millie asleep on Drew’s chest and the end credits of Tangled rolling on the screen in front of her. Her eyes land on Drew, who is focused on playing whatever shooter game is on the other computer screen. She wants to speak up to draw his attention but pauses. Her hand rests against her baby bump and she leans against the door frame. Y/N has to savour the moment before their little girl is all grown up and doesn’t need them anymore.

outside preening and train displays for breeding season do peafowl show affection and bond with each other in any ways unique to them? do they ever engage in play or other activities?

They actually don't do a lot of preening each other, most of it is preening themselves in the same location. They inspect each others faces, and parasite pick (or sometimes pick loose feathers), but they don't do allopreening like parrots or some other birds do.

They don't have a lot of bonding activities, beyond just... hanging out. They loaf together, they walk around together, they talk to each other. Hens, even when they don't have babies, will sometimes pick up a "treat" and do the "good treat!!!!" call while holding it near the ground, until one of the other hens comes to get it.

The coolest thing they do for bonding is what I call playing chase. They have a stance where their chest comes down, butt comes up (but not "display" up, just raised), and their wings fold out slightly. It looks remarkably like a dog slapping their paws down into "play with me" stance, and it's much the same message- "Let's play!" They will hop/flutter in this stance, and then go bouncing and hopping around, and anyone nearby may join in chasing them or being chased. This tends to happen more when they're young, before sexual maturity, but the older hens do it when they have a close friend or two. I still see Eris and Artemis and Stella and Aris and Arcana, and OCCASIONALLY Stan doing it, just not as often/readily as the babies will do it (they do it almost every morning when I let them out of the coops and they are overcome with excitement about it).

I got a quick free-range game of it on film once!

That's Corona up front... she never plays. She's the most Serious bird I own. But you can see how they are bouncing and have their wings out and loose, and their brother comes RACING over to join them, and they both bounce up really high and dramatically when they see him, but they aren't flying away, they're circling around to him.

And here's the difference in another gif- when Stella's sister (right side, brown lady) comes running over, Stella thinks she's instigating play, so she starts bouncing and running to her brother, but he doesn't want to play right now, so he doesn't engage.

I have a few videos somewhere of my hand-raised babies playing chase with me. I want to get more videos of the outdoors ones playing, but it's so random and I don't have time to get my camera out, so it's like... if they do it while I already have my camera out and running in video. But it's my favorite thing they do, they look so silly.

They also will pick up and drop/throw around shed feathers, but I'm not sure if that's "play" behavior so much as "food testing" behavior. But, Beep had a bunch of cat toys, some of which she probably COULD have eaten (like her bluejay), but she would just pick them up and shake them/throw them, which is much the same as they do with feathers or small sticks.

Again, I don't know that I would classify it as play, and it may not be unique to them, but it is an interesting activity.

Last one I can think of off the top of my head is climbing things. They love jumping up and around on things. Games of chase that can include Being High Up are the best games. Corona, as serious as she is, still gets very happy to jump up and down on stuff. I think if I installed a fowl swing in her enclosure, she'd use it.

I'm sure there are others neat behaviors, but those are the first few I thought of.

💜Sampo headcanons

Sooo... I wanted to try to wright something about characters i love so i decided to do 2 in 1 - art plus headcanons fot it

~Ordinary day in Belobog~

It's just some fluff silly headcanons. Hope you'll love it!

💜 Sampo's morning always starts not with coffee, not with social media, but with checking turnip prices in Animal Crossing.

Seriously. He doesn't worry that much about his own budget, how he keeps an eye on his bank account in the game. Sampo knows the prices for EVERYTHING: bugs, fish, fossils, fruits, etc. He sells it with incredible efficiency, but doesn't pay a single penny to Tom Nook (the merchant simply hates this raccoon, but respects him for how skillfully he can push another loan or charge money for some service).

💜 After finishing all the virtual "megaimportantyoudon’trunderstand" tasks, Sampo puts on his cozy bathrobe, slippers with Hannah Montana (even aeons don't know where he managed to dig up merchandise originally for kids of such size. His foot isn’t small after all...) and goes to bathroom. After fixing his hair, brushing his teeth, and applying a super shiny fancy mask, the merchant goes to the kitchen.

💜 Surprisingly, Sampo cooks well. Especially simple dishes.

