The game industry layoffs are really bad, but according to testimony gathered for The Jimquisition, it's far worse than they look. It's all thanks for the nasty tactics companies employ to obscure layoffs behind other forms of job termination.

BTW if you guys like good covers of new wave, I wholeheartedly recommend listening to old compilation albums from Asia Productions. They're a California-based label that's been releasing Viet music since probably the 80's, and a ton of their albums are dedicated to covers of music from that era and sometimes earlier.
While all the songs are sung at least partially in their original language, at some point they switch over to Vietnamese and it goes SO hard. You can find a bunch of the albums ripped online on YouTube, and some are available at the Internet Archive as well

Tim Drake x Riddler Sidekick!Male Reader
Warnings: Tim doing some light stalking…
Summary: Tim finds Y/n in public a few weeks after their last confrontation…
Part 1: Being the Riddler’s criminal sidekick…
Part 2: Parachute
——
Tim’s POV
Tim was walking down the street, he had just been and hanging out with Stephanie at the mall, now Tim was calling Alfred to come pick him up. ”Yeah, i’ll wait outside the-” Tim cut himself when he saw something or rather someone.
It was Y/n L/n aka Clue, the Riddler’s sidekick walking down the street on the other side. Y/n had been missing ever since Tim had revealed to him that he and Batman had tracked down his family and found out his real name, making Y/n escape by jumping out of an airplane.
He was dressed casually in an oversized hoodie and baggy jeans, he wore headphones listening to music on a CD player. Tim then heard Alfred asking ”Master Tim, are you still there?” questioning Tim’s sudden silence.
”Sorry Alfred, i’ll call you back” he said and hung up. He watched Y/n enter a café on the other side, Tim decided to follow him, since he wasn’t in his Robin costume Y/n wouldn’t recognise him.
He walked across the street and entered the café. He stood himself behind Y/n in line as they both waited to order. Y/n then ordered black coffee and stood himself to wait for his order. Tim ordered the same thing and went and stood next to Y/n as inconspicuously as possible.
Y/n then got his order and left the café and as soon as Tim got his he went outside to see where Y/n had gone but he had disappeared. Tim sighed annoyed and called Alfred once again to pick him up.
——
That night Tim decided to patrol the same area he had seen Y/n again as Robin to see if he could spot him again. He stood on a rooftop with a pair of binoculars looking out over streets of Gotham. Then he saw him.
Y/n walked out of grocery store and on to the street with a shopping bag in hand. Tim studied Y/n as he walked down the street, he seemed conpletely normal… a bit too normal.
Was he doing grocery shopping for the Ridder, was it some kind of plot or bait to lead him or Batman in to a trap. Tim climbed over the rooftops following Y/n wherever he was going.
After walking for a couple of minutes Y/n stopped with his back to Tim who couldn’t see why he had stopped. Y/n then reached to put something in his back pocket, but it slipped out falling to the ground.
But Y/n hadn’t noticed. Tim waited until Y/n was out of sight until he went down on the empty sidewalk to see what he had dropped. It was a balled up piece of paper. Tim picked it up thinking it might contain a phone number, adress or maybe even secret plans.
Tim unfolded the paper reading it to himself.
Stop spying on me creep! - Clue
P.s: If you’re gonna spy on someone don’t wear red, yellow and green you idiot.
Tim sighed, he felt dumb.

Chapter Four: Tag! You're It!
Bruce woke up to a punch in the nose and Jason screaming. "Where am I?" Jason asked. He was slightly taller, and his eyes were dark.
Bruce jumped out of bed, his eyes watering involuntarily at the force of the blow. "Jason-."
"Where am I?" Jason screamed.
He was older. Bruce could see a difference. Dick ran into the room, and Jason backed away from them, snatching the closest thing to him to use as a weapon. "Jason, you're not in any danger," Dick explained.
Jason burst into tears. "How did I get here? I was home with my dad," Jason cried, "I want my dad. He's gonna-. How did I get here? How do you know my name?" Jason ran a hand through his hair. "I was at home with my dad, and we played-. We were playing a game." Jason gasped for air. "And then I woke up next to him! And who are you?"
Bruce held his shirt up to his nose as it bled, and Dick held up his hands. "Jason, I need you to put the picture frame down and breathe... Tell me what you were playing with your dad," Dick replied to get Jason to refocus.
