Where could we read that older original story?
I'm assuming you're referring to the tags I have on this post, please tell me if I'm wrong.
The thing is, I never really finished that old story. It exists, kind of, in fragments scattered across my notebooks.
I based it off Egyptian Mythology. You can say that my old series of ‘the red desert sky’ I have on AO3 is a much much later rewrite of the Osiris myth that I did to explore the background of that story.
Teens falling into an alternate prison dimension, expected to replay that old myth. Only...the original Set, Seth, Suetekh, whichever you prefer to use, was in that dimension.
Trapped there. Ready to say ‘hey man’ to those stumbled across him.
Honestly, I meant to write the story from the POV from one of the girl characters. The one that was supposed to be a mirror of Isis. But I found Set more interesting, in the process.
I’ve always been a sucker for a good villain, after all. Especially a villain that’s a monster sitting in the bottom of a cell, just waiting to greet you with a bloody grin after you dig down to them.

Set

I read up on a site that mentioned Set was often invoked for love spells and amulets and such. However I can't seem to find anything on that, does anyone know anything or has a source I could read? Im not interested in love spells I just wanna know what all that was about and why. It doesnt seemed to be mentioned a lot nor is there an epithet that relates to it in my knowledge.

Set/Seth/Suetekh
Egyptian God of the Desert, Storms, Disorder, Violence, War, Chaos, Fire, Trickery, Envy, Storms and Foreigners
Set, also known as Seth and Suetekh was the brother of Osiris, Isis and Horus the Elder, uncle to Horuc the Younger, and Brother-Husband to Nephthys. His other consort was the goddess Tawaret, a hippo-headed deity who presided over fertility and childbirth. He is one of the first five gods created by the union of Geb (Earth) and Nut (Sky) after the creation of the world. His name is usually translated as "Instigator of confusion" and "Destroyer" and he was associated with Disorder, Foreign Lands and People, and the color red.
He is sometimes depicted as a red-haired beast with a forked tail and cloven hooves or a shaggy red dog-like beast known as a sha (or, to modern-day scholars, as the Set Animal) which some scholars claim was modeled on the Saluki breed while others maintain was a purely mythological creature. Imagined speciffically to represent Set whose other symbols were The Griffin, Hippopotamus, Crocodile, and Tortoise (Though he was primarily associated with the serpent). Other Names He was often called were "Lord of the Desert" and "Ruler of the South" as he was originally a god of Upper Egypt (the south) and the barren lands beyond Egypts borders.

Anyhow, Apo/phis isn't worth worship.
He is not necessary destruction, for he is the opposition of all existence, and not so much in a way that can be contorted into anything psuedo-metaphorical.
Make no mistake, absolute void is a necessity of existence; at least in my perspective. But chaos, to open room for new creation is not the goal ot Apo/phis.
He stands as the embodiment of isfet, to embrace him is to endure all wrongdoing.
If you are absolutely hell-bent on being edgy, Suetekh is right there.

Prayer for Set
Dua Set, Lord of Storms
I hear your powerful voice
I hear you in the booming thunder
In the torrent of the rain
I find you in grey clouds
In the wind as you herald the storm
I find you in the creak of the windshield wipers
In the patter of the rain on the roof
In the smell of the rain
The heaviness of the air
I feel your energy, pent up
And building
Filling the sky,
Filling me
Until a blinding flash
Cuts the sky like a blade
I find you in gentler times
In the smell after a storm
The water dripping from the trees
In the coolness of the air
I find you in song,
I sing along to the music, to the roaring wind
I scream your name with the thunder
I feel you smile
Dua Set, my mighty Storm