💜 During breakfast, he always watches something. Most often it's TV series. God, I'm 100% sure that Sampo loves shows about the double life of pop stars (especially the mentioned above Montana). Romantic melodramas, cosplay videos, game reviews - that's his thing too.

💜 What he can't stand, though, is true crime videos and all sorts of creepypastas. He's really hates all that descriptions of bloody scenes, violence, and worse - rape. Sampo can't even sleep at night after that. Not that he's scared, but he feels bad inside.

💜 Later in the day, between tasks, the merchant likes to sit in some secluded spot in the upper part of Belobog and look around. It's his kind of meditation. Watching the peaceful, monotonous flow of life around him, Sampo gets distracted from his problems.

💜 People walk back and forth in the streets, clouds float in the sky, and a cool breeze blows on his face - that means everything is good, the world hasn't collapsed yet, everything can be fixed. Everything will be fine.

💜 Sampo gets especially cheered up when he sees familiar faces in the crowd. For some reason, I think he really appreciates the crew of the Star Express. And every time he sees Stella/Kelus, March 7, Dan Han, or familiar faces from Belobog, he brightens up. (well, only if it's not Gepard, coming to arrest his poor ass).

💜 At the end of the day, after playing hide-and-seek with Gepard and a couple of other guards, arguing with stubborn clients, and a bunch of other not-so-pleasant work, Sampo comes home completely exhausted. But he remembers the unsold scorpions in Crossing, the episode he missed in the morning, and drags himself first to the bathroom, and then to bed. There's a whole night ahead. Which means there's still time to goof around and dedicate time to little silliness and joys. He can still borrow energy from the next day anyway...

why not satisfy one of their sponsor while at it? Get these boys each a McLaren LEGO set and do a competition of who can assemble it the fastest, bits of chatting here and there and boom! Nice long chill video c:

we’ve seen how competitive Lando and Oscar can be in the inverted goggles video, so maybe it could be fun to bring this kind of energy back? Stick ‘em on a paddle court and let’s have a lil showdown! Now of course it’d be nice to get the Williams vs McLaren match, but interteam content does tend to be rare so I wouldn’t put my money on it

maybe it’s time to change it up a little, we’ve seen them a lot in competitive contexts. Why not some cooperative challenge this time? Seeing them struggle in an escape room would be hilarious, and it’d show a nice united front to the public

now, now, the boys are racing drivers. Some track actions is always nice, so I propose a karting video. Another one, don’t look at me like that I just love these

playing with food is a staple of video challenges, and with mister Oscar Pastry on your team it’d be a shame to not capitalize on this play on words. Baking contest, no instructions, whoever makes the worst concoction has to taste his mess (plus possible affiliation with their Optimum Nutrition sponsor c;)

SUMMER. GAMES. That video was fire, stamp of approval, keep going sweetie. Tweak the games so that it isn’t a repeat and we’re onto a winner here

for a team with an history as rich as McLaren they haven’t been quizzing their drivers much on their f1 knowledge… even outside of McLaren. Chill bla bla video of their favourite moments of the sport, wins, overtakes, radios?

they’ve been getting a lot of friendship bracelets on stage recently, so why not capitalize on this fan interaction and let ‘em make some to distribute to the fans at the next race?

uno with Stella, Brown, whoever. I want to see them being the little menaces that they are, terrorize the McLaren team, stick up a +4 in each other’s face, unleash the sassiness :o

’look at you’ ‘look at you’ ‘look at us’ alright then. You wanna fawn over each other? Then with their partnerships with clothing brands surely the pr team could find a way of letting them choose silly outfits for each other, little modeling session, um?

Spy x Family Operation Diary - mini-games

As mentioned in my previous post about the Operation Diary game, I'm making a second post discussing the many fun and varied mini-games that you can play!

There's seventeen total mini-games, with the first four being available right from the start, and the rest as you progress. Each mini-game has three courses that increase in difficulty. You start with the Peanuts course, and after you've paid Inspiration Points to play the game in that course three times, you'll unlock the Penguin course, and then finally the Chimera course.

Since I can't embed more than one video per post, I instead uploaded short videos of ten of the seventeen mini-games to YouTube so you can watch them via the links below (as for the remaining seven mini-games, I may upload videos of them to YouTube eventually but I'm not gonna make another post. You can follow the playlist I made here for any new Operation Diary uploads). All the videos are about 30 seconds each since that's all that the Switch allows.