Jason wouldn't put the picture frame down but took a deep breath. "My name is Jason Todd. I was playing the lock game with my dad," Jason answered, "I want my dad. I don't wanna get in anybody's car... I want my dad to come and get me. Just let me call him. I wanna call him. I promise I won't call the police or nothin'. I only want my dad." Jason started getting agitated again, and Dick kept his hands up.
"Jason, what's the lock game? Let's go downstairs and use the phone while you talk to me. No one's trying to hurt you here," Dick reassured him.
"That's a lie! My dad says everybody hurts people! You get hurt by people, and you hurt people, then you die... That's what my dad says," Jason replied.
Dick glanced at Bruce, and Jason threw the picture frame at Dick and rushed past him out of the room and down the stairs. "We've gotta go get him," Bruce whispered.
"We know where he's going, and we can beat him there if we drive," Dick replied before chuckling. "Oh, he got you good. How old do you think he is now?"
"Shut up and get in the car," Bruce sighed, rolling his eyes as he followed Dick downstairs.
"He's older, though, isn't he?" Dick asked. Bruce nodded.
Dick and Bruce got in one of the cars in the garage and drove to Jason's apartment, where they waited for him to arrive. They sat in the kitchen out of the direct line of sight of the front door. Jason crept in nearly two hours later in pajamas. They were half a size too small. He was barefoot and drenched in sweat. "Dad? Dad, I'm home," Jason called before looking around and spotting Bruce and Dick. "What do you want with me?" Jason backed away toward the door.
"Jason, how old are you?" Dick asked.
"I'll be eight in August. And if you come near me, I'll scream. I swear I will," Jason replied, "And why is everything different? Where's the phone? Where's Mommy's CDs?" Jason started hyperventilating.
"Jason, relax. This can all be explained... But you're not gonna like this explanation. We've known you since you were twelve years old," Bruce whispered.
"I'm seven, you psychopath!" Jason yelled.
"Of course, you're seven now, but a few days ago, you were twenty-four years old and just as angry as you are now," Bruce explained, raising his voice.
"I'm not angry! I'm scared! If I was angry, I would've gone for your eyes! Now get out before my dad gets here and makes you both sorry you ever followed-."
"Jason, your father isn't coming. He's gone," Bruce snapped. Jason looked around the apartment, and he sank to the ground. He sobbed into his hands.
Somehow he knew Bruce was telling the truth. The room stayed silent until Jason could collect himself. "Is my mommy-? Is she okay?" Jason asked.
Bruce frowned and shook his head. Jason clutched his stomach. "Nooooo," Jason moaned as he tried to pull himself to his feet. Dick came close and offered Jason a hand, and Jason swatted it away. "No, no, no. I can't-. She said she was getting better." Jason stood up and stumbled to the kitchen sink, where he threw up. Bruce could see the difference in Jason's grief. In only two years, Jason's whole demeanor changed. It was like Bruce was looking at a completely different child. Bruce crouched down, still covered in blood from his nose.
"Please come back with us... You can get cleaned up and rest. Jason, I'm sorry. We only wanted to help," Bruce whispered.
Jason wiped his mouth with his sleeve and looked at Bruce. "Mommy's been away at the hospital, and Dad-. Dad's been great. He got a job, and it's been him and me for a few weeks. Dad was gonna-. He promised to take me to the park," Jason mumbled. Dick opened his arms, and Jason stumbled forward into Dick's embrace.
"I'm so sorry, Jason," Dick whispered.
Jason clutched Dick's shirt. "Dad was doing better... Mommy was gonna come home soon," Jason mumbled. Dick met eyes with Bruce.
"Bruce swore he'd do whatever he could to help you," Dick whispered, "He's a good man. He raised me... And he wants to raise you too... If you'll allow it."
"Why would he want me? I'm nobody," Jason whispered as he looked up at Dick.
"Not to me... Jason, you have no idea how important you are," Bruce replied. Dick let go of Jason and let Bruce hug him.
Jason hugged back. "I'm sorry I punched you in the face," Jason apologized.