Yor's Cooking

Vegetables fall from the top of the screen and you have to make Yor cut them before they fall below the blue cut line. If you cut them right as the vegetable is centered on the line, you'll get more points! After enough successful cuts, Yor's "serious mode" meter is filled and you're temporarily able to slow time so you can cut more easily. In the later courses, dog food boxes will also fall and you have to avoid cutting those.

Eden Dodgeball

You play as Anya, Becky, and Damian (you can swap between them) in a dodgeball match against Bill and two other kids. You have to hit each of your three opponents enough times to get them out of the game (deplete their health bar) while also avoiding getting hit yourself. You can dodge and jump to avoid being hit and can also catch a ball thrown at you if you press the button at the right time. Bill has the most health out of the three and throws very fast. Becky and Damian can throw super shots when their meter is filled while Anya is able to use her mind-reading to successfully dodge hits up to three times.

Loid's Escape

This is a stealth game where you play as Twilight on a mission to swap paintings in an art museum with fakes within a time limit. You have to make your way around the museum to swap 5 paintings while also avoiding the enemies with flashlights. If you run or walk near them, they'll hear you and may come after you. If they catch up, Twilight will take them out but you'll lose time. However, you also have a crouch walk that you can do which is slower, but the enemies can't hear you. Once you've successfully swapped all the paintings, all the enemies will come after you as you make a dash to the exit before time runs out.

Thorn Princess's Work

You play as Yor/Thorn Princess and have to take down a bunch of bad guys within a time limit before moving onto the next group. You can either do quick stabs with her stillettos or kick them. The former is more efficient, however kicking knocks them down, so that's good to use if you get surrounded. A few of the larger enemies will also attack back, but there will be visual cues so you can dodge them. If you get hit, you'll lose some time. After enough successful attacks, Yor's "big attack" meter will get filled, enabling you to do a really powerful attack that will take out a bunch of enemies at once.

Also, I have to say about the two aforementioned mini-games, I love how Anya's expression changes when you hover your cursor over Loid's game vs Yor's game...

She looks "waku waku" happy for Loid's...

...and terrified about Yor's 😂

Bond GO

Anya has a dream where she's riding on Bond collecting tons of stella! This is a fairly simple platforming game where you make Bond jump around the clouds to collect stella while also avoiding obstacles like the thunder clouds and crayon spikes. Each time you collect enough stella, you'll enter "fever mode" where Bond will grow larger and be temporarily invincible. However, each hit or fall off the screen will reduce your fever meter. You can collect Penguinman and Chimera for additional power-ups.

Anya's Fashion

This is a rhythm game where you have to correctly time your button presses to get the most points for Anya and Becky's fashion show! You also have the ability to dress up both of them before the show, though it has no bearing on your score.

Peanuts Bowling

You can play as either Anya, Yor, or Loid in a simple bowling tournament. On your turn, you first line up your shot, then you have to press the button at the right time to get a good angle and enough power for your throw. Each of the Forgers has a stat they specialize in: Anya has the most Luck, meaning she'll get more gold peanut pins to knock down for a higher score. Yor has the most Power, so her throws will likely knock down more pins on impact. And Loid has the best Curve stat, so any balls he throws at a curve will hit more accurately.

I love how the Forgers' stats in this game are so fitting!

Eden Old Maid

You play as any of the Eden kids against three of the others in a match of Old Maid! You take turns picking cards from each other and making pairs while avoiding picking the Joker. If you play as Anya, you're able to use her mind-reading ability to read your opponent's hand up to three times.

Yuri's Delicious Meal

Yuri has to eat all of the "meatballs" that Yor cooks while avoiding Loid's food. You have to press the button once for each meatball per plate (up to three) then move the L stick to the left once the plate is clean, or move the L stick to the right to pass Loid's cooking to Anya. Later rounds add an additional factor where you have to press another button to first lift the cover off the plate to see what's inside. The game is timed, and any mistake with your button presses results in a time loss. You'll also get a few "bonus" rounds where Yor will present Yuri with a giant meatball and you can spam the eat button as fast as possible for the most points!