"I'm just thankful you didn't break my nose. You've got one heck of a jab," Bruce smiled. It reminded him of the first time they met. Still, he couldn't figure out why Jason managed to age two years overnight. And Bruce couldn't get that comment out of his mind. Bruce thought he knew Jason, but he didn't know him. Not one bit. He couldn't even tell the difference between fear and anger for Jason... He would've gone for his eyes... Was that what Jason was that whole time? Scared? Was he pulling his punches, hoping for a better outcome someday? Was he asking for a change in Bruce? What was Jason so afraid of?
They'd have so many things to talk about whenever Jason grew up. Suddenly, he couldn't wait for Jason to get older again.

Batfamily Secret Santa
With the holidays coming up here's my headcanon for what each of the batfamily members would get each other if they were doing a secret Santa. (And yes, I know Bruce is canonically Jewish, but I believe either Tim or Dick are some denomination of Christian so I'd imagine they have a mixed holiday celebration at the manor)
Bruce (got Stephanie)
Ok so Bruce is super generous on a good day and I can't imagine Steph wouldn't be dropping hints since Thanksgiving, so he'd probably give her everything she asked for plus a new movie Wayne manor doesn't have, so after the celebration they could watch it together as a one-on-one bonding thing since he's pretty big on quality time in some versions.
Dick (got Bruce)
Bruce really doesn't expect anything for the holidays which is perfect because I have this headcanon that Dick is actually really bad with giving gifts. Someone bullied your little sister? Not on his watch. Life advice? He'll pull from his past experiences to tell you what not to do. Emotional support? Bro he's there. But birthday/anniversary/holiday gifts? Expect a mug with Snoopy's face because you both watched Charlie Brown together once. In July. He's just that kind of gift giver. So I'm thinking Dick would get Bruce a dinosaur themed 1,000 piece puzzle because Bruce likes dinosaurs and he likes puzzles so boom! Match made in heaven, ya boi is a genius. 😎
Barbara (got Jason)
Babs is a pretty practical person so her secret Santa to Jason probably consisted of a gift bag with manly smelling body wash, a gift card to Barnes & Noble, and a CD mixtape of Jason's Spotify favorites so he can pop it into a car and listen to it during long car rides.
Duke (got Damian)
So Duke is a pretty creative person when he's passionate about a project and his ideas are definitely one of a kind, but I think for some time he would really struggle with coming up with a secret Santa for Damian because he isn't all that close with Robin. He knew Damian appreciated weapons but he's also the type of person to not want Damian to think that weapons are all he is by getting him one. Presents for Damian's pets are off the table since Damian spoils them on every day of the year, so Duke would probably gift Damian something for the child he is, since Damian never had a childhood. Maybe a telescope so Damian could look at the stars with his family on clear nights. Just like what Duke's mom gave him as a boy for the holidays one year.
Cass (got Dick)
Cass didn't receive material gifts for most of her life so she probably enlisted Alfred's help. Given that the butler knows Dick pretty well, they decided to give him a gift basket with blue ribbon that had a T-shirt of his favorite band, some flash fuzzy socks (Wally would approve), and his favorite holiday candy. Dick is really more of a quality time kind of person if you want to make him to feel special, so it didn't need to be elaborate anyway.
Jason (got Cass)
I don't care how much people try to make Jason into a sexist, ignorant-to-the-fine-arts kind of person. Jason doesn't give a fuck about gender stereotypes and he loves learning, especially about classical things like literature or fine arts. For his secret Santa to Cass he got them both tickets for a weekend trip to Russia to see a ballet in person in one of the grandest cities in Russia. Cass has obviously been to many places across the world, but it was always for a mission and nothing more. For the holidays, Jason gifted her two days where they could travel and explore the culture, living like locals or being those stereotypical tourists just for shits and giggles. Just a few days without work to relax and live happy lives as regular people. When Cass got her gift Jason pulled her aside afterwards to explain it, so she wouldn't cry in front of everyone. And she did cry. Just a little. So did Jason.
Tim (got Duke)
Tim wouldn't think too hard about Duke's gift since he knows the people Duke hangs out with. Or could find them. Getting Duke a gift was as simple as casually running into Duke's friends and asking them about what Duke likes. Not that he or Duke's friends ever mentioned this to Signal, so when he opened his secret Santa and found some hyper-specific things amongst some more generic gifts, he began to wonder just how much Tim knew about his life.
Stephanie (got Babs)
Steph is absolutely the type of person to get someone for Christmas something they want themselves. So a lot of the gifts Bruce gave her look similar to what Babs got from Steph. Not that she means anything by it, but in her mind if it's worth wanting, someone else close to her probably wants it too. And Babs doesn't mind. She already bought herself a new desk light after the old one got knocked down one too many times, so it doesn't matter if she has a cute keychain to go on it.
Damian (got Tim)
Regardless of his age I think a younger sibling will always be a younger sibling. Damian would probably give Tim a large fancy gift bag filled with tissue paper... and nothing else. He'd do it just to see Tim's reaction to rifling through the bag for several moments to come up empty. Then, when Tim admits defeat, Damian would hand over a gift he asked Jon to pick up for Connor, nicely wrapped with Tim's forged signature and everything. He wasn't about to get Tim a gift but it's okay because he knew Tim would've somehow forgotten to get his boyfriend a holiday gift anyway. (And he did)

when it comes to problematic media such as harry potter or like. the twilight saga or something, we are not really saying “ur not allowed to interact with this media ever again or ur an asshole”.
u can however interact with it without promoting it or giving money to their creators. there’s this thing u might’ve heard of: do that shit in private.
i like twilight not because it’s particularly good, but for nostalgia reasons, it was one of my first full blown special interests. but i don’t post about it, i don’t buy merch or shit that gives stephanie meyer money (or anyone at all, i don’t buy merch). i do have all cds that i’ve had since forever, i watch them every now and then.
and also like. please just admit that those creators are problematic as fuck, stop defending them bc u like their shit for nostalgia. one big thing about stephanie meyer is the fact that she used the quileute tribe in her story, completely lied and made shit up about them, AND DIDNT COMPENSATE THEM AT ALL. they are a struggling community and some twilight fans seem to refuse to even believe it.
and i don’t even know where to start with jkr. there is so much of every -phobia and -ism you can think of. like could probably write an entire essay of all the shit she’s said and done, but she’s a HUGE terf and antisemite. she named an asian character “cho chang”. those are two last names. there is a “slave race” that apparently enjoys being slaves.
go ahead and enjoy your nostalgia, but don’t be an ass.
here is a link to the quileute tribes fundraiser, to help them relocate from a tsunami risk zone.
here is a link to a charity (mermaids) directed towards helping young trans people and their families in the uk.
another link to a uk trans focused (but also queer in general) charity (GI).
link to a scottish trans focused organisation that rely on donations to help scotland become a safer place for trans people.

Introduction
Hello!
My name is Katherine, or Kat, and I'm going to be 27 this year, and I'm an aspiring author. I'm new to Tumblr, so I'm not really sure how this works, but I'm going to do my best.
A little about me:
I have a learning disability, dyslexia and ADHD. But this has not diminished my love for reading or writing. I've been serious about becoming an author since middle school.
The first book series to really get me into reading was the Twilight Saga by Stephanie Meyer. My mother owned the books and I had taken the first book (Twilight) with me to my grandparents. I was struggling really hard to understand (keep in mind this was the summer before 6th grade, so I was 11 and in my small town I was just kind of passed through without really being taught how to properly understand the words I was reading. I know what the words meant, just didn't understand what kind of story they were telling, if that makes sense?) and my grandmother noticed and decided to take me to the public library and we rented the first book on CD. It was about 12 hours long, give or take. I stayed up all night listening and following along in my mothers copy of the book. For the first time I was understanding what I was reading. I just needed a little help putting it all together. Ove the next few days my grandmother and I would go to the library check out the next audio book and the physical book and by the end of the next week I had finished the series.
The next book series I got into was The Secret Circle by L. J. Smith. I read those on my own without listening to them on audio.
Admittedly after that I didn't read too much, only the few things that were assigned in school. Until I found John Green's Paper Towns my junior year. I read like a few books I checked out from the library at school but apart from that it hasn't been until last year that I've really picked books back up. I've recently read ACOTAR by SJM. I'm on the last book, and they are on audible.
What I envision for this blog
I'm looking to share my WIP because I am starting from scratch, I'm going to post some scribbles and things I've written based off of prompts.
I'm also looking to connect with people who also like to write and have similar interests.