Peanuts Tag

This is a Pac-Man type game where have to maneuver Anya through a maze, collecting peanuts while avoiding the bad guys that chase after you. If any of the bad guys touch you, you'll lose one of your three tries and be placed back at the beginning of the maze. However, there are a few macrons amongst the peanuts that, if you collect them, will make Anya grow bigger for a short time and be able to temporarily get rid of any bad guy she stomps on. Penguinman and Chimera also wander around the maze and you can collect them to get more points.

Stella ella Ola is a clapping/rythm game. Players sit or stand in a circle with their hands out to the side, putting one hand palm-up over their neighbour's. They sing the accompanying song, and on every beat, a player claps their hand onto their neighbour's, moving play around the circle. When the song ends, if the last player gets their hand clapped, they're out. If they move their hand away fast enough, the player trying to do it is out.

The song has many variations, but the submitter included the lyrics they grew up with, playing in Vancouver, CA:

Bottoms (2023) but instead of a fight club they have a gaming club — Part 1.

headcanons(?), loose plot, and shenanigans.

The club was established a long time ago by Josie, PJ, and Hazel when the school started to require every student to be a part of a club.

PJ didn't want to partake in any club as they all seem to involve physical exertion and community service so she thought they could just make up their own and they ended up with a gaming club.

They had high hopes for the club in the beginning bc who doesn't like video games?! But it turns out three nerds endorsing the club didn't seem too appealing to the many students of Rockbridge Falls High.

They used to play different types of games until they decided to exclusively play Tekken bc it's PJ's favorite and everything PJ's demanding ass wants, she gets (/pos. she's princess).

Also bc there were only three of them and Hazel always seemed to go with whatever PJ wanted.

They play local tourneys... Oh, and they never win!

They get a ten dollar budget from the school which they use to buy food after participating in a tourney.

PJ is Lili main because duh! She's gay and dramatic.

PJ's adamant that she mains Lili bc she's 'hot and sexy' but really she just thinks her outfit is pretty </3

Hazel is Asuka main mostly bc PJ is Lili main lol she also mains Lars.

PJ thinks Hazel purposefully choses Asuka to piss her off bc Hazel always beats her.

Josie is Jin main but sometimes she plays Josie just because :)

Josie draws Tekken fanart/comics.

Sometimes Josie draws Asulili fanart to piss off PJ. She gives them to Hazel who puts them up in her bedroom <3

PJ believes Josie's a show-off for being a Jin main but Josie thinks it just shows how much of a loser shut-in she is.

PJ spams single moves when she wants to piss off Josie.

And yes PJ was definitely a button masher. When they were younger Hazel beat her twelve times in a row and she got so mad that she didn't talk to Hazel for a whole day until Hazel showed her what practice mode is actually for.

She grinded so much that time that she failed a test but it was all worth it when she finally beat Hazel. It wasn't that long until Hazel was, yet again, unbeatable to PJ.

Josie is defo the best out of all of them, she's naturally great at remembering combos.

Josie and Hazel loves discoursing/theorizing about the plot and characters with each other.

Hazel makes them club shirts every year bc she's the rich one.

Hazel loves experimenting with/building fightsticks.

Hazel likes to write down combos she find on YouTube and she shares it with the club when they meet.

Hazel also takes notes about what everyone needs to improve during their sessions. Josie takes notes when it's her turn.

And PJ thinks it's stupid, "You guys don't need to do all that. Literally, no one cares about this club but us. We could be not doing any of this and no one will care,"

When they got to senior year they were given a notice by the school telling them they were gonna shut them down and m cut off their budget if they don't rack up at least ten members and gain any significant achievement for the school.

"Fuck this stupid fucking school. Why can't we be ugly, gay, and untalented in peace?! Does that mean it's one dollar for each student? Do they think my Tekken expertise costs a dollar?!"

Luckily Hazel got Sylvie and Crystal to join. Annie's also there, she doesn't play, she just sits there and complain the violence.

Sylvie is Panda/Kuma main. Crystal is King main. Annie will play Julia but only if she's playing against Sylvie.

Hazel also got Stella Rebecca to join too but only cuz she told her about the tourney prize money.

Stella started out as a Chloe main until she saw PJ playing as Alisa once and got into her bc chainsaws ^-^ !

They're still missing three members and lo and behold— Isabel and Brittany joined the club.