Today's compilation:
Disco Nights, Volume 1: Divas of Dance 1994 Disco
Here's a terrific collection of unmistakable disco classics from the 70s and early 80s that specifically highlights some of those years' most beloved women, be they constant forces like Donna Summer, or one-hit wonders like Cheryl Lynn.
Back in 1994, a budget imprint label under the Polygram umbrella that sought to highlight songs from bygone eras called Rebound Records launched their Disco Nights series. And in order to meet people where they were at during those mid-90s, they used some of that very popular global village coffeehouse aesthetic for their album art, trying to remind folks that in those then-current times, these tunes, from a genre that had long since died, still had plenty of juice left.
So, ultimately, this is a cheat code comp: you really can't go wrong if your release has a bunch of well-regarded hits on it. But by that same token, if you don't know anything about some of disco's greatest ladies, this also makes for a good place to start. Everything on here is undoubtedly surface level, but it's also just top-tier disco music. And none of these tracks appear to be shortened, radio-edit versions either; everything's of a pretty substantial length, although not of a super extended 12-inch variety.
And while most people will probably recognize the large bulk of these tunes, there's a couple that don't seem to be as remembered as others, like Grace Jones' "I Need a Man," which managed to top the US dance chart, but only made it to #83 on the Billboard Hot 100; and Stephanie Mills' "What Cha Gonna Do With My Lovin'," which topped out at #22 on the Hot 100. Neither of those songs are obscure by any means, but among this CD that's packed with absolute monsters, those two, I think, make for some of this release's lesser-known inclusions. Plus, these days people might be more familiar with Gloria Estefan's rendition of "Turn the Beat Around" too, rather than the original by Vicki Sue Robinson, but Robinson's version is the one that's on here 😊.
So, while absolutely no crate-digging went into putting this release together, it's still impossible to not enjoy over an hour's worth of these massively popular tracks, which were sung by the women whose own collective contributions helped to briefly displace rock from its throne as America's top genre.
Highlights:
Evelyn "Champagne" King - "Shame" Donna Summer - "Heaven Knows" Gloria Gaynor - "I Will Survive" Alicia Bridges - "I Love the Nightlife (disco 'round)" Yvonne Elliman - "If I Can't Have You" Grace Jones - "I Need a Man" Anita Ward - "Ring My Bell" Cheryl Lynn - "Got to Be Real" Vicki Sue Robinson - "Turn the Beat Around" Irene Cara - "Fame" Stephanie Mills - "What Cha Gonna Do With My Lovin'" Donna Summer - "Last Dance"

What about a story where Damian gets sent to bording school because Bruce can't handle him anymore and sends him without telling anyone. When everyone wonders where Damian is Bruce tells them that he sent Damian to boarding school that's not even in America. No one knew what to do and they couldn't take him out so it went on for years and Damian CD ame back a completely different person and everyone even Bruce was sad that they missed so much of Damian's life and Damianw mad that he got sent away and didn't get to be normal.
Wow okay dude, this is a curveball. I make angst to hurt Damian based on what I know, this is a complete turnaround you're going for the throat. I like that let's get started.
.
"This will be good for you Damian"
"Yeah sending your blood son to a boarding school in a different continent is exactly what I need"
Bruce sighed and rubbed his temple "It's only for four years, I'll see you until then, hopefully they'll help you" Damian scowled and got in the car, crossing his arms and holding the bag full of clothes and other essential items (maybe a dagger or two)
.
A week through and Dick, Jason, Tim, Stephanie, Cass and Duke dropped by for an unprompted dinner and movie night.
"Hey B, where's Damian? I thought he'd be excited to see us, it's been a week"
Three minutes of silence, Tim looked at Bruce, he was... avoiding something about Damian. Narrowing his eyes slightly he stared at Bruce.
"Where is Damian? What are you hiding?"
They all looked up at Bruce with suspicious glances. Dick looked worried "He isn't hurt it he?! Why didn't you contact any of us?" "He isn't hurt Dick. I sent him to boarding school"
Everyone stopped eating, Bruce looked sheepishly away.
"YOU DID WHAT?!"
"WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?!"
"HOW COULD YOU?!"
"WHAT THE FUCK?!"
"BRUCE HE'S A KID WHAT THE ABSOLUTE SHIT!"
"He was out of line too many times"
Everyone sunk in their seats when the seething rage came off of Dick. "So you sent him, by himself, a child, a raised assassin, someone who has trouble with communication and in general social practices to a boarding school. Where?" "Europe" "YOU SENT HIM TO ANOTHER GOD DAMN CONTINENT BRUCE?! I KNEW YOU WEREN'T THE BEST DAD TO ME AT TIMES BUT YOU SERIOUSLY STOOPED THIS LOW?!" Dick slammed his hands on the table as he stood up "We're leaving. We have to get him back home"
The flight was swift yet the tension could not be more thick as Bruce was the culprit of it all.
"Excuse me, I'm Bruce Wayne. I sent my son here a week ago. I'd like to withdraw him from the program"
"I'm sorry sir, all applications include that the child has to stay throught the entire four years or else it will be a mark on any academic records if he were to drop out"
"Okay, thank you for your time"
Bruce walked back to the others who were sitting in the room over.
"What did she say?"
"He can't come back... he has to stay the full four years"
Jason perked up and slowly turned his head to Bruce "Four... years? You sent him to this thing for four damn years?! Is there any days where he can come back?" "No, travel won't work for students on holidays" "You... no. No I'm leaving"
.
.
.
.
Everyone waited at the airport, things were tense around Bruce and anything mentioning Damian. Finally after four years he was coming back.
Damian looked so much older and a bit taller, his hair was still the same but a bit longer. He was wearing a uniform close to his old school uniform.
"Damian!"
He looked over to them and blinked once then began walking over. Dick enveloped the fourteen year old in a tight embrace. "We missed you so much!" "Thanks, please unhand me Richard. I'd like to go home"
"Yeah let's go"
Damian wasn't exactly the same, he was more open to conversation on many topics which is a welcome sight, but whenever anyone mentioned on how they tried to get him back a week in or how upset they were when they heard Bruce did that he would get snappy and walk away. Titus was a guard dog for him, the poor canine didn't have his owner for four years, he was overprotective on Damian.
At the dinner table Bruce spoke to Damian after two days of finally settling in.
"Damian I-"
"Tt. Only took you two days to talk to me, did you make sure to prepare your speech throught those four years?"
A quiet mumbled "Oh shit" came from Duke as Bruce sighed "I deserved that. I wanted to say I'm sorry. I wasn't fair to you. I didn't try hard enough to connect with you and I regret it"
"I don't care. You were hoping they fixed me and I was alone with no family for four years. Why should I care for your pathetic apology?" "Damian-" "Don't try to save yourself and keep your pride here. I don't give a shit about any of that. I thought that maybe you would take me back before I even got to the airport that first day. Yet you didn't show, next I hear that it took you a week to tell anyone that I was sent to another continent? Not even to mention you took one of the few things that I enjoyed and felt a part of, being Robin"
"I get your angry-"
"NO! DON'T YOU DARE PULL THAT HERO BULLSHIT ON ME! I SPENT FOUR YEARS WITHOUT MY FAMILY AND YOU EXPECT ME TO BE HAPPY? I WAS ALONE BRUCE! YOU LEFT YOUR OWN SON FAR AWAY JUST BECAUSE YOU COULDN'T HANDLE ME?! YOU MIGHT AS WELL HAVE SENT ME BACK TO MOTHER! INSTEAD I SPENT FOUR YEARS ALONE AND BARELY KNOWING ANYONE! NO ONE LIKED ME, CAUSE A ARAB BOY JUST DROPS IN AND ENDS UP GETTING TOP SCORES ENDING UP WITH ME BEING BULLIED FOR FOUR FUCKING YEARS! And you didn't even care... so why the hell should I care for your stupid apology that you use only because you were caught and called out by the others. I don't care what you have to say. I thought I could be normal with this family, even though I was a brat I thought I could still be appreciated for who I was. Yet you didn't like it, you never loved who I was and you sent me away to "get help" when all I wanted was a family who understood me. Who... even though I was difficult would still care as I did for them. But you don't care. I'm done. Richard, can I crash at your place?"
"Um... yeah, you can"
Damian nodded and glared at Bruce "Don't try to save yourself now, I don't want to see you again. Come on Titus. Pennyworth may you look after the others?"
"I shall Master Damian"
"At least someone in this Manor cares enough..."
Damian walked out and slammed the door, everyone else followed and didn't say a word.
